Hi everyone, haven't posted on here for ages as hadn't reset my password but have kept up with the thread and have been posting on the FB page. So lovely to have so many babies already - and we're only on 6th May!!

Curls - hope things move along for you today!

SarahJinx, oh no, that must be really annoying when you've built yourself up to it! Can you do something nice today?

Moobaloo - fingers crossed it means something is happening!!

I still haven't had a single BH - or if I have I haven't realised! Feel like I'm missing out...! In fact, absolutely no symptoms whatsoever here, 38 + 3. Just sore hips still and can't walk very far.

Finished work Friday so today is first proper day of mat. leave. Felt very strange DH going off to work and me not rushing off to the tube too. Hospital appt at 10 today and then going for afternoon tea with some girlfriends which will be really nice.

JodeyP - I really feel for you about your rings. They have such meaning don't they, I would be devastated too. Lovely of your DH to think about having his made into two, what a sweetie.

Sending luck and love to everyone xxx

dobedobedo · 06/05/2014 09:28

curls sorry to hear everything is going slow. Hope it picks up for you soon!

moo I've been having lots of BH and often at night they're painful and seem to be getting into a regular pattern, then they stop. It's so annoying. I'm starting to feel like I'm just incapable of going into labour! Mind you, due date is 3 days away still.

They're going to offer me an induction on Friday too cos of spd, and I might just take it. Two sweeps haven't worked, despite me being 3cm dialated.

It's true that these last weeks seem longer than any other stage in pregnancy. Even the dodgy first twelve!

sarah hope you get your induction soon!

eggsnbeans · 06/05/2014 09:33

Congratulations on the new maybies Grin it's so exciting coming on to see who has popped overnight Wink Love the birth stories too!

Hope things are improving/speeding up for you curls

moo I've been having BH since about 15w! And whoever said they're not painful must be male!

potato hope you are feeling better about things, it's so hard to make that kind of decision but such a relief once you do.

JodeyP A friend of mine had the same... found her rings months later under the mattress, must have come off when she was putting the sheet on. Have you worn gloves at all lately? Or got a jacket with a hole in the pocket that they could have fallen through? I know that horrible sinking feeling you must have in your stomach though Sad

Good luck to anyone due to pop imminently Wink

sambababy · 06/05/2014 10:16

I return as a mummy! Grin Sofia was born at 39wks on Sunday 3pm, 6lb, water birth. I'll post a full birth story when I'm not typing one-handed because of said DD1! It's 6am here and she's now sleeping for the first time all night Confused

Congrats too to impatiently & junior! Good luck curls & Sarah xx

ohdearitshappeningtome · 06/05/2014 10:23

Samba!!! Congrats xxxxThanks

ClearlyMoo · 06/05/2014 10:28

YAY Grin CONGRATS Samba! That's wonderful news!

Congrats impatiently and erm oh pants I'll have to look and post again in a minute!

Hang on in there Curls! It will arrive soon!

My BH have upped their ante recently. Gets me all hopeful. Just had my daily half pineapple. Even went for a walk with DH yesterday, just down our field but still! Was in pool at 7.15am and did 24 lengths. Not bad for 39+3 I think.

Midwife appt today. The one who 4 weeks ago thought I was about to pop! Think she'll be surprised to see me, she was very surprised 2 weeks ago!

DH brought rocking crib in to nursery. Just so we've got somewhere to put baby down in there when changing nappy etc. it's a bit dusty. Needs a good clean. We have mattress from nephew who is 10 months, he used it for 4 months so I'm washing cover and washing foam mattress in bath. I know about SIDS risk etc, it's only really going to be a "holding bay" for baby, as we have new mattress in carry cot and bednest where baby will sleep most of time. If I find we want to use rocking crib more, we'll invest in another new mattress!

hobbjobb · 06/05/2014 10:40

Congrats samba what a lovely name xx

SarahJinx · 06/05/2014 10:59

Congrats Samba, beautiful name and wonderful news x

MasterFlea · 06/05/2014 10:59

Congrats Samba. Beautiful name

I hope you are recovering well and enjoying your snuggles.

Hope things get moving for you Curls. Every contraction is one less and one step closer to meeting your baby.

loopylou52 · 06/05/2014 11:04

Fantastic news samba, congratulations!! And 6lb is a great weight after all the concern about her size. I'm really jealous cos we had the same due date and no signs of anything happening here anytime soon. Doesn't stop me symptom spotting though - was just starting to feel really sick, which I know can be a sign, so started to wonder... then realised breakfast was over 3 hours ago and I was actually just hungry! Doh!

Ditsydebs · 06/05/2014 12:10

39+4 today and getting really fed up! Previous two were born day before due date and just into due date so hoping this one follows suit but got a horrible feeling we are going to be kept waiting!
Baby was very very active over the weekend which has made me paranoid that she has changed position again, but today she is quiet so hoping she is still head down and gearing up for the birth! I really should make the most of these last few days of sleep and rest but desperate to meet her and my husband is even more impatient than me!

Huge congratulations to the newest may babies! Hopefully we will have a few more this week!!

Any ideas if my midwife will offer me a sweep when i see her on my due date if baby hasn't arrived?

