Hi pennygaff.

Just posted on the other thread for you.

My BF is a doctor, and she says paracetamol is fine (although, as with all over-the-counter drugs to be used in moderation & preferably not to the maximum dosage as stated on the packet).

HTH

pennygaff · 23/08/2006 19:59

Thks Booboobedoo, I have taken a bit now. My headaches are part of the m/s, I puke, I drink water, I get headaches so bloody unfair!

eidsvold · 23/08/2006 22:20

paracetemol is fine.

I am finding my jeans are getting a little tight in the waist already only 9 weeks. Dh tells me it is all the crap food I have been eating ( all I have wanted to eat with dreaded nausea) BUT i still think it is pregnancy. After all still doing my gym workouts three times a week.

But frustrated that clothes are getting a little snug already. I do know I was huge with no2 (9lb 7 oz)compared with no1 ( 6lb 1/2 oz) and I showed earlier with no 2 too.

Morning campers!

Morocco, sorry to hear about your family's bug - these things usually pass after about 48 hours so I hope theirs does and you manage to avoid catching it

Tallie - sorry, I forgot to say hello earlier - welcome and I love your name. Actally my daughter is called Tally Its a really pretty name.

Laidback - My hubbie is actaully 64 !!!! 65 in a few months and I'm 43 next week (aaaaaaaarrrrgh!!!). 22 year age gap. Mind you he looks a lot younger than I do at the moment!!! I have two step children in their early 20's in Australia! It took a bit of pursuading for him to agree to try for another I can tell you! His first reaction was "You must be joking!", then I didn't mention it for another two years! However, that feeling of wanting another just wouldn't go away, so last summer we agreed to try again, as we both new I would always regret it if we didn't. Not to mention, I'd never forgive him

Just lets hope we don't regret that we did!!! :0

Laidback, sorry you've still got MS - I agree though it is quite reassuting to have these symptoms. When I had missed MC last year I didn't get MS, so I quite like having that "proof" that all is as it should be, even though it makes you feel rough doesn't it?

Babycakes - please stay with us. Strictly speaking I should move over to the Feb thread as the two scans I've had give the EDDs of 26 and 28 Feb, but the March people are really nice. so I'm staying put and will have to keep me legs crossed at the end of Feb :0

Booboodedoo - Hi there and welcome back from your hols - hope you enjoyed the rest. I've got hearburn too, which I hate even more than MS. I get it in the evenings. A carton of yogurt seems to help get rid of that acid feeling.

Jayseceond - don't worry about your scan. I was absolutely convinced mine would be a bad result due to my age, (and couldn't sleep for two days beforehand - so worried was I) but both scans were really good. Just look forward to seeing that beanie moving around. It'll be fine, don't worry

Pennygaff - ditto paracetamol is deffo OK to take when PG.

Eivsvold, my waistline also grew at about 8-9 weeks. I', 12+4 now and wearing maternity bottoms already . I've just succumbed to it really. I got some fab bargains in Mothercare a couple of weeks ago, including Linen work trousers for £6.50 and jersey trousers (mocha with pale blue trim, very nice) for £4!! I'm glad now that I did succumb. I think Mothercare maternity clothes have really improved since I had DD three years ago.

Hope you all feel a bit better today. I've got to work 'til 7.30 tonight

fatfox · 24/08/2006 09:08

Whoops, naughty me

Forgot to add:

EDD somehwre between 26 Feb and 4 March
DS 6
DD 3

novadandypowder · 24/08/2006 10:10

Hi everyone, and welcome Tallie

DD threw up her morning bottle all over the bed this morning, so that was me getting up early and vomiting like there's no tomorrow . She's a bit under the weather and very clingy which means a hard day today.

Babycakes - it was me that had a smaller baby than expected at my first dating scan, by up to two weeks. I went back for another scan after two weeks and it was growing fine, I must have ovualted a lot later than I thought. Keep the faith x

Quick overview:
EDD 28th March
9+1

Piffle · 24/08/2006 10:23

moring all
glad boo that Ms is easing, ughhh @ the heartburn though
I feel ok ish, I could be sick if I thought about it, so I@m not thinking about it
Got consultant appt this afternnon to explain why I need a nuchal scan (not usual in this area)
I know the consultant really well, he did my ectopic surgery, adhesion surgery, fertility clinic and pregnancy! He is also pro homebirth so hooray!
I have to take in urine sample - in all prvious pregnancies and in fact when not pregnant I have high sugar, but am not diabetic, so no doubt will have to suffer the Glucose challenge at some point to appease them [sigh]
I aim to drink LOTS of water to dilute my wee
Anywya must go tidy up while I feel half human, have 4 of dp's uni mates staying tomorrow night - I've ordered them to go out for curry and beer and not put it under my delicate nose...

Tallie11 · 24/08/2006 10:24

Hope your all well today and not suffering from MS too badly. As for me I haven't had it at all, but I did have a bad start when I first fell preg.... in a ''ahem' different area.

