So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Dipping my toe in ladies. Am only on cd25 but I've been testing since Saturday morning & the lines been getting darker :)

Due date 12/12 but likely to be early for various reasons I won't go into now.

This is today's.

December 2014, anyone else yet?

Congratulations on your bfp abouttime and don't worry, many of us are currently members of poas anonymous!
mopsy I'm sure the cramps you are experiencing are just your uterus stretching and preparing for the months to come. I've had a few dizzy moments too but usually when I haven't eaten for a while

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 13:46

Thanks MrsFtn, finding it hard to get excited yet as so worried ... :(

isambardo · 31/03/2014 15:06

Hello all, can I join? I'm feeling very surprised to be expecting baby #2, due date 4th December. We have a 16 month old son who we co-sleep with, only managed to dtd once last month! Emilypinkorblue I was lurking on the ttc thread and when you got your bfp I was thinking 'we must try harder next month', now I think we have the same edd!
Been poas every day to check I'm not going mad :)

Bubba84 · 31/03/2014 16:44

Congratulations to all the new BPFs!!! What a feeling, eh girls? Grin

I'm just catching up with all the chat as I've been away this weekend for my best friend's wedding. Which was fantastic! My morning sickness managed to die down a bit so there was no gagging which I'm relieved as thought my friends would cotton on. The "no drinking" seemed not to be noticed much until the evening when one of my good friends asked a million times why I wasn't drinking and kept hinting I was pregnant. I lost my rag and just told her to accept what my reasoning was and to leave it alone. I just thought it was really rude as if she had a feeling I was pregnant, she should be respectful and realise it's early days and not to keep asking questions. She's been pregnant herself! She did apologise so I think she took the hint I was annoyed Angry

Anyway.... how's everyones symptoms? I'm definitely noticing my boobs are getting a bit bigger which is nice as always wanted bigger boobs Grin I've got a question for all you ladies that have been pregnant before... I haven't heard anything from the midwife yet and wondering if this is normal or should I phone up my GP to find out as she said it would be pretty soon and it's almost a fortnight since I was at my GPs??

Bubba84 · 31/03/2014 16:45

mopsytop be careful with the dizziness as that's a sign of low blood pressure which can be caused by not eating regularly. Make sure you're having a little and often Smile

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 16:58

Thanks Bubba, I actually just had a dizzy spell there where everything actually went black for a minute. Luckily I was just beside the bed so I sat down. Bit nervous about driving until this settles down though. I have eaten a healthy breakfast and lunch and fruit for snacks in between so I shouldn't have low BP...

mopsytop · 31/03/2014 16:59

Also, that is very annoying re: your friend. People can be so insensitive. It is the same when people keep asking when you are going to start trying or when you are having no. 2. a) you might not want to have a baby or a second baby and if so, it is none of their effing business and b) what if you are having trouble conceiving or suffered a miscarriage? Again, none of their business. I don't get why people feel it is okay to be so nosy.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 31/03/2014 17:19

With my first I saw the GP at 5 weeks but didn't get an appointment with the midwife until 12 weeks, I can't remember when they contacted me though sorry.

I've said before, I'm impressed with the new system where I live. Home visits from the midwife, no need to see the GP and apparently I'll have the same midwife the whole way through! Last time I don't think I saw the same midwife twice! From what MIL says it looks like they've gone back to the way it used to be done around here.

No sickness so far, although I've felt very nauseous all day. That's different from last time as I was never nauseous without promptly throwing up every 30 minutes with ds.

Trying not to get stressed at work too as that made the morning sickness worse last time. However today it just feels like everyone is doing their best to stress me out!

nickyjlees · 31/03/2014 17:21

emilypinkorblue right there with you, so hard not to tell anyone and 8 weeks seems like a lifetime away!

nickyjlees · 31/03/2014 17:23
  • esp as it would explain to some people ( esp at work) why I'm so knackered and crabby!
MrsFtn · 31/03/2014 17:27

Where I live mw usually sees you for booking in appt when you are 8-9 weeks then they make he appt for your 12 week scan while you are there

Bubba84 · 31/03/2014 17:51

mopsytop I'm with you on that, even friends should know not to cross that line about having babies/being pregnant. If you say, then you're inviting them to make comments but if not, then they need to respect your space.

It seems there is quite a disparity in regards to seeing your mw. I'm going to phone my GP surgery tomorrow just to query and it'll put my mind at rest! I'm 7 weeks on wed so finally feel like I'm making some progress to the 12 week line especially when it's April tomorrow. Don't like wishing my life away but just can't wait to get that scan and to find out bubba is healthy and then we can share our news. I really can't wait to tell my family and friends seeing as we're the only 2 that know about it!

SweepTheHalls · 31/03/2014 17:57

I have managed to resist POAS today, but pretty sure I will cave tomorrow, I just need to see that 1-2 weeks turn into 2-3 and I will be so much happier. Rang the surgery today to try and make a booking in appointment for my day of each week so as not to affect work, and she only does them on Mondays, during one of my key classes. Ah! Work are not going to be impressed, and I really didn't want to tell them so early on.

Bubba84 · 31/03/2014 18:15

Well work will need to lump it as you can't do anything about trying to re-organise it and they have to let you attend your appointments!

ImBrian · 31/03/2014 18:30

Hello new bfps and congratulations Smile
I'm taking the pregnacare vitamins but also need a higher dose of folic acid so take about 10 of the tiny folic acid ones a day too. I'm trying to be good with eating, I'm a stone a trimester girl and there is no way I'm doing that again.

I dry heaved today! Walking down the corridor at school which wasn't the best place to be! I only feel sick when I'm hungry but that doesn't exactly help with the sensible eating!

I'm some where between 5 and 6 week and I'm still crampy, I spend half my time in the loo checking.

I know, I had to make all my Year 11 class sit together this afternoon as every time as stood up I got light headed!

Vicky5910 · 31/03/2014 19:08

Glad to see some other teachers here! I'm struggling being miles away from the loo and having hectic days! :o x

ImBrian · 31/03/2014 19:18

I normally have the patience of a saint but at the minute my class are driving me crackers! Must be the hormones.

Congratulations about time and isambargo!! So exciting and nerve racking at the same time isn't it! Isambargo I'm touched that you remember me from the conception boards! How funny that we have the same edd!!
I got a call from the midwife this evening my first appt is booked for the 22nd April when I will be 7.5 weeks :) she said the first appt is normally between 7 and 8 weeks as that's the earliest they can do blood tests

Bubba84 · 31/03/2014 19:42

Emily thanks for that information, I'm definitely going to phone my GP surgery tomorrow to find out when I'll get an appointment now if I'm bout 7 weeks!

ImBrian · 31/03/2014 19:43

At my last surgery the midwife would book you in at about 8/9 weeks. I haven't been to the docs yet, think I'm going to go for a private scan then go.
