So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

I'm so lost in this thread so many comments and they are bibles long lol!!

But i'm joining :) doc says i'm 6 weeks 2 days based on a average cycle i reckon i'm 4 weeks 4 days as my cycles are around 40-42 days averaging out.... Which brings my due date to around the 20th december! I suppose i'll have a better and clearer date at my scan in 6 weeks! Can't wait! Just hope its good news this time round Smile

espa · 16/04/2014 07:28

Hi girls. Think I can officially join now! Another faint positive on an IC this morning and a stronger positive on Superdrug test. Will test again in a couple of days, not sure hubby believes the tests!

Due date per NHS calculator is 24th Dec! Could have a real Christmas baby!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/04/2014 08:43

Congratulations espa, baby and pickles :)

ffallada · 16/04/2014 08:48

Does anyone else here read the daily mail? I don't usually finding it an obnoxious rag BUT today I thought I'd try a different routine this morning: I read some advice that said if you eat something simple and stay lying down for twenty mins it helps with the nausea. While browsing online I found an article in the daily fail which mentioned that even being a little overweight - any BMI over 25 could have fatal c

*consequences for a newborn.
cue panic
I have BMI of 26 and was on a diet before finding out I am pregnant. I am now still watching what I eat and am still losing weight (although more slowly than before).
Is anyone here also watching their weight?

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 09:02

ffallada don't listen to them. They don't know what they are talking about. A BMI of 21 doesn't stop fatal consequences. Speaking from experience. Keep eating healthy, you're doing great.

PolytheneGirl · 16/04/2014 09:13

Ffallada I think that is very misleading. I'm sure if you are very overweight there would be added risks but it sounds like you are probably only carrying a few extra pounds and if you are eating healthily you are doing the best possible thing for your little one. Well done.

I, on the other had cannot face food. I'm getting a bit worried. Yesterday I only managed a piece of toast and a bag of crisps (no nutritional value what so ever). Going to try to stick to fruit today and make some homemade soup. It's no wonder I've got no energy!

mopsytop · 16/04/2014 09:25

Ffallada I would on no account take ANYTHING written in the Daily Fail seriously. I have a BMI of 27 and also did for my first child and everything was absolutely fine. No midwife/doctor ever even mentioned my being slightly overweight as an issue. Like you I'd started a diet before getting pregnant and am trying to continue with exercise/eating healthily (eating so much more fruit and veg!) and that's all you can do. Please don't be worrying about it and avoid the Daily Mail like the plague!

PresidentSpreadable · 16/04/2014 09:27

ffalada, the only thing I have to add is that it is the DAILY FAIL. It is a newspaper that hates women.

I have a massive BMI, so by their reckoning my baby is already dead in the water and, even if it survives, it will be cursed to a life of diabetes and fatness. Despite having two parents who, whilst not exactly sylph-like, cycle around 200 miles a week between them, run marathons, swim several kms a week, and eat plenty of fruit, veg and lean protein!

Seriously, stop reading that paper!

PresidentSpreadable · 16/04/2014 09:27

Ha. Snap mopsy!

rockstars12 · 16/04/2014 09:34

You can be normal size and have complications and be overweight and fine. It all depends on each person and every pregnancy is different.
I know someone who has had 2 perfectly normal pregnancies with healthy babies who was quite obese. The babies were normal size.
Saw on tv last night a very slim woman who had a baby over 11lbs for her first!!!
As everyone says eat as healthily as you can but if you honestly can only face some junk, then that is better than nothing and try to ate up for it when you're feeling better.
I'm struggling to find healthy food appealing this week. Last week I was great, but I'm not gonna be too hard on myself, we have enough to worry about. You just do the best you can.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/04/2014 11:13

Quiet on here this morning! Where is everyone? :)

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 11:30

I felt a bit more positive yesterday after good blood test result, and then I had a horrible dream and i'm back to square one. Confused
What are your Easter plans?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/04/2014 11:33

Oh no paranoid what's wrong?
The plan is to enjoy my 5 days off and looking forward to my first mw appt on Tuesday!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 11:48

Nothing wrong so far, I'm just anxious to get to the 12 weeksSmile
Good plan. We're off to Germany, not too keen on going to be honest, but hopefully it will distract me for a few days.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/04/2014 13:04

Can relate paranoid I want to get to 12 weeks know everything all good and healthy and then be able to tell everyone! I feel like a fraud telling lies about everything and I'm trying to get out of seeing people so will we glad when that's over and I actually believe that I'm pregnant! Lol

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 16/04/2014 13:05

Have you been to see if the mw paranoid? As you said bloods were fine?
Hope you have a nice relaxing break in Germany :)

espa · 16/04/2014 13:43

What's everyone else's symptoms so far? I've got no obvious ones other than being quite crampy, which is frustrating as don't want to complain too much at work!

espa · 16/04/2014 13:53

Also when did/are you going to see midwife? I'm only 4+1 so wondering if next week is too early?

mopsytop · 16/04/2014 13:53

espa, massive boobs (which i really don't like - I liked my old ones!), dizziness in first few weeks (mostly passed now), horrible migraines, random waves of nausea (but haven't been actually sick) and heightened sense of smell. Oh and I love milk (normally like it on cereal/in coffee but would never drink a glass, now am gulping it down!) and can only drink about 1/3 of my morning coffee. I like it at first, then suddenly go off it.

mopsytop · 16/04/2014 13:54

Oh and cramps too. Not fun. V anxious making.

Made appt for midwife for 2 weeks time when I'll be 8+3

PunkyPod · 16/04/2014 14:11

My mw booking in appointment has been made for me at approx 10 weeks.

Urgh, just chucked some paracetemol down my neck coz I have a coldy headache. Bit rubbish. Got a dress on today which is so clearly showing the bloat belly. Bit vommy and strong sense of smell.

Feel a bit sorry for myself, bring on the easter break. I need a rest.

mopsytop · 16/04/2014 14:21

I'm the same punky - I have a right little pouchy tummy and only 6 weeks.

Kittykatmacbill · 16/04/2014 14:28

Hello,

May join too? I found out yesterday I am pregnant due on December 20th, its a bit of a lovely surprise as dd (11 mths), took 25 cycles to conceive. Where as this little thing appears to have appeared in 3... So surprised eeks all round.

As far as symptoms go nothing exciting yet, just cramping and thirsty, and feel weirdly zen - Which as this is my last month of mat leave is a bit strange Easter Hmm - if my last pregnancy is anything to go though, I'll have a lot! Last one I had mega megaboobs and went from 32f to a 38j (so basically a lacy tent) and am sadly now at a 34dd, do not even seem to have losted the last lot of pregnancy podge yet...

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 16/04/2014 14:36

I had a blood test at hospital to check hormone levels but that's not normal procedure and got appointment with GP tomorrow. Haven't seen any MW or told anyone yet, still too early 5+6. No symptoms. Have been wearing lose fitting clothes to hide what's there and anything to come.
