WELCOME! Thanks This thread is for all Mums-to-be expecting Maybies babies in (and around) May 2014! Please come and join the fun.

Put your feet up, get yourself a (decaf?) cuppa Brew and settle in to hear the aches and pains, trials and tribulations, shopping excitement and hospital bag woes of those in their third trimester.

Hopefully you'll find a listening ear and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone welcome, especially if you're new to MN and are just peeking in as you start your maternity leave.

If you'd like to mark your place perhaps you could tell us who you are and how long you've got to go!

Happy chatting Maybies!

Is anyone as tired as they were in the first trimester yet? I think I reached that point yesterday. Counting my blessings that there's no vomiting though!
I was supposed to get out of bed six minutes ago but the thought of it makes me want to cry.

loopylou52 · 20/03/2014 07:17

I seem to go through phases of it dobe, where the overwhelming tiredness just hits me very suddenly, which is a bit like I was in first trimester.

Re belly buttons, mine has a kind of lip too, where it's kind of half in half out. I keep absent mindedly prodding it - really hope I don't walk around in public feeling my belly button! Blush

randdom · 20/03/2014 07:17

Thanks everyone, I'm ok. Got really dizzy afterward and had to sit down on a wall. Feeling much calmer this morning.

loopylou52 · 20/03/2014 07:18

Hope you're ok randdom!

loopylou52 · 20/03/2014 07:19

Sorry, cross-posts. Glad you're feeling calmer this morning.

Vikks · 20/03/2014 07:40

Glad you're ok randdom x

Bush what an amazing time you must have had. Sounds like my idea of heaven.

Dobe the tiredness is definitely back here. I could have an afternoon snooze every day. I think I did in my first pg, but DS has other ideas now.

On a big positive note; last day of work today!!! And family holiday tomorrow, can't wait. We've booked a beautiful cottage in the Lake District for all my family, I'm pretty sure they'll make sure I do nothing for a week. Grin
I'm a bit nervous as I have a midwife appointment later and my BP was high last night again. They sent me straight to hospital twice before and kept me in over night! I want to go on holiday!!! Fingers crossed. XWink

Big waves to all. X

Vikks do u check your own blood pressure?

Rosie2011 · 20/03/2014 07:51

Hey everyone! Im due May 11th with my first a little boy :-) 28 years old and VERY excited. Not been too well this week but have been pretty lucky up to now. Any other Surrey mums out there? xx

JodeyP · 20/03/2014 07:55

Mt belly button is getting flatter but don't think it will pop out to being an outie. The skin inside is so silky smooth though.

I've got another scan at 34 weeks but that's just to check the position of the placenta as I may be having an elective C Section and they need to check its not covering or too close to the existing scar on my womb from the last one.

In real turmoil about whether to go for an elective though! I'm rubbish at making decisions and watching OBEM makes me really want to go for a VBAC. However, family history is not giving me any confidence that I'll have a natural delivery. I really can't face the ordeal of my first labour! Wish I had a crystal ball to tell me exactly what would happen this time round so I can make a decision without feeling guilty Sad. It's so silly the pressure we put on ourselves!

Also I keep waking up at 4:30-5am wide awake and find it near impossible to go back to sleep. I think it's because there is so much going on at work. I haven't had chance to get hardly anything I need or the baby and time is flying.

Off to the docs in a bit for a whooping cough injection. Anyone else had it? Also taking DS1 for his pre-school jabs. Getting our done together and being brave!

McBaby · 20/03/2014 07:58

Struggling massively. I have a horrid chest infection with raging temperature and cough. I have pulled all my back and stomach muscles. I have an umbilical hernia so my belly button sticks out an inch and is agony every time I cough. Plus I have an active 19 month old to look after and I can't pick her up or rest. Plus my BP is so low I want to feint it was 80/50 yesterday. Every time in cough or eat I get the most evil heartburn for ages and my medicine is not working to stop it. Feeling very sorry for my self.

On the positive side 34+2 so drop zone is less than 3 weeks away. :)

Bornin1984 · 20/03/2014 08:11

Welcome Rosey :-)

Jodey, I had whopping cough at 28 weeks - no issue with it - very similar to flu jab :-)

Vikks · 20/03/2014 08:29

Bornin I do have my own Bp monitor but my midwife didn't recommend using it. I haven't used it in ages, don't know why I felt the need last night. 153/93 last night, my booking in was 110/60. I'll see what they say later, I'm not do it myself again.

bushprincess · 20/03/2014 09:22

Hope your bp is ok and you can get off on your holiday vikks sounds lovely!

