ROFL a all the scary hairies on here

Diva - I meant poor thing having such a judgemental mother. The bit about her being a vampire was a pathetic attempt at a joke.

divastrop · 14/09/2006 21:07

oh,right, sorry im not with it today atall.
my mum is a catholic.my dp is a vampire

fatfox · 15/09/2006 06:51

Diva - does your DP look like Christopher Lee? (licks lips)

anniediv · 15/09/2006 10:43

Good morning everyone. I am feeling very today. I'm just so sick of feeling ill and not being able to do what I normally do. I daydream about having a long drink of cold water, but in reality the minute I get the glass anywhere near my mouth it just tastes awful and I can't swallow more than a couple of mouthfuls. Has ANYONE got any idea of how I can trick myself into taking on more fluids, I just CAN'T end up in hospital dehydrated as I did the last 2 times.

Sorry to be so gloomy, someone cheer me up, please!

kittywits · 15/09/2006 10:57

sorry you're feeling crap Annie. How about taking some fluids in foods, like oranges or can't you eat anything either? What about juices and squashes. I hate drinking plain water and when I'm preg I get a real sensitivity to water tastes. Often tap water tastes like bleach to me. I'll have a think and see if I can come up with any other ideas

cazboldy · 15/09/2006 11:00

Hi fatfox - am still bf ds3 and had no period in between so no idea, but Piffle, if I had to guess would say that I am about 13 weeks (ish)

LunarSea · 15/09/2006 11:05

Anniediv - can you eat melons? They've got a really high water content.

morocco · 15/09/2006 11:05

sorry to hear you're feeling that grotty, anniediv, I guess you've already tried icelollies/ice cubes/jelly etc? It must be really horrible.

someone asked me yesterday when the baby was due! so I must have passed the 'fat' stage and entered the 'definitely pregnant' stage already . I'm also eating like a horse and having 2 breakfasts so have the 'fat' satge to look forward too once I've actually given birth.

I can't believe we're all thinking about the birth already! I'm hoping for hospital birth, no big interventions and to give birth on my side. I thought I'd want to give birth on all 4's or on a birthing chair or something like that but with ds2, I was very relieved to just lie down and have a bit of a rest after all that walking round, rocking on all fours etc. So I guess I will be the same lazy creature this time round. In my defence, i did read that lying down on your left side is supposed to be a very good position so i must be a bit ' in touch'

both my kids are in playgroup today!! my life is transformed! now I have 2 mornings a week entirely to myself. I have celebrated this week by eating lots but next week I might have to do a bit of cleaning

love to all
dd 13/3/07 but i've lost count of weeks again

anniediv · 15/09/2006 11:20

Thanks for the tips. If I try anything like melon, I can suck it but can't chew and swallow it. I know I sound demented and to be honest I'm starting to think it must be psychological, after all how difficult is it to drink something FFS!! I think I will entertain myself sucking melon then spitting it out...

novadandypowder · 15/09/2006 11:23

Annie - avoid cold things and drink water/juice at room temp. Oranges also not a good thing, but I'd say the melon sounds like a good idea.

Had booking in appt yesterday and all is well. Nuchal is 0.8mm and everything else is as it should be. The good news is that I won't have to go to term - as dd was 3wks early (due to early onset of pre-eclampsia it would appear) they will induce me this time up to 10 days before EDD so we can arrange child care. Cool!. The bad news is I'm a stone heavier than I was at this stage with dd, so have to watch the chocolate intake.

morocco · 15/09/2006 11:25

cool - so you get to avoid those last 3 weeks nova1 lucky you! it's good that you can plan around that now.

just thought of a tip for getting kids to drink that might help, anniediv - drink while in the bath, apparently kids drink more this way, maybe it will be the same for adults too?

divastrop · 15/09/2006 11:51

hello!
fatfox,i dont know what chrisopher lee looks like?
anniediv, sorry to hear ur not feeling too good.ive no advice on the fluid thing but dont do what i did one time when i was in the bath when pg with ds1.i was thirsty and didnt have a cup so i wet a bath sponge and sucked it(i was very thirsty)...but it tasted so nice i kept getting cravings for it right up till i gave birth.i have had the same craving from about 20 weeks in all my pg's,except in the last 2 i moved on to actually eating the sponge.i hope i dont get again this time
nova,my consultant didnt say anything about being induced early this time, even though its happened 4 times before.last time she booked me in for induction at 38 wks when i was 36 weeks gone,so i had to rush round arranging for my mum to come up etc!

