Hi all,

New thread and probably our last in ante-natal.

Holy crap!

Congratulations Sereva!

Baby is just on the 10th centile. She's between the two lines on the graph - not one part, just small over all. Consistently measuring 3-4 weeks behind.

My bump has had a bit of a 'pop' in the past few days though, so I've totally convinced myself this means she's grown loads! Smile

ohcluttergotme · 15/05/2014 19:33

Congratulations Sareva! Xx

Zaxter · 15/05/2014 19:52

Wow - congratulations Sareva. Well done you.

nosey so they let you book in for MLU when you had had previous CS? that's interesting. And Lucky you. They have said a point blank no for MLU for me, said that the midwives that work there only want low risk as with previous cs I am not. It seems our choice locally is either home birth (which they are not keen on but have to support with midwives legally and local women are doing it) or the delivery suite. I am refusing the constant monitoring though as really don't want it and the consultant is seeming supportive with that so we will see how 34 week appt with same doc goes next week. Apparently I will also see a consultant midwife to talk through birth plan as I want to say no to their list of 'you have to have this' stuff.

Redcliff · 15/05/2014 20:07

Just wanted to add my congrats - very exciting news!

mylittlel · 15/05/2014 20:43

Congratulations, Sareva!! Good health to you and little one!

Notfastjustfurious · 15/05/2014 20:51

Wow sareva massive congratulations to you, hope you are well. How strange to have 3 35+5's in a row! Hope you had some nappies ready.

I'll be 35+5 next Friday so am going to start organising at the weekend, just in case. Must be something going on in there, I'm spending 90% of my day weeing.

chestnut I'm at AMH usually find I'm the only one way up here in the north east but major coincidence to have 2 dirty hospitals on the same day.

hackneybird · 15/05/2014 22:04

Congrats Sareva!

Redcliff · 15/05/2014 22:38

Moan alert - my feet are horrible - so swollen and sore. My shoes which are already a size bigger than normal have rubbed my toes red raw! I know it's this wether - I must be the only person hoping for a colder day tomorrow .

noseymcposey · 15/05/2014 23:06

zaxter I declined constant monitoring and have to sign a waiver to say that I won't sue them if it all goes wrong. As I've signed a bit of paper to say I'm ignoring their advice they said I might as well go to the MLU. The MW who did the appointment said 'I hope you get someone supportive down there' as sometimes they aren't keen so it may get the time and they might come up with a reason why I couldn't go in the pool. As it happens will probably be a CS now anyway! But my understanding was no continuous monitoring=no reason not labour in water!

jaykay987 · 16/05/2014 06:06

Congratulations savera!

chestnutmare · 16/05/2014 07:34

Same as me Notfast! I'm sure it will be fine though! Smile I work on the AMH site and the thing that bugs me is having to walk past all the smokers at the door of the maternity hospital!

Sussex31 · 16/05/2014 09:39

Congrats Sareva!

Sareva · 16/05/2014 12:17

Thanks for all the congrats. Well after my scan last Friday said baby was 4lb 13, he weighed 5lb 4 at birth! So not to far of. I'll probably be in hospital for a few days whilst they monitor blood sugars. That will give DH sometime to set up the crib!
So woke up 3.30 am Thurs thinking I had wet myself. Turns out my waters had broken. Called hospital who said come in. So I had a shower, got DD1 and 2 school outfits ready and left about 5am in a cab for the hospital as DH had to stay with the DDs and take them to school.
Was monitored at hospital at 630 by a dr who said waters had gone but my cervix was closed so they would keep me in for 24 hours obs. Anyway I had started having irregular contractions varying in time and strength.i went to the toilet at about 7am and had a clear out, then called DH and told him what dr had said, so he said he would be along after the school run. After this clear out my contractions starting coming every 5 minutes. I was still in triage at this point, finally buzzed for someone at 7.30 and they examined me and said I was 5cm. At that point I was like I need gas and air. Was taken to a delivery room and the rest is a gas and air induced fog, but at 8.50am I delivered him. Because my contractions ramped up I forgot to tell DH when I found out my cervix was in fact dialating. He turned up after the school run to find out he had a son Grin
No name as yet

Darksideofthemoon88 · 16/05/2014 13:09

Hey. Hope I'm welcome back here - haven't visited the antenatal clubs in months but thought it might be a good idea seeing as I'm 36+1 now! Amazing to read these birth stories - all so positive as well; it's stopped me worrying a bit Smile. Hopefully I'll be soon...

Stacks · 16/05/2014 13:21

Congratulations Sareva!

I've not been around much, don't feel I have much to say a lot of the time. With DS I also don't get much time in the day to post, and too tired in the evening usually.

