I am really super good at typos :) positive spin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/04/2014 20:58

I'm at the theatre and had to race the old dears for the toilet in the interval Grin feeling verrrrry pukey as well, ugh.

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 21:09

Punky be careful if they have lambs/sheep at the farm! Sounds like fun though, I love taking DS to the farm!

Sesseh good luck with the scan! You must be so excited to see your little bean. Got a little bit of Envy here!

Peace you just made me laugh! Grin

Welcome ots. How are you feeling?

ImBrian · 24/04/2014 21:19

Finally got myself to the docs to register with a mw and was told I had to do a pee test to be sent off to the lab Hmm
Results won't be back till late Tuesday!!! So now I'm worrying about my hook effect and what if it comes up negative and they don't believe me! I'm 9 weeks so need to see a mw soon to get scans sorted. Apparently once it's confirmed they give me the mws number who organises to come to my house. This is the first time in all 5 babies it's been like this, is anyone else's doctors similar?

Bettycakes80 · 24/04/2014 21:23

Anyone else with terrible nausea tried the anti sickness wrist bands? I started feeling terrible nausea without actually being sick about a week ago and I've been wearing them non stop since then. It may all be in my head but if I take them off I start feeling sick again!

oohdaddypig · 24/04/2014 21:34

imbrian I thought the pee test was to check urine for infection rather than pregnancy. Only because they would just do the pregnancy test there and then. Are sure they were testing hcg?

bettycakes your sickness is just like mine. Horrendous nausea. The wrist bands work for me too. I have also discovered that manically chewing gum also helps. Wish I had known in previous pregnancies! My temples are actually sore from chewing 15 hours a day but heck it's better than the nausea!!

monkeybaby2 · 24/04/2014 22:10

I'm very lucky and have escaped ms with my first and so far with this one too. My Mum however had it bad, and she said nibbling ginger biscuits before she got up in the morning helped loads as ginger also helps combat nausea. Worth a go bettycakes, oohdaddypig and Peace?

oohdaddypig · 24/04/2014 22:15

Thanks monkey sadly they don't work for me although I have heard they do for others! All I could face for dinner tonight was a Chinese :)

Penguin13 · 24/04/2014 22:37

I'mBrian I think hpt can cope with a lower amount of hcg than tests at the doc so you should be fine.

littlegreengloworm · 24/04/2014 22:40

Hello, I am really worried. My friends baby has chickenpox and I nursed her and fed her a bottle on Monday. Found out today.

I'm nearly eight weeks and have a baby too. Work in a school but not back yet. Will I be ok?

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 22:50

littlegreen have you had chicken pox before? If you have there is nothing to worry about, apart from your DC getting it of course.

ots · 24/04/2014 22:52

I'm feeling fine at the moment thanks poly. Slightly shaky and lightheaded today but I think that is just because of the shock.

Hope everyone else is doing ok :) Thanks

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 22:55

ots I had the big shock with my DS. DH didn't speak for 2 days! When it sunk in though we were both over the moon. It took a while though. Hope you're feeling a bit less shaky tomorrow.

ots · 24/04/2014 23:00

I only tested today to put our minds at rest, as I was 4 days late. I rang DH at work and he just kept saying but how?! He came home early as he couldn't concentrate!
We were planning on trying for DC2 soon anyway but its still a big shock. Don't think I'll ever trust Microgynon again? Grin

littlegreengloworm · 24/04/2014 23:01

Yes I've had it before. Well it harm the baby (unborn baby) ?

Also worried about my DS,he is very young too

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/04/2014 23:02

I feel fine in the morning when I wake up, just comes in waves through the day, usually after I eat, thinking about it! Haven't been physically sick yet though.
TMI alert! I've had mega sore nipples today (concentrated there rather than all over as it has been) and tonight I noticed little white bumps on them. That sound about right to anyone who has had a baby before? I'm so thankful for these symptoms because I'm much less paranoid today.
Hope everyone is well - glad I made you laugh Poly Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/04/2014 23:02

Ah that first bit was in response to Monkey about ginger :)

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 23:29

Littlegreen I'm not expert but I thought if the Mom had already had it, it wasn't dangerous to baby. It might be worth checking though. I had shingles when I was pg before and everything was fine.

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 23:33

I just checked the nhs website and it does say you are safe if you've already had it as you are immune. NHS chicken pox

dottytablecloth · 25/04/2014 04:06

Is anyone else finding their sleep is really disturbed? I'm wakening every night about 1-2am and not being able to get back to sleep.

Also feeling extremely emotional which is unlike me. Sad

DrewsWife · 25/04/2014 07:59

Dotty. I'm emotional too. Absolutely teary or full of rage. Lol. Unsure about the sleep thing. I work nights.

Sheilathegreat · 25/04/2014 07:59

Dotty I'm exhausted. My sleep pattern is awful. Up every few hours. Sometimes I need the loo other times just cos my brain is racing. Last night was particularly bad esp because I'm facing a weekend with two DC on my own as DH is away.... its going to be a long two days!

Penguin13 · 25/04/2014 07:59

Yes Dotty! My sleep is completely messed up. Aside from getting up to pee I've just been so restless. Sorry you're suffering too. I normally start getting sleepy around 6.15 when I have to get up for work. Was hoping for a lie-in today as I have my booking in appointment at home but my body had other ideas. 4.30 you say? Let's just wake up now and stay awake. Argh!

Sheilathegreat · 25/04/2014 08:08

My insomnia was petty bad with DC2 so bad my sleep improved immensely was he was here. Who ever would have thought having a newborn baby would help you sleep? Confused

Ladylel · 25/04/2014 08:22

betty I'm 8w+4 and started wearing wristbands at 6w felt so much better. I don't wear them constantly like I first did. 24/7 and took them off about a week ago so wear them when travelling in car more than anything. Defo helped.
dotty I thought it was just been constantly exhausted like I've been uber active but I clearly haven't, got a virus ATM so everything feels worse than it should.
penguin I sleep well enough but always wake up to pee at the same times between 1:30 and 3:30Am.
Emotions wise, seems that everything sets me off. Not that I was made of stone before but now it's simple gestures on TV, adverts even and I'm like wahhhhh OH has been great but likes to point out when I am being over emotional and extra horrible to him , gets a bit annoying when I then get told Im being mean when I know I'm not and he's just taken something I've said the wrong way = more annoyance trying to explain myself! (Can't win)
