Huge congrats again xav! beautiful pic on fb - what a cutie!!

have been reassured by many people that bump is still far to high for bushbaby to be on his way soon so seems like he's listening to my instructions to stay put! getting the occasional fanny-dagger though so think he must be bobbing up and down!

had second hypnobirthing session today which have been really lovely and I hope will help with everything, have also had the birth pool delivered - visit from the community mid-wife tomorrow so if all is well for home birth we'll have to do a trial run with the pool soon! exciting!!

hugs to all who need it - pgp/restless legs/night hunger etc! I feel very lucky that all seems to be going smoothly... just need to stop procrastinating on MN and finish up this report I'm working on so I can have some proper down time!!

Hope all goes well with the growth scan junior... Thanks

Choppa · 23/04/2014 14:36

Spirael and bush...great to hear about your plans coming together for home birth. We dug our pool out yesterday and blew it up. Looks great after 5 years and being stored in various garages/ attics. Just needed a quick wipe over and we are good to go! Midwife came yesterday and dropped off box of goodies :) looking forward to it now....kind of.

Lots of thoughts to those struggling with sleep. I seem to have one good night and then a bad one (really painful hips) it's really odd as there is no rhyme or reason for it! Not long now for us!!

moas · 23/04/2014 15:41

Congratulations Xav and well done!!
nanny if you get a chance to read, just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and Poppy!

Had scan with consultant today. One kidney is a bit bigger than the other, has some fluid in it, but she is not concerned. Said the paediatrician will follow up with a scan once baby is born but it doesn't change the birth plan and it could very well turn out to be nothing/benign. I swear I will not Google!! Everything else looks fine.
She offered me a sweep on Monday, will be 39 weeks by then. Has anyone had one? Bit nervous but very excited! Want to meet this baby now!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 23/04/2014 16:00

This question is tmi but I have nowhere else to ask ....

I'm day 9 after elcs and yesterday and today my blood loss has become a bit heavier and I passed a clot, does anyone know if this is normal? I'm expressing so wondered if this could be something that goes hand in hand?

MoominAndMiniMoom · 23/04/2014 16:13

Not sure if my experience is any use because I didn't have c section but I'm still bleeding heavily and passing clots at 13 days, the midwife said its normal and blood loss will get better and worse on and off for up to 6 weeks.

dobedobedo · 23/04/2014 16:25

Just thought I'd share a wee tip with you, from the midwife that ran our antenatal class last night:

After you have your baby and you have visitors, don't get dressed for them, and don't have perfect hair and makeup. If people think you are struggling to cope, they'll be more useful to you! Grin

loopylou52 · 23/04/2014 16:28

Good news that the consultant isn't concerned moas. My current moto is - if they're not concerned then I don't need to be.

Sorry I can't help re bleeding ohdear, but hope you're doing ok.

MoominAndMiniMoom · 23/04/2014 16:48

Grr I am fuming!! This older guy at OH's work has been behaving awfully towards him and others, making sexual comments and grabbing OH's crotch when he walks past, and making comments to the other staff too. people have complained but he gets away with it because the bosses say that's just his age, just the way he is etc, which is bad enough but I digress, OH doesn't want to rock the boat but says he will complain in a group.

Last night OH went back to work, the guy grabbed his crotch again before having a go at him for no reason. one of the other workers said 'lay off him, he's just become a dad'. the guy to the huff and said "yeah right, the baby probably isn't even his" before storming off!

I'm blaming hormones for the fact that I'm torn between storming into the shop and tearing the man a new arsehole, and wanting to cry and eat chocolate because comments like that are fucking hurtful!! but it isn't hormones, I am so offended and more than that I'm furious that he's being allowed to get away with sexually harassing my OH even though OH has complained to the bosses.

sorry for the selfish rant, I'm just fuming!!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 23/04/2014 16:56

Moomin!! I have rage for u!! I'd tell them fickers to shove their job up their arse and not go back!!

How inappropriate and disturbing that the boss thinks that behaviour like that is allowed!

Twats

moobaloo · 23/04/2014 17:07

Grrrr Moomin! The angry pregnant mob is behind you once more! If I was your Dp I'd tell him to Fuck Off firmly - but I am particularly aggressive right now Hmm how v rude of the idiot! you are right to be offended and cross! Can he complain to higher up staff members by phone etc if his bosses are doing nothing?

Dobe - love that tip! Def going to use it!

Good luck with growth scan junior - I had mine today and despite bump being small baby is perfectly normal on measurements and estimated weight is normal too - 5lb 12oz! Eek there's a real baby in me! I'm 36+2 and can't wait to hold my baby! Actually looking forward to labour!

kally195 · 23/04/2014 17:15

moomin your DP would be well within his rights to take that to the police as assault. Or at least to tell his management that if they fail to take action he will. Completely unacceptable. What would they do if the wanker was grabbing female employees' breasts?

loopylou52 · 23/04/2014 17:30

My God moomin, that is shocking! I can't believe the boss isn't doing anything about him sexually abusing other employees! Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry on your behalves. I would also say your oh should walk out but I can appreciate it's not as easy as that.

Great news on the scan moobaloo! Smile

randdom · 23/04/2014 18:11

Moomin that is awful. He should really be escalating things. Does he work for a big chain?

