Huge congrats juniormint I hope you are both doing well xxz

dobedobedo · 05/05/2014 02:20

Congratulations juniormint! Can't wait to hear the details!
Hope you're managing to get some sleep on the ward curls. Or maybe your labour is kicking off now and you can't! Either way, good luck! Smile

Sorry to hear jodie and ohdear are having hard days. Giant unmumsnet hugs to you. Thanks

I can't sleep. I want to lie down but I can't because it will hurt so much with the spd. I'm also getting painful and irregular contractions, but that's not unusual as I get them pretty much every night and they always fade away into nothing. So annoying!

I've kinda always thought this baby would be born on 5th May too. Don't know why. Probably cos dh and I got engaged on 5th May so it sticks in my head.

Right. I'm rambling. Going to try and sleep.... Confused

impatientlywaiting · 05/05/2014 06:29

Congratulations Juniormint, Alice is such a lovely name.

Good luck Curls. Not long to wait now. It's so exciting.

Choppa · 05/05/2014 07:07

Congrats juniormint! Looking forward to hearing your birth story soon.

Jodey...I lost my wedding ring in the house somewhere 2 years ago. Similar story to yours. Took it off to do some cleaning and put it by the TV. Then it had gone! Think DS was the culprit but he was too little to understand. Turned everything upside down and cried a lot but it never turned up! After a few months we invested in another ring and I now love it but I still live in hope that my old one will surface at some point in the future.

Potato...great that you have made the decision about ff. it really is a weight off isn't it? I'll be seeking help earlier if needed this time and switching to ff earlier if necessary. Too much guilt and pumping last time and I missed out on enjoying time with my newborn. Good for you. When I switched I just expressed less and less over the course of a few days to gradually reduce supply and then went cold turkey using the methods that Moomin mentions below. Only took a few days to feel better.

Ohdear...you really don't need to be worrying about friends when you have your lovely baby to be looking after. A real friend will be there for you as you need her when you have a newborn. A really close friend of mine had a baby a year ago and we have barely seen each other since (not through want of trying on my part). But I have realised that we won't have babies forever and our friendship will evolve as the kiddies grow and we get more time back for ourselves. She'll get in touch when the time is right I'm sure.

Had another busy day here yesterday. Festival on in town and DS had a massive meltdown and oh ended up carrying him home with me hobbling behind!! Still no symptoms or signs here. I think I'll go to due date ish (12th). Baby still quiet this last few days. Still feel him moving but not as vigorous or as often. Will keep any eye on it but I just want him out now safe and sound :(

SarahJinx · 05/05/2014 08:03

Morning all. It's my due date today! Had a bit of a show yesterday so was hoping for some action, but nothing, not a sausage so tomorrow's induction is on unless things kick off today!

ohdear that's dreadful, I totally understand, it happened to me too straight afterwards last time, and it was the one person who I thought could help me through (pnd and all sorts) we still don't speak, I needed him and he wasn't there, too much to forget.

Congrats Junior can't wait to hear all about it. Alice is in our top five for girls too, beautiful!

Potato good for you, Choppa is so very right that at this point, relaxing and enjoying your baby is much, much more important, and definitely much more beneficial - happy, chilled out mummy much more valuable than stressed out, knackered bf'ing mummy in my opinion.

curls hope you got some sleep, thinking about you!

clearly I'm breathless too, mw says its baby lying on vena cava (sp) or something in certain positions, mine is rally high up in my ribs so constantly leaning back/stretching to get enough breath in.

Until tomorrow ladies, enjoy your bank hols x

loopylou52 · 05/05/2014 10:41

Huge congratulations junior, looking forward to hearing more about it when you have time. Thinking of you today curls.

Sorry to hear about the rings jodie, that's awful. Hope they turn up today. Ohdear, sorry to hear your friend is letting you down. Hope you can focus on you and ds for now and not dwell on it too much - hopefully she'll come through for you in the end. Could she just think she's giving you some space at the moment or something?

loopylou52 · 05/05/2014 10:46

Also, happy due date sarah!

clearly - I often feel out of breath even when laying on my left. I find it helps if I arch my back slightly to open my airways a bit better and give baby a bit more space. Last night I was dreaming about what it will feel like afterwards to lay on my back with my legs stretched and able to breath. Hopefully not long!

Chip86 · 05/05/2014 11:15

Congratulations junior on your little girl lovely name

ohdear sorry to hear your having problems with friends they will come back one day but you have a beautiful little boy to enjoy

mummytobe88 · 05/05/2014 12:32

Sorry to hear of those who are having a hard time at the mo, the light at the end of the tunnel is finally in sight for everyone! Here's hoping we have lots more babies arriving soon.

Just thought I would give you all an update on the sleeping situation. After setting up the snüzpod last night and giving it a bash, Olivia slept brilliantly!! I would definitely recommend co-sleepers seems to have done just the trick. Fingers crossed it stays that way Smile

impatientlywaiting · 05/05/2014 13:35

Happy due date Sarah.

SarahJinx · 05/05/2014 15:08

Thanks ladies x

randdom · 05/05/2014 15:46

My husband and some of our friends are painting the nursery! So exciting!

JodeyP · 05/05/2014 16:54

random, my DH started painting today too. Just had it all plastered so only a white coat at the mo but at least things are moving in the right direction.

