So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Bummer sasseh Sad

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 18:09

A warm hot water bottle is ok to use isn't it? I've got cramps and backache and don't want to take anything.

I'm questioning everything I do at the moment. I could do with someone to just tell me what to do! I'm too tired to think for myself!!

Penguin13 · 14/04/2014 18:49

Cooper I'm so sorry your GP was insensitive and dismissive. I am a bit Shock at the way they spoke to you. It's good news that you have had some positive hpt's I hope the blood test is more reassuring.

I had a very early scan today at 6+3 following an mc in my previous pregnancy. I was convinced that I had had another mc following a sharp loss of symptoms at 5 weeks but am very, very happy to report that the embryo was exactly where it should be and measuring just over 6 weeks. We even got to see a tiny flickering heartbeat which was amazing. I know that it's such early days and there is still a 10% chance something could go wrong but I am so relieved that for now everything is okay. So for those who are panicking over loss of symptoms - it doesn't always mean something bad Smile

BabyTinks · 14/04/2014 20:21

First of all congratulations girlies!

Yesterday found out we are expecting again, we had a 11 week mc in november :( we havent really been ttc much but got a bfp last night!
I have the doctors tomorrow so hoping they can help and reassure me....
I read a few posts below of early scans, im hoping my doctor gets me booked in early to give me a greater peace of mind with this pregnancy as i am soooo worried!!

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 20:35

Welcome and congratulations BabyTinks

I hope all goes well with the GP tomorrow and they get you booked in for that early scan.

Someone clever than me may get you on our stats page if you ask nicely Smile

BabyTinks · 14/04/2014 20:40

Well in that case i am asking ever so nicely to be on the stats page Smile hehe!

Although i am struggling with how far on i am..... With the days we dtd and find it ever so strange that the day i'm thinking we conceived i was on cd28!! Is it poss to ov that late?

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 20:45

From the ttc thread I was on I'd say anything is possible. Usual at this early stage for your due date you just count 40 weeks from the first day of your last period then they give you a more accurate date when you have a scan.

Ladylel · 14/04/2014 20:46

Anyone have any cravings yet? I'm just having urges for cheese!

Anyone have any cravings yet? I'm just having urges for cheese!

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 20:55

I had a craving for a Peperami earlier, I did have a pork craving in my 1st pregnancy early on, followed my meringues in the 3rd tm.

BabyTinks · 14/04/2014 20:56

No cravings and no symptoms for me yet!!

Calculated i'd be due around 8th - 18th

I just had horrid stomach cramps and a stitch like feeling ouch!!

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 21:00

My EDD is 18/12! I'm finding it really hard to keep my pg a secret. I normally tell my DM everything and I'm dying to tell DS, he's been asking for a baby sister for so long let's hope it's a girl or he might be disappointed

Vicky5910 · 14/04/2014 21:06

Urgh cheese is my vomit-inducing food ladylel but I can't get enough oranges and was thinking about steak all day, so hubby got me one on the way home for tea :) funny how we crave different foods, it's based on what we are lacking usually, for me it's clearly iron and vitamin C! Cheese might be protein and salt?

BabyTinks · 14/04/2014 21:07

On the chat of not telling anyone.... My dp is the only one i dont want to tell my family yet until we have our scan and know everythings ok as last scan showed no heart beat and dont want to got through it all again and have them go through the heart ache again too....

Anywayssss we have a cat, and i change the litter cause dp cannot stand it, plus he is working away tomorrow for 2 weeks straight so i have no1 there to change the litter, does anyone else have a cat and is it ok??

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 21:18

You're right Vicky I think last time it was the pork fat I needed as I was pretty underweight. I'm a healthy weight now so hopefully the Peperami thing was a one off. early days

Tinks I'd just stick the rubber gloves on and try not to vom!

mopsytop · 14/04/2014 21:21

Baby if you're going to change it make very sure you have gloves on and wash your hands very carefully afterwards. I think if you're handling your cat you should also be very careful about washing your hands. And the advice is to change the litter tray every day and clean it every day too ... maybe you can get your husband to do it when he is there?

mopsytop · 14/04/2014 21:22

(you're going to have to put up with all the pregnancy symptoms so maybe just tell him to get on with it!)

BabyTinks · 14/04/2014 21:35

Yeah your right! Well he is in bed as hes getting picked up at 4:30am so no chance of him doing it. Iv had my cat 13 years i have read some sites say my body is probably immune to it so it can fight it off easily. who knows will see tomorrow at the doctor she might have more info for me!

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 21:45

I have to say I had no idea about the changing and cleaning/sterilising everyday! I'll have to have a word with DH! How did I not know this when I was pg with DS? Confused

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 21:50

Also on the cat topic. Have you been brought any "presents"? Someone was saying the other day on another thread about cats being able to smell HCG and bring presents to pregnant women.

I got my BFP on wed night and over the weekend I've had a field mouse and a little bird brought in by my boy cat. He is not normally a hunter at all!

mrsmitchel · 14/04/2014 22:33

Hi, new to this! Can I join you? just got a early positive 4w 1d and can't tell anyone! So chuffed, want to shout about it! X

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 14/04/2014 22:40

We have a cat, we had a cat when I had ds too. Dh is on cat litter duty, as he was last time. He absolutely hates it but that's just how it is. He isn't cleaning the litter tray more often than we normally would though, don't see what difference that would make really.

I really think if any of your dp's won't change cat litter because they "can't stand it" will have a bit of a shock when it comes to changing a nappy!

Washing your hands after stroking the cat is a bit extreme imo. Do some research on toxoplasmosis and be sensible about it but if you already have a cat, you've probably been exposed to it already.

Polythene My cat brought me a half dead butterfly this morning. Hmm We've only had her a month and this is the first time she has caught anything but a butterfly (although sad) is better than a mouse or bird!

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 22:56

Pourquoi that is my girl cats usual trick. She spends summer nights out hunting moths and bringing them in. She then cries until you look at it and praise her, then she eats it! Our boy cat is usually a bit useless at these kinds of things! Have you just had a new kitten? How lovely! jealous

DessertFox · 14/04/2014 22:57

Evening all

Back on here after a weekend of horrendous tummy bug, which i was convinced was morning sickness as it started the morning after BFP. Truly thought i was in for 8 weeks of it. So relieved (and v sympathetic, of course...) when my DH got it too and i realised it was just a virus!!

went to the GP today at 4.3 to kick things off, thought it would all be routine, refer to midwife for booking appt etc etc but i've been asked to come back for urine/bloods as my BP was high (lower number 110, pretty sure that's bad) Now panicking a bit. which i am sure is not assisting that BP. Gah. Hope it has calmed down by thurs

hope you are all having more relaxing evenings (or are infact in bed where i should be too!) X

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 22:58

Oh and both presents were still alive!!
