Hezbean team yellow here too and "carrying forward" so everyone is convinced it's a boy. Who knows, very very exciting indeed.

Samba congratulations! Sounds like a dream birth, so happy your girl is here and such a good weight!! Well done!

Moan coming up. Angry
Had a really annoying day at hospital, first had to wait for over an hour and a half before I got seen, blood pressure was up again and wouldn't go down. Had another sweep, I'm exactly the same as I was a week ago, which seemed positive then and not so exciting today... Feels like all these false contractions are pointless??

Then they kept me in for trace of blood pressure and ctg, which was fine but then I had to wait for two and a half hours to see a doctor who could send me home. He was well jolly, kept laughing and saying "Darling, no problem, don't worry, I recon you have a 60-70% chance of vaginal birth". Still they want me in for more bp traces on Friday. I feel like the prospect of a vaginal birth is fading into this unattainable thing that will only happen if I manage to bypass all their tests and machines. Feel so monitored!
I KNOW, they just want what's best and safe for me and the baby yada yada yada.

Fed up! 40+1 (or 40+4 according to them and their machines)

Squiffie · 06/05/2014 19:42

Congrats Juniormint and Samba (hope I've not forgotten anyone).

Hope all is going well curls. X

Squiffie · 06/05/2014 19:52

Didn't refresh before posting - sorry you're feeling so crap moas. It's not great to be feeling under pressure and not in control. Hope things go as you want them too. X

rebeccax2 · 06/05/2014 20:01

Does anyone know if these strong short bursts of back pain (not sharp pain, but more muscular) are labour related? I mean they are not regular but happening more often... I feel soooooooooooo ready.

38 today. x

Hezbean · 06/05/2014 20:14

I'm not sure rebecca but it does sound promising - that they are in bursts....? How long do they last? How often? Fingers crossed it might be something!! X

MoominAndMiniMoom · 06/05/2014 20:32

Sounds promising rebecca, my contractions were mainly focused in my back at first, a really strong muscular pain. Then they moved into my legs :)

ClearlyMoo · 06/05/2014 22:54

Can't answer your question Rebecca sorry

Missed at least JuniorMint off my congrats list earlier, if not others so CONGRATS to all those with newborns.

Met my antenatal group today! 5/7 have babies and the other lady is in labour. Just me with no super cute squisher to cuddle.

Saw midwife sweep booked for Thurs 15th when I'll be 5 days over... In other midwifey news I have an irritable uterus! Hence the zillions of BH! Every time I stand up/go to the loo/baby kicks hard etc I get a strong BH! Apparently my uterus is "sensitive/irritable" and it's probably not meaning my cervix is doing anything. Anyone else got experience of this - McBaby perhaps did you mention this?!

Hope we all have good nights!

ALL THE LADIES WITH BABIES RECEIVE GIANT MUGS OF PROPER CAFFEINATED COFFEE/TEA FROM ME Brew AND EVEN A SNEAKY GLASS OF SOMETHING NAUGHTY Wine xxxxxx Flowers

Now onto my moan/information of the day, as I've been so absent from here!
Christening weekend away in Birmingham went really really well, I got lots of almost-newborn cuddles and now I'm a godmother Grin also DH and I got some much-needed time together. He really enjoyed himself which is great because I have a feeling he's going to be a daddy within a fortnight and he needs to make the most of his freedom haha!
I have been on The Dreaded Insulin (which really isn't that bad tbh, the finger pricks now require more psyching up than the injections haha) for a week today, my levels have been ok-ish but I've had a wicked bad cold so they've been up and down and whilst I was away I had to increase my with-meals quickie doses because I was so limited with food choices (buffet at christening for example was basically ALL CARBS and MiL only had white cobs for our lunch when we were there- v high glycaemic index - so my sugars went thru the roof) so I really don't know what they'll say...
My understanding was that if you're on insulin then they want to induce sooner rather than later, and before she knew I was on insulin my consultant had said I'd have a sweep at 37+4 and be induced in the week of 19th May, when I'll be 38+2...
Any ideas on what she'll say now? Speshly seeing as my levels have been all over the shop (but mostly within range) with this cold?

I WANT MY NEWBORN SQUISHIES FFS ugh I hate waiting ~impatient grumpy pregnant face~
But in good news I'm not swollen at all, lucky me!

