So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Emily, no this will be my second, my little girl and almost 2 and a half. She's currently poorly with tonsilitis, it's horrible to see her suffering. Hmm
I meanwhile can't be bothered doing anything and am still in my pjs!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 04/04/2014 13:40

Aw bless her i had that in january it was horrible hope she gets better soon.
Glad to hear laziness is common in early pregnancy and it's not just me!! Lol

BobaFetaCheese · 04/04/2014 13:49

Jo, my eldest is 2 and had tonsillitis a few weeks back, we're still on the aftereffects (stopped being potty trained, lost weight from not eating etc) so fingers crossed your girl is better & back to herself quicker x

SecretGeek · 04/04/2014 14:16

Hi, I've been lurking here for a while...can I join please ladies?

5w today after ICSI/IVF (2 years TTC) so still can't quite believe it and more terrified than excited at this stage.

Early scan on 22nd April and hoping that will cure my POAS addiction but probably not!

EDD is 5th Dec.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 04/04/2014 15:34

Welcome secret geek!! I am 5+1 and like you still can't believe I'm pregnant!! But we are and we must cherish every moment! :) best of luck. Have u had any symptoms?

nickyjlees · 04/04/2014 15:56

So sorry sweep, it must be a very hard time for you. Sending love x

nickyjlees · 04/04/2014 15:59

emily, Ffallanda my first too and I am very happy and grateful but terrified at the same time! Seems to be so much to f

nickyjlees · 04/04/2014 16:00

*find out! Also seems like people assume you already must know a lot of stuff just because you're a woman! :s

somethingwittynot · 04/04/2014 16:11

Mmy DS had tonsillitis when he was 14 months and it was awful! Total sympathy here

symptoms are back with a vengance today however my skin is looking fabulous!

PunkyPod · 04/04/2014 16:11

Congratulations Secret. That's really wonderful after your struggles. Wishing you a smooth ride Smile

chillychicken · 04/04/2014 16:18

Congratulations secretgeek!

I'm having a super stressful day and just want to go home and weep.

I've been really quite angry with people today as well, most unlike me!

PunkyPod · 04/04/2014 16:19

Emily by all means create a first time baby thread if you'd like. But I would say that I learnt a huge deal from 2nd+ time mums during my first pregnancy on mn. So many things I wouldn't even have thought about. From tips to help you completely empty your bladder when you're huge to how to manage swollen hands to omg-has-anyone-ever-experienced-this-before?!?!?! I know I'm definitely feeling just as mind boggled and bonkers as I did with my dd. It's just that I have her to occupy a lot of my time as well as my thoughts and protectiveness of my growing baby.

isambardo · 04/04/2014 16:49

Congratulations secretgeek, I hope you have a nice and easy pregnancy.

I totally understand the idea of a separate thread for first time mums emilypinkorblue, when I was pregnant with my son I didn't actually join the antenatal thread because everyone else seemed to have children already or knew so much more than me. I didn't spend much time with babies until I had one.

MrsFtn · 04/04/2014 17:15

Congratulations to today's new members - here's to straightforward, problem-free pregnancies (and births) for everyone!
There's no reason why you can't be a member of a first time thread and this thread at the same time Smile. I have to say though that it was over 4 years ago that I found out I was pregnant with DD and I can't remember a lot of the details - plus as we are always hearing 'every pregnancy is different' so we're all in the same boat really.
I had a phone call from GP not long ago to say the hospital has booked me in for a scan on Monday EEEK! I was in Tesco when I got the call and I went a bit dizzy and lightheaded and thought I was going to have to dump my trolley to find somewhere to sit down! Luckily it passed as I stood there clinging on feeling a bit of a wally Blush

ImBrian · 04/04/2014 17:34

Ihaveto I'm so sorry to hear your news I hope you get you get good news very soon.

I felt lots more sick today, wondering if I'm 6 weeks about now as that's when it's supposed to kick in.

