McBaby · 24/04/2014 09:24

impatiently mini mcbaby turned transverse at 37+4 having been head down at all scans and appointments. I went from feeling generally uncomfortable to mega uncomfortable. Her head was a much harder firmer lump wedged in my ribs and the movement felt totally different! I found it much harder to feel movements except kicks in my cervix. As all her limbs were pointing down.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 24/04/2014 09:35

Awww dh has took ds to tesco! I think he intends to walk as I never let him push the pram! Grin

I intend to shower and return to bed

Xavielli · 24/04/2014 10:32

Thanks for the c

Xavielli · 24/04/2014 10:37

Thanks for the congrats :) he's lovely.

We got discharged at 2pm yesterday so are home safe and sound being terrorised by the bigger babies! I never realised how load they are lol.

The realities of new baby are all flooding back to me, the top few being 1) boobs are really annoying, 2) you will become obsessed with pooh 3) you are more than likely to end up swearing at your delicious baby in the middle of the night and 4) sneezing is bad.

CurlsLDN · 24/04/2014 11:38

Reduced movements today (38+1) :(

I've been up since 7am, and I have felt a few flutters from him, but nothing like as much as normal. I had a bath which usually sends him nuts, and nothing. Am now lying down on my left and eating a Lindt bunny.

I called the hospital but got an answer machine. So worried! To others who have had this, did they get you to go straight in for monitoring or did they make you wait two hours?

ohdearitshappeningtome · 24/04/2014 11:45

Just go in if worried! X

dobedobedo · 24/04/2014 11:49

curls I had this once and I was beside myself. Turned out to be for no reason, so I'm sure everything is fine with your baby. However get checked anyway, it's worth it a million times over just for your mental health!

Call the labour ward. Someone should answer. They'll ask if you've drank ice water, peed, changed position etc etc. If you have and nothing has made the baby move, they'll want you straight in to put a monitor on.

My baby has been moving less lately and I'm assuming it's because he's so damn big and cramped now, it's normal. But if I couldn't get him to move, I wouldn't think twice about going over to labour ward.
Keep us updated Thanks

MoominAndMiniMoom · 24/04/2014 13:19

Curls I had 3 episodes of reduced movement, they called me straight in every time. Don't sit in fear, definitely call the labour ward and go in.

Thanks everyone. It's a massive national chain but OH hasn't been given any information about how to contact people who are higher up and if he asked they'd want to know why. I really want him to escalate it though, it's not on. A couple of his friends at work have noticed it too and they've said if he carries on, they'll go as a group to complain - they can't ignore a group.

HV came today, she's lovely and kept commenting on how chatty Celyn is - she'll sit there and babble to herself all day Grin and she's now up to 7lb 10oz! Grin

CurlsLDN · 24/04/2014 13:24

Just finished monitoring, baby is fine, though he's gone back to back which is perhaps why he feels different. I'd better get on my ball!

My blood pressure is also 'borderline', which is a little worrying as I had indicators for preeclampsia earlier on. The midwife here has told me to get it checked on Monday, hopefully it's just the anxiety pushing it up!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 24/04/2014 13:26

Our hv just been she lovely!

moobaloo · 24/04/2014 13:58

Good news curls! Get on that ball though! Hope the bp is ok x

So nice to keep hearing how the maybies and their mummies are doing!!

Having had it really easy I am now finding pregnancy very uncomfortable. When I sit he digs into my ribs and when I walk I get painful tightening across the top and front of my bump and pressure in the middle above my belly button? Think this is his bum but why is he pushing outwards??! Walking is getting quite painful Sad will this improve when he is fully engaged? Only 1/5 last week

Hope you're all having nice days in the sun! If it's sunny where you are that is, it is here - I went without tights! So nice not to have to keep hoicking them up all the time!

impatientlywaiting · 24/04/2014 14:09

Thanks for all the info everyone. Midwife confirmed that baby is still head down. Phew!

Curls hope baby turns from back to back quickly. Glad that you got checked out re: movements quickly.

ClearlyMoo · 24/04/2014 16:57

Moobaloo do your notes say 1/5 engaged or 1/5 palpable. Mine say 1/5 palpable = pretty much fully engaged. I asked midwife if it ever goes 0/5 palpable and she said "only during labour".

I'm washing toys my friend leant us. They got them out of their loft and everything is mouldy Confused but I didn't notice when they gave us bags of them. Oooops. So I'm washing stuff that says "sponge clean only" and washing plastic toys/rattles etc in hot soapy water. It's all drying outside in the sun. It was so lovely of my friend to lend us stuff but washing it all makes me feel like a good Mum. Hopefully nothing will get broken.

Saw my parents today. Mum made the BUNTING! And the quilt. They are both gorgeous. Already up in our nursery that now looks like a nursery! Yay!

Hope you're all enjoying the sun!

bushprincess · 24/04/2014 16:58

so glad all is ok curls but hope he turns and your bp goes down (could it just have been the stress??) thinking of you!

xav so glad you're home safe and sound and hope all the rug-rats keep the noise down for you!

