Sorry for all the reduced movement scares xx

So.... My bump appears to have dropped quite massively over the last 24 hours. Noticeable effects are that my appetite has gone back up and eating is far more comfortable, heartburn is massively reduced and I need to pee even more frequently. Fairly sure monster is still head down etc, as my pelvis is getting more uncomfortable and I am waddling!

Finally got round to buying a baby monitor today as well. What has everyone gone for?

mamapants · 25/04/2014 02:38

Hi moomin sorry I can't remember what your symptoms were do you mind sharing? I was induced with suspected PE in first pregnancy. I'm now on twice a week bp checks. My bp is jut under 140/90 which is normally what they look for but started out at 90/50 so quite an increase and I'm increasingly getting wiggly lines in my vision, blood and protein fine though. Mostly I am suffering from dizziness and not feeling normal but think that could just be the fact that I'mheavily pregnant.
BP check again tomorrow afternoon.

Squiffie · 25/04/2014 07:02

So I've been awake since 4am, just caught up with everyone's news. Glad these babies have got their wriggles back on and hope they stop scaring mummies!

I desperately want some sleep but suspect ds and/or dd will be awake and up here in the next half hour. I could cry I'm so tired :'(

mumof2aimingfor3 · 25/04/2014 07:09

Oh squiffie I feel for you :(
I went to bed early last night and ended up getting a shite nights sleep. Not impressed!

pickletalk14 · 25/04/2014 07:45

Oh squiffie poor you. I was awake for about half an hour with stupid heart burn and I've just realised I left the bumper pack of gaviscon I bought yesterday at home :-(

Had our first experience of syringe feeding.last night- the cat has had a major operation and won't take solid.food! At least babies don't have claws?!

Kally we bought the BT 250... argos had it reduced last week. It's a bit of a minefield though reading reviews people seem to either love or hate various monitors. I mostly wanted that one cos it plays lullabies and then we will have a much more traditional cot mobile.

Have a good day maybies. 36w today.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 25/04/2014 08:15

Mini me decided it was cool to want to feed 1.5 hours and only have 2
Oz..... Today will be brought to you with matchsticks !!

loopylou52 · 25/04/2014 08:18

Sorry to hear about others having crap sleep. Me too! My legs are driving me mad with aching and cramps. Might see if I can get some magnesium supplements today as they're supposed to help. Currently debating whether to try going back to bed for a bit but have a feeling it'll be a waste of time (though I appreciate I'm lucky it's an option unlike for you with other dcs etc). Sad

Re monitors, after much debate we finally decided to go with the Angelcare sound/video/movement one. We only got it this week so haven't had chance to play with it yet.

Vikks · 25/04/2014 08:36

Morning All!
Selfish post alert.. Woohoo 37 weeks today and in my drop zone!!!!!
DP and I had an extra long cuddle this morning.Grin After a very rocky road with our Fertility treatment and only given 10% chance of this baby making it at the beginning, we are totally over the moon and excited! I feel like ring up the clinic just to say look at us now!!Grin Grin Grin

ohdearitshappeningtome · 25/04/2014 08:39

Amazing Vikks xxx

MoominAndMiniMoom · 25/04/2014 08:46

mama my parents came to visit and I'd had a sharp headache and been feeling generally run down for a couple of days, my blood pressure had been 140/100 the day before but they'd said it could have been stress. Family noticed that my face and get had swollen hugely, I could barely fit into shoes to get checked out, my hands were massive, my vision was blurring and I couldn't catch my breath properly.

we went to the hospital and she wouldn't let me see what the blood pressure reading was because it was so high so I don't actually know what it was, but there was also lots of protein in my wee so they said they were keeping me in. and then next morning my consultant came to the ward and said although the blood tests came back negative for pre eclampsia, he wanted to start induction immediately because if they let me continue much further, he felt it would develop into PE.

sorry that's long, I like my details Grin hope that helps.

kally195 · 25/04/2014 09:25

Sympathies to those who can't sleep. I woke up at 4.30, had a chat and a cuddle with DH before he went off to work (feels so weird not going with him after 10 years of working together) and then couldn't go back to sleep. Eventually gave up and was at sainsburys for 6am opening... So much easier to waddle round an empty supermarket!