I went to the gym this morning. I am still horrified at the sight of my saddlebag thighs and need to feel I'm doing something. After half an hour I had to leave as I was so hungry I had to eat else I would throw up. Next time I go I'll take a sandwich with me!

anniediv · 15/09/2006 12:07

The gym?? Wow, you are Superwoman! The school run is about all I'm fit for at the moment. I don't look a bit pregnant, in fact my pre preg jeans are falling off me. I'm not boasting BTW, as it doesn't suit me at all, I just look dog rough!

SassiLils · 15/09/2006 12:19

Morning Everyone

Annie Im sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly, however, I am slightly envious that you are not getting all lardy like moi!

Kitty, my bum and legs are getting pretty big, although they are firm. I have been slighty demented on my mini stepper and been doing stair runs, which has only resulted in my thighs getting bulkier and not any slimmer . I usually run, but feel far too tired and cumbersome for this now.

kittywits · 15/09/2006 12:34

Christpoher Lee was quite yummy in his younger days. He played Dracula in all the old Hammer Horror films, he also played Sauron in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. A very tall and imposing figure.

fatfox · 15/09/2006 12:53

Kitty/Diva - Chrisptopher Lee in his younger days -Yummy (licks lips again)

Everything on me is fat: arms, (bingo wings included), legs, bum, tum, (.)(.)s, chins etc. After a few years you just get used to it

Rosylily · 15/09/2006 12:55

Sassilils- your tear made me really cringe. I had a bad graze with dd and it was awful, had a look with mirror and was horrified and that was just a graze!!
Piffle my last two were born in the sac too. my early labour is long but then 1 push and they are out! The braxton hicks is key I think because I also was left breathless by the strength of them towards the end. I have a friend whos labours were just like yours and she had loads of strong braxton hicks too.
Divastrop I had scopolamine (not sure of spelling) with dd1 which is like pethidine but stronger. The midwife did have to shake me to get me to push. So i do think its better to do it with nothing if poss, its just I've done it without twice now and wish i could be pain free this time, even though the pain doesn't last long. You get a fantastic natural high after labour though!
Anniediv did you try icelollies? porky pickling pears really really helped my nausea. I hope you feel better soon. it sounds bad for you.
I am feeling fab this week. bye bye and good riddance to first trimester! 14 weeks 5

kittywits · 15/09/2006 13:07

But I STILL have fried eggs for boobs. I don't think they are going to grow at all this time

Rosylily · 15/09/2006 13:15

yeah my boobs are still fitting into my puny little bras. Do you breast feed? That'll sort them out!
I turn into dolly parton then.
So when I lose the weight it'll be spaniels ears for me! And speaking of unwanted hair I get hairy nipples!!I am so attractive.

SassiLils · 15/09/2006 13:42

LOL at boob size convesation. I had tiny ones and am enoying actually filling my bra for once Wore a low top last weekend and actually had a clevage! they touched!! always wanted a boob job and now want one even more now I know what they'll look like

divastrop · 15/09/2006 13:48

rosylily,i only asked cos having had diamorphine(3 shots of)and pethidine and various others when i was having ds1,and pethidine when i had dd1,i would say(imo)they do nothing for the pain and i found it so much easier with just gas and air the last 2 times.i think a bottle of vodka would do more for the pain than what they give u in hospital

if anybody wants my 32ff boobs they are most welcome to them.im just glad they havent gone up to a g cup like last time.it might be ok if there were any muscles holding them up but they dissapeared years ago.
a couple of ppl have commented on me 'still being in ur jeans'...what they dont realise is that i have a selection of jeans in size 10-16 from when i was losing weight after having dd2.

is christopher lee the one who was in the new charlie+the chocolate factory?

anniediv · 15/09/2006 13:50

Yes, I think he played Willy Wonka's dentist Dad.

divastrop · 15/09/2006 13:55

er,no then,dp doesnt look like him!

Rosylily · 15/09/2006 14:04

My sister loved gas and air. She says it was her husbands job to take it off her every now and then. I tried it last time but I think it was too late. Baby was coming out when I had it shoved in my mouth so all I did was bit on it! At least it shut me up. Isn't it funny how one minute you're howling and grunting like a wild animal (well I do) then suddenly in a heart beat there's a baby and you are laughing and chuckling and cooing.
I'm usually 36-38a...pathetic I know. then I go up to d during bf which is quite exciting. Then I go back to the old size only with loads more skin! sigh. But I know lots of people are unhappy and very uncomfortable with their big ones.
