So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

I haven't got a clue. I'm a married woman in my mid 20s and I have a 2 year old daughter.

(Just for reference sake, I don't really think it's acceptable to tell anyone anything but congratulations if they just shared the news of a pregnancy with you regardless of their circumstances)

ImBrian · 30/03/2014 10:39

Mythical I can imagine how you feel my mother told me it wasn't too late to abort my last child (I was 13 weeks) so she definitely won't be happy about a 5th.

mythical that's really rubbish I feel for you.
imbrian I take it you won't be telling your mum about this one just yet then?

I wasn't going to tell my parents about my last two mcs because I thought they would think it was for the best. I'm married with one dd but we only have a 2 bedroom house and can't really afford to move. I had to tell them in the end though as I had erpc and needed them to look after dd while I was in hospital. They were actually very supportive and while they aacknowledged it would be challenging to have two children in our small house they obviously didn't think it was reason enough not to try.
I agree that no one shouldrbe anything other than happy for someone who tells them they are pregnant - even if it is unexpected or unplanned. Hopefully nine months will give people enough time to get used to the idea x

ImBrian · 30/03/2014 13:22

No mrs I'm hoping to get to 20 weeks before people are told.

rockstars12 as sweepthehalls said the advice I've been given is to take my inhaler as I need it as the effects of not taking it are worse than of taking it. She also said just to keep an eye on things and to let her know if it becomes very bad or I'm having to use the inhaler all of the time as I don't usually use it much at all.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 30/03/2014 16:48

Today ds has been elbowing me in the boobs - a LOT.

Owwwwww.

rockstars12 · 30/03/2014 19:24

Hey all! Welcome to the new peeps. To all the mummies happy Mother's Day and to those to be hope you're all doing well.
I had my first sickness at work today, sick 3 times. Bluegrass. Breasts very tender and my back is killing.
I also PDAs this morning to see if my hormone levels had gone up and it said 2-3 instead of 1-2 which was nice. Have to stay positive.
Gonna see if there's anything in the kitchen I can persuade myself to eat!

ImBrian · 30/03/2014 19:59

I was just about to ask if anyone had started being sick yet.
Poor you, did you feel better after?
I feel queasy on and off all day but it's not that bad.

Give in and told both sets of parents today, it seemed appropriate as it's Mother's Day Smile both were really pleased. I figured that we would need their support if it went wrong, and it was really nice to be able to tell them today.

PunkyPod · 30/03/2014 20:58

I was showing my mum a couple of videos of dd today and freaking out coz if she'd flicked through my photos she'd have come across photos of my pregnancy tests!!! (Am I the only weirdo who takes photos??) Wink

Bettycakes80 · 30/03/2014 21:35

Hey, just wanted to share that the tip to drink milk for heartburn worked a treat! No sickness yet, but can't say I'm looking forward to that!

somethingwittynot · 31/03/2014 07:10

Refresher and love heart sweets are also really good as are mints for heartburn. No actual sickness here just feel sick

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 11:01

Hi all, hope you had nice weekends.

I have been having horrible painful cramps for a lot of the weekend and continuing today but no period (was due yesterday). But like RALLY painful cramps, like an extra extra extra bad period. Also feeling dizzy and nauseous. Did any of you experience this so early in pregnancy? I really don't remember having cramps like this last time... Or nausea. The migraines and nausea started in week 6 if I recall last time, not already in week 4...

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 11:29

Also, what's with the dizzy?! I just saw stars from simply standing up from sitting down.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 31/03/2014 11:47

Mopsy this is my first and I have been having bad cramps last week or so and only 4.5 weeks seems to have died down now perhaps it's just around when af due and everything stretching etc I also feel extremely knackered and just can't seen to focus! God help me!!
Another thing one morning I have diarrhea and the next im constipated how does that work?! Lol
Is anyone taking the pregnacare vits? I'm taking the max ones with omega 3 as seemed like the best. Going to try really hard to eat right as well

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 11:49

I am taking the cheapy boots pregnancy vits (exact same as Pregnacare but way cheaper, especially as they were on 3-for-2 when I got them).

Reassuring that I am not the only one having cramps. I keep expecting to see blood when I go to the loo.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 31/03/2014 11:49

Punky I've got piccies of my tests I even put the ic ones on canyouseealine as I wasn't sure and im so glad I got a pic of the boots digital 'pregnant' one as it's now vanished from the test screen!! :(

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 31/03/2014 11:51

Are the ingredients exactly the same mopsy? If so might have to investigate

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 11:52

I asked pharmacist and he said they are just as good.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 31/03/2014 12:18

Is anyone else thinking how am I going to wait another 8 weeks before we tell everyone?! Argh!!!

MrsFtn · 31/03/2014 12:53

I am still taking seven seas 'trying for a baby' vitamins! It does say they're for early pregnancy too though and I don't want them to go to waste as I have 2 boxes left!
I've had slight cramping on and off for about a week now but still no other symptoms which is worrying me more each day. But on the positive side I've had no bleeding either and bleeding had started by this point in my last three pregnancies. I think I might not be as far on as I thought. Thought I was 5+4 today but I've had 4 long cycles after erpc (2x 40 days and 2x 35 days). Hoping the symptoms will kick in soon.
I'm going to have to tell work tomorrow due to the nature of my job but feels wrong telling colleagues before family! Definitely going to be a long wait til 12 wk scan!

somethingwittynot · 31/03/2014 12:58

I was pescribed pregnacare last time!

PunkyPod · 31/03/2014 12:58

I'm just on the folic acid at the mo. Will probably start the superdrug preggo vits when I finish the folic acid pot. They're pretty cheap too. The branded ones cost a fortune!

I have a little album on my phone with pics of my ic tests. Am planning on doing my digi this weekend and then i'll quit with the testing. Am so anxious about losing this little thing growing inside me...

Going to the Drs on Thursday Smile

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 13:00

I just bought 4 more cheapo tests this morning (£3 for all four) and tested positive again. Bit obsessive but so many cramps that I am a bit worried...
