Hi everyone,

A new thread for us chatty bunch due in November. Could someone repost the stats? I'm on my phone so can't do it. Thank you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
alita7 · 22/04/2014 19:14

Barmy it could be the tightness or could be you being more active?

I too keep getting paranoid about blood but haven't had any since 8 or 9 weeks.

It's my uncle's funeral tomorrow :/ so wish me luck in not throwing up etc extended family don't know and it's hardly the time to announce it! I'm a bit anxious about getting back in time for dad to drop me home as scan is early Thursday morning.

weeonion · 22/04/2014 19:27

Evening folks! Hope you all had a good Easter weekend. Been trying to keep up but blaming pg memory on not fully tracking at what stage we all are. By 1st scan I am now 13 wks 4 days but still not sure as i would have conceived before last period??

Haven't told anyone and we wont be for about another 3 weeks until all results are in. Have amnio booked now too... so will wait til after that.

Today was 1st morning felt a bit better so managed my cycle before work. Felt rubbish this afternoon but think that was due to spending 3 hrs in traffic jam. Hopefully marks end of a grim time.
Still dont feel "connected" to this pg - I guess as worried about being classed high risk. Roll on the next few weeks..... :-)

Annarose2014 · 22/04/2014 19:29

I'm 12+1 and today I told a "non-essential" person, I.e. a work friend. I was completely taken aback by her reaction - she was so excited she got tearful! It was really sweet. She was overjoyed for me.

Keep telling myself I'm safe to tell ppl, but I think I'll always worry. Its going around the extended family like wildfire - if anything bad does happen, it feels like the whole world will know. But what can we do? I'm getting bigger by the day.

Its nice not having to hide my belly though!

barmybunting · 22/04/2014 19:43

Hopeful, I think I am heading for maternity tights or leggings soon. No real bump to speak of but normal ones just hurt and I live in dresses and tunics, particularly for work so I need to find some way around it. I'm not normally a fan of wearing leggings to work but think they will probably be better than tights so may need to give in there!

Alita, thanks, it's probably a combination if the two, especially after the holidays. I'll avoid tights tomorrow and see how I get on. I hope the funeral goes as well as it can tomorrow and you feel ok.

Alita I hope it all goes ok tomorrow and you get back home in time for your scan on Thursday.

I'm 10+2 tomorrow and our scan is at 12. I am so scared and desperately hoping it'll all be ok. It's been interesting seeing what you all think about spilling the beans. I had a close friend who knows ask me today if we'll tell everyone if the scan's ok tomorrow. I'm not sure. It still feels a bit like tempting fate. I can't wait to settle down and stop worrying all the time...but maybe that's just wishful thinking!

ElleOhElle · 22/04/2014 21:18

thanks ladies, I'm not normally such a worry guts but was the same with 1st pregnancy.
I'm in awe of all of you keeping quiet til 12 weeks. everyone at work has known for weeks due to the type of job I do, as have close family and a couple of friends. I just think if the worst was to happen I'd probably have told those people anyway,so I try not to think of it as tempting fate.

itsjustthursday · 22/04/2014 21:36

Hi all. I think I'm headed for maternity tights too, weather isn't quite right for bare legs but my tummy is already too big to wear my tights comfortably and rolling them down digs in. Can't believe it! I was probably around 20wks when I switched to maternity tights last time... I feel so far along and I'm only 9wks!

Backache is also really starting to annoy me so have to find something for that.

GoooRooo · 22/04/2014 21:42

itsjusthursday you can get a bump support band which sits under your bump and helps with backache. Some have really strong back panels which will help.

We announced this pregnancy weeks ago - I'm currently 9 weeks - what will be will be. We were too excited this time so I really hope the scan at 13 weeks is all fine.

itsjustthursday · 22/04/2014 21:59

Gooo Yeah, think I need one! Trying to work out what to get - got an elastic thing last time but it was just light support, but I tried a different one and it was scratchy...

PosyFossilsShoes · 22/04/2014 21:59

We've told a few close friends & family. Most reaction has been massive surprise!

11+1 and the nausea seems to be going but I am soooooooo tired. I slept almost all of easter sunday, it was wonderful.