Choppa, thank you for making me feel that I'm not alone in losing something so precious. Fingers crossed it will turn up. DH has suggested having his ring melted down, as it's quite thick and chunky and making two bands which is sweet, bless him. He said he was going to surprise me with an eternity ring after baby was born too which made me cry, again, but happier tears. It's just horrible losing something that has so much meaning.

Huge congratulations juniormint on the birth of your precious wee one. Looking forward to reading more baby news and getting really excited knowing I only have a maximum of 2 weeks and 4 days to wait.

All my bags are packed and ready for action but at last appointment, head still hadn't dropped into pelvis so not expecting anything too soon.
Still got to purchase a baby monitor which is next and hopefully last on the shopping list, apart from gender specific clothes as everything is cream or white at the mo. Still got lots of boy stuff from DS1 but have absolutely nothing girlie. My sister has only boys stuff too as we are boy heavy on both sides of the family.

moas · 05/05/2014 23:05

No action here this evening? Everyone in front of the snooker? It sure was a good game. Been a while since I posted, massive congratulations to everyone who have had their lovely little ones!

sarahjinx best of luck with your induction tomorrow! It was my due date today too. Having another sweep tomorrow morning and really hoping to get going in the next few days.

It hit me earlier that I might have a major operation next week if nothing kicks off, felt scared and unprepared! I've spent so much time mentally preparing for a possible vaginal birth that I haven't really thought about what it would be like to have surgery again (can't be induced because of EMCS last time). Feel like a wimp.

Also a bit worried about blood pressure as it was high last time... Hopefully they won't want to keep me in tomorrow. Nervous all over... Feel like I've been overdue for ages, yet i was only due today. Hope to get some sleep. Take it easy, ladies!

moas · 05/05/2014 23:28

Oh, and a question for those of you in the know, do real labour contractions make your womb go rock solid like Braxton Hicks?

CurlsLDN · 06/05/2014 06:27

Morning all. Still at the hospital, still no baby! I'm on a ward of four beds and I must have seen at least 25 women come in and go off to give birth, it's so disheartening.

The first propess didn't work, so they put another straight in at 3.30pm yesterday. I've been contracting pretty much the whole time (34 hours now!) but just don't seem to be getting very far. I've been trying to be very calm and brave but I couldn't help having a big cry when they told me if have to do it all over again yesterday. At least I got a much better nights sleep last night as DH slept here on the floor and I got some codeine.

So, more waiting, walking and bouncing today until I get examined again at 3:30, at which point they'll break my waters and put me on a drip if possible, or give me a c-section. Baby is too comfy!

Chip86 · 06/05/2014 07:07

Moas im not sure but i think Labour feels just like Braxton Hicks except the contractions are regular and dont go away and they get more painful

curls sorry to hear you are having a long time of it lets hope it workes this morning at least you know some how you will end up with a little one tonight in your arms all the best

moas · 06/05/2014 07:10

Oh curls you are doing SO well! Don't let it get you down! Try to take your mind off it, there is nothing you can do other than let it happen when it will. Thinking of you and crossing my fingers for good progress today!

moas · 06/05/2014 07:11

Xpost.. Thanks chip!

loopylou52 · 06/05/2014 07:57

So sorry to hear about the slow progress curls. Fingers crossed once things get fully underway it'll all happen quickly for you. Your baby WILL be in your arms soon no matter what! Thanks

JodeyP · 06/05/2014 07:57

Bless you curls, I remember that disheartening feeling from DS1 when after every examination I was still stuck at 4cm! Lots of pain for no gain/progression. It's a real emotional roller coaster. I ended up with a section but by that point I just wanted him out safely. I think he was also just too comfy or possibly his head was too big to fit in my pelvis. Lol.

Wishing you lots of progression today and either way, you will be holding your precious bundle very very soon. Looking forward to hearing your baby news Thanks

Xx

SarahJinx · 06/05/2014 08:19

Ahh curls that's rubbish, I hope it isn't too painful?

My induction today has been postponed until tomorrow (hopefully), due to a backlog. Great.

And it's raining.

Grumpy Sarah.

McBaby · 06/05/2014 08:30

Curls it sound v similar to my induction a couple if weeks ago you will get there it just takes a while for your body to be tricked in to labour. Don't lose faith I had a few melt downs along the way from the pain and exhaustion. Keep your energy up with food and drinks - I drank countless bottles of lucozade to keep me going. Good luck you will have your baby very soon.

The propess I had fell out twice as the are notorious for being in the wrong position and moving away from cervix and therefore not delivering the full amount of hormone! Which can prolong that stage. They then broke my waters abd gave me the drip my body was not ready and took 36 hours to get in to labour ie to 4cm followed by a 30 minutes labour and delivery. So once your body gets there it can be very quick. 45 minutes before she was born I was put on the list for a c section and had a epidural in preparation it can all change v quickly.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 06/05/2014 08:42

Curls Thanks

moobaloo · 06/05/2014 08:45

Sending best wishes for speedy progress today Curls!

Good luck Sarah for tomorrow Sarah! What a pain they're making you wait Sad

And anyone else who's currently in the labour process!

My BH have started coming with period pains which I'm taking as a sign they're getting stronger and maybe closer to actual contractions?? Very irregular though. They can go on like this for weeks though can't they? Drat.
