December 2014, anyone else yet?

So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Mopsy I'm jealous of your swim as well! Just had my youngest 3 to the pool for an hour and it was hell. My toddler screamed in my ear and refused to let loose her vice like grip while the other two attempted to drown us both. I hate school holidays haha.

speaking of exercise ImBrian and Mopsy, I'm wondering if anyone else does exercise classes?
I'm in training for a 15 mile trail race at the end of the month. Along with running three times a week I attend Body Pump and Body Balance (the Les Mills classes) twice each week.

I've spent a lot of time googling and the general jist of the advice for classes appears to be to tell the instructor before the class starts. But I am not sure if that's advisable before 12 weeks? Its still really early days to be telling anyone surely?

(on a slightly excited note I have decided to tell DH tonight when he gets back from work. I've stuck a CB test in a hot cross bun and hidden it in the oven - its a bun in the oven! Grin)

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 07/04/2014 16:47

ffallada I can't believe you haven't told your DH yet!
The question of exercise has always been a dilemma for me too. There are mixed messages out there. I'm used to 6 (intense) classes a week but with ICSI I'm just about allowed to breathe. It drives me nuts but I am following their advices, don't want to take any risks and blame myself if anything goes wrong again.

SassehMonsta · 07/04/2014 16:53

Luckily with exercise I've only being doing one high ish impact class a week - Egyptian belly dance! - but I know from past experience that our lovely teacher (the MIL) wouldn't recommend it before 10-12 weeks and that after 12 she has a gentle alternative to some moves. One lady this year was dancing right up to the week of her due date, including a performance a couple of weeks before!

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 17:09

ffalada I'd defs tell your instructor. if you're used to it I think it is ok to continue but just be v aware and don't overheat too much etc. but there is advice on cutting back the high impact stuff so I would check. If you're used to running several times a week I am pretty sure it is fine to continue... but again being aware, not overheating, not pushing it if you're tired etc.

nickyjlees · 07/04/2014 17:22

chillychicken I've been doing the whole following every sentence with "if everything is ok" thing too. I'm still to scared to let myself get excited. :s

Mrswellyboot · 07/04/2014 17:25

Is anyone else feeling faint? I had this in last pregnancy but it is worse this time. I have low blood pressure normally

Due back to work in a few days from ML, so hope this wears off

ffallada · 07/04/2014 17:48

WOW SassehMonsta Egyptian belly dancing sounds amazing.

I've taken your advice mopsytop - Since I found that I was pg I've taken my foot off the accelerator entirely, still covering the distance but not going for speed. I've also started carrying water which makes me look a little odd as its not the 'done thing' in our group.

ParanoidCoventGarden75 (Love your name) I ran a marathon last year and have a feeling that if I stopped exercising now my body might go into shock and that would cause more problems to the baby bean that it would solve. I signed up with a GP today so I can talk to someone professional, but it will take a few days to get the paperwork sorted before I can have an appointment. Im not convinced the GP will know more that google!
That being said Mrswellyboot have you considered a wee trip to your GP?

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 18:01

Mrswelly I've been really dizzy. I wasn't with last pregnancy so is weird. Been bit nervous to drive but haven't actually conked out properly just feels like I am going to...

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 07/04/2014 18:10

Ooops, just realised the link went wrong, here it is again DecStats

mythical · 07/04/2014 18:14

Between working full time and 2yr old dd I've been seriously slacking with this tread but to be fair I forget I'm pregnant sometimes! I can't wait for the weekend, I'll sit down and have a read properly x

MrsFtn · 07/04/2014 19:29

Hi everyone. Could somebody please remove me from the DecStats sheet. Scan didn't go well today - no hb and no fetal pole seen although sac was 6-7 weeks which is right for my calculations Sad

Wishing you all very healthy pregnancies and I hope I am the last one to drop out of this thread - although I hope you don't mind if I lurk here every now and then just to check in on how you're all doing.

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 07/04/2014 19:36

oh no, mrsFtn, i am so sorry to hear your news. Thanks look after yourself. Big hug

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 19:37

Really sorry to hear that Mrsftn Sad

Chipandspuds · 07/04/2014 19:44

Sorry to hear your news MrsFtn Flowers

ffallada I was doing body pump classes but stopped those, I'm just doing pilates and legs bums and tums now. I've mentioned to my instructors as although it's early days I think it's best to let them know in case you got dizzy or something. They both said once you get to 12 weeks there are certain types of exercise that you shouldn't do, so they're going to give me different things to do when we get to that stage.

Mopsy hope you're okay, no suggestions other than to try to eat something before driving and have the window open for some air to try and avoid dizziness. If you need to pull over, just do it!

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 19:45

Chip half of it is M1 which is what freaks me out Sad

Chipandspuds · 07/04/2014 19:58

I haven't ventured onto the M1 yet although I should do soon (we're very close to a junction), but I've done the M25! I think motorway driving is a bit nicer than normal driving as it's just a case of keeping with the flow of traffic. I'd just stick in the slow lane behind a lorry and then if you need to pull over it's a bit easier as you're next to the hard shoulder. Hopefully we will all be feeling better around the magic 12 week mark!

SassehMonsta · 07/04/2014 20:09

Yes, M1 is easy to drive on - I live near 3 junctions, and travel on at least 4 miles of it a day when Im working.

Slightly worried about feeling so crap at work, I cant tell my boss yet! At least its not too far from the office to the loos, and I've yet to actually vomit.

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 20:15

30 miles feels long to me if I'm dizzy though. And the bit I'm on is v busy with loads of lorries overtaking all the time so I find it stressful. But I'll see how I get on as this week I've been less dizzy. Last week I almost blacked out a few times and had to sit on floor!

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 20:16

(My stretch of M1 to work is 30 miles I mean)

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 07/04/2014 20:46

I'm dizzy too. I've also found that so far eating almost constantly helps keep the morning sickness at bay. That didn't work last pregnancy so it's a bit weird.

Accepted I'll probably put on weight but with the dizziness and stuffing my face I'm now worrying about gestational diabetes. My mum became diabetic when pregnant with me and it was diabetic ketoacidosis that she died from so it worries me. I'm not sure eating all the time is good for that.

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 20:53

Pourquoi, can you eat carrots, rice cakes, apples etc so that even if you're eating all the time it won't put on weight? Last pregnancy, second trimester, I was STARVING all the time and brought tubs of chopped carrots, apples and almonds everywhere and snacked constantly on them ... not as nice as custard creams but better than nothing!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 07/04/2014 21:03

That is a very good idea mopsytop. I've been trying to eat things that will fill me up but it really isn't working so I'll try your idea. Grin

I may have to take an entire sliced cucumber into work tomorrow though. That won't be suspicious at all... I'm sure no-one will suspect a thing...

mopsytop · 07/04/2014 21:17

I ate kilos of carrots, peppers and cucumbers. Hummous is yum w them and really fills you up...

Shanels · 07/04/2014 21:43

Oh Mrs.Ftn I'm so sorry. ??

I asked my gp if I could get an early scan etc but she just said no.

On the exercising topic, my yoga instructor said no yoga until 14 weeks so I'm going to have to stop for a bit, all being well.
I also keep saying all being well... All the time!

I wish I was eating guys- I think an appetite is a sign of good health. Enjoy it but just be sensible. X
