Hi girls I'm due dd3 on the 16th of May . Although it feels like I'm a bit late to the party as so many babies have been born already on this thread and it's not even May yet ! I'm guessing this could be setting some kind of record compared to the other ante natal threads I've been on before.

To carry on tHe name chat we have decided to call this little one Elise , I've a thread started over on baby names re the middle name as DHs brother died last week and we want a name to honour him . He was called Ian.

To all the ladies symptom spotting , I have nothing !! Although I go to bed every night thinking tonight could be the night :) I went into labour with the other two at night so convinced it will be the same this time . I didn't have any inkling anything was kicking off those times either so maybe that will be the same too, who knows ?!?

Looking forward to chatting to you all

Squiffie · 28/04/2014 16:46

Congratulations Minions!!

Welcome Sunny. X x

dobedobedo · 28/04/2014 17:19

Welcome Sunny!

What middle name are you going to go for then? Sorry to hear about your BIL Thanks

This baby is going to be called Jesse. We decided quite a while ago, and he just feels like a Jesse now, we refer to him by his name a lot too. I love the name - our mothers don't though. They'll get used to it! His middle name will be John. Ds has John as one of his middle names and since they won't share a surname, we thought it'd be nice if they did share a middle name. John was also my lovely grandfather's name, and dh's middle name. I just can't wait until he's born now to see what he looks like!

MoominAndMiniMoom · 28/04/2014 17:48

Welcome Sunny! Sorry to hear about your BIL.

dobe I love the name Jesse!

samba we had the same thoughts about middle names; a lot of Welsh people address people by their first and middle name - we know lots of people who are known as Cara Mai, Cari Haf, Elin Haf, Lowri Wyn etc and we didn't really want that for Celyn, so we deliberately avoided a one syllable middle name! She does have two surnames though Grin (will be changed to one when I marry OH, but that could be a few years off and I wanted her to have both of our names in the meantime).

sambababy · 28/04/2014 18:09

Hi sunny, so sorry about your BIL, your DH must be devastated Sad I love Elise! It's our current top-runner for a girls middle name. Has anyone suggested Vivian for her middle name? Or dare I suggest one of our very own maybie mum's names, Lian?

moomin unfortunately the syllables doesn't stop them here. Eg Pedro Henrique is a really popular combination, I think it sounds like a mouthful!

20secs ago I had a whole chocolate bunny here. Now it's disappeared. I just don't understand it Blush

ohdearitshappeningtome · 28/04/2014 18:14

Omg!!!!!!!! January thread!!!!!

SunnyInterval · 28/04/2014 21:06

Hi girls yeah DH is taking it very hard it was his big brother and he always idolised him . He was only 43 and had 5 kids , 3 of whom he adopted when his wife's sister died of cancer 10 years ago . Their father had committed suicide so those poor kids have lost a third parent at this stage :(

Having chatted about it tonight DHs preference is Ianna so probably going with that ( dd2s middle name is Vivian samba)

Dobe do you think you might end up calling him JJ as a nn ?

Just about to watch OBEM to torture myself :)

Chip86 · 28/04/2014 21:16

Welcome sunny so sorry for your DH and the poor kids must be so hard you must be doing lots of suporting at the moment so sending you a hug

i love all the names there great
Sam my DH (portugues) has 3 sernames i only took one but loads of his friends have asked if baby will have my maiden name and his 3 sernames poor child could have 6 names Confused, not happening Grin

pickletalk14 · 28/04/2014 21:36

Sunny what terrible news. I saw your names thread and people had some lovely suggestions and I love ianna. We lost a close friend early in my pregnancy (so pleased we had told her already) and will use her name as a middle name for a girl or a name we knew meant something too her for a boy. It's a good feeling to know that even in very sad times something of the one who has gone can go on living in a whole new life.

Night all. Going to get up early to try to beat the tube strikes. Very inconsiderate of them in my last 2 weeks of work when there's no way I could walk instead (how I normally manage)

moas · 28/04/2014 22:16

Sunny so sorry for your loss! Incredible how unfair life is. Ianna is a beautiful name, I have never heard it before, seems unique!

Moomin I love Welsh names, went for a Welsh name as second name for DS1.

Sweep was not painful and good news is I'm 1-2cm dilated. Cervix is still long though, and quite far back. So excited the midwife poked the baby's head - getting real! BUT no effect so far. Movements downwards have been a bit more sore today but no real contractions or anything. Hey Ho. Have another one booked for the 6th.

Sleep well tonight, ladies!

MoominAndMiniMoom · 28/04/2014 22:44

Good news about dilation moas!

Essay is 1000 words so far. My motto is currently screw referencing, screw word count, screw quality, I'm going to submit it and hope for the best Grin

loopylou52 · 29/04/2014 00:01

Good work moomin!

Welcome sunny, so very sorry to hear about your DBIL. Thanks

Lots of random twinges, tightenings etc here today. It's getting very hard not to be paranoid about what they all mean! I'm like impatiently - a bit scared and not that desparate for it all to kick off just yet!

ClearlyMoo · 29/04/2014 00:49

Hello!

Well done Moomin, welcome Sunny. Love Ianna - very appropriate given circumstances. Samba 6 names sounds ridiculous!

