So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Emilypinkorblue don't be sorry to share your feelings! that's what this forum is for. I think it would be good if you could tell someone. I have! I know how we shouldn't but I confided in my cousin, my work friend, my other friend who just had a baby... If all goes wrong, I'll explain but I had to get support. I need that now and it helps a lot to talk to someone you love and for them just to say its fine to cry, it's fine to be hungry and it's fine to be stressed. Take care and distract yourself with a funny movie,
I've been watching Big Bang a lot to take my mind off it- otherwise I'm constantly thinking , why have my boobs not changed? Why am I not feeling nauseous? Why do I have very few symptoms or almost none?
Lots of love

mopsytop · 10/04/2014 13:43

I don't see why you shouldn't tell someone if you want to. I think if you'd be ok to tell some you miscarried then why not tell them you're pregnant.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 13:47

Thank you shanels :)
My oh, mum and a good friend knows but friends that I speak to daily don't. Mainly because one close friend on two occasions has said how she can't understand why person x and y both told her they were pregnant and only x amount of weeks ie before the 12 week scan. But we are technically family and quite close so I don't know if it would be different but I don't want her thinking that about me?
I guess I also haven't got my head round that I am REALLY pregnant until I see the scan and see a baby it doesn't feel real and I might be sharing news that isn't true! I'm too scared to do another pregnancy test as I don't want it to say negative. I know people have chemical pregnancies but if I don't get a period then it's all still ok right?

PresidentSpreadable · 10/04/2014 13:49

I've told a grand total of three people this time, my partner, a colleague who I trust, and my best friend.

Last time, despite being so sure that I'd wait until my first scan, I somehow managed to tell a grand total of 17 people because I was so excited. Mind you, I then had to un-tell them when it went tits up at 9 weeks.

I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with three, but you'll go loopy if you don't confide in someone!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 10/04/2014 13:58

Ahhh, sasseh it's lovely to hear you've shared your news with your sister, exciting little secret. Grin

emily I totally get you. I haven't told anyone and feel guilty for lying/not answering/changing subject when my mum asks when my next treatment starts. Silly really, cos I would probably tell her if I mc again. And poor OH is having a hard time in the gym with friends asking why I've disappeared all of a sudden. I found myself a bit isolated, with close friends and family living abroad.

It's ok to cry, it's a bit weird but we do get a lot more emotional with the hormonal change. Hope you feel better soon.

mopsytop · 10/04/2014 14:00

Emily I know how you feel and it is massively anxious and stressful time. I also don't really feel that comfortable telling anyone much. I've only told one of my sisters (who is currently 7 weeks pregnant) and a friend who is 10 weeks and told me so I told her!! I feel like it isn't real until I have the scan too. It is hard not to be anxious but try and not worry. No period so no reason to think it is not sticking. Just come on here and talk if you feel worried. I felt exactly like this last time (and everything was fine) ... I think pregnancy and anxiety go together!

mopsytop · 10/04/2014 14:01

(I didn't tell too many cos not sure who I'd feel like talking about it to if I did miscarry. But I still think if you need support maybe good to tell someone so you can chat to them about it)

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 15:05

Thanks ladies
Does anyone else work full time and feel like sh*t?! I'm really not sure how I am going to cope another 7 months and it's not like it's going to get better!
Extreme hunger, extreme tiredness, foul mood!! Lol

PunkyPod · 10/04/2014 15:53

Things should improve once you get into double figures Emily. The start is pretty rough but the second tri usually feels pretty good :) I'm working full time too, yesterday I wanted to vom all day Hmm

ImBrian · 10/04/2014 15:55

I work full time but I'm on two weeks holiday. I seem to be developing all day nausea though so going back is going to be fun!

Hi lovely blooming ladies! Hope everyone is doing well :-)
Is anyone else suffering from major bloating??? I currently look like I'm 3 months and I'm only 4+5 weeks! Mornings aren't too bad but it just gets bigger during the day and by nighttime I'm huge!!
And tired! So so tired! It's ridiculous! And yet I'm still checking every 5mins that I haven't come on, still can't quite believe it! Anyone else feeling the same?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 16:53

Hi jasper I felt v bloated week 4 and 5 but at week 6 seems to have stabilised! I can agree on the tiredness! It hits me about 3 and i turn to mush! I commute via train and walking to and fro in London feels so stressful and rushed and all I want to do is go slow and take my time!

