If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

Basgetti you poor old sausage. You are such a trooper. Do you think it's likely that the nausea will get better in the coming weeks? I hope so for you!

As far as nub theory goes I have heard of it and have read that it is something to do with the ahem 'angle of the dangle' but more than that I have no clue!

That's rubbish about your headache Franks. Hope it eases up soon.

Feeling particularly cultured tonight as I'm off see a performance of 12th night in the open air. Hope the rain holds off! I may need to Google the plot so I know what's going on....

Hi ladies, thanks for having this thread, I'm pregnant and due Dec 14 after a miscarriage in 2012. I'm 18 weeks and still worry myself. Anyone else feel this way? xx

Penguin13 · 27/06/2014 22:51

Hi newmum and welcome. I'm sorry for your loss and that you're still worrying about what might happen. I think once I passed the 12 week scan milestone my anxieties calmed down a lot as that's when it all went wrong for us last time although I still have my moments. Is there anything particular that you're worrying about?

Hi newmum and welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about your previous loss. I am also 18 weeks and while the worry is not as prevalent now as it was pre 12 weeks I do still worry every day. My 20 week scan is in 2 weeks and I'm finding myself worrying about that more and more. I try and tell myself that 'today I am pregnant' every day.

franks your post made me chuckle as my dh is also away and dd and I have also decamped to my parents house for a bit of fuss and spoiling!

StrawbsAndCream · 28/06/2014 21:04

Thanks everyone, still finding it crazy that we actually know what we're having, but so good, makes it feel very real.. And I can suddenly feel him lots now.. Especially at night time, exactly where his long legs are! (His dad is a 6ft4 rugby player so so god help me!)

Welcome back Cakes lovely to hear from you again, great news on the heartbeat.. It's a big relief isn't it! We may actually have real life babies ..what?!?!

Hope everyone's poo problems are being resolved, weetabix helps me too and dried apricots! Yum, somehow I've had a bit of morning sickness back these past few days, have thrown up two mornings in a row, that's not fair by now surely!

president your holiday sounds amazing, I'm not surprised you can't wait, think of us all while your soaking up the sun on a little Greek Island and swimming in turquoise water Envy

MrsFtn that's not long to wait at all..eek!! I know I can't believe we're here already considering this thread was started with penguin's BFP.. Nuts! Good nuts!!

covent I am well impressed at your psychic abilities.. I didn't realise you hadn't seen a picture when you guessed! Grin he was definitely proud of his bits.. The sonographer was laughing at him being such a poser. I had to cut the pictures as they say 'boy' right next to his willy!

penguin totally agree with the maternity clothes, so so comfy. I allowed myself to get some after the scan, maternity jeans are heaven. What did you get and from where?? I'm finding it really hard to find anything decent, just got a few bits from H&M. Also had my boobs measured, I've gone from a 34C to a 34E! So now in gigantic nursing bras already as the lady said I might as well to save money, even though I could wear them as hats. Good news on the decreased bloat!

basgetti I've tried doing a bit of research on the nub theory, ours had an obvious one but I had mostly girl guesses so I think it's quite tricky to tell. Why don't you put a picture on and us novices shall try and guess! Flutters are so nice aren't they, I had a real hard kick last night in bed for the first time and DH was desperately trying to feel but I don't think you can feel from the outside yet. Very exciting!

franks hope your headache had improved and you're being spoilt at your parent's house!

Welcome to newmum lovely to have you with us, I know we're nearly half way there now but the constant worry is still definitely there, I'm sure for all of us after experiencing a loss/losses. Vent all you want here, that's what we're here for. Have you got any other children?

Hope everyone has had a good Saturday, oh penguin how was the performance?!

(Sorry had a lot to catch up on!) x

funchum8am · 28/06/2014 21:11

Hi everyone, I have been lurking on here until I felt safe enough that this pregnancy was looking established...just my stupid superstition after 2 mcs, both early at 6 weeks back in 2010. I then had my DD (now 20mo) in 2012 but have still felt too nervous to post for ages! I am now 15 weeks and due 20 Dec (but convinced baby will be two weeks late and need induction like DD) so hoping I can be forgiven the extended lurk and join you!

StrawbsAndCream · 28/06/2014 21:30

Well done on de-lurking funchum and welcome! I lurked for quite a while too as I was so paranoid! How has your pregnancy been so far? Exciting that your little girl will have a sibling for (maybe) Christmas!!

funchum8am · 28/06/2014 21:35

Pregnancy has been fine so far...huge sympathy to those who are STILL suffering with sickness! I threw up once this time at about 8 weeks and was thrilled, having had almost no symptoms at all with DD and feeling desperate for a sign that baby was ok. Nothing since then except tiredness and hair which doesn't get greasy even after 3 days (not that I plan to regularly leave it that long as it is a bit grim, but dying to know how long it would take to go manky!)

Though I did cry watching the Lion King today so maybe a bit hormonal....

Penguin13 · 29/06/2014 20:59

Welcome Fun. Really glad you now feel confident enough to de-lurk.

Strawbs poor you being hit by more ms in your second tri - no fair! Hope you're feeling better soon.