So my big news is..... I'm officially PREGNANT IN THE UK!!! I am now the proud owner of my own set of 'green notes' and have been cleared for a homebirth - Midwife was lovely - came to the house and was here for almost 3 hrs (catching up on 37wks of appointments!!!) She's really positive about homebirth and v.happy with everything.

Also.... bushbaby is fully engaged!! I'm know it can still be a while but am goign to tell DH to get a slightly earlier flight... will be lovely to have him here Smile

off to take the dogs for a w.a.l.k. (whispering so they don't go mental!) have a lovely sunny evening everyone!

ps nanny still thinking of you and hoping things are good Thanks

ClearlyMoo · 24/04/2014 17:57

Oh curls. I meant to say earlier that my BP was massively up when I went in for monitoring last week, but then fine again at MW appt on Tues. She said def anxiety related.

OP posts:
ClearlyMoo · 24/04/2014 18:38

Wow you lot are all quiet today. Hope everyone is ok, maybe everyone is in labour except me! I'm feeling really pathetic and a bit nauseous. I've been on the go all day, hanging curtains then pub lunch out then washing baby toys. I'm currently draped on sofa hiding from world feeling bleuerrgh. Second timers do you think I've just over done it?

OP posts:
Spirael · 24/04/2014 19:04

Sounds likely, ClearlyMoo. See if you feel better after a bit of a rest.

If it makes you feel any better, even second timers don't learn. Wink I'm shattered; today I've done five loads of laundry, deep cleaned three rooms, hung some curtains, been a taxi for DD and DH and generally been tidying and sorting. And now I'm paying for it with lots of BH and aching!

DH told me off. Blush But I want the house tidy before his DSis, her DH and DS (1.25 YO) visit this weekend!

MoominAndMiniMoom · 24/04/2014 19:17

Curls hopefully your BP will have lowered by your next appointment, but try not to stress over it too much - a) it'll only raise your BP and b) I was induced for high blood pressure and Callie is absolutely fine!

Mine was very high for me though, and accompanied by other signs of PE as they didn't even give me a chance to lower it; they just admitted me straight away and started the induction process, so please try not to worry.

dobedobedo · 24/04/2014 20:38

Curls glad your baby is okay!

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Still bloody pregnant Angry lol

I've done almost nothing today but I have swollen up to space hopper proportions. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow morning otherwise I'd give the midwife a call to check my BP. Dh has booked the day off work to come with me to the appointment. Afterwards we are going shopping for a few little bits - it's my last proper pay day! Everything from now on will be pennies maternity pay.

In non pregnancy related news, dh brought a steam cleaner home Grin

We are both so sad that we will probably spend the weekend steam cleaning everything! I've never had one before! Pathetic, aren't we? Grin

hobbjobb · 24/04/2014 22:33

Hi everyone, nice to hear you are all plodding along.

I've spent tthe last 3 hrs at the hospital on a monitor due to reduced movements but everything looks fine, I'm getting kicked now - little bugger!
The MW and doctors were all lovely and said its def the right thing to go up there

Big relief!

35+4 today

sambababy · 24/04/2014 23:09

Hello! I'm glad to hear those naughty babies that scared you to the hospital are all ok after monitoring. It's frightening isn't it!

We have some good news from this week's scan. Somehow mini samba's tummy has moved from 10th percentile to 50th in one week!! No idea how (did I really eat thaaaat much chocolate?? Hmm) and suspect it's more a case of ultrasounds being a bit inaccurate this late in the day, but it means for now there is no induction on the horizon, so I'm relieved.

After all this LO is going to be 8lb+, I bet you!

Sorry I haven't kept up with everything this week. Hope all the new babies are doing well and now I'm on maternity leave I shall be stalking daily for news. Who will be next? Grin

sambababy · 24/04/2014 23:12

Oh and I wanted to ask the swimmers, are you swimming even if you have painful spd? My groin pain is so much worse this past week (37+4) so I imagine the baby is moving down although they don't check that here. I don't know if I should swim even though it hurts Confused

ClearlyMoo · 24/04/2014 23:33

Samba. Yes I have continued to swim in spite of SPD. The main thing is to in no account do Breast stroke legs. Always kick with legs close together. Take it easy and slowly but it's still exercise. For me I can't really walk very far without pain so swimming is the one thing apart from gaviscon that makes me feel human! Great news about the baby's tummy!

OP posts:
sambababy · 24/04/2014 23:52

Thanks clearly! Think I will give it a go tomorrow. I haven't been in weeks but I feel like I need to do something. I walk like a snail!

loopylou52 · 24/04/2014 23:53

Great news about baby's growth samba. I agree the scans do seem a bit unreliable - our baby's head circumference went from below 5th percentile to above 20th percentile in two weeks! Maybe the babies do have funny growth spurts in different areas though.

Seems to have been an epidemic of reduced movements today. Mine was pretty quiet all day and I had to have an ice lolly and then some frozen yoghurt to get some decent movements. The sacrifices we make for our children eh? Wink