Just trying to decide whether to try to sleep a bit more now.

loopy you'll have to let me know what you think - I went for the angelcare too, but without video. My challenge was to find a monitor which didn't run on 2.4ghz frequency, as that is what our home network runs on. Got it for a bit of a bargain too, as quite a few places have it reduced ATM.

Just had an email from DH saying he is going to speak to his Chief about doing his last couple of shifts before my due date in the UK. Made me feel quite emotional!

ClearlyMoo · 25/04/2014 10:15

Morning all! I had a bad night too, sending hugs and empathy. I slept 12-2 then was WIDE AWAKE with heartburn, baby kicking, achy hips, til gone 5, I tried everything to distract self/ reset tiredness- loo trips, toast, cuddling a snory DH, watching TV, counting, lots of lying still in dark, and some reading MN AIBU but nothing. Eventually at gone 5 I was sobbing loudly and woke DH up. He just cuddled me and chatted to me and I eventually calmed down. I fell asleep just as his 6 am alarm went (I'm so thankful for eventual zzz and massive sympathy to those that have DCs and couldn't get any extra) and have just woken up now. So that's 6 hrs last night. I think I'll manage the day on that just about!

I don't wish rubbish sleep on anyone but it's nice to come on here and find I'm not alone!!

Kally are you officially off now?! I seem to think you had one more shift tomorrow, has that changed?

Vikks welcome to the DROPZONE, lovely news! What a lot you've been through to get here!

Moomin thanks for sharing your PE story. I'm gradually swelling up - no wedding or engagement ring for me today and Birkenstocks are the only viable footwear. Think it's all within realm of normal at the mo, but if it gets any worse i'll phone in.

Both my Mum and MW think baby will be early, which I wouldn't mind at all 37+6 at the mo.. I'll prob go to 41+3 and get induced. There's just no way of knowing is there?!

Hope you all have good days. Especially those with matchsticks under their eyelids.

I have a friend coming over to bake and have tea & cake! Yay!

vikks That is so sweet! My heart really goes out to all the mums and dads struggling to conceive! Send the clinic a pic of your bump, other couples might see it!

samba fantastic news!! So happy for you! And yes, I had the same advice regarding swimming, keep your legs together!

moas · 25/04/2014 10:23

Oh and the sleep! Sorry for those of you suffering! Me and DH are in seperate bedrooms now! Geriatric vibe but I recommend it! His snoring is too much of a pain at the mo (i normally sleep through it without a problem). He's on DS duty every night/ morning now so I can rest, however at 6am this morning DS had a massive nosebleed that demanded a joint effort. Not been able to go back to sleep since but chilling with the paper in bed...

kally195 · 25/04/2014 10:37

clearly sorry you had such a rubbish night. I do have one shift left tomorrow - I used some leave to take time off this week. It is going to be very weird handing everything in tomorrow!

Right - guess I better get up and do something productive!

rebeccax2 · 25/04/2014 11:41

Oh god I'm starting to swell like a balloooooooon! It's so uncomfortable. My feel are like huge swollen paddles and I have joint aches in my hands and knees. Pins and needles everywhere. Bah. I'm off for a pedicure!

36 + 4 (waaaaaahhhhhhhh so many weeks to go!)

x

dobedobedo · 25/04/2014 12:04

Hi all,

Sorry to hear everyone is having rubbish sleep. I'm right there with ya! I don't think I got more than an hour in one go last night.

I had a consultant appointment this morning. She checked my cervix and I am 1-2cm dialited, with a soft cervix and 4/5 engaged! She did a stretch and sweep too (which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be) and she reckons I don't have long to go.