Thankyou Fatfox... your daughter has a lovely name.

lots of love Tallie xx

fatfox · 24/08/2006 10:28

Nova/Babycakes

In fact mines the exact opposite (re due dates) in that my dates have been put forward a week. I just can't work out how this could have happened i.e. how could I have ovulated 7 days after LMP rather than 14 after, but there you go.

novadandypowder · 24/08/2006 11:15

I could be making it up, but I'm sure I saw some stat that said only 30% of women ovulate in the middle of the cycle. It's taken two pg's for me to figure out exactly how my cycle works, thank goodness DH has sticky sperm (lol!)

fatfox · 24/08/2006 12:40

Nova

I think you're probably right. The control freak in me wants to think that I ovulate bang on 14 days, but nature is a bit more unpredictable isn't it? I think I was more cross actually, when given the Feb dates, about having to leave the March thread!!

leogaela · 24/08/2006 12:48

Oh, I've recounted and realise I am 11.2 today!

Babycakes - the twins will almost certainly be born in February, but I like it here and I'm staying put! Hope you do too!
How are you today?

leogaela · 24/08/2006 12:50

And you too Fatfox! There will always be a few of us that have the babies a bit earlier or later. with ds I was also on the march thread, but he was born early in Feb! i'm still on the march post-natal thread.

fatfox · 24/08/2006 13:05

Leo

Was it a prem baby?

Your twins will come early won't they - do twins normally arrive about 37 weeks? Did you suspect twins or was it a complete and utter surprise?

leogaela · 24/08/2006 13:16

Fatfox, ds was born at 37 weeks, fully formed, very healthy and even with lots of fat so not prem!
The doctor said (all going well) that the twins will be born around 36 weeks by CS (I had an emergency cs with ds so a natural birth is unfortunately not advisable ).

I guess it was somewhere in my mind that it could be twins, I had made jokes about it, thought about how horrendous it would be , I even looked up signs of twin pregnancies on a website, but dismissed the idea as I didn't seeem to have any of the signs. So in fact it was a completed shock when I was told! Thinking about it some more the day before I went to the doctor I told my sister I thought it may be twins! I don't kwno why it came as such a surprise!

fatfox · 24/08/2006 13:38

Leo

Are they identical or fraternal, do you know yet? Not sure if fraternal is the right word, but you KWIM

leogaela · 24/08/2006 13:45

Fatfox, they appear to be identical and appear to be - the correct terms I have learnt are - Monozygotic, monoamniotic and monochorionic! I go to the doctor again tomorrow so hopefully he will confirm all this for me !

kittywits · 24/08/2006 14:23

had waht i thought was supposedto be my booking appointment today. It has all changed since even 7 montns ago. They have reduced the number of antenatal visits even more

My lovely midwife whom I had for the last 3 births moved to another practice just after dd3 was born and I feel really lost without her. The new midwife wsok, but it was all very clinical.
I said I wanted another home birth and she said it wasn't protocol after sections and I said that already had 3 vbs and one of those was a home one . She said they had to cover themselves and I said I was having one anyway!!

If it weren't for the fact that I'm going to employ my fantastic doula again I would consider a private midwife. I hate the NHS.

I asked her why my boobs weren't sore and she said it was because they were still in feeding mode as opposed to preg mode.

Hope everyone's alright

How are you today babycakes?

9+4

Piffle · 24/08/2006 15:21

kitty exactly how I felt
Dp hd sis that we could try and afford a private midwife if nhs were not supportive but this time I think I've cracked it
This area seems to be quite pro home birth for some reason!

pennygaff · 24/08/2006 15:30

Hi everyone, how r u all feeling today? much the same as yesterday? me too. My new Sea Bands do not seem to be working any Miracles. Seems like most pepoles EDD have changed, My sister told me to tell the MW a week later than I was so I'd have more time before the hideous induction.they thk I am 9wks but I am 10 2day. But if that changes at yr Dating scan maybe it was all in vain?

pennygaff · 24/08/2006 15:30

people typo!

Jaysecond · 24/08/2006 16:07

AHH Kitty, i was wondering why my bobs weren't sore this time round, last time i couldnt even dry them with a towel ! i think mine must be same as yrs. Thinking about it i stopped BF at 5 mths, three weeks later found out i was preg.. and also i am still leaking milk, not a huge amount but enough to show me that its there, crazy huh!

Feeling a bit better today, thanks for all your words of support, you do ust get down days sometimes. Doesnt help when DD is in the worst grumpiest mood all day, its 'persisting' it down outside and all you can think of is that your'e fat, not pregnant! Still everyday is different

got to go , i see some fingers disapearing into a dvd player......

kittywits · 24/08/2006 16:32

That's great Piffle. My last midwife at the same practice was very pro home birth and so supportive. Have you considered a Doula? I have had them for the last three births. What a difference!! Cheaper than a midwife but offering fantastic support and completely there for YOU

kittywits · 24/08/2006 16:35

So glad you say that Jay, it must be true then, that takes one worry away, phew !!

babycakes26 · 24/08/2006 16:46

Hi all
I'm doing Ok today thanks KW. Had lots of nice reassuring messages on various threads - what a lovely bunch you all are. Well no bleeding for me yet (so pecker is still firmly up). Had a REALLY bad night's sleep last night but DH looked after me Think I just needed a good cry as an adrenaline release after the hospital drama yesterday. Still got funny stretching pain on my rh side but maybe this is just the usual - I have been having this on and off for a few weeks anyway. MS getting worse from about 4pm until lunchtime seems to be my cycle with the odd appearance in the late evening (nothing some buttery toast can't sort out!). Boobs are still aching and growing a pace so keeping +ve

I will def stay on this thread - need to keep up with all YOUR news. Anyway enough of me - how's everyone else today...?
