So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Bubba apparently if your body doesn't need the higher amount it does no harm and just gets rid of it. I worked it out as 10 little ones equals the higher dose.

Jo178 sorry to hear that, I had one in feb and they're crap x

Sorry to hear that Jo178. My thoughts are with you.

My dentist did an odd thing today - he was going to take out whats left of a silver filling (part of it has chipped off) and replace it with a white one. Before he started I mentioned that I was newly PG and while it might not come to anything could he confirm that the work was going to be ok for the Bean? He said no, he would not remove the silver filling now, he would just patch it, as the silver filling was bad for the bean. He said its a small risk but one he wouldn't take. Something to do with fumes.
Is this right? Hmm

BobaFetaCheese · 08/04/2014 17:01

Mrsftn, Jo, so sorry for your losses. I've been there and it's utter shit, hope the next few days are as physically pain free as possible. x

ffallada there's a risk of mercury fumes/ingestion and mercury is a pg no-no as it can cause braindamage/hearing defects (I think there's a risk of stillbirth but i'm not going to google)

First timers; I recommend this book! Amazing. There's also this book for the man in your life, helps explain pregnancy and everything to go with it.

mopsytop · 08/04/2014 17:05

I got that book Boba! (The first one) It is great!

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 08/04/2014 18:43

Jo i'm so sorry Sad look after yourself.

Waves and welcome to new joiners.

Still no symptoms here, 4+6, have one digi left, but fighting the urge to poas until cheap ic arrive. Was not supposed to test before Thursday anyway, according to hospital. Still they've booked me for a scan on 30 April. Another 3 long long long weeks to wait.

OH is away today and tomorrow so I had to do the bum injection myself, much easier than I thought.

Penguin13 · 08/04/2014 19:05

Jo I'm so sorry to hear that. A loss is hard to bear at any stage. Hope you have lots of support in RL. If and when you're ready to try again I recommend checking out the ttc after mc thread with posifrickentivity in the title. Those girls are awesome and very welcoming.

Vicky5910 · 08/04/2014 19:09

Welcome newbies!
I've had an eventful day! Had to dive in to soft play to save daughter today, feeling like I've been beaten up now. She would get stuck right at the top... Typical! Stupid softened muscles :(
I'm 6 weeks today! Haven't puked today, found energy for soft play and housework, a successful day really apart from the soft play incident. Lots of oversized children going mental for half term in there today... Temper felt a bit short...! Blaming hormones! I'll take grumpy over vomit though, any day!

Ladylel · 08/04/2014 19:41

Apparently I am due 1st December by doctors calculations but as they said by time I see the midwife I could be 'less pregnant' than I think I am and be more like early mid December... Exciting times!

Missjasper · 08/04/2014 21:05

Hi ladylel, that's fab news :-) yes massively exciting times ahead! I've been quite happy thinking I've got no symptoms at all, then have just sat here and snobbed my heart out over a film! I mean proper tears and snot and everything!! Not sure my fiancé knew what to do bless him! He just gave me a massive hug and paused the film until I had calmed down!

Mrswellyboot · 08/04/2014 21:06

Went to gp to confirm today 5+1 due 8th dec

Explained the dizzy spells and it is due to low blood pressure, so it's plenty of water for me.

Mrswellyboot · 08/04/2014 21:07

Sorry to here of your loss jo

Mrswellyboot · 08/04/2014 21:07

Hear

mopsytop · 08/04/2014 21:15

Oh MrsWelly, does water help w the dizzy? I'll drink even more if so...

Martie1 · 08/04/2014 21:34

jo178 so sorry to hear your news, it's what we all fear and can only imagine how you are feeling. Hugs.

imbrian I have those symptoms! I'm the last few days I have had an unsettled stomach, I don't feel queasy, my stomach is just not right. And then, tmi, when I head to the ladies, my stools are soft. Not the dreaded d, but definitely soft. My twinges have completely gone, haven't had sang since Saturday. I'm so fricking nervous. I've googled every thought that's come into my head today! Like that ever helps!! My lady lumps ate still sore though. That's never gone away. I might have also bought 2 clearblue digital tests so I can test a week apart to make sure my hcg levels are rising.

I'm off to see my go tomorrow. I'm a little excited about that but also have no idea what to expect. I've been told to bring a sample of my fmu. I will definitely be asking about the loose stools and the twinges disappearing.

Mrswellyboot · 08/04/2014 21:53

mop yes, GP advised plenty of water for low blood pressure and dizzy spells. I am not too bad today.

Have been eatting sporadically lately and forgetting meals so I did a big grocery shop this evening to increase meat and fruit and veg and make some soups and stews.