PosyFossilsShoes · 22/04/2014 22:00

Also, has anybody else lost their ability to speak as coherently as usual? I have to do a lot of presenting for work, and my vocabulary seems to have shrunk and i find myself going "aahh umm er" and losing the thread way more than usual. I hope this wears off!!

alita7 · 22/04/2014 22:33

I've just thought I'm wearing a dress with tights tomorrow... tights which I haven't worn since before baby. This is going to be interesting.

yes posy, I cannot manage a proper conversation anymore haha.

Elliekins · 22/04/2014 22:44

My back pain is ridiculous now, think it's sacroiliac joint or something, have been researching and this support belt is supposed to be amazing.
Going to order it and will review it properly later...

I'm off to chiropractor tomorrow as I can barely hobble to the loo tonight.Hmm

I have been struggling to string a sentence along for weeks Posy, I am also regularly walking into rooms with no idea what I went in there for, I went all the way to the shop and forgot what I went for.
Had to phone DP.
It was baked beans. Blush

Elliekins · 22/04/2014 22:47

Stupid link - I can't do simple tasks either!
Anyway, it's a Serola Sacroiliac Belt, Serola is the best make, apparently.

RandomInternetStranger · 22/04/2014 23:05

That's the belt I'm using too, it does seem to help holding my pelvis together and though it gives me one heck of a dodgy shape and makes me walk funny it is a bit of a godsend, I notice a difference when I don't wear it. I also have a much bigger belt with 3 straps and a very big back area which is better for later on when the bump gets bigger.

Try your local Red Cross - they were unbelievably amazingly fantastic with me and I can't sing their praises enough. I rang my local branch and by the end of the same day I had a wheelchair, high stool, shower stool, zimma frame, toilet frame and downstairs commode. I am already making good use of the loo frame, high stool and shower stool and will have to use the chair soon on bigger days out. I've also found a local company who hire out mobility scooters for £59 per month - they break down into 4 pieces to fit in the car, they charge by a normal plug and go for about 20 miles on smooth flat terrain between charges and seem absolutely ideal for when this gets really bad towards the end. Try tour local red cross though - the loo frame is helping me.

RandomInternetStranger · 22/04/2014 23:27

Anyone going to the Baby Shows coming up? There's Bluewater this weekend and Birmingham in May. Might do Birmingham and meet my parents there as it's half way between the 2 of us.

alita7 · 23/04/2014 00:21

random what are the baby shows like? do they have cheaper than normal stuff or is it all expensive?

alita7 · 23/04/2014 00:23

oh I didn't mean to send that yet.

was going to ask do we need to have a full bladder for this scan? The last 12 week scan is all a blur from what happened.

RandomInternetStranger · 23/04/2014 00:41

I only went to one at 9 weeks last time but I had fun. I came back with bags and bags and bags of free samples, leaflets, money off coupons etc but didn't buy much. It was more just a nice way of getting in the baby mood and getting ideas of what I do and don't want. It was also nice for trying lots of products close up like slings and cloth nappies (then searching for them cheaper or second hand!)

I went with DD when she was about 18 months and that was fun. She enjoyed it but it could have been a nightmare if she had been grabby with toys.

WinterLover · 23/04/2014 06:38

alita from what I remember yes we do.

9 hours till scan Grin

Polkadotscarf · 23/04/2014 07:04

Ha ha, barmy...that sounds like the perfect solution to work!
Alita, I was asked to give a urine sample just before my scan on Monday and she could still see everything despite signs on the loo door telling you not to go if you were having a scan!
I also just found out my blood type is rheas us negative and googled it...anyone else? I'm feeling nervous about lots of injections!

ElleOhElle · 23/04/2014 08:11

good luck winter!!

polka- yep I an rhesus negative - only one other injection which I did find a bit painful but maybe only cos I wasn't expecting it to be - blood tests etc don't bother me normally so it came as a bit of a surprise. last time I had anti d and glucose test on same day - not much fun (hopefully they'll book them for separate days this time.

weeonion · 23/04/2014 08:16

morning folks! exciting day for all those with scans - Winter - cant wait to hear your news.

Alita - a full bladder is needed for this one!

Thisisimpossible · 23/04/2014 08:43

Good luck Winter Smile

Greenstone · 23/04/2014 08:45
