So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

So sorry Mrs.Ftn, sending you hugs.

Been having very few symptoms today. My lady lumps are still sore though and out of pure nervousness I've been doing ic tests every morning since about Friday (I might have done another this afternoon because of the lack of symptoms!) anyway all good, still two very clear lines on the ic tests each time I've done them. Clearly I have a heavy dose of the crazies!

SassehMonsta · 08/04/2014 08:14

So my plan to not poas went out the window - I just can't believe it's true still and have to keep checking to make sure!! Tested again this s morning but not fmu, & still positive. Up to 10+ now, I'm sure I should stop!

Sorry to hear that mrs.ftn , look after yourself.

I tried dropping big hints to my best friend, as we were talking about the 2ww, but I don't think she quite realised.....

PunkyPod · 08/04/2014 09:14

What kind of things were you saying to her Sasseh? Grin

So sorry for your news Mrsftn. So sad Thanks

vslug · 08/04/2014 09:15

Hi all! Can I join? I tested last Friday and have had BFPs everyday (sometimes twice a day) since then! Yesterday I did a clear blue and definitely 4 weeks. So due date 14 December (fingers crossed!) I've also booked the doctors for this Friday for a blood test. So not much to do now but wait right?! And obsess of maternity clothes, nursery furniture and cute ways to announce the pregnancy

SassehMonsta · 08/04/2014 09:47

punkypod she was saying shes coming to the end of her 2ww, and asking about me, I told her I couldn't tell her! and we basically spent the whole of our trip to hobbycraft and back talking babies and conception tips etc. Probably not obvious enough, but hey :)

and vslug congrats! I've got the same due date as you, but Dr's wont be blood test etc till Booking in with midwife on 12th May. Arrgh! I totally didn't go round Mamas and Papas yesterday when I have some time to kill....

Abouttime · 08/04/2014 10:51

Morning everyone.

Is anyone else concerned about stomach ache/period pain cramps? I'm 4+4 and they are now bad enough that I want to take paracetamol altho I won't. It feels exactly like af and I'm knicker checking every 10mins!!

Can't help but think all is not well.

mopsytop · 08/04/2014 11:04

I've had exactly the same Abouttime ... really bad cramps some days. So far so good though. Think is just everything stretching...

ffallada · 08/04/2014 11:18

Sorry to hear your news mrsftn

vslug · 08/04/2014 11:42

Hi Abouttime and mopsytop - 100% same here with the cramping. And really bad bloating that's waking me up at night Sad. A little bit of nausea in the morning. Reading the NHS website they claim there shouldn't be too many side effects... Think it could have been written by a man!

PunkyPod · 08/04/2014 11:53

Paracetemol is fine but don't take ibuprofen.

Pains are everything shifting and stretching, very normal around 4-6 weeks. Mine have gone now thankfully. As long as it's not intense pain or one sided or bleeding you should be totally fine.

Congrats vslug! Loving bfps coming twice a day :)

Hehe Sasseh can't believe your friend didn't twig?!?!

Weeing like a trooper here Wink

Missjasper · 08/04/2014 12:02

Hi everyone. Really new to this sort of thing, never posted on any site before so please be gentle with me! And not sure of all the abbreviations either, sorry!!
Found out on Saturday that we are expecting our first, bit shocked and nervous if I'm honest! We talked and planned but thought it would take ages to fall but dates wise it was the first try! Scared muchly!! Calculated due date is 13th December, so anyone mind if I join this group??

mopsytop · 08/04/2014 12:11

Welcome Missjasper! No need to he scared! It does all feel a bit overwhelming at first I remember that from last time. But you'll be fine!

Missjasper · 08/04/2014 12:30

Thankyou mopsytop! Glad I'm not the only one that is nervous 1st time round, I been watching the One Born Ever Minute for ages but had to record last nights as it was all a bit too scary! Think I shall subject the other half to watching it a bit later today when I've plucked up the courage! Just booked first midwives appointment so all feeling a bit real today!!

Bubba84 · 08/04/2014 12:34

Firstly... Mrsftn I'm so sorry Sad that the journey has ended for the time being. My thoughts are with you and hope you're ok.

Secondly... wow has this thread moved on! I can't keep up and I've only been away from the thread for about a week! I've really struggled the last week with ms and everything that goes with it. On the plus side - I've told my line manager (that only makes 3 of us that know now!) and she's been supported. And I've also got my booking in midwife appt in 2 weeks then my 12 week scan in 4 weeks tomorrow! Eeek!! It can't come quick enough!!! I've never tried to wish my life away so bad before! Hopefully MS will be going away by then too Confused

Anyone got early scans booked or are you holding out for the 12 week scan like me?? Also, is anyone taking the higher folic acid dose?

Bubba84 · 08/04/2014 12:36

missjasper8 welcome! You may want to join the other thread for first time mummies due in Dec too as there's only a few of us on there just now... when's your booking in midwife appointment?

