Hi everyone, we have run out of posts on our last thread so hopefully we'll all find this one easily enough.

Here is to more positive 12 week scans and enjoying our second trimesters, all feeling more human hopefully!

We could call it the Rainbow Collective! Lol! Grin

Are we going to do that by the way? I'd be up for it! We could choose a colour each like one of us will be orange, another red, another yellow, and even non rainbow colours like hot pink, black, brown, and shades like lime green and bottle green, then all buy a bulk of whichever item - socks, bodysuits, babygrows, muslins, vests... just plain white, inexpensive, simple ones then post them out 1 to everyone who wants to take part. There's a finite number of colours so we'd have to work out numbers but say we have 15 who want to take part, we could split that into 3 groups of 5 so like 3 red ladies, 3 blue, 3 green, 3 yellow, 3 purple, then of those 3, 1 who has like 15 pairs of socks, 1 has 15 bodysuits, 1 has 15 vests. Then we post out 14 items to everyone else and we all end up with 15 multicoloured items. Would that work? Places like supermarkets and Primark have packs of 3 or 5 plain white items cheap, I think I saw 3 packs in Tesco for like 3. I've posted a thread about it here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2072479-November-2014-Rainbow-Collective

Glad everyone else's scans went well. My little wriggler would not stay still and it took ages to get any measurements or pictures! I had orange juice 45 minutes before, couldn't face two pints of just water this morning, so not sure if that did it!
Eventually got a measurement and I've moved forward 5 days, strange feeling, like I've lost a week of pregnancy, I'm sure I'll get it back at the end as DD was 13 days late!
So 13+2 apparently!
Definitely got a dancer, both hands in the air for the picture!

I was totally up for it until I was having a research on dyes and I read that we're not supposed to hand dye anything (except hair occasionally) and only machine dyes are safe apparently... not sure how we'd make a rainbow with machine dyes :/

alita7 · 06/05/2014 20:18

Lovely pictures everyone :)

Petal26 · 06/05/2014 20:21

Oh and we arrived at 9:10 for our 9:20 appointment, 3 other couples came and went in to various rooms before me, had some serious pregnancy rage brewing, was nearly 25 minutes late to be seen, how can they be running that late at that time in the morning, ARGH!
(The rage melted away when the image came up on the screen :-p)

Evening all.

I know some folks want a FB group. I wont be joining it but of course good on those who do. I like to keep my FB and MN lives quite separate. I also remember what happened to last MN group - it ended up very divided and even harder to keep to keep up with different conversations going. Quite a few felt they had to choose between them so,it became quite cliquey. It was a shame, just as we were all starting to get to know each other on MN..

Twiglet -UTIs are grim so big sympathy to you and hope you get it sorted soon.

Yeah to more great scan news!!

RandomInternetStranger · 06/05/2014 20:36

alita I would have done it in the machine anyway being the laziest and least creative person in the known world. Grin What is your idea of rainbow babygrows? Are you thinking on babygrow with multiple colours on it, or 7 babygrows, one in red, one orange, one yellow....? I've been imagining the latter so if say I did long sleeve body suits in orange, I'd chuck them all in the machine up to the weight limit on the dye, dye them all solid orange at the same time, then keep one and post the rest out, one to each person in the group. They'd do the same with one person doing green bodysuits, one doing red ones, at the end we'd all hopefully end up with a set of all different colours. It would be good if we could get 7 bodysuits, 7 pairs of socks, 7 babygrows, 7 t-shirts, all in one colour each, but that could get expensive with each person having to buy 7 of each item and dye them all, and I'd also be happy with red socks, a blue vest, a green t-shirt...

Oh I see random I was thinking striped :P that's easier then :P But it may be better to do it post 20 week scans? So someone with a boy they don't want to put in pink doesn't end up with bright pink hehe.

Onion, I will definitely be coming on both!

RandomInternetStranger · 06/05/2014 20:46

Lol alita my parents had a fit at me the other day - I found on eBay an absolute bargain cosleeper crib, collection only near them, so I bought it, and sent Dad to collect it. Didn't tell him it is the pinkest, girliest, fluffiest ballet dancing teddybear chiffon draped girliest crib you have ever seen! Dad especially was not impressed as we are all convinced this is a boy and no grandson of his etc. Grin I don't care, it was a bargain!! Grin

Tigsy - am up for a Facebook group too so will drop you an email later Grin

And Rainbow Collective sounds like a fab idea, perhaps post-20 week scans as Alita suggested!

Stupid bloody app - definitely only posted that once, and it kept saying cannot connect to Mumsnet Shock

RandomInternetStranger · 06/05/2014 22:00

Tigsy! Add Amy! She's a bit excited!!! Grin

utopian99 · 06/05/2014 22:06

Keen amy? Wink

Am up for the rainbow too - we're planning on going team yellow with this one and ds wears plenty of pink anyway so all colours welcome!

moggle · 06/05/2014 22:09

The rainbow thing is a great idea, I have been lusting after similarly coloured stuff, but might want to check postage first- it's not cheap these days to send a parcel even second class :-( (well one or two is ok but 14 might be pushing it !)

I might as well 'come out' now, I've rudely popped up to say something unsolicited enough times while I've been lurking on here for weeks!
I'm expecting DC1, the result of our first ivf attempt - still feel like we've won the lottery!! EDD November 17th. Scan tomorrow, hope I'm not tempting fate by posting today!

Tigsy · 06/05/2014 22:19

Super-keen Amy that's the spirit! Smile

Weeonion I understand. I'll definitely be hanging about on here as well as on Facebook though. You can't get rid of me that easily Grin

RandomInternetStranger · 07/05/2014 00:22

moggle from my calculations, working on 15 but may well be less than that, 15 babygrows (or whatever) would be about £20 (packs of 7 in Tesco are £8), a packet of dye is about £7 on Amazon (for Dylon but there are a couple of cheaper brands but I've never used them), postage for 15 2nd class large letters is £10.22, then envelopes and a washing load, it will be about £40 for 15. That means we're effectively paying £40 for 15 baby items which is a lot but depends how much you want to do it. I thought about buying packs of 7 of each item myself (7 babygrows, 7 vests, 7 tshirts, 7 pairs of socks...) and 7 packs of dye to do it myself but it would be £47 for the dye alone and probably about 40 for the items too.

alita7 · 07/05/2014 02:09

random the ones on ebay seem cheap!!
The alternative is to buy maybe 3 colours you like and dye lots of things those colours? would only be a shared idea then though.

Welcome abd good luck moggie!

alita7 · 07/05/2014 02:09

(in comparison to £40)

Mumonabroom · 07/05/2014 05:48

Hi all, hope you're well, finally caught up on posts. Scan is tomorrow, but I haven't been able to sleep all night. As it's DC3, I should be chilled out about this by now, but I'm worried about its health, about it being twins (!) or about imagining the whole thing (had this irrational phobia last 2 times too). Good luck to everyone else with scans coming up.

ladydolly · 07/05/2014 06:19

I'm so up for the rainbow collective, I hate pastels!

Welcome Moggle, congratulations.

Good luck to today's scanners.

14 weeks tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll wake up and the nausea will magically disappear...