PresidentSpreadable · 10/04/2014 16:53

Hi Missjasper, yep, start the day relatively unbloated, look about 6 months gone by the end of the day. Also knackered, plus mild nausea and heartburn. I'm 5+3.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 16:54

Punky and Brian I think I experienced my first ms today all day though I must add and gets worse if I don't eat and get hungry! Really don't want ms!!

PresidentSpreadable · 10/04/2014 16:57

I feel your pain Emily. My partner asked me if I was going to cycle to work this morning as the weather was so lovely. Um, nope! If I managed the ride there, there is no way I'd manage the one back home again, it's an 18 mile round trip.

Can't believe the drop in my energy levels from a few weeks ago, it's awful! Really hating the tube though and hope that if I make it to my 2nd trimester my energy picks up and I can get back on my bike.

SassehMonsta · 10/04/2014 18:04

Booked it to have 7 week scan on the 25th, same day as my lovely friend, will see her in the waiting room as we're booked in so close together! Sadly she's just taken herself off to A & E with pain, but hoping it's precautionary. Her midwife has put other due 28th November but she reckons it's more like first week of Dec due to ovulation cycles. I've got everything crossed for her!!

PolytheneGirl · 10/04/2014 19:18

Hi Ladies, can I join you? I got 3 BFPs yesterday after 4 months ttc #2. We are both thrilled if a little nervous! Af was only due today so I'm on constant crotch watch and even had to make a mad dash for the loo whilst out shopping today, just to check!

We've decided not to tell anyone until after the 12wk scan. I had a very complicated pregnancy with DS and just want to make sure everything is ok this time and be armed with a bit more information.

So far DH is being very attentive, I'm making the most of it as I am feeling very tired and just enjoying out little secret.

I've been trying to read back through this thread but you all talk too much! I'm glad I've found such a nice bunch to grow fat with though! If someone updates the list please could you add me, I don't seem to be able to copy and paste on my ipad.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 19:39

Congratulations poly!! Great to have another join us!

President I'm not surprised you didn't fancy cycling!! 18 miles!! Phew that's a weekend leisurely ride if anything!! Lol

I too just can't get over the symptoms! So early on! I feel so silly like I shouldn't be having any as it's so early but then I think well I am growing something inside me as well as all normal bodily functions so in theory my body is doing more than normal do I should be more tired?! I'm so up and down and round and round it's unbelievable!!

Just about to tuck into a yummy creme egg mmmm!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 10/04/2014 19:40

Sasseh bet you are crossing off the days till your early scan! How exciting!

ffallada · 10/04/2014 20:05

Hi poly congratulations - your the first person I've seen with a due date after mine (17th Dec). Heres hoping for a mild xmas

Emily you made me laugh, I'm the same, up and down and round and round.

I have another daft question I was hoping someone here can answer - with respect to employment, is there any way an employer can find out when you first went to the doctor or see a midwife? I want to leave it till quite late and be underhand (as I KNOW it will not go down well and I will find myself out of a job quite quickly). I would like to say 'oops, I just found out which is why I didn't tell you at 12 weeks'. sneeky.

mopsytop · 10/04/2014 20:10

ffalada no they can't find out. And it would be against the law for them to do so. As it would be for them to sack you because you were pregnant. You are obliged to tell your employer a certain number of weeks before full term. I think it is 15 but someone may want to correct me on that?

mopsytop · 10/04/2014 20:12

You shouldn't even have to have a discussion about when you found out, so long as you inform them within the legal timeframe and they should not ask you.

PolytheneGirl · 10/04/2014 20:12

Hi Ffallada I don't think they can access anything about your medical records without you signing something. Besides by law you don't have to tell them until 15 wks before your baby is due to be entitled to you maternity benefits. Hope that helps!

vslug · 10/04/2014 20:47

Some lighthearted ness in relation to not telling... No one from work knows and I had an even tonight and my boss bought champagne. Nothing I could do without raising suspicion except nip to the loo and poor half a glass of expensive bubbles down the loo!! Devastating!! Anyone else finding sneaky ways to hide the fact that they're preggers?? On a more depressing note I had to cancel dinner with my best friends as o wanted to wait a couple of weeks to tell them and o knew they'd guess. So much sneaking around!

vslug · 10/04/2014 20:53

Also another quick thing from me... Off to the doctors tomorrow for a blood test to confirm the pregnancy... Anyone know how long you have to wait for the results to come back?? Appreciate it's probably different at every surgery.
