I'm so up for the rainbow collective, I hate pastels!

Welcome Moggle, congratulations.

Good luck to today's scanners.

14 weeks tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll wake up and the nausea will magically disappear...

Polkadotscarf · 07/05/2014 07:24

I was 14 weeks yesterday and also hoping the nausea and sickness takes a hike now! :-)

alita7 · 07/05/2014 07:30

if you've got a scan good luck!!!

Also 14 weeks tomorrow and I want to be able to eat meat again!

alita7 · 07/05/2014 07:35

Also is anyone else hating everyone, including for selfish/ petty things and having extreme emotions and mood swings? I'm so so so angry this morning (to the point where I wanted to run away or jump off a bridge just to hurt dp - wtf?????? I know that's totally irrational and horrible yet that's what I felt like) and if I told you why you'd all tell me off!!!

Mathssssteacher123 · 07/05/2014 07:43

Had my scan last Thursday and everything was perfect. Got in from work yesterday with very mild cramps nothing that concerned me, but then I went to the toilet and had a gush of blood with really big clots (sorry tmi) and obviously went straight to the hospital. Considering I had to go to a and e as all maternity services were out of hours I could not have asked for better treatment.
Thy female dr said she knew how it felt to be me and said she was going to find a portable ultrasound to see if we could find baby but explained she might not be able to as it wasn't something she had trained to do. She found baby still with a good heartbeat and wriggling away so much relief. I had to have anti d and then could go home.
I just want to know why I've bled so much and what is causing it. I'm really scared to tell work I'm not going in today but I can't risk it.
This pregnancy has been the most stressful thing ever.
13+4 when will the worry stop :(

WheresMrMonkey · 07/05/2014 07:50

Big hugs maths, the wait and see snd keep fibers crossed is such a long old game to be playing

weeonion · 07/05/2014 07:52

oh mathsssteacher. that must have been awful for you but as you say so much relief to hear good news at the end. hopefully a day in bed / on the sofa for you.

mismylinford · 07/05/2014 08:19

Mathsteacher.
I had the same thing 2 weeks ago.
Don't panic it sounds exactly like what i have, its a bruise called a heamatoma, in the womb and the blood is just the bruise bleeding out.
Yes its terrifying as you have no idea and blood just comes gushing out. Mine is shown to be as big as the baby so i was put in bed rest.
Im still stopping... Deep red brownish ...
Lots of woman get these some will never know as they are mainly re absorbed by the body.
I was told there's no extra risk of harm to the baby and its just one of them things.
You'll be ok xxx

Mathssssteacher123 · 07/05/2014 08:27

Thank you mismylinford that is very reassuring

moggle · 07/05/2014 08:32

mathsteacher glad everything is OK! So scary :-(

random- ah yes I was thinking they'd have to go parcel but large letter would be much cheaper.

I've just left for work, DH is working at home and driving to pick me up later, I've just realised I didn't find the letter from the hosp with scan date and directions before I left and so really hope he can dig through my junk to find it! Don't suppose anyone had their scan at St Peters (surrey) and knows if the scans are done in the maternity wing or somewhere else?!

mismylinford · 07/05/2014 08:40

This happened when i was 12 weeks and now im 14 there are threads on here with others having the same bleeding. I know its difficult and i worry myself sick.some days but they usually go by 20 weeks. I was put on rest as i bled alot about half a pint in 15 minutes went sick dizzy ect. Try to rest if u can get time.off work.

ElleOhElle · 07/05/2014 08:44

oh maths how frightening - the worry never stops!!

haven't got time to catch up but looks like there's been lots of happy scans!! Grin
I'm 13+5 today and still gagging loads - anyone found a cure?? in wondering if it could be related to being dehydrated so trying to drink loads (which means weeing loads Grin )
off on holiday in just over a week - managed to find a suitable tankini in next after crying down the phone to DH that everything looked hideous!!
hope the nausea stops in time for holiday!!

Tigsy · 07/05/2014 09:25

Maths how scary for you- sounds like the doctor was pretty fab though and went out of her way to help, which is good. Hopefully you won't get any more now.

Sickness seems to be making a comeback, and was sick again this morning. Am 14 weeks tomorrow.

Good luck to all those with scans today!

