no bubbles or flutters here yet, Sad thought i felt something yesterday but then when i tried to concentrate on it all i could feel was my pulse! ah well i should feel this with the next few weeks, 17 weeks on Thursday. have my next midwife appointment on the 9th, cant wait to here the heartbeat again.

i haven't been watching OBEM or midwifes as my hypobirth instructor said that you are better off keeping a positive mindset on your birth. OBEM is very dramatic and very rarely show hypobirths or completely natural birth.

i have watched the passed series of OBEM when i wasn't pregnant and do like the show

whiteblossom · 01/04/2014 09:40

ahh bug a boy Grin congrats

Im so glad you all don't think Im being ungrateful, but like you I would never pass on something that wouldn't be happy to receive. The only things Ive passed on are never worn/barely worn clothes or shoes. I carbooted my baby gear years ago and was surprised what people bought! It was like a plague of locust trying to get in my boot, shouting "how much" Grin.

Ive watched obem before but I don't want to watch it now Im pg. I don't want to know what could happen. I went with the flow last time and was fine, I plan to do the same this time only in a birthing pool! (and a net hehehe)

have a good day everyone x

rockin20s · 01/04/2014 10:12

i am very happy to receive second hand clothes (i will wash them before use even if they look clean) but i agree if it s torn/broken or has stains that cant be gotton out yourself, then dont send give them away.

all other items should only be given second hand if they can be properly washed otherwise you are just using that person as a dumping ground.

i think soft toys shouldn't be second hand, you just cant clean them properly. bottles i do think is weird. i suppose the bottles themselves would be ok with but would get new teeths as they can deteriorate.

i think some of this stuff is given in good faith and they dont mean to offend. I think a better idea would be to lay out all the stuff and say take what you want and i will take back the rest rather then dumping 2 big bags on your doorstep.

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 11:34

There was someone in the birthing pool all natural birth she was soooo calm apart from saying oh fuck me.
That was nice to see.

TheOnlySeven · 01/04/2014 11:45

Congratulations bug.

tea DS is really looking forward to the new baby. The DDs are too young to rally understand, though DD1 does occasionally say baby tummy.

Very proud of my DS today. He started taking steroids today to slow down his muscle decline, took them without a fuss as good as anything. Buying him a McDonald's later.

Dazedconfused · 01/04/2014 12:23

I did like how chilled out the young girl in the birthing pool was. I turned to Dh and said that will not be me....the air will be blue then she swore (once) haha.

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 13:51

Just spoke to the most ignorant bitch.
Had to ring about urine results as im still in pain.
Theres something there but somehow the sample has been contaminated Hmm (with what? I pissed in a pot sealed it and handed it over) and she spoke to someone else and I overhead her say that theres something thereand she told me it was fine. I asked her about it amd she said yh but cant comment on it so basically suffer in pain another 10days.
Angry

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 14:20

She could have said right it says this and I will get a dr to ring as its not just no growth. Ive been in pain since feb when the results where the same they did nothing in clinic but when the renal dr saw me he said them results show there is something going on and should have been given antibiotics. Really hope this has no impact on baby.

Teabiscuits · 01/04/2014 14:31

Nice to hear about positive reactions from siblings. Our DD1 (6) is super excited and loves reading my pregnancy book every week to find out what's happening. DD2 (4) is mildly interested when she remembers and DS is 9 months so blissfully unaware.

Teabiscuits · 01/04/2014 14:33

isitme I would kick up a fuss big time. Surely having a course of antibiotics just in case would be better, they hand them out like sweets for everything else.

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 14:56

I have long term kidney problems and ive had e coli in my kidneys too resistant to 1 lot of antibiotics so now im resistant to 2 different types. The ones that normally work were nitrofurintoin which I had on repeat prescription. Its soo bloody painful to wee! I get the pain in bladder and kidneys too. She just seemed like she did not care. Im going to see if I can get a direct number for renal consulant or the consultant who sees me in clinic (I have 1 for renal and for problems during pregnancy and after delivery)

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 14:57

Ohh ds (4 im sept) loves babies he sees them and goes awwww baby cute and is brill most of the time with his lil bro. I have told him theres a baby in mamas tummy but don't think he really understands

whiteblossom · 01/04/2014 15:10

Hi isitme it sounds like you have some kind of underlying problem but I wondered if you had tried cranberry tablets- they prevent the bad bacteria from sticking to the side of the bladder/urethea (sp) so when you wee it flushes out the bacteria. Wont cure you but will help prevent further infections. I swear by them (Holland and barret triple strength)

I hope you get to the bottom of it soon, I know how sucky it can be x

I've had to chase my docs as between the nurse and the mw no one knows anything about b12/folate levels. I normally have injections & tablets but ive been told to stop until they know what they are doing!!