Still, it's all getting very real now, with babies making their appearances (and early no less)! I need to seriously think about getting ready to meet baby, even though I'm only 34w. We're not at all prepared for this baby to come early. At the very least I need a hospital bag started.

MrsBon · 16/05/2014 19:10

Hearty congratulations Sareva and the others who have had their babiesGrin hope the mums n babies are doing well!
I am 35+2 today.. So it's wonderful to see some of these June babies are early.. Which reminds me to finish off the rest of the prep n packing!
The SPD has been gotten bad since the past few weeksConfusedone of the reasons I haven't really posted much in here. Thanks to all the ladies who keep this thread going!

ElizaB3 · 16/05/2014 20:02

Congratulations Sareva - and there you were saying how ready you were! ;)
Redcliff I have just soaked my feet in bowl of warm water & massage oils - highly recommend!

Zaxter · 16/05/2014 20:34

nosey thanks for the info about how your hospital treat it all. Apparently at mine (London) they have portable birth pools which they can use in delivery suite. The consultant was pretty supportive of no constant monitoring and said that the last two cs scar tears that they had showed nothing on the monitoring machine (which is their supposed reason for using it). For me, I want to move, and have a midwife pay attention to me and my labour (with baby heartbeat intermittently) rather than a machine. I am ok with the 1 in 200 risk when the machine doesn't actually stop the risk.

But, who knows - I might end up with another cs in the end anyway, it all changes at the last minute if it's anything like last time.

sareva well done you on getting the job done pretty swiftly just on gas and air. I hope that they are a friendly bunch at your hospital and that you both get well looked after.

I have only two new baby outfits. All of the other new baby stuff is in my parents loft miles away as we had no space to store it. The urgency to get it all the hell up here is mounting as babies start to arrive. 34 weeks tomorrow.

BaldHedgehog · 16/05/2014 22:05

Hello ladies:)

Sorry to barge in just now, came to this thread a while ago but didn't manage to keep up with the conversation-not enough time working and looking after very active toddler.

Congratulations to all of these who welcomed their little bundles, hope all is going well for you.

Bumblebeesmum I could have copied and pasted your post-exactly the same situation here-34 weeks, baby possibly breech and mw appointment yesterday. What's your outcome?I was told that if the baby is still breech at 36 weeks then I'll be sent for a scan and then…I don't know.

EDD is 24th of June, bracing myself for a July baby as DS was 2 weeks late but midwife said not necessary and might be different this time.will wait and see, hope this one is going to be in time otherwise I'll turn into psych bitch from hell like I did the last time.

Off I go,good luck to everybody :)

Gingerandcocoa · 17/05/2014 12:19

Hello everyone Smile

Haven't been around for ages, I found reading Mumsnet made me really anxious in the early days, so ended up avoiding it. Now I'm 36+2 and feel much less stressed (about the pregnancy anyway) and looking forward to meeting my baby.

I feel he will still be a while - not feeling BHs or anything different. He seems quite settled in my belly!

CleverOl10 · 17/05/2014 15:05

Hi to returning June bus pals! It's an exciting weekend for this group as we've had one baby born this morning and two more on their way by the end of the weekend! We are taking over the May bus!!!Grin

Mitchell2 · 17/05/2014 18:31

Just an update, Another baby born today - boy and very spooky both ladies were 37+5 ? days! Gillybillywilly and I'm not sure of the other persons MN name. Very exciting stuff!

Zaxter · 17/05/2014 20:46

Hey gingerandcocoa and stacks. Nice to see you both come back on. I was in the same boat - got a bit freaked by threads in early days (I was in denial until a few weeks back I think), and also was too exhausted by end of looking after toddler days to type.

More babies more babies - how exciting.

Bumblebeesmum · 17/05/2014 21:02

Baldhedgehog not only could you have copied my post but I am also busy with a toddler & practically same due date (26 June)!

My community midwife doesn't think the baby is breech. She said "oh I can see why they thought that, not as broad a bottom as most". Given my 1st baby had such a tiny bum he had to wear preemie nappies despite being an average weight - I am convinced. She will check again at 36 weeks but fingers crossed she's right.

I can't believe we've had 2 babies announced in the fbk group both 37+5. One seemed a v quick labour for a 1st timer too!

BaldHedgehog · 17/05/2014 22:41

Teeeheee! :)

Hope your baby is not breech Bumble. My midwife couldn't determine the position because the baby kept moving like mad,she even said "that's a lively one".DS was the same on the scan and is VERY active and bouncy. How old is your toddler?Mine will be 2yo in 3 weeks.

I can't believe all this discrepancies between the length of the pregnancy-how comes that some women give birth at 37 weeks and some have to wait till 42 and even longer?
