Thank you. Im going to ring them for a telephone appointment and see what she says

holls2000 · 22/05/2014 07:05

Hope it's all ok ilove - worth ringing even if for peace of mind.
Went to cinema last night, could I get comfy? Could I hell. Feet and ankles really swollen cos spent yesterday running around like a loon. Last night I woke up when the baby moved - haven't done that before, wouldn't say it was a huge action, but it was more noticeable.
DH has now decided that it's ok to make fun of my expanding girth. I've put weight on, yes, but was quite proud that I had only put a stone on - I am the woman who could put a tonne on just looking at chocolate - lost 3 stone last year to aid getting pg, so am a bit sensitive about it all.
I have GTT at 28 weeks and a growth scan at 32 weeks - to quote my consultant "due to previous infertility and mc" I thought it was just cos my baby had a fat tummy. Shows what I know...
Sorry, but of a ramble, have a cracking day all.

ilovemonstersInc · 22/05/2014 09:19

Rang gp and the receptionist is going to ask what to do.Think kits best if I rearrange tomorrow's gtt just in case as ive been in contact with little onw who has s.f. dont want to pass any germs on to other mummys to be don't think thats fair.

Just waiting on a call back. Ive been in contact every day for weeks so surely if I would get it it would be fromthen? Like yyesterday I checked his rash and thought it was to do eith the virus he was diagnosed with originally and then went to finish my biscuit Blush

KitKat1985 · 22/05/2014 09:38

hols2000 please don't worry about the weight gain - you are doing better than me! Weighed self this morning and have put on 17 and a half pounds (week 23)! Ekkk!

Ilove I hope the Drs can give you some reassurance. Let us know how it goes. xx

Morning!
Sorry I've not been around much recently, I've been so busy between work, decorating and dd1 stressing about exams - it's all a bit much at the moment.
Congratulations on the driving test ilove, I hope you get some better priced insurance. I had a scarlet fever stress a couple of months ago as they had an outbreak at school but researching it definitely suggested there was nothing to worry about. I can't remember the details though so it could be it was down to what stage of pregnancy you are at or something. I hope the dr can put your mind at ease though.
My bump now sticks out further than my boobs (no mean feat considering how much they have grown!) which makes dd2 especially very excited. I really don't remember being this big with the first two but as long as the mw is happy, I'll just leave it all alone. I haven't weighed myself since my booking appt (I had to before then as the mw wanted to know my weight) and probably won't until baby is at least 6 months old. The numbers are just meaningless until then.

Mummyto3tobe · 23/05/2014 09:27

why was my post deleted!? Im confused.

ilovemonstersInc · 23/05/2014 09:41

Lol mummy I dont have a clue I was confused when I saw that your post was perfectly fine imo.

Thanks everyone 1dr gave me 3 days worth of antibiotics as I have a sore throat and another said nothing to worry about Confused dh has had a sore throat for around 5weeks which is getting worse but he wont go to get checked so will drive him myself on his day off Grin

I did 2 trips yesterday both to nursery to drop and pick ds. I didnt ask anyone to come with me as I didn't want to ve reliant on waiting for someone to come anf sit with me. I stalled doing turn in road on a hill while a car was waiting Shock but the man was nice I knew him and he waited patiently for me to complete and pass him which helped. Its still very daunting and dont think Iwill be ddoing any big trips for a while or other manoeuvres but dont want to forget how to do them iyswim.

How is everyone?

StrawberryGashes · 23/05/2014 10:34

I seen the deleted post last night and wondered too. It must have been a mistake as surely mnhq wouldn't be hovering over antenatal threads, I can't see them getting too feisty!

I've had an awful sore throat too which is stopping me from being able to get any sleep, I've been told all I can take is paracetamol though, antibiotics weren't mentioned although I was given them in a previous pregnancy so I think they're OK to take while pregnant.

My quiet baby has turned into such a wriggler, kicking and punching away all the time. I love this stage when it's strong enough to feel but not strong enough yet to wake me up with a foot in my ribs.

It's my dc2's first birthday in just over a week so I have been getting very sentimental, and the hormones aren't helping.

cookielove · 23/05/2014 12:42

Hello all just got in from midwife appointment, got my matb1 form so all good and then the dreaded weigh in and whoop whoop I've lost 1/2 kilo :)

Baby is well.

strawberry have you tried gargling salt water?

ilove its great your getting out there, I assume you paid the £500, fx your insurance goes down next year.

Strawberry I've had an awful sore throat too. Mine has since developed into a full blown cough & cold & I ended up having two days off work. There is lots going round here, hopefully you'll be feeling much better soon.

Baby was kicking loads while I was off sick, not sure if it was because I was resting or in protest at the constant coughing & sneezing. Had my first experience of a foot in the ribs yesterday, lasted about 3 hours & he wouldn't move no matter what I did. Think he's going to be stubborn like DP!

Ilove nice to hear that you're making the most of passing your test. I'd suggest going out once a day even if it's for a 5 minute drive to the shop to keep it all fresh. I would have stalled trying to do a turn in the road on a hill as I hate hills.