Sorry you're feeling so rough mcBaby anyone around who can give you a hand with your little one so you can get some rest?

So, maybe a bit naff, but I've just been for a pregnancy photo shoot - and it was actually really good fun! remains to be seen if any of the photos are any good, and will probably remain for DH and my eyes only, but will be nice to have something to remember this bit by! (DH was v.keen as all the ones he takes of me I get huffy and complain I just look fat not pregnant!)

Welcome Rosie! and Jodie I hope the decision making process goes well and you're happy with whichever call you make

right, must stop procrastinating and get on with some work!!!

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 20/03/2014 09:34

Had my whooping cough a couple of weeks back Jodey it was fine, arm was sore for a day afterwards but nothing else :)

Not looking forwards to midwife today, she's got to re-check my iron levels. Time to sneakily knock back 15 iron tablets, a carton of orange juice and a steak Hmm Grin will be interesting to see if bump measures 37cm for her too.

Hope everyone's ok today and has a good day :)

NannyPlumForPM · 20/03/2014 10:17

Welcome back bush !! Hope you had an amazing time. :)

Great to hear we're on the home straight! I expect baby news soon :) 33+4 today so not long if they induce at. 37 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. Glad weather is picking up too,

Really sorry to hear all your aches and worries clearly dobe random et al . It's getting miserable toward the end! Dd came up to me yesterday and says "mummy.... Is poppy annoying you?" (Poppy being dd2's name Grin

HairdreSsing appt today so am getting beautiful swishy highlights and a good three hours of pampering mmmm

NannyPlumForPM · 20/03/2014 10:18

Oh and I'm having weekly scans now because of gd and low amniotic fluid Etc, but it's undeniably nice for reassurance!

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 20/03/2014 10:58

I don't mean to scare anyone

but

there's a December thread.

Shock

They'll be having their babies when we're celebrating Christmas with our snuggly 7/8 month olds (I'm probably wrong on that, maths isn't my strong point Blush ).

The realisation now that they've agreed to induce on due date if I don't go before then is starting to sink in that I'll have had a baby by this time in six weeks Shock

34+3

Bornin1984 · 20/03/2014 10:59

A December thread???? Crickey they must only just have caught!!!

Hezbean · 20/03/2014 11:03

Morning all. Welcome back bush we missed you! Your hols sounded amazing.

Welcome rosie and jodie. I have my whooping cough jab tomorrow and my 31 week check at the doctors. No more scans for me either - would be nice to have one to know everything is ok!

My belly button is totally flat atm too but I think it might pop out at some point. The skin that used to be the innie bit is really soft and sensitive - dh is fascinated by it. I hate having my belly button touched anyway but now it just feels really weird....!

I was so tired and stressed out yesterday but feel a lot better today after a quiet evening and an early night. Even despite dh rolling home drunk with his mate at 2am and snoring and keeping me awake breathing booze over me. He hadn't been out for ages and his mate is moving overseas so they were having a final hurrah. This morning he was v hungover and said he thought he was over big nights out and much preferred staying in with me and couldn't wait to be a family with the baby. Bless.

Does anyone else get woken up at night by the baby having a disco in their belly?!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 20/03/2014 11:05

Seriously!! They could have only just had sex Shock

impatientlywaiting · 20/03/2014 11:09

Can't believe there is a December Thread. That is crazy.

Wonder when the next ThreadBaby will be born? We should have a sweepstake.

wm3010 · 20/03/2014 11:24

Morning all, thinking of all of you who are struggling - trying not to think about bush because I'm too jealous Wink but nice to have you back...

4 weeks today is my last day at work, will be 37 weeks exactly. That still seems manageable so hopefully will be ok.

Just heard about a former colleague who had her baby a couple of days ago - 11lb 14.5oz!!!!!!! I am in shock!

NannyPlumForPM · 20/03/2014 11:42

11lb?? Bloody hell... Did anyone see that daily mail cough article online that showed the 8 month old 'baby' that was 3.1 stones? He was vair chunky but soooooo adorable hehe

NannyPlumForPM · 20/03/2014 11:43

Omg almost 12lb!! I weighed dd this morning and she is 1st. 10lb and she's 3 1/2!

wm3010 · 20/03/2014 11:53

Yes I have had words with the bump this morning to inform her that I am prepared for her being on the large side (I was 9lb something) but that there is absolutely no need for her to compete - the midwives called the baby Hercules!