Have just finished my last shift at work. Struggling to know what to feel really. I am glad because I am shattered but the idea of not being at work leaves me feeling terrified :(

NannyPlumForPM · 23/04/2014 18:22

Will update soon. Reading but no time to post ATM, thanks for all kind words! Well done xav xxx

bushprincess · 23/04/2014 18:57

nanny really hope you and poppy are OK - looking forward to the update when you have time but just know we're all thinking of you xx

moas so glad consultant is happy with what they saw on the scan - hope you can take reassurance and enjoy the home stretch!

moomin second Kally, he'd be within his rights to take such sexual assult to the police. Hope his bosses deal with it now.

ohdear hope you're ok - if you're atall worried can you ask your midwife/health visitor or even NHS direct?? better to ask than worry un-necessarily?

congrats on finishing work random try and enjoy it and get some rest before the next big adventure starts!!!

evening all - just been down on the beach with the dogs in the sunshine - coming home is wonderful (apart from missing DH more and more by the day!)

xxx

SarahJinx · 23/04/2014 20:04

Shallow Post Alert I don't have a changing bag yet! Do y'all? And if so, which??

I am bag queen in my usual life, how have I forgotten??

Moomin agree with the others, hate that people have to put up with that shit, report him higher up if poss?

Bush it makes me teary to think of you walking dogs pining for DH, it must be terribly difficult, ((())) for you.

SarahJinx · 23/04/2014 20:07

ohdear have you possibly been doing too much? Or just more today? Its totally normal to bleed heavily for a while, and for it to ebb and flow like that, with big clots. However, if it doesn't ease off again talk to cmw team, or gp.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 23/04/2014 20:10

Yeh think I'm doing too much I think I'm acting as normal without the lifting

moobaloo · 23/04/2014 20:19

Looking forward to update Nanny, hope you're all keeping well xxx

Oh dear, get some rest! Pronto!

Sarah - I have this

www.bababing.com/shop/products/daytripper.htm

Which is fab! Ok I've not used it yet, but I've got it all kitted out with stuff in and can't wait it use it! It's pricey new but I got mine second hand on eBay in really good condition and having received it and had a play with it I would pay full price for it as I think it's so good! Might as well have a good bag!

SarahJinx · 23/04/2014 20:55

Ohdear that'll be it, right there. Nest on down with that gorgeous boy and try to take it easy. Your body was pregnant for almost ten months, it isn't going to be 'normal' in ten days...

That bag is niiiiceee. It's a minefield, I liked the last one I had but it was way too big, can't believe I've totally overlooked!

impatientlywaiting · 23/04/2014 20:59

Hi all, hope you are well.

Quick question for those whose babies haven't arrived yet. Where are you feeling the baby? Up until the last week I've always felt movements on one side at a time, and been able to feel from my stomach that the baby is lying on one side. Midwife has always said baby was head down too. But for the past few days I've felt like he is transverse and I'm feeling kicks on both sides of my stomach at the same time and he seems to be at the top of my stomach, near my ribs. Would it be really unlikely that he'd turn transverse this late on (I'm 39 weeks today) Also would I be really uncomfortable if I had a transverse baby? I still feel fairly comfortable so maybe I'm just feeling something else and being paranoid? Have midwife app tomorrow anyway so not long to wait until she can have a feel and let me know a bit more.

moas · 23/04/2014 22:49

Great that you're seeing MW tomorrow, impatiently. I do get kicks on both sides simultaneously, I reckon what I feel is the kick/stretch at baby's bum and feet at same time, if that makes sense?
I have 2 friends who've had transverse babies recently and they say they were both very comfortable though! Fingers crossed yours is still head down!

ClearlyMoo · 23/04/2014 23:01

My baby has head engaged and cephalic with bum over to my left so I feel kicks just above belly button on RHS, sometimes movts on left but they are weaker or "bum" movts. Right now I feel like something is burrowing out of my pelvis down like a mole. Baby I'm happy for you to come now but don't toy with me!

Had a nightmare today sorry if TMI but forgot prune juice two days in a row and was soooo bunged up, it was agony! Anyway back to normal prune juice having effects. Phew. Bought grapes and dates to eat over next few days too!

randdom · 23/04/2014 23:11

Moobaloo we have the same bag :)

Spirael · 24/04/2014 09:15

I have two changing bags. [greedy] Grin For days out I have a huge Mylo changing bag from Mamas and Papas that I intend to reuse this time around. It fits perfectly in my Britax travel system, has lots of useful compartments and can handle my obsession with being over prepared.

Meanwhile, when I'm just popping out somewhere then I just use the free changing bag from Boots.

Moomin, I'd definitely get your OH to escalate! That sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable in any circumstances, but especially from a colleague in the workplace.

If the store managers aren't taking him seriously, then go higher up. Does he have a number or an email for head office? There will be a HR department and they will definitely have to take note and intervene.

In the meantime, maybe come up with some witty retorts designed to embarrass the guy and draw attention to what he's doing, to hopefully get backup from the others? "Can't find your own?" "Jealous?" "At least mine work." etc.

Two weeks to go until drop zone! Can't wait, starting to feel really heavy and uncomfortable now. I keep getting woken up with hip pain and my bladder is being squashed to the size of a thimble. Also, right now, feels like I have an octopus inside me. Hmm

MW confirmed that DD2 is head down impatientlywaiting, but I feel movements and prods pretty much everywhere now. Between all the feet, knees, elbows and hands she seems to be able to reach pretty much everywhere! Got a mean headbutt as well. She spins round so that sometimes she's facing front and sometimes she's facing back.
