So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Congratulations kittycat!! And your first only 11 months Wowwie!! Oo how does that work with just coming to the end of your maternity leave? Are work going to be ok do you think? I quite like the thought of having our first and then having second quickly after but who knows!

dgift · 16/04/2014 15:19

Hello everyone.
pls am a bit worried. I am 5weeks. I tested again yesterday but the former pink line was so bold( no longer faint) but still no single symptom except some constant rumbling in my tommy and colour changes in my skin.
with my first pregnancy ,I had symptoms from 4 weeks but this one am worried.
Should i go for for scan

Welcome everyone new!
Kitty, we have 18/19m between ds1 & 2, it's a lovely gap. DS2 is 8 months atm.

dgift, I have zero symptoms. I'm going for a scan in two weeks (privately) but line progression is a good thing. So fingers crossed for you x

espa, our MW's won't do a booking appointment until you're past 7/8 weeks here.

Have fun in Germany Covent, business or pleasure trip?

PIL are coming down this weekend fun not going to tell them until after the scan, will be interesting to see if DH can keep quiet about it!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 16/04/2014 15:25

Wow extra welcome Whats! How many dc have you got (guessing by username, it's many) Grin

SassehMonsta · 16/04/2014 15:37

Welcome! I've been boosted on and off and had nausea but not been sick yet (just!!). Today I managed only the morning at work as was feeling so crap, so now chilling at home feeling sorry for myself & watching rubbish on tv.

Booked in with the midwife for my first booking in appointment on 12th May, which is 9+2 but I've opted to pay for a private scan at about 7 weeks just for reassurance (week on Friday!). If all goes well we will tell parents the day after.

I've also got line progression - this morning it was strongest yet! Can't wait till scan just to confirm.

Hurrah for progression Sasseh!

Whats, hurrah for small gaps! We'll have 3 under 3 for a few weeks (depending on when this one arrives).

Wow drfunks and whats glad it's possible/ survivable / enjoyable! Feels a little crazy at the moment!

emily no idea what work will say, if I start mat leave as early as possible and take all my leave rather than the money, I am only going to be back for 13 three days weeks... Like last time I won't be telling them until 14 weeks!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 18:11

Welcome all and congrats.

How come there are still only 36 ladies on the XmasBabyClubStats register please, Smile I can't keep track!

So OH went to self refer me to hospital. Do I still need to go and see my GP?

Desire for pizza has come back, I might give in tonight, despite the shock of horror at the sight of the mirror.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 16/04/2014 18:25

Ooh had a nosey peek at potential baby names; Sasseh, love Morgana! President, Lydia was on our list for DS2 (but as a boy, we chose to give him another name...one on your boy list!

Covent, you need to take Liana (no.16) off, she had an ectopic Sad
If you've self referred no point seeing GP as they'll just refer you again (although would be nice to accidentally get two scans)!

Someone a few pages back asked about pregnancy books, I have the 2011 version of this book, it's a really great, useful and well set out book which updates yearly (think vit d pills are the only extra thing since 2011)!

ffallada, put down the Mail...oh ok you can read sidebar of shame!

whatsonemore if I do manage to carry my twins safely to term I have read they all arrive no later than37 weeks generally. So technically it will be earlier but my due date is December, so I'm staying put.

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 19:24

Thanks DrFunk, i've cancelled my GP appointment.
I've taken liana off Sad. But it's really a google doc that anyone can update.
We're off to Germany to see OH's dad, I wouldn't go if he wasn't so unwell.

Martie1 · 16/04/2014 19:30

Thanks DrFunkes it was me asking about books. Will check that one out. whatsonemore and rockstars definitely stay put, you've joined the gang, you can't leave now Smile

symptoms for me: larger boobs and a very dull ache in them, sorer at night, thought i was going to spew last night and morning but thankfully not, stomach has settled down so less runs to the toilet but had a very disturbing dream about being constipated last night! Did another ic this morning, incredibly strong line. I just cannot wait til my scan, seems like the next few weeks are going to feel like forever. Feel like im going to let the news slip as DH and I have now become more used to it, though I still keep wondering if there is actually a baby growing in me. Plan on telling my parents on Easter Sunday and Im so looking forward to that. Now 6wks +1.

ImBrian · 16/04/2014 20:26

Told my sister and parents today. Sister was upset as currently having fertility treatment and parents mortified that I'll have 5 children. Can't please everyone I suppose!

Hi all. Congrats to the newbies. I'm prob going to be having mine at 36 weeks again due to complications last time. So also looking at a mid November ELCS but I'd rather stay here with you girls who will be at the same stage as me all the way along Smile

Been feeling a little less nauseous today and managed to eat 2 decent meals. Hopefully this is a good sign fx.

PolytheneGirl · 16/04/2014 20:32

Also am I the only one really struggling with smells? Today I have thrown away my duvet, bathed my friends DS and cleaned everything in sight as all were stinky, I'm also washing my bed linen every other day. According to DH it's all in my head! he's obviously lying/got no sense of smell, it all stinks!

Bumblesprout · 16/04/2014 21:09

Hi Everyone,

Got a BFP on Saturday and have been in a pretty shocked and dazed state ever since! Only really been trying for a couple of months so we were really shocked that it happened so quickly! Fab news and we are really excited, but trying desperately to keep a lid on it and not get carried away as it's soooo early. Due date is 20th Dec all being well, and it's our first so could well be a Christmas baby!
Not read back through all the thread yet but will get caught up! However a quick symptom update - wind and bloatedness has got pretty bad today - undid my work trousers sitting at my desk lol!! Faint nausea since before BFP and still there but fading a bit. Other than that still feel normal so have now poas another 3 times since sat to double check! Blush

Xxx

Bumblesprout · 16/04/2014 21:17

Hi paranoid, I think I've added my stats to the sheet but not sure... Bumblesprout, dc1, Sheffield, EDD 20th Dec.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 16/04/2014 21:25

I think it's very odd for family not to be pleased about a new baby. I have 4 siblings, dh has 8, mum had 3, dad has 5, grandad had 4, nan had 11, MIL has 4... big families are the norm in my family so a new baby is always a celebration.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 16/04/2014 21:34

Some lovely baby names on the stats sheet. I already have a boys name, which I think goes well with ds's name and DH and MIL have already said they love it so it's a definite, however I am still a little unsure about it. I was the same all the way through with ds though so I'm sure I'll get over it. Once ds was born he could never have had a different name.

I have two girls names to choose from, one can be a shortened version of the other name but also is a name on it's own. I would love to use the longer name but I'm scared of it being pretentious (which is the reservation I have about the boys name too tbh).

If I say what they are can you be gentle? too much of a wimp to go over to the baby names board

Vicky5910 · 16/04/2014 21:45

Sorry your family weren't more supportive Brian, if your mum ever said 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all' to you as a child itight be time to repeat it back to her! Big families are great, I'm one of 8
:)

Vicky5910 · 16/04/2014 21:48

Polythene I hate all smells right now, DH changing the bin on the other side of the room made me throw up, and the new air freshener plug in he bought smelt too strong before he even opened it. Yuck!