Venus2 · 07/05/2014 09:31

Mathsteacher, sorry to hear that you have been having such a rough time. I hope things settle down soon.
Alita, I'm also having major mood swings this week. Crying (non stop sobbing) for no reason and snapping at DH when it isn't even his fault. I think I'm just feeling really ground down as I feel tired non stop. I'm still very breathless, I get dizzy every time I stand up and I have felt sicker this week than before. I want my mojo back! DH has been very supportive but I feel so sorry for him having to be around me right now.
I'm keen to join the FB group (being new here from another country I need to start networking) and will continue with the MN thread too.

moggle · 07/05/2014 09:35

elle I was trying on bikinis for our holiday in a week and a half, I had 5 which I bought for a big holiday last year and only one is decent anymore! The others either make my boobs look horrendous or are too low cut and after a swim I know I'll have some escaping pubes.... Not a good look when on holiday with BILs and FIL...

TwigletFiend · 07/05/2014 09:40

Maths hope it settles down quickly, glad you were able to hear that everything was ok.

I would definitely be keen for the rainbow collective! Aside from all else, bright colours hide a multitude of sins Grin.

Hi moggle, we're due on the same date. Congratulations!

Am bracing myself for round two of the antibiotics saga. Am really very uncomfortable now, not sure who else to call if they can't seem to sort it out today. Do you think they'd issue a prescription direct from the hospital? It's a bit of a faff because I live in a very rural area and it's a bit of a trek there compared to the GP, but am not sure I care any more, just want this gone!

mismylinford · 07/05/2014 10:15

Venus - i am the same with dizzyness and can't walk far at all. Hardly been out in weeks... Just to Doctors or family. Sucks big time. Going to Disneyland Paris at the weekend and i got a mobility scooter ... My only other options from cancelling it as i just would be able to walk.

I have a general question
Do we need to book out whooping and flu vaccines or will the midwife do this for us??
Also i was told i need an extra blood taken for mrsa as I've recently been to the states Confused again.will this be done automatically or done have to arrange it myself.

Hopeful83 · 07/05/2014 10:19

Maths teacher that is awful. I am so glad that the hospital were good and that it's all ok. Make sure you get lots of rest. Don't feel bad about being off work. You and your baby are more important.

I am a teacher and have taken today off as I have had a splitting headache since yesterday afternoon. I have never had a headache like this. Should I call the doctor or is that an overreaction? Also, at 1am, unable to sleep because of the pain, I caved and took 2 paracetamol. Now I'm panicking if this is bad for the baby?

Congratulations to everyone with happy scan news and good luck to those with scans today Smile

Hopeful83 · 07/05/2014 10:20

Also Twiglet good luck getting your antibiotics!

TwigletFiend · 07/05/2014 10:38

Thanks Hopeful. Paracetamol is fine to take when pregnant, so definitely don't worry about that Smile. If I were you, I'd try a day of rest with plenty of fluids today and if it's still savage going into late afternoon maybe call the doctor & see if there's anything they can do.

mismylin, I think that's a brilliant idea! This way you aren't missing out on anything & you're doing the best for you & baby at the same time. You should get one of those 'Baby on board' stickers for the back Grin Was it easy to get hold of? I guess they have a system for hiring them somewhere like that.

TeaNCakes · 07/05/2014 10:43

Hopeful paracetamol is fine in pregnancy, you won't have done any harm.

Mathsteacher sorry to hear what you've been going through, must have been so frightening for you. Hope you can rest well today and everything settles down.

Just off to the hospital for our scan, good luck to everyone else with scans today Smile

mismylinford · 07/05/2014 11:02

Twig- yeah i got it from the shop mobility charity £35 a week. They are all over the country mainly in city centres. My dh said he was happy to push me around but im very much a i can do it on my own ( even when i really can't) so a scooter will be good. Never been before and dd who is nearly 4 has no idea where we are going can't wait to see her face. Love the baby on board idea. Just hoping i don't crash the thing into goofy or something (bad driver)

FTMK · 07/05/2014 11:15

Finally being brave enough to register and sneak in after lurking for a while. 12 week scan today after an 11 week scan for bleeding last week which means I've finally bitten the bullet and posted. Cautiously excited to say all looks good on both scans. Previously had a MC and I'm an older first time mum so quite anxious. Been excited to see all the scan pics and hear good news. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. K.

FTMK · 07/05/2014 11:16

PS empathise with Twig as am on 3rd set of antibiotics for a UTI which doesn't seem to be shifting. Back to the docs...

Tigsy · 07/05/2014 11:35

MisMylinford I'm not sure I understand- why would you need a test for MRSA having been to the States? I was tested for MRSA at my booking appointment- but that is because I work in a hospital and have frequent patient contact. If you do need testing, it tends to be a swab (nose and groin) not a blood test.
