So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

I just wanted to pop on and say congratualtions and good luck ladies! I was on the December thread last year, doesn't seem like two minutes ago. DS is now 15 weeks old and snoring away peacefully on me.

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 12:16

Emily I personally wouldn't worry about using a hot water bottle as long as it isn't scalding hot and it's helping, then I'm sure it'll do you no harm. I have found alot of advice can be conflicting so I always tend to go with my gut instinct. We know our own bodies!

rockstars you lucky lady you getting cooked for!! Ooft a fry up makes me want to gag a bit though Sad

MrsFtn congratulations and welcome! I know symptoms are reassuring but there's something in me where I think I would worry if I had no symptoms and symptoms! As my Mum has always said, the worry doesn't stop when you become a Mum. And as this is my first, I'm slowly beginning to understand that! POAS is a great ritual to give you a bit of reassurance, my husband can't understand why I have been continuing to do it when I got one that said preg! I've got a nice wee collection now for a keepsake heehee! Grin

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 12:17

Aw that's nice, thanks ThefutureMrsTatum! Glad all is well Smile when was DS born in December?

nickyjlees · 28/03/2014 12:21

After many many tests had a confirmation with a digital test yesterday. I think my EDD is around the 1st - 4th December.

Very shocked and excited as Id been told that I couldn't have children. My partner and I are excited and scared in equal measure I think but feeling very very lucky and hoping that all goes well.
Fingers crossed for all the ladies waiting for those positive tests!

rockstars12 · 28/03/2014 12:27

Lol bubba84 I'm going to enjoy it whilst I still feel like eating it. Never know when you'll go off you're favourite foods.
Thank you TheFutureMrsTatum any advice useful for December births and babies?
I will use up my last cb digital test on Sunday when I'm due to be 5 weeks to see if the week indicator moves. I'm also a Basel body temperature nutcase. I used it for ttc and noticed my temp is always 37 degrees plus for pregnancy, so now I'm obsessed with checking its still up there and my hormone levels haven't decreased which would make it drop. Last night I got 36.3 after coming home from work and was a little upset. I completely overlooked the part where I was in the freezing cold for hours just prior to that. This morning it w over 37 again. Don't know why I do it to myself. Between that, knicker checking, cramp and symptom spotting I'm making myself crazy.

Welcome nicky am I right in assuming this is your first?

ThefutureMrsTatum · 28/03/2014 12:34

Well I was due on Christmas day! He arrived on 16th though, and is DC3. Make no plans for xmas, just have someone who is prepared to accomodate you if you feel like it. I did all my chrsitmas shopping in the summer while I had the energy to walk round. it's such an exciting time, and having a baby in December just seemed a little more magical!

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 12:34

nickyjlees congratulations and welcome to the December thread!! Thanks

rockstars12 I'm just jealous!! Prawn cocktail crisps and cheese sandwiches seem to be the most least gaggy food for me just now. I'm dreading Sunday as I have my best friend's wedding and I'm bridesmaid. AND I'll be at the top table!! No hiding my gagging Confused

ImBrian · 28/03/2014 12:34

Hello to all the new people Smile I think there's a few of us on here who have had previous miscarriages so we can hold each other's hands. I'm past af due date now but I'm still paranoid!

I feel slightly sick first thing, about 3pm and last thing at night but as soon as I eat something it goes. I'm only somewhere between 4-5 weeks though so a bit early plus I've only been physically sick in one out of 7 pregnancies so I might escape again.

ThefutureMrsTatum good thinking about Christmas shopping, I never even thought of that! Did you get Christmas decorations up by any chance?? I love Christmas and wouldn't be right without decorations but then again, it'll probably be the last thing on my mind!!

ThefutureMrsTatum · 28/03/2014 12:41

Yes, I was out of hospital the day after and tree up day after that. I had family round so went and bought the tree, and everyone just put stuff on it throughout the day and put the decs up round the house.

nickyjlees · 28/03/2014 12:55

Thanks Bubba84!

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 13:00

Wow, you're an inspiration!! Hope that's going to be me Grin

littlepickly · 28/03/2014 13:18

I'm not really sure we can afford early scan as we're in the process of moving house and spending out on so much at the mo - it would be nice to just have that reassurance tho.

I'm trying so hard to be relaxed this time around but have taken another 2 tests today and the line seems a lot feinter than yesterday - I don't know if that's anything to worry about but I just feel unsure - my only symptom is slightly sore boobs at the moment and I think I am 5 weeks today by the calculator but maybe slightly less, I'm a week over due for AF. Just need to take each day as it comes I guess.

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 13:43

My first was due Christmas day but came on 19th Dec. I guess most of us will have ours before Christmas though as the babies all seem to be due v early December

nickyjlees · 28/03/2014 13:56

Hi rockstars12, yes this is my first

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 14:17

littlepickly have you seen your GP yet? I would maybe give them a call and see if you can get your bloods done. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but sometimes worthwhile to get reassurance.

As for an early scan, I know exactly what you mean... we're in the same boat. I'm sure if we felt it was necessary we would find the money. Otherwise I'm going to hang on for the 12 weeks...

Chipandspuds · 28/03/2014 14:20

DS was born on Christmas Eve :)

I did all my Christmas shopping early that year, so I'll definitely plan to get it early this year too. All going well it will be lovely to have DS and a little newborn at Christmas :)

I totally agree ThefutureMrsTatum on December being a lovely time to have a new baby!

Bubba84 I hope it goes well on Sunday and no gagging! Will anyone notice you not drinking? I have excuses lined up for a party I'm going to tomorrow and have nominated myself as driver!

nickyjlees what lovely news and what a big shock it must have been! My neighbour told me that his wife was told she couldn't have children, but somehow she has 3 lovely children :)

To all those worrying I'm sending positive thoughts! It is early on and I do worry too but hopefully we will all be getting kicked in the ribs by our growing babies soon!

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 14:28

Chipandspuds thanks for the positive vibes! Well not drinking is another big worry as all my friends will know something is up. I'm not sure whether to use the "not feeling well" excuse or the "I'm on medication so can't drink" excuse. Either way there's going to be a few doctors about who may ask too many questions! Hmph... well apart from gagging and the not drinking, I'm really looking forward to it! Grin

nickyjlees · 28/03/2014 14:30

Chipsandspuds it really was a shock especially as I had all my usual pre AF symptoms.

its been so helpful to be able to log on here for loads of advice as I've kind of always avoided finding out about pregnancy stuff before because it made me feel sad that it would never be me. Just goes to show that little miracles can happen.

Fingers crossed for all of our baby kicks ladies!

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 14:46

I'll second that, nickyjlees!!

mopsytop · 28/03/2014 14:49

Is it normal to get so many symptoms even before period due? I definitely had the big boobs last time (overnight) and the waves of exhaustion and dizziness but I am pretty sure the migraines didn't start for a couple of weeks. Is it because it is second time round?

somethingwittynot · 28/03/2014 15:05

Got my digi tests now. Cant wait to get home!

Bubba84 · 28/03/2014 15:13

somethingwittynot good luck!

mopsytop could be! I'm sure a lot of people support that second time round things are different, maybe your body recognises the changes and is reacting more sensitively as it remembers from last time?? What do I know, I'm not a doctor and this is my first pregnancy Smile
