So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

hey pals, glad to know am not alone.just tested positive due Dec 15

SassehMonsta · 14/04/2014 07:03

Welcome dgift :)

I was looking for a new job in the last 6 months and had a few interviews but nothing really good, but Friday I got a phonecall offering me another interview for a company I would love to go back to working for (spend 14 months there on placement for uni!). I've scheduled the interview anyway and I shall go along, but will still only be 6+4 then. I'd much rather go for the interview and have to turn them down than not go, have things go wrong, and be left gutted. Fingers crossed!

Has anyone else started thinking about contingency plans for things you already have planned in the next few months? I have a couple of festivals over the summer that I work/volunteer at (lugging equipment, putting up stages, marquees etc), a wedding to go to in June and a concert in Nov (eeks)! I've let both fesitvals know I may not be available after all this year but I've yet to confirm this with them. Contemplating what to wear to the wedding (its medieval themed!) as my original plan probably wont fit by then. Plus, this concert in November, if all goes to plan I'll be 8+ months by then, do I really want to go to a Lindsey Stirling gig??! Yes is the answer but its probably not the best plan I have had. Gutted as I had only bought the tickets this month for me, DH, BIL and MIL!

Obviously this is all if everything goes to plan. Eeeks. Anyone else having to consider this sort of thing?

Hello ladies, I've just had a positive test this morning, the day my period was due. I know this seems a bit mad but I just 'had a feeling' I was, also keep falling asleep at 8pm which is very early for me. This will be my third, keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. I actually make my due date 25th December (!) Punky I too had earlier MC before this so I too am tentatively watching this space...

Martie1 · 14/04/2014 07:17

Hi all just wondering what book on pregnancy you'd recommend? boba suggested one called 'first time parent' I think but is it for pregnancy? Thanks and happy Monday to all.

Ladylel · 14/04/2014 08:05

franklin14 we feel exactly the same. Almost like it's an out of body experience! Waiting for mw appts and scan for it to kick in ;)

Bettycakes80 · 14/04/2014 08:14

Hey Sasseh, my parents have booked a big family holiday to Florida for next February and are on at us to book flights! So far I've just been stalling them as we don't want to tell them till we reach 12 weeks. Also have Kate Bush tickets, but not even a big bump will make me miss that!

SassehMonsta · 14/04/2014 08:49

Eeekks betty! Also reminded me that I now no longer have tp worry about getting my parents something special for their 50ths this year, as baby is due between their birthdays. Result! Also around same time as FIL, BIL and sisters birthdays, and our scan coincides with MILs birthday. Totally cheating ;-)

And PTGTV that made me laugh out loud about lions!

Wanting savoury food, so today is all about the vegan lasagne from last night.

Vicky5910 · 14/04/2014 09:21

Morning sickness has progressed to actual vomiting now. Great! I'm 6+6. It better not stick around, I can't cope with my job with the tiredness, add in vomit and I will most likely shut down!
PTGTV I agree, this can't be evolutionary, evolution is supposed to make things better!

Missjasper · 14/04/2014 09:47

Hi sasseh and betty I know we aren't very good at timing are we! My fiancé and I are getting married in July in st Lucia! All being well I'll be four months+ by then so the two weeks full of Suba diving pony trekking and quad bike riding won't be going quite as planned!!
And sasseh does that mean if we can all hold our babies in till Xmas then we don't need to buy any pressies?? I like your thinking!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 14/04/2014 12:28

Thank you to everyone that recommend things to help with the nausea. I had rich tea biscuits first thing when I got up, porridge when I got to work, and have snacked on grapes, mint humbugs, hard candies, fruit and oatcakes! Sickness and hunger is at bay so far but I'm going to become the size of a house!! Lol oh well!! 6+4 today 1week and 1 day till my first midwife appt :)

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 12:40

Hi. Can I just ask a perhaps stupid
question, when did you all let your GP know you were pregnant? I'm only 4+4 but I was thinking of checking in with the GP at about 6 weeks. I don't want to tempt fate. Is this reasonable?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 14/04/2014 12:44

Poly I let them know as soon as I knew. Might as well get ball rolling was my thoughts. I just had to fill a form in at the docs and wait for midwife to call me a week later with my first appt which is on Tuesday 22nd :)

ffallada · 14/04/2014 12:51

Hi Emily, when you go to the midwife next week could you post up what she asked you - either here or in the December first time antenatal bus? Where I am you don't get a midwife appointment until the 12 week scan so I would be interested to know what to expect (all the GP said was the 12 week scan takes 2-3 hours).

