Jaysecond · 15/09/2006 18:40

Jaysecond · 15/09/2006 18:42

my puking has stopped but my gums are bleeding a fair bit now, and my feet ache all the time, its chronis, i never had this before! anyone elses feet hurt?

cazboldy · 15/09/2006 18:48

kittywits, have you told people yet or not? I have told a couple of close friends and am just letting everyone else hear it on the grapevine. Also are you going to have to get a new car? We have a six seater at present, but are getting a 7 seater ( no worries as it was on the cards before I got pg) but don't know how you manage with 6 kiddies (make dh walk? )

kittywits · 15/09/2006 19:20

Caz, I have been a coward and have let dp do all the talking. He told the kids last weekend and so it has gone round the school like wild fire. people keep coming up and saying " I hear congrats are in order" actually most people have been really positive and kind, much to my surprise.
At the mo we have a Zafira which is an excellent 7 seater. We will have to get something bigger though and dp has settled on a mercedes vito. basically it's a van with 9 seats. But it's the smallest van with 9 seats! I figure we need that many seats what with school runs plus friends home. What car have you got are you getting?
How have the reactions been at your end?

divastrop · 15/09/2006 19:22

i still don;t 'feel' pregnant.i know i am its just the reality of another baby hasnt sunk in yet.i just feel like ive had pmt for 3 months and my period is very very late.

pennygaff · 15/09/2006 19:30

I can vouch for the PMT, just oppted to stay in AGAIN but the alternative was a night down the local it was meant to be with friends but I just can't... don't feel up to it, now left feeling sad and bullied by DP to go. He wanted to tell people tonight, but I don't like the thought of being stuck not drinking in a smokey place. People fail to mention that pregnancy can be depressing

kittywits · 15/09/2006 19:48

With the last baby I was about 1 week overdue and thought " oo, feel a bit achey down there must be pmt" I forgot on a daily basis even then!
penny, sorry you're feeling bad. I know what you mean about not wanting to go out. I hate watching other people get drunk, it's boring.

kittywits · 15/09/2006 20:12

Check this out ladies. Nothing to do with pregnancy, but for those already blessed with kids it looks great here

themum · 15/09/2006 21:34

Divas, I failed on the bf front with ds1 and ds2. Guilt and pressure = awful. I sympathise. There is lots of pressure to bf but not much support if you try.

Kitty, how do you have all those children and go to the gym? I'm v.impressed.

SassLils - I also think that your mw is extremely unprofessional - can you avoid her?

Re:birth. I am booked in for elective c-section this time. Have tried both "normal" and elective section so feel like I am in a sound position to make informed decision!

fatfox · 16/09/2006 09:58

Hi everyone and hope you're having a good Saturday morning so far

I went to a local MN meet up last night and couldn't wait to get home and have a hot chocolate (the meet up was great though )

My (.)(.)s are massive (38g) and haven't increased at all this PG. I was 34b before kids !! Trouble with huge boobies is they can make you look very matronly when you get over about 35.

I BF DS for about 5 months and it was so traumatic it blighted my maternity leave (4 bouts of mastitis and 3 bouts of breast thrush - ouch!!), but I think the pethidine I had in labour as half the cause, as he was too sleepy to latch on for the first few days after birth. Had epidural with DD and it was heaven. Was determined to try and breast feed again and managed to feed her, trouble free, for 18 months! I hated it first time and I felt a complete failure; butloved it second time. DD did have the odd bottle of formular as well when it suited us and it didn't interfer with the BF at all

Onilly - you poor thing - sounds nightmare trip; welcome back to MN

Sassi - I tried the Feb thread too but agree this one is much, much nicer

I often wake up and think - OMG I'm pregnant - this one does feel very unreal...

Kittywits - I have trouble sleeping too, I either get woken by little kicks, or by rude dreams, or by the desire to wee and then can't get off again My mind starts racing, I think due to pregnancy.

That Mammoth Academy looks great for DS, who is six and started reading alone and silently (i.e. without the finger tracing the words and reading out loud) a few weeks ago, it looks perfect for him.

Diva - C Lee was really dishy when a young vampire, but not sure about now

fatfox · 16/09/2006 10:02

ps 15 + 6 today but MS is still hovvering when hungry and tired and geting very forgetful

kittywits · 16/09/2006 10:07

I'm on to the bigger knickers now
13+3

novadandypowder · 16/09/2006 10:09

I am soooo excited about this baby .

Rubbish sleeper here too, DH and I have to sleep in separate rooms as I spend all night tossing, turning, throwing off covers, getting up to go to the loo etc.. 10pm is a late night nowadays

fatfox · 16/09/2006 10:09

I always wear big knockers, I mean big knickers.

My Italian friend (due same day as me) showed me her bump yesterday and I noticed she was wearing these huge tan coloured knickers.