36+4 today

kally195 · 07/05/2014 09:05

Morning all. Huge congrats to the new arrivals - you have all done so well xx

Still plodding on here - BH still going and I am starting to feel a bit like I am leaking - wonder of it is building up to a show.

We are team pink, but everyone was convinced it was a boy and still assume as I am carrying all at the front and quite high still.

Off to get pampered at hairdressers shortly - figure it's my last chance to spend 3.hours on a cut and colour for a while! Haven't had my hair cut since December and coloured since April 2013, so it really needs it!

Labour vibes to all xxx

moobaloo · 07/05/2014 09:49

Morning all

There are far too many pictures of gorgeous newborns on Facebook! I want one too!!

HUGE congratulations to all of the new mummies though! You're all doing so well!

Nothing to update here, I'm still pregnant, still having occasional BH and period pains but usually hours apart. No show as far as I'm aware of. Baby feels very comfy Hmm

Should be less impatient really. Am only 38+2!

MrsFC - no advice on the GD but hope it sorts itself out and someone can give you an answer!

Good luck Clearly hope you have a baby soon!

Kally, I enjoyed my last haircut so much I then had eyebrows shaped and tinted and a manicure! I usually hate being pampered with a passion, I only just cope with a hair cut usually! Think it's because I know it's the last one alone! Haha

Spirael · 07/05/2014 09:59

Morning all! Another one here loving all the newborn pics on FB. Grin I'm woefully behind and have no memory anymore, so a general congratulations to all who are now enjoying lovely cuddles with their LO!

Only got to keep my legs crossed for another 24 hours or so here, then the home birth team will hopefully have visited and signed me off to attempt a home birth. Apparently it's a full midwife appointment too, so they'll be taking my BP, assessing my usual sample and checking DD2's heartbeat in the lounge. A bit surreal.

Nothing in the way of niggles or anything yet here, so not much symptom spotting going on. But I'm only 36+5 and it's likely to be another week or so yet before any action at the earliest. In fact I'm under orders from DH to wait until at least next Tuesday, so he avoids a busy period at work by being on paternity!

I need to get the house tidy for the visit tomorrow, but I'm sleepy. Restless legs kept me awake until past midnight, then I had several toilet trips, my hips are still giving me agony and then the sun/heat woke me up at 5am. Bleeh... Think my plans today might include a nap!

randdom · 07/05/2014 10:27

Congratulations to all with new babies!

Quick question, if I remember correctly there are a couple of people who have OC. I have been having serious itching keeping me awake the last 2-3 nights (and before that it was there but not as bad) I have no rash or anything else but generally I am feeling as well as I would expect to be at this stage.

My husband keeps telling me that I need to get checked out but I am not exactly sure the best way to do that. I haven't got another midwife appointment until tuesday and it doesn't quite seem urgent enough to call triage. I don't have a direct contact for my community midwife... any suggestions?

ClearlyMoo · 07/05/2014 11:07

Random not an OC sufferer thankfully but know a few. I understand it can be itching everywhere but the trademark is itchy palms and soles of feet... hopefully someone more knowledgable will be along with some suggestions. If you're worried I would call a midwife. You should have a contact for the CMW team on the front of your mat notes, but failing that you could call your local day assessment unit (they sometimes have different names) or if you're stuck just call delivery suite. You must have their number as that's where you call when you're ready to pop! Delivery suite are geared up to answer queries and won't be shy to tell you to phone elsewhere. As with everything else you're better phoning and feeling silly (they definitely don't make you feel silly tho) than being at home worrying.

A friend with a two week old messaged me today with some advice that I'll share with you all:

She said "I was thinking last night if I had one more day of being pregnant what would I have done......the answer.....sleep!! Remember that!"

So I've immediately heeded her advice and grabbed an hour and a half post breakfast nap!!

Is turning over in bed agony for anyone else? I know I have SPD and so it's always been pretty bad but I guess it's mainly the weight.. I have to go via my back from one side to the other (not stopping on my back as I get breathless) and the whole process is agony... AND it usually triggers a BH so I'm left panting and hurting!

Have nice days and babies soon ladies!