PunkyPod · 14/04/2014 12:52

I waited til 5+4 just because my mcs in the past have been just after 5 weeks. But as soon as you know is fine Smile

PunkyPod · 14/04/2014 12:59

Poly you're going to answer a lot of questions, have urine sample and blood resorts done. Be given your bounty pack and AN notes. The questions relate to medication you are on, mental health and family medical history. It's useful to have a chat with your DH as far back as his grandparents to find out if there are any diseases etc.

Minion · 14/04/2014 12:59

Today I am having another freak out day. Terrible trapped wind which feels life af cramps.
Messing with my melon man.
Right girls, let's talk breasts. Does anyone else's just ache at night? They're fine in the day, almost like I wasn't pg but come night.. Ouch indeed!
First Gp appointment for me tomorrow and I'll only be 4+6, thought I'd better get going and unload my crazy on him instead...

SassehMonsta · 14/04/2014 13:21

Urgh, Boobs! No, mine just started aching today, feel almost bruised on the inside/cleavage part. Leaning forwards makes it so much worse! My nausea seems to have abated but still waking up at stupid o'clock with a dodgy stomach/soft stools, but not as bad. did an IC yesterday and it came up instantly and bold - phew!

mopsytop · 14/04/2014 13:44

Martie I found the mumsnet pregnancy book brilliant. The best one I read.

Sasseh, if you got the job would you not take it? you would still have ages until baby due... enough to cover you for mat leave I should think?

Fell off the thread for a few days... needed to change all my passwords cod of Heart bleed. Took me over two hours Sad

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 13:54

I did something stupid. I had about 10 pregnancy books and about 3 months ago I lent them to my SIL and now I can't ask for them back because we don't want anyone to know until 12 weeks, which at the moment feels like a lifetime away!

mopsytop · 14/04/2014 14:03

I can't find my pregnancy book now but I want to read it again. Just to remind myself of the fun times ahead over the next 7.5 months ... !

cooperbug · 14/04/2014 14:09

Hi, I am driving myself crazy with this so must ask for some advice!

Been to the gp today who dipped my urine and said it is negative for pregnancy! Basically she dipped it in my sample for approx 10 seconds then looked at it for about 45 secs before throwing it away.

I asked for the blood test which I had and now just waiting on the result coming back later on today.

I said to the gp that I thought it took about 3mins for the test to show but she said if positive should come up instantly.

Bear in mind from my lmp I would be about 4wks today (I know it's still early) and have done three positive home pregnancy tests myself.

Only went to the docs to have it confirmed and for reassurance that I have no symptoms. Now feel totally stressed waiting to find out!

regularbutpanickingabit · 14/04/2014 14:41

Um, please can I join you?

I had a very surprise positive on saturday and am 5 weeks today, due dec 15. 3rd baby, others much older, years of fertility issues and multiple m/c (6) but nothing at all for about 7 years. Feel so shocked! We always always wanted more children but I can't quite believe it might happen.

Started taking all the drugs I need, went to GP, she is a bit worried about very high blood pressure today that I don't usually have. Back tomorow for another check.

I can't get too excited because the next 3 months is when i usually miscarry but those test results were the strongest I have ever had andthat is something to celebrate in itself!

SassehMonsta · 14/04/2014 15:05

mopstop No, by the time I would start the job I would fall just outside of the maternity qualifying period. :(

That's frustrating cooper, hopefully the bloods come back positive and prove her wrong!! Doctors annoy me this week ;)

and welcome reg :)

chillychicken · 14/04/2014 15:38

Midwife has just called Grin I've given my preference of hospital (talk about put someone on the spot!) and I have an appointment on 28th. I'll be 7+4. Midwife has given me her mobile number and she was absolutely lovely.

Symptoms have all vanished today so will poas again tonight but I'm beginning to feel a bit more positive about it now. I think we might go for an early scan, especially if we decide to tell my DSIL early, but it's something I'm going to talk to about with the midwife.

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 16:20

Hi chilly. How are you? Has your friend figured out who you are yet? Lol. Glad your symptoms have settled down. I wish mine would but I know I'll panic when they do!

I think I'm going to try to book in with the GP for the end of next week if I can get an appointment!
