Violet as long as the nuchal scan is done by 13 weeks & 6 days you're in time.

PosyFossilsShoes · 08/04/2014 21:57

Those who are having the cardboard wheel v actual conception date arguments… I'm being told that my dates are different (I have a v short cycle so date of my LMP was only 9 days before conception rather than the standardised 14.) I know I'm right because it was IUI but I'm just going to roll with their dates because that way I get an extra 5 days at the other end before they threaten me with being induced.

I puked on a tree this morning. I love London, most people just give you filthy looks if you're having a quiet roadside vom (although two amazingly lovely people came over to check I was okay and gave me some water - officially the nicest people in London.)

caravela · 08/04/2014 22:05

Violet - is there a reason that the booking appt has to be done before the 12 week scan? Mine is actually happening the other way round (though I've already had a first meeting with the doctor) because the midwife only comes to the GP clinic once a week, and so because of the timing of me also being away for work it ended up that I am seeing her the day after the scan. But she and the GP sorted it out with the hospital well in advance so I get my scan in week 12 and no one had a problem with it being dong this way round. If you are worried, could you ask them if it's possible to have the scan earlier?

alita7 · 08/04/2014 22:33

I'm assuming violet that you don't have a scan date so you're worried? Then maybe ring the ultrasound unit at hospital ans see if you can book?

Mathssssteacher123 · 08/04/2014 23:34

I haven't been on here for a while. Feeling very scared and as limited people know I'm pregnant thought I'd rant on here. I was admitted to hospital this eve with possibility if ectopic pregnancy waiting for scan at 9am to confirm either way. Praying for good news. My little boy has been I'm hospital with pneumonia and just can't cope with anything else :(

UGH how can I be hungry again??? Sad Only 3 hours ago I had a huge steak (enough for 2 normally), a jacket potato, 2 carrots, 2 parsnips, a huge leek, half a broccoli, a Muller fruit corner, a veg soup, a pint and a half of carrot, apple, orange and ginger juice, cup of yea, 4 biccies, a handful of grapes, a satsuma, and half a huge bar of mint aero (trying to fill myself up so I wouldn't need to eat in the night again!) and now I feel like I want to cry then pass out from hunger. That's just not right. Sad This is costing me a fortune!!! Now it's 1.30am and I have to get up again to get more food, but I'm so tired and my SPD is hurting too much already to keep getting up & going up & down the stairs every 5 minutes. sob

I didn't have booking in until 9+2 and don't have a scan date yet, I think all nnhs trusts do things differently so just going to sit tight and hope I get a letter soon!
9+4

ElleOhElle · 09/04/2014 08:20

good luck maths - hope you and your son are ok Thanks Thanks

Miskate · 09/04/2014 08:26

think positive maths - hope everything goes ok at 9.

I haven't received a letter for my NHS scan - the midwife just called them on my behalf whilstIi was at my first midwife appointment.

Tigsy · 09/04/2014 08:27

9 weeks today and to celebrate the sickness has returned with a vengenance- typically the day I am going out for dinner with friends! I'm hungry but can't think of anything I can stomach at the moment- all I've managed this morning is an ice lolly and a polo- Rock 'n' Roll.....

I feel like I'm so far behind everyone! I'm only 6+6!
Not enjoying early pregnancy at all, not from symptoms (sadistically I love the pain of my boobs coz I get excited that that means I still have baby!!) but worry takes over. I had spotting for 6 days at beginning so had early scan at 5-6 weeks, but baby was too little to see.
I have another on Mon (Will be 7+4) but my mum nearly died this weekend so rushed her to hosp (STRESS) and then my friend who has been trying for 4 years went for her 12 week scan yesterday and found her baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks. Absolutely devastated for her.
Now I don't want to even think about myself as after all that stress and upset I'd be surprised if my baby was still holding on.
To top it all off went for a bowel movement this morning and a drop of blood appeared in the loo. I hate all this :-( Kind of dreading Monday more than excited. Almost expecting bad news!!!

Tigsy · 09/04/2014 09:32

Gosh AmyLou how increidbly stressful for you! Is your Mum ok now?
Your poor friend as well- this is my big worry about the 12 week scan- I've still got 3 weeks until my scan but already starting to panic about it. I guess we just have to remember that something that terrible only happens in a small number of cases, and so the odds are very much on our side for it to be ok.

alita7 · 09/04/2014 10:04

maths I hope it went well!

amylou what an awful time you're having! that's what happened to me last time but I keep telling myself the odds of it happening again are small. doesn't help that I've woken up at 9+ 6 not feeling particularly nauseous...

Tigsy positive thinking! :)

amylou85 · 09/04/2014 10:06

I know Tigsy that's what I keep trying to tell myself! I'm a worrier anyway! It's just such a miracle of a thing and we should all consider ourselves SO lucky that it has happened to us and remember that it is nothing we do that will change it, all up to the little sprogs now!
Yes mum is OK now, she is all stable and should be going home at end of week after surgery if all goes OK.

amylou85 · 09/04/2014 10:09

alita7 I haven't really felt nauseous for the last couple of days...isn't it sad that we're all wishing that on ourselves! Hah! It only occurs in a third of women so we shouldn't worry.....wish I could listen to my own advice!

My poor little one sat there in my 'womb of worry'! It'll be like 'HEY LADY! I'M TRYING TO GROW DOWN HERE! CHILL OUT!!!!'

alita7 · 09/04/2014 10:26

A THIRD amy??? you mean a third of women have an mc Including chemicals right? not a third of women have an mmc? those odds would not reassure me at all!

StudyFullTime · 09/04/2014 10:32

alita I think she means nausea/vomiting affects a third of women.