Due to spd, she did offer to give me an induction as she said I'm favourable, but I'd rather go on my own so if this sweep doesn't work, I'll get another one on Tuesday.

It's all getting very real! Shock

Off to catch up properly on the thread!

Xavielli · 25/04/2014 12:08

Aw vikks that's lovely xx

Me and pud are doing well. Day 3 and my milk is in already, he's feeding so much that there's no engorging yet. His pooh has gone a lovely orange and he seems very content - I really hope the scales agree when he's weighed on Sunday. I feel good, still tired and a bit crampy but after pains are no where near as bad as last time. I'm not enjoying the fragmin injections though, is anyone else on them?

ohdearitshappeningtome · 25/04/2014 12:11

Im on tinzaparin injection for another four week. I been on them since I was 22 weeks as risk factor to bmi and cause we went to Egypt !

Little legs got weighed yesterday! He was 7 4 delivery, 6 10 on discharge and 6 15 with community midwife! I'm expressing and mixing it with formula !

moas · 25/04/2014 13:08

Dobe great news about the sweep! How far gone are you now? They seem to be more keen to do them from 37weeks because of new guidelines? Was this your first one? I'm having one on Monday if the cervix is allowing it. Bit nervous!

Squiffie · 25/04/2014 13:17

Vikks that's lovely!

Glad you and little one are doing well Xav.

Sorry to hear others have had crap sleep too but feel better that I'm not alone.

Dobe, sounds as if baby will be with you any day!

Good luck with your last shift Kally!

Fab news on the weight gain Samba (think I forgot you last time).

We are having a pj day today in our house given the fact I'm so tired and it's chucking it down!!

Pleased baby is heading back up to his birth weight ohdear!

Rebecca I'm 35+2 if that makes you feel better?! Lol ;-)

dobedobedo · 25/04/2014 13:46

I'm 38 weeks today moas.

I've been a bit crampy since the sweep, but nothing worse than its already been lately. I did have a show though!
Ds has his friend coming over today after school so I'd better go and make sure his bedroom is presentable! All I want to do is sleep!

Chip86 · 25/04/2014 14:31

Still not sleeping and now baby engaged i want to cry with the pain in my pelvis so just taking short naps night and day

dobe is the strech and sweep as bad as it sounds i have my first one on monday not looking forward to it

hope every one has better day today and gets some rest
sorry i cant remember inderviduels between tired and pain and bad mood brain has given up on me

in bad mood because DH made me late for hospital appointment today, he phoned at 12 to say still stuck at work, appointment at 12:15 (he could of told me sooner) so i had to jump on bus i was so late they were ok though then i dropped sample pot in toilet i would have laughed but was still mad at DH think i go back to bed now and cry

Chip86 · 25/04/2014 14:32

Vikks im so glad its all working out for you, you must be so excited

SarahJinx · 25/04/2014 15:55

Ah we're nearing the end and gradually all falling to bits!? It's bloody hard going, I don't remember it being as physically tolling last time around, I have slept properly in weeks it seems, good practise!

Aww Xav can hear the pride in your post, that little boy is gorgeous too and hoorah for his poo! One of my most early memories of DS as newborn was a tremendous arching bright yellow BF poo right up my wall one day, it's all coming back to me now!

Kally wishing you well for that last shift, you've done amazingly well, hope it isn't too taxing and is over quickly!

Vikks awwwww again! We had fertility probs pre DS, went for tests got approved for IVF, then I got the bfp! It never actually felt real until I held him, am so, so pleased for you!

Am off to have a row with my cleaning lady, I only have her for a couple of hours a week to take the edge off of the 'big' stuff and she's gotten worse and worse, today I've paid her but can't see what she's done at all, god, I hate rows.

Second timers, after a little advice, DS is in nursery two days per week, when baby comes best to take him out while we all settle down, or best to stay in routine and pack hm off Mondays and Wednesdays.....? Really appreciate any experience/advice!

Why has my fanjo stopped hurting please? Any offers?