It has been a struggle to find mat clothes that you can actually try on - a lot of it seems to be only available online. I got the comfiest mat skinny jeans ever from red herring at Debenhams, and in my normal size - trying mat jeans on at H+M made me want to cry! I also got a cute printed top and a shift dress with gathering on the tummy to accommodate the bump, all from the same place. Was a bit spendy but I know I will wear the jeans to death which has nothing to do with getting a compliment on my legs the first time I wore then Grin

Oh and the twelfth night performance was great. All amateurs but they were so good and it was really funny. Gorgeous weather for it too.

StrawbsAndCream · 29/06/2014 21:50

In your defence fun I have never watched lion king without crying..ever! Great news on the hair, I've found mine has gone the opposite way Sad

penguin just googled red herring skinny jeans.. They look really nice and are on sale online. Are they blue denim? How skinny is skinny? I can't find many that are skinny enough on the ankles as they are on the thighs, as I have ridiculous chicken legs! And are they suitable for a very short person? (20 questions!)

In other news, there's a party going on in my womb right now apparently! (Must have been the 2 packets of fruittella I sent DH out to get) Nice after a quiet day yesterday.

Penguin13 · 29/06/2014 22:02

So envious of you being able to feel definite movement Strawbs! I am still at the 'totally could just be wind' stage. races out to buy fruitella immediately.

The red herring jeans I got are dark blue denim. I think they're pretty fitted at the ankle but I am relatively tall (5'7) with longish legs and they're a good length on me so they may be too long for you.

CakesALot · 30/06/2014 10:21

Morning all!

Strawbs- I got some nice comfy skinny maternity jeans from New Look. I'm pretty short too and they fit really well. Also cheap!!

Penguin- I'm at the could totally just be wind stage too! My midwife assured me it will get stronger and more definite in the next few weeks...so I'm waiting!!

Had a manic weekend full of parties and a wedding so have a day off to recover in the sunshine! For the first time since my bfp, I actually missed drinking this weekend, would have loved some fizz for the wedding toasts but got given lemonade with the kids!!

MrsFtn · 30/06/2014 10:38

Happy Monday all! I too am very jealous of definite movements. My anterior placenta is to blame for me not feeling anything apparently. I'm having trouble sleeping on my side recently. I keep waking up with my hips on agony. The only thing that helps is laying on my back which we're not supposed to do! I even have one of those long pillows but it isn't helping.

I've got two weddings coming up at the end of this month and a hen do. Will definitely miss the booze but I krep telling myself it's all for a good cause. I may have a sip of the real stuff just for the speeches. I ordered two dresses from debenhams with the idea that I would keep one and send one back but I love both of them ooops!

On the subject of skinny jeans I have a pair from new look that I bought for my first pregnancy and they fit beautifully. They come in different leg lengths too. I have non maternity skinny jeans from red herring and I agree they are lovely. I just can't fit into them at the moment.

Penguin13 · 30/06/2014 15:58

If any of you are usually lager drinkers I can recommend becks blue. Alcohol free but actually tastes pretty decent. I hadn't really missed alcohol (though attending my first teetotal hen do was a new experience) but on the very warm days we had recently an ice cold bottle of this really hit the spot and felt deliciously decadent.

Ooh are your dresses from Debenhams maternity ones Mrs? I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks time and whilst my new maternity dress will do it's not very weddingy.

My hips haven't been all that happy with the side-sleeping arrangements either Mrs. I tend to be a little stiff and achy in the morning though nothing too dreadful yet. It might be worth trying to see a physio if you are able to before it worsens.

Ok so I was just checking back in and my last message seems to have posted itself about 10 times somehow? ??? Sorry everyone, don't know what happened there Confused

penguin I bought an orange red herring mat dress with white flowers printed on and a grey rock a bye rosie mat dress with little shiny flowers on the top. They are very different but I can't decide! I did get them for weddings. Maybe I'll just see which one I can get shoes to go with first!

Morning all! Feeling a bit frustrated today. I had a 16 week midwife appt booked this morning and then i have my consultant/haematology joint clinic this afternoon at a different hospital.
Went to the morning one only to be told they didn't need to see me if I am seeing the consultant the same week.
Why did THEY book me in then? When I already had the consultant appt on the same day and we laughed about a hospital day when they booked it??
Anyway, was hoping to hear the hb today but that probably won't happen now. Luckily I have my doppler upstairs calling my name...

regularbutpanickingabit · 01/07/2014 10:32

Oh, and I booked a Harmony test for 14th July. I booked 3 weeks ago and this was their earliest slot so I am worried about what will happen if we get bad news. I will be 18 weeks and they can do it right up until birth.
My nuchal result was really good so I should be fine but we decided to spend the money for peace of mind.

Penguin13 · 01/07/2014 13:15

How frustrating Regular! It never ceases to amaze me how much NHS time is wasted by poor administration and organisation. I'm glad you are still able to have a little dopple to hear the heartbeat but I know it's not quite the same as getting someone to have a proper listen.

I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed with all the choices for baby things out there. We're keen to start buying ASAP to spread the cost but I don't know where to begin! Anyone else??