I bought some dummies today- learnt the hard way last time and refused the use them until I was desperate! (new mums eh!) Grin

three weeks to 20 week scan and Ive decided to find out the sex today, I was in two minds before.

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 15:16

Blossom I bought a set of bottles that came with a dummy and bottle cleaner (avent natural range absolutely wonderful bottles) but I said im not giving him a dummy as ds1 was a pain in the arse for his dummy. Turned out I needed them!
I used to have b12 jabs

I felt first definite movement today at 14+0. Seems very early - I thought I felt some flutters last week but wasn't sure if I was imagining it - but I felt first movements around 16 weeks with my first so maybe not! Was a lovely moment

Teabiscuits · 01/04/2014 18:39

isitme poor you, hope you get it sorted.

weebairns I was feeling movement at 14 weeks, and midwife agreed that I was probably right. Some people do feel it very early, especially if they know what it feels like already. I didn't feel it that often though until 15 weeks, and since 16 weeks I feel it every day :)

whiteblossom · 01/04/2014 18:45

isitme how come you have stopped the b12 injections?
GP just phoned to say I should continue with injections as normal and no need to take folic acid. He had to speak with the consultant gyny at the hospital to confirm. turns out that's what the MW should have contacted the consultant directly, instead of referring me to the nurse who then referred me to gp, who then contacted consultant- gp was not impressed!

There are so many bottles to choose from, a friend recommended tommee tippee, I cant remember what I had last time...have you used the avent before then?

I am massive today but looks like beer belly Sad at least I only have three more days to hide it from school mums prying eyes and then after the hols I have my scan and I can 'out' the belly Grin yay school hols!

Inbl00m · 01/04/2014 18:49

weebairn and Ellabella I had my 16-week check-up today and asked the midwife about whether what I was feeling could be the baby and she said what I described (like a cross between light tapping and an eye twitch!?) is the baby moving. Don't know whether this is true but she also said that if you're a smaller person you're more likely to feel movement early.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 01/04/2014 19:14

My 8yr old son wasn't too fazed by the news when we told him, but my 2 year old son is a different story, he's been all over me literally since I became pregnant. Obsessed with my tummy, and cuddles it, blows raspberries on it, kisses it, quite cute really :)

Bananapickle · 01/04/2014 20:14

My 3 yr old DD is really excited about us having a baby. She tells everyone that mummy has a baby in her tummy!
Although the slight problem is that she really wants a sister so I have to keep telling her that we don't know yet and it might be a brother!
She is very sweet though as she jumped on me this morning and I said she needed to be careful because of baby so she said sorry to baby!!
I'm 16 weeks is anyone else still feeling tired or is it just me?!!
I want my energy back...

cookielove · 01/04/2014 20:19

So I was looking at my "bump" and I was lifting the fat blob of my belly up and usually I can make my self look quite skinny, hidden behind my hands. And I had actual rounded belly underneath, I realise I am insane but am quite pleased!

isitme1 · 01/04/2014 20:27

I had a few months of them twice a week then once a week etc
I then went to see dh who was abroad and fell pregnant. We were ttc before that but failed. Then I fell pregnant pretty quick after that 2nd cycle
came back and dr never mentioned anything so left it.

Feels like baby is wriggling inside Grin

kicksandgiggles · 01/04/2014 21:13

Thanks for all the congratulations Smile

My DS is 2.9 and he's known about the babies from very early on. He's really excited that he's going to be a big brother. He comes in every morning for a cuddle, kisses my bump, and talks to the babies. It's very sweet.

Nazly · 01/04/2014 21:30

Isitme and lil thanks, I think I may go for the NHS one and later change if possible, can't believe the good crown costs more than what I was thinking to pay for a complete baby travel system and was doubtful if we can afford it....

Isitme I would make a big fuss if I were you, surely you'll get a better response if you do... It just doesn't make sense the way they are handling it, my mum have similar problems and I know how difficult it can be ...

Bug congratttttts, another blue :) is september the blue month?
