We're going through these fast! Thought seen as we were filling up the last thread fast I'd attempt a new thread, not sure how to copy our due date list over though... Could someone else do that?

cake so sorry to hear that :(

BlueberryPoppy123 · 10/03/2014 19:56

Mum2kiss that's great! Pleased you had positive response!!

Just to fill everyone in, my useless drs surgery eugh! I got app with head of the surgery... Went in and gave him letter the scan lady gave me... He said basically this says you've not had a viable pregnancy! Which made me get very upset I said that's not actually what the letter says at all it says that the scan doesn't correspond with a pregnancy of 8weeks... He said probably means I've had a miscarriage... Talk about suck it to me! No point complaining with my surgery these things always happen... He did however refer me to epau however they won't rescan me until 10 days after my previous scan... So I have to wait until Monday! A whole week... I'll have the scan on the ward I work on in the hospital so I'm very scared about them knowing my personal business... They refused to do the HCG blood test too to try and ease my mind idiots (apologies for essay ha)

Cakebaker how are you handling the stress!? Hope your doing ok

action this week, know it wont be easy.

bumpbangbump · 10/03/2014 20:14

So sorry cake!

FlipFantasia · 10/03/2014 20:21

Cake so so sorry to hear that Hmm. It's utterly devastating. Take care of yourself.

Blueberry sorry your gp was so rough Hmm. Waiting 10 days/two weeks is pretty standard and I'm surprised the private scan didn't tell you that already. This week will be a long one for you, thinking of you xx

Pusscous I've booked in with a midwife practice. Some hospitals near me don't even do vbacs, which shocked me! So was happy to find a midwife practice happy to do vbacs (first birth was an emcs, second a vbac). Yelp doesn't sound like helpful advice! Do you have a local message board you could ask on or search on? Ours is a treasure trove of useful info!

Me23 · 10/03/2014 20:31

cake how awful, I'm so sorry.

blueberry I'm also sorry to hear of your agonising wait although as flip points out is normal to wait between scans to give enought time to be able to see if pregnancy is progressing.

flip I'm so pleased you have found a midwife practice America is extremely medicalised where birth is concerned it is big business! Hae you watched the business of been born? It's a great documentary about the medicalisation of childbirth in America and elsewhere.

PunkyBubba · 10/03/2014 20:38

Cake I am so so sorry. Thinking of you.xxx

CareBearWithFangs · 10/03/2014 20:42

Cake, my heart really goes out to you. Take care of yourself. Thanks

Blueberry your doctor sounds like a bit of knob. I hope you'll be ok this week.

So sorry for the multiple posting! Gah, phone told me they hadn't gone through [embarassed]

Loulou888 · 10/03/2014 20:49

cakebaker I'm so sorry thinking of you at such an awful time.

blueberry fingers crossed next week brings positive results.

pebble82 · 10/03/2014 20:52

Flip you may have noticed I've made similar phone related stupid posts in the past. We understand :-)

FlipFantasia · 10/03/2014 20:54

Me23 the business of being born is on my list to watch. I'm a massive Ina May gaskin fan. It's rather scary at how medicalised things are here (also linked to the awful maternity leave provisions - most daycares near us take babies as young as a week or two old Hmm - but if you're getting mere weeks at home with you infant I can see why an elcs at 37/38 weeks seems appealing). The whole healthcare industry feels like a massive racket, not just birth. Feel v lucky to have found a midwife (especially as they think I'd be able to labour in water!),

binkybunny · 10/03/2014 21:04

Am braving obem tonight. Not sure how much I'm going to get through though... Terrified of labour!

TroubleAndFyfe · 10/03/2014 21:06

So sorry Cake SadThanks
Fingers still crossed blueberry!
Me23 I'll search that documentary too as love Ina! I watched the first episode of Country Midwives on iplayer last night, thanks for the recommendation. Great to see decent breastfeeding advice for once.

FlipFantasia · 10/03/2014 21:15

Trouble I think the business of being born is actually ricki lake but I saw an amazing film about Ina may and the farm midwives last year (can't remember the name just now!).

Me23 · 10/03/2014 21:17

Yes trouble and flip love Ina May gaskin, remember being so inspired by her books in my 1st year if midwifery training. Everyone on here if you want a book to read about birth that will leave you feeling empowered I would reccomend Ina May gaskins guide to childbirth.

I loved country midwives, looks like a lovely place to work.
