Continued Sep-Oct thread for ladies who have experienced more than one loss in the past, so as to not scare the regular October folk!

Mine was bought forward too by a week (based on original doctor EDD) So was my first pregnancy and he came on time (by revised due date!) I have shorter cycles so guessed this preg was would be due on 14 oct based on when ovulated but my EDD is now 10 oct which like for you tum would have been impossible. I guess it's all just on how big the baby is at scan. I too wished they hadn't moved me forward as I may have to be induced as well - due to tear last time not sure they will let me go overdue. Will find out tho in a week as got consultant appointment.

TaytoCrisp · 05/05/2014 21:52

I'm on heparin and aspirin but have not had any discussion re: birth date. Still seems a bit early for me. I have a cervical stitch which will be taken out in week 37. I'm paranoid that the baby will slide out soon afteR (though will be delighted to get that far.) I wouldn't mind an elective c-section at 39 weeks. In fact I'd be keen! Did hypnobirthing, tonnes of antenatal yoga and sleeping on side before, but delivery has always gone haywire.. So I'm up for planned (as opposed to emergency) interventions that minimise risk this time.

I would be interested in the reasoning behind 38 weeks tum. Though two weeks early shoud be fine.. Little ones do very well from 33 weeks or so these days. Of course it would be ideal to keep them safe and sound til wk 39-40.

TaytoCrisp · 07/05/2014 23:22

Hope everyone is well. 19 weeks here today - nearly half way!

Hello! 18weeks tomorrow here and doing ok. At company event today and am knackered. But chosen appropriate clothing to hide bump. But it's the usual night of drinking ahead so not sure how that one is going to pan out.
I had a reassurance scan yesterday. Didn't think they were going to see much but because I'm quite slim she was able to do the anatomy checks that happen at the anomaly scan. Cannot describe my relief as this is the thing I've been having nightmares about - the scan and seeing something really wrong - but baby looked normal and was very wriggly!! Has made me feel more relaxed - even if temporary!!
I also had lots of Braxton hicks yesterday - but calmed down today. Phew.

Enjoy the holiday bugs. I went to Cyprus at 16 wks when preg with ds and it was weird not drinking! It was also cold (was over royal wedding) so April / may and remember sitting under a pile of towels with my factor 40 on!!

Hi all, bit paranoid here today, feeling a degree of heaviness and achiness in the lower abdomen. Scarred the baby is heading out the door! Hopefully im just very paranoid…

Rainy great that all looks well on the scan so far!

Bugs pity the hol hasnt been that relaxing. You will probably be more relaxed at home after a good scan on Thursday.. Best of luck then.. maybe you could ask them about the changing stomach size.

squizita · 12/05/2014 17:18

Waves! For some reason this dropped off 'my' discussions weird.
Tayto I got all sorts of dodgy feelings like that last week - they stayed mild and today bubs has learned a new skill, kicking in the fecking bladder so I nearly piss myself with gusto.

bugs I didn't have much going on bump wise until recently and over the past month my stomach has expanded massively.
hi squiz how are you doing?

nearlyreadytopop · 12/05/2014 18:18

I'm 24 weeks now and massive already. I had my gtt and all good. Is it really normal to be bigger with the 2nd preg?
A couple of people have shown polite surprise when I say I'm only 24 weeks, its made me quite self conscious todaySad I'm just telling myself its a good sign that means baby is growing.

squizita · 12/05/2014 19:35

Nearly I had someone tell me I "wasn't showing" today (22 weeks, quite clearly pregnant in an almost comical 'swallowed a football' front-facing bump way). People say RANDOM things!

OP posts:
fedupofrainydays · 13/05/2014 07:08

It upsets me when people say Bump looks small! As I get all worried about it not growing. To me though from the original flat tummy type, I look pretty pregnant so I'm ignoring. I've also put on 12 lbs! Sure majority is on my boobs, they are so heavy!

Good luck for scan when home bugs I think it will help reassure as the gap between 12 and 20 ish wks is so long.

Stuck on a very busy train carriage this commute that smells of sick. Not what you want at the best of times...

Fedup and Bugs I've always had a flat tummy and wide hips in spite of being greedy so I think there's just space for bean to grow!

Ha ha - used to women wearing bikinis who maybe shouldn't

Pretty much exact conversation me and DH had when in Cyprus. He was saying I was still way thinner than some of those ladies so just had a bit of a pot belly to them!!

squizita · 13/05/2014 11:58

Bugs I get 'and how are you' (point to bump). Like it's Austen Powers 'mini me'. Grin

used to women wearing bikinis who maybe shouldn't Me at the health spa at the weekend, bump everywhere. Grin

I was asked last pregnancy "are you blooming yet?"
Urrrrr no. Or you tell me as I feel fucking rank!

Tumtimes1 · 14/05/2014 11:29

Hi all!

Tayto I had that at 19/20 weeks it was feeling a bit period pain like but it went after 4-5 days.

I am 23 weeks on Friday and worrying also about the size of the bump and the amount of movement. I am a little obsessive with the monitoring but have decided unless its an obvious difference I am not going to start properly counting till 25 weeks. (that is based on my having regular-ish movement) I find that she moves most in the arvo and evening. Anyone else?

xxxx

fedupofrainydays · 14/05/2014 14:07

Yes - definately more in the arvo and pm although have had two sharp punches this morn. Phew. Nothing else though.

I had my consultant appointment today - apparently going for a vaginal birth is 'a good risk' to take this time. But it's section if.... Baby is bigger than ds (7.9lb), it's overdue, it needs forceps, its needs any rotation help, labour is long... So not sure of my chances as that's a long list!!
When I first sat down he asked 'so, have you thought about how you would like to deliver?' I was like 'errr no, more concerned whether this baby will get to term after mcs'. He was very nice and tried to assure me with stats and the like and that it will be ok. And said he would listen to HB for me. Got trainee doctor to do it but she fluffed it so he got the scan machine out so I got to have another look at baby. Was worried for a point when she couldn't seem to find it / I was sure it was the placenta noise and not baby. (I was right apparently!!)
So trying hard to focus on actually having a baby rather than each day of doubt that something is wrong. So very hard but am going to try.
Proper anomaly scan next Friday too.

Hope trip back ok bugs and scan goes well tomorrow

TaytoCrisp · 14/05/2014 23:35

Thanks for the reassurance squiz and tum - feeling less paranoid today!

I definitely would be very unimpressed with any bump stroking or patting too. I have generally not experienced it though have one very good friend who is quiet tactile and she is the only one who gets away with it!

Great to be one day into second half.. And people are already thinking about delivery! We hopefully won't find the time passing!

Good luck bugs. Hopefully u will have a good scan shortly, and can relax and catch up on ur sleep later. Will keep an eye out for ur update. It's easy to be even more worried when ur tired.. But as u say, u can't pinpoint anything specific that is a concern so I'm sure it will b fine. Will b thinking of u.

squizita · 15/05/2014 07:42

Sending reassuring thoughts Bugs. Scans are always scary, even when there's no reason.

Fedup Glad to hear that (if all goes well FX) you should get a straightforward birth, or as straightforward as these things go! I don't see anyone at the hospital until mid June, I guess that means they aren't worried but of course it makes me a bit tentative!