Random - itching is serious enough to phone triage or assessment unit if u have one

mamapants · 07/05/2014 12:16

Just a quick update to say my LO arrived early hours sunday morning. Another little boy. DS1 is smitten with him but also struggling a bit, he clearly feels a bit left out.
My two boys are beautiful though.
Labour was hideous. Had an epidural with DS1 and would highly recommend it! Needed help of ventouse this time as DS2 had stopped breathing but all well that ends well.

ClearlyMoo · 07/05/2014 12:28

ANOTHER BABY! Congrats Mamapants!!

Random phone they really dont mind

congratulations mama sorry you has such a hard time glad your both well

39+4 two days to go having loads of BH sooo tired hope she comes soon

kally195 · 07/05/2014 12:52

Congrats mama!

Clearly turning over on bed is definitely a production. My bump is so tight and solid that my skin and muscles really do not enjoy the shift of weight from one side to the other. The bed makes quite worrying noises as well.... Grin

Spirael · 07/05/2014 13:31

Congratulations, mama!

I can agree with sleep, ClearlyMoo. Grin I went back to bed at 10:30am and only just got up... I hope it doesn't mean I spend tonight lying awake!

Rolling over is a PITA, but my hips hurt so much I have to do it regularly. I have a special cushion I sleep with that helps me get comfortable but I get tangled in it! Fortunately we have a huuuuge bed so there's plenty of space, otherwise DH would be disturbed a lot more than he otherwise is.

MoominAndMiniMoom · 07/05/2014 14:06

Congrats mama! We've had an influx of babies the past few days!! Grin

Four weeks ago I was stuck in that marathon induction attempt... Shock the time is going so quickly!

dobedobedo · 07/05/2014 14:11

Congratulations mama! Grin

clearly I can't lie down in bed anymore. Lying on my back makes me dizzy and breathless and lying on my side is fine, until I try to move again. Last night I thought I'd devised an easy way to get back up, but it didn't work. I heard my pelvis crack and today I can barely walk. Sad I sleep sitting up right now. I never feel as if I get enough rest like this, but it's brilliant for my pubic bone and hips, I've even managed going for walks without crutches after a couple of days of not lying down! Maybe if you try to sleep sitting up, it might help?

Mind you, the trade off is being constantly swollen as your legs and arms are never level with or above your heart. Not ideal. I guess the best thing would be for these bloody babies to get a move on and GTFO!

MrsFooCough · 07/05/2014 14:48

So I TOTALLY needn't have worried about today.
Didn't have the in-and-out-in-60-seconds consultant that I've had a couple of times (despite her being the chief obstetric consultant, she's not got the best or most reassuring bedside manner), instead had the adorable Ukrainian man who saw me at my very first diabetic clinic appointment. Back then he made me feel much less guilty about the whole GD situation and I've never forgotten that.
So yes, saw him, DH was there too, and consultant suggested that he do a membrane sweep today to ascertain how favourable I was and just so they could pop that in my notes etc. so I hopped onto the table and he went to get a chaperone. Once he was All Up In There I must say it wasn't as uncomfy as I was expecting, it was along the lines of over-eager first boyfriend not being fisted by Bigfoot
Although the actual sweeping was like a nasty period cramp...unpleasant but nowhere near as bad as I thought! Afterwards he did say that he had been stretching the cervix and I hadn't yelped or anything so he thinks I have a high threshold for pain/discomfort Grin
Apparently I'm 2-3cm dilated already Shock so he said he wouldn't be surprised if things happened naturally rather quickly, and even if they don't kick off naturally themselves, he said the induction would likely be relatively quick, thank goodness!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO HAVE THEIR NEWBORN SQUISHIES ALREADY WHO I HAVEN'T NOTICED OR MENTIONED as you can imagine we're all very excited here at Foo Towers Wine Flowers Cake

loopylou52 · 07/05/2014 15:45

Congrats mama!!

Glad your appointment went well mrsfoo. Have you managed to speak to a mw randdom?

clearly, I struggle with turning over in bed too but have also found I'm no longer at all comfy on my right hand side so it's not worth the trouble of turning over anyway. I can only sleep on my left, which results in me waking up with sore/aching/crampy hips/legs so I either have to get out of bed and walk around a bit, stretch etc or sit up for a bit to stretch my legs out. God, I can't wait to be able to lay on my back with my legs stretched again!