After last nights good sleep I've had a busy busy day -could this be nesting? Or just the fact that I was such a lazy arse yesterday I HAD to do something today. I've been through and filed ALL the random paperwork in the house (there was 5 months worth) including mags and papers, I've started the craft - felt kit mobile for the nursery, and I've swum 600m, and made dinner (inc some for freezer). Now that may not sound like a lot, but it really was for me!

Now I'm wide awake! Just had loads of gaviscon so it's not even HB keeping me awake. Just brain whirring thinking of lots of things to do tomorrow! I wrote a list! Perhaps this is nesting?! I literally feel like I could move boxes right now! Any one who's had their LOs felt like this?

No more other symptoms - tried the old nipple tweaking this am (on myself) they are too tender for it really. Got a BH after 20 mins which just hurt a lot then went. Had BH in pool when swimming which was a bit crippling. Leisure centre staff getting very nervous about me in the pool! I told them I have three weeks to go, which is true (ish) as if I have induction at 40+10days it'll be 20May in three weeks. I understand leisure centre staff concern but spoke to midwife last week and she said fine to keep swimming until your waters break or you go into labour. Even ok to swim after a "show"!! If waters break in pool you'll feel it cos they'll be body temperature. So I'm not worrying and loving swimming at the mo! At least I feel productive swimming!

Hmm I'm not sure if I'm possibly getting contractions or just painful cramps. All day I've had cramping but none close enough together to be concerned. I've just tried to go to bed at about 11pm and have been waking up every 10 mins or so with pretty sore cramps!! I've also been a bit leaky the past few days and been having to wear pads which now seem to showing some pinkish fluid (sorry tmi!!) Confused getting a bit nervous now!

ClearlyMoo · 29/04/2014 01:33

Oooh mummy. Sounds promising

I AM WIDE AWAKE

OP posts:
mummytobe88 · 29/04/2014 02:10

clearly thought it was just me up at this ungodly hour!!

Pains are now about 5 mins apart and last between a minute and a minute and a half. Think I'm going to phone the hospital soon!

ClearlyMoo · 29/04/2014 02:28

Oooh hope it goes well Mummy! How exciting. Keep us posted! I'm still WIDE AWAKE!

OP posts:
dobedobedo · 29/04/2014 03:00

mummy sound like you're in labour to me! Grin

I'm awake as usual for a drink of gaviscon and my second pee of the night. I'm so swollen lately, I don't even mind getting up loads of times to pee, hoping it gets rid of the fluid buildup everywhere! Yesterday I got my hair cut so I had to spend about an hour looking at my swollen face with its brand new extra chin in the mirror. Confused Even my neck is swollen! I couldn't get a necklace that I used to wear to do up! I'm like the Michelin man.

I have a midwife appt today. The consultant wrote on my notes that she should do another sweep so I hope she does. I'd love to meet my little baby this week, even if it will just stop my mum calling me twice a day to see if I'm "still here". I told her I'd tell her if I go into labour!

dobedobedo · 29/04/2014 03:01

clearly still awake? Lol. I'd love to go swimming but no point in buying a maternity costume now!

mamapants · 29/04/2014 07:25

Exciting mummy fingers crossed things are progressing!
I'm 39+5 today which is when DS arrived. Was induced with him though so no indication of when this one will arrive.
Have mw appt today for bp check. Have realised I don't actually know what you're meant to do when you go into labour. Phone midwife or labour ward? And when do you phone them? Also have a tens machine which says to start using straight away but have experienced really strong braxton hicks the other day so don't want to start using if not actually in labour! Anyone else have a TENS? I hated gas and air so hoping this will help.

Chip86 · 29/04/2014 07:46

Mummy hope your ok and they are the real thing and get to see your baby soon

mama i dont know if it is the same every were but once contractions are every 5 min then we have to phone triage then they ask you the normal questions and if worried they will tell you to come in then tell you were to go if in labour. Dont know if that helps

hope some of you got some sleep last night

well done moomin on the essay

mamapants · 29/04/2014 08:08

Oh dear chip I feel even stupider now, I don't even know what triage is??
I only have phonenumbers for midwife and labour ward.

mamapants · 29/04/2014 08:12

Also had contractions every 5mins on sat that just went away so glad I didn't phone then! So hard to know what to do!

ClearlyMoo · 29/04/2014 08:18

Mama. If in doubt call Delivery Suite. The number should be on your birth notes.

I had 3 hrs sleep and now wide awake again!

Got to crack off that list of things to do!!!

Another one with a rubbish night here. My hips are so bloody painful it's like laying on needles, now cuddled up in the sofa with DS and a wheat pack [poor me emoticon].

mama sounds like you're definitely on your way, hoorah and good luck for a nice quick sneeze birth!

Moomin I'm amazed at you even squeezing out 1000 words with a newborn [better woman than me emoticon]

Welcome Sunny , so very sorry about your bil, Ianna is beautiful, I'd want to do the same.

Are we the only ones who don't have a definite name? W have a short list for each sex but no standout faves. When DS was born he was named in seconds, and not from our list either, he just 'was' his name, so we're pretty laid back and hoping for the same this time.

Hope everyone gets some rest today x