For the first time mams, other posters are right. Personally I'm like a walking encyclopaedia of pregnancy. 7 pregnancies, 4 babies, a sister who's a midwife and a massive google habit mean I know far to much and I wish I could remove half of it from my head! If I start being sick mind I will need help as that's only happened once with dc 2. Anyway it's worth being on both threads as some of us 2nd/3rd/too many timers might be able to help out if you're stuck with something.

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone.

emily - you're right, I should be positive and try to enjoy it. My symptoms have mainly been massive bloating and sore breasts. Occasionally get a bitter taste in my mouth when I eat or drink and total exhaustion has set in today. Crazily hoping for some MS to reassure me it's actually happening!

Sorry to hear about your day chilly. Hope you now have a weekend off to relax.

I would definitely join a first timer thread but also hoping to get lots of hints and tips on here from those who've already got the tee shirt Grin

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 04/04/2014 20:42

Hi ladies I have started a thread for first time mummy's due in dec as feel it will be nice to chat about first time things but will also still post here so that I can take all of your experienced mummy's wisdom :)

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 04/04/2014 20:44

Secret geek ditto on the major bloating and sore boobs I've had to buy a size bigger jeans and think will need to buy a bigger bra soon as I was showcasing 4 boobs today through my jumper!

Vicky5910 · 04/04/2014 20:50

2nd timers or more, when did you tell older siblings? How did they take it?
I'm still in pain :( hoping it's just things shifting about and it's just my memory of last time is hazy!

CoventGarden75 · 04/04/2014 21:32

Hello, I don't feel quite ready to join you fully just yet (very early days), but just popping in to say hi and share this with you if you want to use it.

SnowBabiesStats

Enter your details on the "Data" page and go and check the "Stats" page. It might be useful to keep track of everyone progress as the group grows (2 annoying points: the dates have to be entered in the format mm/dd/yyyy, and the charts don't work if you use a mobile)

A bit more about me, TTC 5 years, 3 ICSI, 1 mmc, 1 FET.

So sorry to see this thread as already suffer some losses, my heart goes out to you Sweep and Iwantto. It helped me to read the miscarriage association website

Lots of sticky dust to all and have a wonderful weekend

ImBrian · 04/04/2014 21:39

Vicky with the first couple I told them at about 8 weeks but with my last I was 17 weeks which I preferred I incase anything goes wrong.

Makes sense brian, my 3yo is too clever for her own good and overheard us talkin so she knows. We watched a nina and the neurons yesterday where they were talking about belly buttons and umbilical cords. DD was fascinated, she's asking me to send things to baby through the umbilical cord!
She's a blabber mouth though, luckily she's been saying she's having a brother for about a year so everyone thinks she's fibbing :/

MrsFtn · 05/04/2014 15:31

Big wave to Covent I will check out that link when on laptop. wishing you a VERY successful pregnancy after what sounds like a VERY long and difficult journey to get here.
I am going to leave it as long as possible to tell DD. I don't want her telling everyone 'mummy's got a baby in her tummy' before the 12 week scan at least!
I have woken up with a sore throat and chesty cough today so feeling rather sorry for myself - and I have DD all to myself this weekend while DH does Duke of Edinburgh with school. I took her to the cinema this morning to watch Frozen but she got scared by the snow monster and we had to leave early Sad
Had a really strange dream last night that my sister was pregnant - she already has 2 almost grown up children but the dream was especially strange as she has had a hysterectomy!!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend full of Brew and Biscuit in the absence of Wine!

xcrazedndazedx · 05/04/2014 16:57

Great spreadsheet Covent makes it all feel more real, and so nice to be included in a group like this, especially at a time when no one else knows I'm pregnant. Coming over all emotional and tearful at the moment Smile

ImBrian · 05/04/2014 18:00

Covent the spread sheet opens on my iPhone Smile

Today I've had a migraine so I've just had a 2 hour sofa snooze. I hate them so hopefully it's not going to turn into a regular occurrence.

Is anyone else having vivid dreams? Twice now I've dreamed that I'm bleeding and loosing the baby. It's so real when I wake up I think it's really happened.

Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend, I've just finished work for 2 weeks off Grin