Shanels · 08/04/2014 21:56

Martie1 now I see why you repeat tests....I'm a bit slow sorry. So I did my test last Friday, I guess it would make sense to do my second one on Friday too. My stools are soft too but I guess hormonal changes can affect bowel movement. Good luck with GP tomorrow.
jo178 so sorry send g y big hugs
I'm sick with cold and asthma still so staying in bed tomorrow. I've been told no antihistamines but I'm so tempted- especially after sneezing 50 times back to back.
paranoidcoventgarden you have changed my perception of CG, every time I go there now I'll be thinking of you, this forum and this moment in my life. :)))))
I might call myself Phobiashanel as giving birth has been my fear all my life.

Ladylel · 08/04/2014 22:12

I've got text book everything right now. Cramping, nausea, tenderness, fatigue, headache, light headed, dizziness, thirsty and toilet trips, there's always some excitement waiting for the 'evidence ' of pregnancy to kick in but right now I'm struggling to get my act together and get to work for 9am as keep needing to lie down. Feel like I'm coming down with something but everyone handles it differently. Gotta bit of breathlessness going on but putting it down to ring asthmatic and slightly unfit! Currently wearing pressure bands to relieve sickness tho...

ImBrian · 08/04/2014 22:35

Bloody hormones, it's the fact I get stomach cramps like I've got a bug and I'm going to have the runs but then it's not! Had to leg it out of home base today as my stomach was going nuts! It seems to coincide with nausea so must be to do with that. Work is not going to be fun if this hasn't cleared off by the end of the holidays.

Urgh.......wanna hurl......

Martie1 · 09/04/2014 11:03

Hi all, back from my gp. Told her about the soft stools, she said that that was prob a good thing, since typically it's constipation and piles later in pregnancy! I told her about waning symptoms and she didn't provide a lot of reassurance just asked had I had any cramping or bleedings- which I haven't. I told her about the twinges and she said as long as they were on both sides and all over then that was fine. I explained my nervousness since we've been trying for year.

She told me not to buy prepared salads which I was unaware of and also cautioned me against packaged sandwiches. She also told me about not eating something from a local takeaway. It has mayonnaise in it and she thinks its not pasteurised. I had said meal from said takeaway on Monday! Can't find online the ingredients list! argh! hoping that its all ok, its a fast food restaurant, surely they used pasteurised mayonnaise rather than fresh, it's not that classy a joint! I had a total craving for it (prob not pregnancy related, just greediness related) on Monday after dh had one earlier. Total guilts now!! Ive eaten so well since we found out, raging at my moment of weakness!

imbrian im now wondering if my dodgy stomach and soft stools are just ibs and nerves. When nervous I run to the bathroom a lot. bloody body! no matter how much i mentally convince myself Im fine, it always lets me down. A dash from homebase cannot have been fun!

punkypod i wish i was hurling. that sounds so unsympathetic, but surely symptoms are good. My boobs barely hurt today and if it wasn't for the positive ic test id be going completely crazy. Of course i did a clearblue digital test this morning too, and it only will give a max of 3+ weeks. So much for my attempt to try and check if my hcg levels are rising. An expensive attempt!

Anyway so the gp told me about private care too. We definitely could afford it just don't know if it's necessary. We can get an early ultrasound for £60 with a private clinic. I am totally tempted to go for that. Any thoughts lovely ladies?

ffallada · 09/04/2014 11:03

THanks Boba I have just bought both books from amazon. I had bought 'what to expect when your expecting' but not really liked it.

Good luck to the ladies today who are having a difficult day with their symptoms.

rockstars12 · 09/04/2014 11:08

I had to call in sick today. Yesterday was day 3 of 5 day week and I worked from 9.30am to 11.00 pm with an hour break which is broken up. Had no time to get a nap during the day. When I woke up at 7.00am I felt like I was hungover. Dehydrated, headache, nausea and whole body ached. I couldn't move without gagging. DH brought me oat biscuits and water and told me to stay in bed. I felt ruined. After 2 hours more sleep I'm feeling better. Didn't think pregnancy could make me feel that bad in the morning without a raging hangover.

ImBrian · 09/04/2014 11:41

Marti that's a bargain price for a scan. Cheapest I can find round here is £90!

I'm not feeling as sick today, still there but just not quite as bad. Boobs aren't as sore either. I'm pretty sure it's normal for symptoms to come and go a bit though.

OP posts:
ffallada · 09/04/2014 11:51

martie I know quite a few of the ladies on here are going for early scans but I am not. While I cant wait for the official 'go' from the GP I am also hanging back remembering my mum's phrase (could be a Scottish one?) "whats for you wont go by you"

An early scan hopefully wont affect the outcome unless the scan has a problem - and I don't want to deal with that yet (yes, I am a coward). I want to enjoy the prospect.
