Hi everyone, we have run out of posts on our last thread so hopefully we'll all find this one easily enough.

Here is to more positive 12 week scans and enjoying our second trimesters, all feeling more human hopefully!

That does seem abit odd but well done you for adding your own. I was told with second third forth etc pregnancies you get more or less left to it unless there's problems. Tell you what i have to have more injections and bloods taken this time round. From having this heamatoma I've been left feeling like a pin cushion! Its made me get over needles quickly.

RandomInternetStranger · 03/05/2014 11:04

Do they do bloods as standard on every appointment now? I don't remember that from last time but I've had one on each appointment so far.

mismylinford · 03/05/2014 11:14

I think they must do. I was told when id have them with my visits and they said its to monitor iron levels.

Annarose2014 · 03/05/2014 11:37

Guys I got my Doppler this morning but I couldn't find the heartbeat!

I was roaming everywhere and was running out of abdomen and I still couldn't hear anything!

I kept reminding myself it was perfectly normal not to hear anything etc etc but of course inwardly I was getting nervous and wondering if the EPU was open, and DH was going to a football match soon so what would he do.....UGH!

Eventually I heard a heartbeat - it was down by my right pelvic bone! Insane how low down it was. It was only about 100 bpm though, so now I'm worried it isn't fast enough, and what does that mean?

I'm fairly sure even despite my nerves it wasn't my heartbeat as I listened to that up on my chest and it wasn't that fast.

Also heard that "ghostly wind" people talk about which is apparently the placenta. Wierd!

Annarose2014 · 03/05/2014 11:51

Actually I just found it at 140bpm! Oh I feel better now.

I think the first time might have been my own heartbeat after all.

Gosh its fainter than I thought though! Makes you realise how small and tucked away baby is!

amylou85 · 03/05/2014 11:57

Awww guys I had just had my private 10 week scan!!

I saw my gorgeous munchkin kicking about and moving round and it waved at me and it was the best thing I have ever seen in my entire life!!!!!!!

It's little heart was flickering away.....we are all SO SO SO SO SO lucky and i'm an emotional wreck!

She said I am 10 weeks 2 days which puts my due date at 27th november now but that will probably change again at the 12 week scan.

Going to go and cry in joy and sleep now as I had such a restless night worrying!! Hope you are all well xxxxxx (Happy Aimes) Grin

PosyFossilsShoes · 03/05/2014 12:44

Scan photo! It's a bit of a crap picture, I was slightly disappointed - as they charge £4 for them you'd have thought they'd make an effort to get a decent snap, but never mind.

Congratulations Amy!

Look at the little nose!

Elliekins · 03/05/2014 13:12

Hurrah Posy and Beatrix, so cute! Congrats Amy! Smile
Anna, I'm glad you found the heartbeat, I might order a Doppler too! So exciting.
I want my own home scanning machine!

Anyone else felt any light movements?

I am absolutely certain that this morning, (after I'd eaten 9 marshmallows for breakfast - great parenting!) when I was lying in bed trying to doze back off that I could feel the slightest lightest fluttery sensation, almost like several tiny ball-bearings rolling around inside.
Can it really be possible at 13 weeks? Smile

RandomInternetStranger · 03/05/2014 13:59

Bum I can't see photos on my phone! Buy yay for good scan news!

I'm sure I've felt little flutters 3 times now in the last few days. I'm 14 weeks today, first time round I started feeling movements at 17 weeks. I'm getting a lot of cramps the last week, that's a bit worrying & doesn't feel good. With DD I'd get regular tightenings, but not painful cramps. Sad

WheresMrMonkey · 03/05/2014 14:38

More lovely scan news. Brilliant!

mismylinford · 03/05/2014 15:05

Yay good news on scans. Im reluctant to get a doppler as id always be using it and constantly fretting. (though im fretting anyway).
I do keep thinking im feeling movements but could just as easily be wind Blush
Im just going onto 14 weeks and im getting cramps too over the past couple of days, I've been told its normal and to take painkillers and have a bath.... General advice from midwife is ... Have a bath then see how youfFeel.
Im going on holiday in a week and was thinking about getting my hair done.... What do u all think is it safe to dye?

Annarose2014 · 03/05/2014 15:14

Oh I've been dying my hair since Day 1, lol. I just do it in a well ventilated area.

RandomInternetStranger · 03/05/2014 15:46

Try and use a more gentle dye and not more than 2 shades away from your natural colour and don't put it on your scalp, leave a cm. Or use henna (but you can't put chemical dye back on top of henna once it's there.)

weeonion · 03/05/2014 16:20

Wonderful scan news!!

I have been feeling flutters / quickengs for well over a week now but think I might be one of the furthest on??
I think the info and leaflets got given at booking in on food / diet etc is very good, pretty thorough and detailed. I was also told bloods at each appt too?

Had another scan and bloods today - the harmony one and this doc put me at 15 wks 3, not 15wks. I'm a bit sceptical now to be honest about EDD - a movable feast it seems!

Spannertime · 03/05/2014 16:52

Hi ladies. After a particularly bad week I have been diagnosed as having ante natal depression and anxiety disorder. Long story short but I had to go to hospital and I am currently under a crisis team who support me at home. Also just started taking fluoxetine. I tried my best to go it alone with out my anti depressants but sadly failed. Feel like I am failing everyone actually. Anyway I am making slow progress towards feeling better. I had another scan last week and little one is putting up with my anxiety so far. I just want my sparkle back.

I hope you are all avoiding the blues and are being supported by good friends and family. I've started cross stitching (badly) but it takes my mind off things.

Here's to bigger and better days.

alita7 · 03/05/2014 17:06

great scan news! can't see the pics either but will look later :)

I can't feel anything yet but this is number 1 so not expecting to for a while :)

we told the kids today :D they're excited :) but arguments about names have ensued! It's hard enough for me and dp to agree on anything let alone when other people are saying I'm not calling it that etc

alita7 · 03/05/2014 17:06

oh and spanner I hope you're getting lots of tlc and support!

Spannertime · 03/05/2014 17:14

My husband has been a total legend. And I have had some fairly good support from the crisis team although they cancelled my doctors appointment three times so I was in limbo for a while. Friends have also been wonderful. I am very lucky in that respect.

WheresMrMonkey · 03/05/2014 17:28

So glad to hear your on the right road spanner.... What a tough time you have been having, a good friend had AND and with some sbyi depressants and talking therapy she was soon feeling a lot better and has gone on to have a beautiful baby girl and is a fantastic mother. I am sure the same will happen for you

weeonion · 03/05/2014 17:46

Spanner - you have done so well so far and this is the next stage of yr journey. You will get through this and have the right people behind you. There is an excellent thread on here for us mums to be with A.N.D.

You may have a local bluebell group or can also access buddy support from Pandas as well.

Spannertime · 03/05/2014 17:53

Bluebell and pandas? Are these support type groups? I might look them up thanks for the tips.

And thank you for the kind words. This really has been the shittiest couple of weeks. I thought I was the only one struggling. You've honestly made me feel better.

Spannertime · 03/05/2014 17:53

Onion I looked for the AND thread but couldn't find it. Can you link it here?
