We're going through these fast! Thought seen as we were filling up the last thread fast I'd attempt a new thread, not sure how to copy our due date list over though... Could someone else do that?

Complain blueberry. It's not her place to decide who is more important. Ring them back and make sure you get an appointment!

bumpbangbump · 10/03/2014 10:06

Oh blueberry, that's rubbish. I second complaining! And call the community midwife of go are being crap, they should be able to refer directly in this type of case.

Just checking in. You lot are quite the chatty bunch. I can't keep up.

Someone mentioned constipation... Lactulose is sadw in pregnancy. Gp will prescribe.

puppythedog · 10/03/2014 10:26

Definitely ring back and ask to speak to practice manager and complain Blueberry. Not acceptable comments.

bythesea82 · 10/03/2014 11:05

Had a scan this morning, mixed really, cyst from last pregnancy which ended as mc still there at a lovely 6x8cm (where does that fit in?!) so they have transferred me to consultant led care with appointment in 10 days. Baby itself there and saw a heart beat so that's good. Signs of bleeding in the uterus, they sai this might go or I might get bleeding throughout pregnancy (great) and can cause preterm labour - kind of just want to get to 12 weeks at this stage!!!! So feeling not very reassured and kind of overwhelmed Confused

BlueberryPoppy123 · 10/03/2014 11:15

Can't speak to community midwife as never been put in contact with them still! Managed to get an app today but not til end of the day they said it's because a dr has gone sick patients have to be prioritised... Made me so angry!

OP posts:
puppythedog · 10/03/2014 11:57

Not receptionists Job to prioritise. I would complain to the practice manager. not necessarilly about whether an appointment was available today or not but becuase of the manner of the receptionist. You may pose this as; how would the Practice like a law suit if the receptionist triaged something as not important but which really was and the family or ill person or pregnant person sued them?

Me23 · 10/03/2014 12:00

bythesea im glad you scan went well in terms of baby hb seen, wrt to the cyst try not to worry to much often cysts will not interfere with the pregnancy but will need to be monitored in rare instances cysts mayneed to be removed this would be done in 2nd trimester and it shouldnt affect your baby. Also was the bleeding in your uterus placental lakes? If so again fairly common and usually nothing to worry about. You will probzby just need more scans to monitor both.

bythesea82 · 10/03/2014 12:22

Thanks Me23.
Hoping cyst will just squish round everything else! Just said bleeding was at the top of the uterus, didn't mention anything else. We'll fingers crossed, hopefully it'll be fine, just a lot of information on a Monday morning!

Blueberry, glad you got an appointment. Agree that getting past receptionist screening is hard work!

pebble82 · 10/03/2014 12:51

Argh, just eaten a ham sandwich only to be told it's dangerous for pregnant women but if I want to take the risk then that's up to me (followed by disapproving glare).

Please tell me I've not just commited the worst sin ever. half considering making myself throw up!

CareBearWithFangs · 10/03/2014 13:13

A Ham sandwich?! I can't think of any reason why that would be dangerous. I'd continue to happily eat it while glaring back at whoever said that to you.

Blueberry I would definitely complain. The receptionists used to do this in our area but after enough complaints it changed. A doctor now calls you back within half an hour to asses how urgent it is over the phone.

How are you doing cakebaker?

Loulou888 · 10/03/2014 13:15

What's wrong with ham? I've had one too although already feel sick after eating it and not much is staying down x

Me23 · 10/03/2014 13:42

Nothing at all is wrong with ham don't worry you can safely eat it during pregnancy go here is you need more clarification on what to avoid in pregnancy www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx

pebble82 · 10/03/2014 14:11

Thanks. Think she must have been thinking about Parma ham.

Same person just asked what I'm planning on doing with my two cats because "of course you can't keep them". Eh? Why not? I'll be very careful not to have them alone on the same room. surely pets and babies have lived together perfectly fine before.

Me23 · 10/03/2014 14:39

Lol this person seriously needs educating. I have 3 cats btw! I found them sleeping in prams and car seats a few times when eye wasnt on the ball but they have never done anything untoward to either of my dc.
Thankfully we dont have a litter tray they go outside but just being extra cautious re handwshing after touching them.

Ive been thinking of cake today I hope she is ok.

mrsb87 · 10/03/2014 14:43

This person seems a bit daft! Cats are fine as long as you're not the one changing litter trays etc.
Sounds like she's a bit bitter, enjoy eating your ham sandwich in front of her face!
I really want cheesecake....hmmmmmm

pebble82 · 10/03/2014 14:50

Haha. I do have a litter tray as they're mostly indoor cats but DP is on poop cleaning duty and we'll be buying a baby gate to guard it from crawling baby when the time comes. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Hopefully I'm not going to be the worst mother ever!

gunwalloe · 10/03/2014 15:01

Just back from my second attempt at the harmony test all looking good, just got the two week wait now. Who else is awaiting results?

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 10/03/2014 15:25

Blimmin eck! I got behind on reading towards the end of the 1st thread and now we're on the 3rd! Grin Sorry for everyone who's no longer here.Sad

I had an early scan due to previous mc and they put my edd back to 16th Oct. It was fab. Not only did we get to see a tiny heartbeat hut we saw the umbilical cord and arm and leg paddles!

Got a 12wk booked for early April and my 1st mw appt next week. It's all going on here! Except my mw only works 2 days a week and then happen to be the same to days I work. Not sure my bosses will be too impressed but hey ho, nothing they can do. Grin

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 10/03/2014 15:40

Just had a quick catch up. FX for blueberry and cake. x

MundayCakes85 · 10/03/2014 16:53

Hi ladies, just got back from a long weekend in Dublin. Was fab, apart from the not partaking in the black stuff and missing all the sunshine!
Really sorry to see some people go, and have my fingers crossed for those awaiting news/ scans/ results.

mum2kiss · 10/03/2014 17:23

Afternoon all...

so we told dps parents over he weekend...they are over the moon! His mum has never been too keen on me because our relationship has meant he has relocated away from her! However, this news seems to have changed everything. They were so excited as this will be their first grandchild. Made this whole thing seem a lot more real!

pebble82 · 10/03/2014 17:30

Mum2kiss that's great. Lovely when babies can bring families closer.

pusscous · 10/03/2014 17:34

FlipFantasia I am in CA. I agree the whole system in the US is very different. I had researched thoroughly my local options at home (thinking t might have happened there) and friends, family had been through the local services. Now I have to start from scratch and was told by GP's office to research OB using Yelp! Wondering how medicalised the process will be..

Mrsthedog · 10/03/2014 18:29

Absolutely. We have a blackboard and we are writing my current bublet status on it everyday, hoping for the day when it says 12+6 and it will be scan day :)

Cakebaker35 · 10/03/2014 19:50

Hello all

Well I'm sorry to say it's bad news here - having started bleeding yesterday, I saw my gp today and had a scan which showed that the pregnancy had not really progressed beyond about 6 weeks, so effectively I'm in the middle of having a miscarriage, technically a missed one as I had no symptoms at the time. I was also told that it would have been twins. I have to have one more scan next Monday to finally confirm it and decide if I need to go in for a procedure to remove what's left, but it's pretty conclusive after today. I felt utterly heartbroken last night but having had things confirmed today I'm just trying to be grateful it happened early on.

I'd be grateful if someone could please remove me from the list.

Wishing you all the very best of luck x