Missjasper · 08/04/2014 12:50

Hi Bubba84!! Yeah I've been reading through that thread too, maybe we can help eachother a little bit! At least we are all in the same boat :-)
My midwife appointment is Friday 25th, it's a week earlier than they wanted as I've worked out I should be 7wks by then but my other half works away and is due to fly on the 26th and we wanted him there!

chillychicken · 08/04/2014 13:10

Mrsftn I'm so sorry Sad take care of yourself x

I'm also having cramping, although not as bad today (am 4+5). Extremely cold and quite tired though. I just want to go home!

bubba I have 7-8 weeks to wait for my scan! I've never wanted time to go so fast before! I think we're going to hold out for the 12 week scan. Haven't really discussed it with DH properly though.

I'm waiting for the midwife to call me to make a booking in appointment. It'll be in about 4 weeks time anyway. Do other people take their DPs to this? I was planning on going on my own. Confused

pregnology.com is a great website for dates, etc. You put in your due date and it tells you exactly how far along you are on each day. Grin

SassehMonsta · 08/04/2014 13:14

PunkyPod - I've just found out that we were both spending the day dropping hints to each other - she's due end of Nov! :D Couldn't be happier Grin Shes off for a private scan soon, I might find out where from and do the same!

Welcome missjasper - I also found out on Sat - Exciting times!!

I'm not taking the higher folic acid dose, as I haven't been advised either way.

PunkyPod · 08/04/2014 13:19

Hi missjasper! Congratulations. You sound exactly like me when I was expecting dd. We decided to start trying and see what happens and BINGO I was pregnant! Crazy but amazing.

Chilly my DH came to the scans but none of my other appointments. Although it's personal choice of course, but there's no real need for him to be there. So we'll do the same again this time.

Top button of my trousers is permanently undone. Yowza, this is happening quickly!

PunkyPod · 08/04/2014 13:20

That's so funny Sasseh! Bet she was wondering why you weren't twigging either!!!!! Lovely to be due at the same time Smile

ImBrian · 08/04/2014 13:58

Bubba I'm taking the higher dose of folic acid. 5 mg a day or 10 of the little ones as I can find 5s anywhere. My youngest has a couple of issues and one of those is that she has a cleft. It's more then likely to do with her other problems but it's also linked to how much folic acid is taken so the advice when we had her was to take a higher dose if we conceived again.

My cramps lasted up until fairly recently and I'm nearly 7 weeks. It's everything stretching and getting annoyed. If it's really painful give the doc a ring.

Speaking of cramp has anyone had the other kind? I'm talking about the oh god I'm going to poo myself right now ones!!!! I've never had this before but the last couple of days my stomach will cramp up like mad and I'll have to run to the loo. It's normally when I'm feeling queasy as well.

Hello to all the new comers [wave]

Missjasper · 08/04/2014 14:20

Hi everyone! Thankyou for making me feel so welcome! Reading through everything it's so sad that a few have dropped out, but for the rest of us fingers crossed they are stickers!!
I haven't really had any major issues yet but guessing maybe I'm too early stages yet?? I'm 4+3 I think. Did have back ache yesterday but had just finished a good old lifting session in the gym so that might have had something to do with it! Exercise wise I normally go to the gym and lift weight 4-5 times a week so thinking I'll keep that up but with lower weights and higher reps. I figure my body is so used to it, it would probably be more shocked if I stopped!! And I'm getting married in July so really want to keep at least my top half from looking too much like a balloon!
Hi punkypod! I'm guessing you were a bit shocked too then! Is good to know we weren't the only ones! Strangely enough the same happened to my brother and sister in law and she's due in August!
Hi sassehmonsta so Saturday was a good day for you too then hey!! Crazy isn't it! Congrats to everyone and tummy rubs for the cramps :-)

Bubba84 · 08/04/2014 14:33

ImBrian thanks for that, that's good to know about the folic acid. I have mild spina bifida (you wouldn't know to look at me) and my sister in law was told with her current pregnancy to take higher dose of folic acid because of my history. So although no one has advised me I thought I probably will need to. I spoke to the pharmacist and they were useless basically referred me to GP. So I've got an appointment on Monday as want to get the right advice now as my bubba's in the early stages.

chilly that's a good website, thanks for the link! The photos are quite clear it's a little freaky to think that's what's happening in my body lol!
Also, I'm getting DH to come with me to all my appointments as I think it's good to get him involved. It's our first and he may not be needed for anything but I think it's good for him as it will feel more realistic for him too. Seeing as he doesn't have the ms or any other symptoms!! Wink

Jo178 · 08/04/2014 15:07

Just popping on quickly to say that I think I'm out. Hmm Hpts are fading and today I've had some very faint spotting so looks like a chemical. Good luck to you all for your lovely Christmas babies!

Bubba84 · 08/04/2014 15:14