I reckon if Italian women wear big knickers, they must be OK

kittywits · 16/09/2006 10:14

I think my big knickers are to do with my fat arse. I just can't stop eating. I try I really do but I am ALWAYS hungry. In the night I am hungry. I am hungry now. It's always for bread an cheese. I could eat a whole loaf smotheres in cheese and butter in one sitting. That's why I am growing a big arse

divastrop · 16/09/2006 11:42

hello.
i woke up this morning after a very awful dream and realised ive been totally paranoid this past week.i had a long list of things to apologise to dp for!

ive not been getting much sleep either.dp is having trouble also due to trying to quit smoking so we keep waking each other up.then when we do sleep ds2 decides its time to get up at 5am.
has anyone else found that girls are better at sleeping than boys?

fatfox-i look matronly with big boobs and im 29.mind u i probably look at least 35.breast feeding ds1 got off to a bad start for the same reason ,i think, all the morphine i had in labour caused him to sleep for the first 5 days of his life!

the only time i wear big knickers is after the birth-for obvious reasons(like pads that are about 2 ft long and 5" wide) but i have to wear thongs the rest of the time or i end up constantly yanking my knickers from my bottom

14+3

onilly · 16/09/2006 12:09

morning... erm afternoon all...

Had a great sleep last night, must have been a catch up of 4 days of very bad sleep. DH was in States all week so is home now and think that I probably also miss a slightly snoring, farting, burping man creature to lull me to sleep too !
Amazing what a nights sleep can do. Feel much much much better today.

Am over Madrid trauma and reunited with bag, all is intact. Feel a bit like a very bad pregnant Bridget Jones at the moment. There are some hilarious moments... when I get my humour back..
Fatfox, to answer your earlier question - yes, I did shop - but for arsey tiny spanish clothes - they are all so skinny minny. I ended up in the Matron end of the store.. what can I say polyester floral is not my fav. look...

Talking of big knickers, can you help me on this....? When / what do you need in the coming months as far as knickers and bra's go ? I am pretty busty 38D and whilst boobs have been sore, no major growth...but expect they will ?
Where do you go for maternity bra's and knickers ? Any clues - sorry guys, I am a complete novice but have noticed arse hanging out of side ...

whippie · 16/09/2006 12:49

I have found out on tuesday that i am expecting twins. This will take my kiddie count to 5. Which is pretty scary. Just wondering if anyone else whose having twins is finding it as tiring and wether there bump is as big(only 15 weeks and look about 6 months)!
P.S Big knickers rule....lol

divastrop · 16/09/2006 13:05

onilly-i found ,even in first pg,that my boobs did all their growing in the first 4 months.and i have never owned a maternity bra.i got some maternity knickers in first pg but they kept rolling down the bump.

anniediv · 16/09/2006 13:37

Still in normal knickers and bras although starting to spill out the side of my bra I noticed today! I am about to go in to work, so have to think of creative ways of people not noticing that I'm not drinking tea, coffee or in fact anything, and that I'm eating about 10% of what I normally eat. Gloom.

I'm not going to come back on the thread until I feel more cheerful!!

fatfox · 16/09/2006 13:45

Big Knickers Rule LOL

Onilly - Mothercare do good basic maternity bras which are also not expensive. My (.)(.)s grew loads in first pregnancy - all the way through and I had to change bras 3 times.

Thongs?? One of the great things about being old and fat is not having to wear thongs!!! Mind you, my arse eats my pants all the time, so know what you mean about having to yank the knickers out

Kitty - I'm hungry all day too (and at night). No sooner do I finish one meal and 5 minutes later I'm thinking about the next one. Just rying to keep it vaguely healthy - ish

Onilly - glad you're feeling beter now too

Whippie - that's exiting - twins eh? I look 6 months PG too, but am not having twins

pennygaff · 16/09/2006 14:52

Whippie congrats on the twins!
On the knickers front, I wear my passion killers with pride, they are comfy and warm, also when bending over its great nothing to worry about!

pennygaff · 16/09/2006 14:55

onilly, its got to be grannies favourite M&S. I too haven't a clue but found everything I needed in good old marksys

novadandypowder · 16/09/2006 16:41

I've never owned a maternity bra, in fact I don't even wear bras as I find they're uncomfortable. I wear secret support vests, vests with a sports bra like support, very comfy. I got maternity knickers last time but think they are a bit of a con, I just wear cotton jersey boy short type pants from Gap. A note for the first timers - rather than get disposable pants for after the birth, buy large cheap granny knickers that you don't mind throwing away. A lot better fitting and more comfy (although I must confess I was still wearing mine 3 months after last time )

cazboldy · 17/09/2006 08:46

Kittywits, at the moment we have a 6 seater toyota picnic, and we are getting a nissan terrano 4 wheel drive. As I said before, this was on the cards even before this pg, as we tow a horsebox/cattle trailer quite often to horse shows and agricultural shows where the boys show our calves. Also not long ago I was chasing an escapee cow across a field and managed to knock the air intake system of the bottom of our car which ended up costing £260 to fix!
I know there is a lot of debate about 4 wheel drives on mumsnet, but I make no apologies as it really is something that is the most practical thing for us to do.