Fairypants · 23/05/2014 14:59

I also had a sore throat and had a day off work last week followed by another day working from home. It's since turned into a cold but I can't fight it off. Its really getting me down.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 23/05/2014 15:29

Got the results back, I'm not a carrier of cystic fibrosis but it's come back my OH is. we'll be having growth scans etc, and the baby will be a carrier of cystic fibrosis too, she could have it but we won't know for definite until when they do heel prick test after birth.

cookielove · 23/05/2014 16:19

missbright I'm not sure what to say, I am in a very similar situation and still can only offer you a friendly ear and hand to hold :)

xxmissbrightsidexx · 23/05/2014 16:27

Whatever will be will be Co

xxmissbrightsidexx · 23/05/2014 16:28

*cookie, I'm trying to live by that saying atm otherwise I'm going to drive myself crazy. She'll be loved regardless. Hope you're okay x
(Stupid phone sent before had chance to finish writing)

CumbrianExile · 23/05/2014 17:33

I wondered what I had missed yesterday, seeing the deleted post Grin

ILove I stalled yesterday, doing a 3 point turn on a flat road outside my house. And I have been driving over 10 years (and being doing the three point turn every night this week alone) so please don't worry about stalling. Good to see you getting out there, practise makes perfect!

MissB not sure what to say either, but good to see you staying positive. I think its a perfectly good saying to live by.

I also have had a sore throat which has developed into a cold. Luckily I can work from home so have been able to laze about in my PJ's for the last couple of days.

Hey sorry to hear about all the stress Missbrightside. Definitely agree with the 'what will be, will be' approach.

Ilovemonstersinc trust me I still stall my car now and struggle to park, to the extent that I don't even try to parallel park and I passed my test years ago. Would definitely agree with topsyloulou that try and go for a short drive most days if you can to start to build up your confidence.

Sorry to hear so many of you ladies are feeling poorly. Hoping you get well soon so you get to make the most of the bank holiday weekend. I'm working tomorrow and Sunday but off Monday with DH and looking forward to it (we don't get many days off together as he has a Monday-Friday 9-5 type job, and I work shifts as a nurse, often covering evenings and weekends).

cookielove · 23/05/2014 21:18

missbright in our case a previous mc lead to me being diagnosed with triple x syndrome, this can be passed on to our lo, for me the ammio was to high a risk to the baby, so we now wait till baby is here to see if has (the much worse male version) but as you day what will be will be and this baby is already adored!!

topmammy · 24/05/2014 09:14

missbright your positive attitude (and yours *cookie! :) ) is really great, well done you, I know it can't be easy. Keeping everything crossed for you Thanks

I randomly woke up at half 3 this morning absolutely wide awake! I thought pregnancy was supposed to make me tired lol. Managed to get back to sleep eventually, then dreamt about my baby girl after she was born :) Interestingly she had ginger hair! Me and DH both have brown hair, my mum is a more auburn colour though. Hmm!

cookielove · 24/05/2014 11:26

topmammy i've known about my triple x before i got pregnant, although once i was pregnant i was given genetic counselling which gave me much more insight into what we were facing, so i have had many more weeks to deal with the news and get my head around it which helps!

I really feel for missbright as it really is devastating not knowing what will happen!

So i try not to think about it and just look forward to my little boy!

lilone1234 · 24/05/2014 18:41

I think trying to be positive, especially about something like this, can be very difficult, so I admire you both for being able to do it! Your little ones will be lucky to have you both as mummas! Smile

Went to Kiddicare at Lakeside today to check out prams. Leaning towards the uppababy cruz which is £400 but by the time we've got the carrycot to make it suitable from birth and compatible car seat (Maxi Cosi) plus adaptors it will be like £650 and the footmuff another £80! I like it as its very easy to manoeuvre and moves like a 3 wheeler but has 4 wheels so feels a bit more stable when lifting (I was practicing getting off a bus). Pretty light too - and can face both directions which was a must for me.

Though as the footmuff can't be used until baby is in the actual pushchair which is supposedly from 6 months it will be March onwards and then by the time it gets to winter again about a year old so probably not really necessary straight away. And really, doesn't a coat and blanket do the same thing??

I am worried about the pushchair fitting in the boot though - DP thinks it will fit but wasn't willing to work out/ask someone how it folds down which i'm quite annoyed about as I think it's an important thing to know. His parents have said they would like to buy the pram so I think he's going to mention that we've seen one we like and if they would like to come and look with us (rather than just ask for the money) which will probably be good as his mum will be a lot more thorough I think!

It really is a mission - I feel like I need a degree in it!

topmammy · 24/05/2014 20:12

Pram buying certainly is a mission lilone I've given up for now, just can't decide. Will try again when due date is a bit nearer as I'll probably be more desicive when time is of the essence! Grin

Did successfully buy a car seat today though, yippee! Went for Maxi cosi cabriofix and the base too. Going to look round the labour ward tomorrow at hospital, should be interesting!