Hezbean · 06/05/2014 12:20

Congrats Samba! Gorgeous name and glad you got your water birth. Hope she settles in nicely and you get a bit more sleep soon :)

ClearlyMoo - seriously impressed at your swimming! I just went to my antenatal appointment and feel knackered just from walking about. Great that you're keeping so fit. I can't wait to get back to the gym in a few weeks time, and get out for some nice long walks with bambino.

Midwife appt was fine this morning, all is well, but I'm a bit confused - I asked whether the head had engaged yet and she said she thought about 3/5 down, and that it probably wouldn't pop up again. But when I looked at my notes when I got home it said "free". Any ideas what that means?

MoominAndMiniMoom · 06/05/2014 13:02

Congrats Samba!!! Gorgeous name and so glad you got your water birth :)

Curls that sounds so much like my induction! They were delayed in breaking my waters, so I'd been having contractions for over 48 hours by the time they broke my fore waters (and then they found out my hind waters had already gone, I just hadn't told them because I thought I was peeing myself Hmm ), but it is soooo so worth it!

Hez... hmm that's confusing. 'Free' means not engaged at all, but 3/5 down means you're quite engaged (I think... unless 'down' and 'engaged' mean two different things?). Maybe she's written it by accident? A lot of people have gone through their notes and found incorrect information.

Good luck everyone still waiting or somewhere in the murky depths of labour!

Celyn will be four weeks old on Thursday, and it'll be a month since she was born on Saturday! Where has the time gone, my little girl is so active and alert and lovely :) they think she may be lactose intolerant, but we're waiting to get a GP appointment to start the process of ruling everything out.

Hezbean · 06/05/2014 13:14

Thanks Moomin! I am v confused. Oh well, I just keep telling myself it'll come when it's ready. 40 week appt booked for due date next Sat assuming no arrival by then. They said they can give me a sweep if I want one, so I'll see how I feel!

Can't believe Celyn will be 4 weeks old, that has gone so quickly! It sounds like you're getting on really well. Did you figure out a date to take her home yet? xx

MoominAndMiniMoom · 06/05/2014 13:26

Hez Can never predict these babies. I thought I'd go over to 42 weeks and yet she came at 37 - nothing's guaranteed! 3/5 engaged sounds really positive though, and I'd go based on what the midwife's said rather than what she's written.

You're Team Yellow aren't you? Any inkling either way as to baby's sex? It's all so exciting Grin

Yep we sorted it - OH is in my good books, he went to his boss and said he was feeling overwhelmed and homesick, and asked for Saturday off, so we're going from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon! I'm so excited Grin

Vikks · 06/05/2014 13:27

Congratulations Samba! Beautiful name and can't wait to hear about the water birth (I'm hoping for one too).

Curls Good luck and hang in there. Things can change very quickly x x

Sending labour vibes to the rest of us!!! Come on babies we want our cuddles. Grin Grin Grin

Choppa · 06/05/2014 13:40

Congrats Samba! Lovely name too. Look forward to hearing your birth story when you get time.

Nothing happening here at 39+1. Hips killing me a night and struggling to sleep so feel too tired to do anything in the day. Moan over...take care all and thinking of those in hospital or awaiting induction

Xxx

Chip86 · 06/05/2014 13:45

Ditsy they might if baby is big or your holding water or BP high, i have had two first one they could not do anything, baby due on friday have an appointment on monday incase she still not hear for another sweep

Hez some one said 0 was score at birth 1 was could feel head so 3 is engaged but not very if that makes sense but at least baby in the right direction

Moomin so glad you get to go home how lovely for you, hope GP sorts lactose out for you soon

just been for a waddel to my local shop lady asked when you due i said friday then everyone looking at me going Friday all panicked looked, lady said quick pay and go home dont have it here hehehe very funny

told DM i was having strange pain like need the loo (tmi) pressure like a number 2 she said thats good think she will be here by Wednesday i do hope so Grin

dobedobedo · 06/05/2014 14:13

chip I've been having that today. Like a deep pressure downwards. It doesn't hurt though, but it's very noticible. We're due date buddies too... Maybe we'll both go into labour at exactly the right time! hopeful face Grin

Hezbean · 06/05/2014 14:58

Moomin so glad you got that sorted, bet you can't WAIT to show her off to everyone!!

We are team yellow - if I had to guess I might say boy but only because everyone seems to be telling me that as I'm carrying out front and not round the sides! I think that's just my build though...! Two different random men have shouted "it's a boy" at me at the same place on our road, which was a bit peculiar! Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl now though, and we have names for both. It's all getting very real!

Hezbean · 06/05/2014 15:03

Chip and Dobe - fingers crossed for you!!

Chip86 · 06/05/2014 15:07

Dobe how exciting would that be yay any day now

dobedobedo · 06/05/2014 16:14

Guess which preggo brained eejit showed up to pick ds up from school an hour and a half early?! Blush

Oh well. I killed time by having a waddle walk around boots and stocked up on more maternity and breast pads and also, the main thing new mums need according to you lot, dry shampoo! Smile

Bezzabelle · 06/05/2014 17:19

For those that have had their babies and it's their 2nd-how are you finding it going from 1 to 2?? Since being on mat leave, I've realised how much of my time ds takes up in the day and wondering how I'm going to look after newborn as well especially as remember the early days when taking a shower/eating a meal was hard (least with toddlers, you can sit them in front of cbeebies for 20 minutes!)
