October 2014 - Thread 3... More morning sickness and tired mummy's!

We're going through these fast! Thought seen as we were filling up the last thread fast I'd attempt a new thread, not sure how to copy our due date list over though... Could someone else do that?

I started my mat leave at 36 wks with DS...he was 9 days late. Started at 38 wks with DD...she was 11 days late but i was so in need of finishing up with her...I'd had 5-6 wks of a horrid chest infection & then the heat wave to contend with...oh & DS got chickenpox on my due date...

I've taken almost 10 months with both...9 months SMP & a few weeks hol tagged on at the end.

I'm thinking it'll be a year this time as DS will be starting school in Sep 2015 so would like to be around for his first month at school. And this will defo be my last mat leave....

Evening ladies! Wow what a beautiful day it's been? Lovely weather for my birthday today. For the first time in almost about 6weeks I have felt almost human with minimal nausea. I've pretty much eaten normally, had ice cream and a roast today :-) I had lovely gifts, 2 pregnancy related. One bump casting kit which looks like fun and also a holistic back, neck and shoulder pregnancy massage (for when I get creeky apparently, thanks bro! Haha) which I'm sure I will appreciate further down the line!

I haven't thought much about mat leave yet, I guess tge HG has been enough to think about. Scan on Friday though and I can't wait!

It feels so early to be thinking about mat leave but truth to tell, when we were TTC I always had an eye on the calendar as to what mat leave might look like. I work in education to and will only be going back for 2 weeks. Planning to take just under the 39 weeks and then go in for the tail end of term. Basically my work will hate me but I don't really care!

Had terrible sleep Saturday night so slept like a dead person last night. Shame I have to go to work instead of grab another hour in bed! Never mind, only 3 weeks till Easter break.

I have a question about pregnant bodies that someone on no, 2 might be able to help me with.

I'm an hour glass figure. If I gain weight it goes on my bum, my thighs and then my boobs. My underboob measurement tends to stay the same. Since I got pregnant I've gained weight (I think), but my boobs haven't really grown, all trousers fit on bum and thighs, no change anywhere else.

Thing is, I have an enormous fat belly! It's not bump, it's definitely fat... wobbly even. Gross. And it's hard to hold in! Oh, anf the heparin bruises make it feel even more wobbly/weird and not quite 'mine'. Does pregnancy change the way your body lays down fat? Am I just going to have a fat covered bump, or does it sort of get used up somehow?

Morning! I've been thinking about maternity leave as well. I'm going to try to take 10 months (including leave) but it's going to be extremely tight financially. I'm the main earner (only earner really, DH's business breaks even just about).

What I'm hoping to avoid is going back just as the weather turns nice and the baby gets more fun - I'll be too jealous of DH!

Feeling bleugh today and having to take my second morning sickness sick day. I was up all night and literally cannot move without wanting to throw up! Really don't want to call in today as I feel bad taking time off and some of the girls in the office keep telling me how they dont know anyone whos suffered morning sickness and it must be quite rare. Think I need to direct them on here!

Ohthegoats, I have the exact same problem as you! I think my boobs have gone up a cup size at most, but the rest of me is all just tummy at the moment. I'm telling myself the bloat is just pushing out any untoned tum flab I already had, especially because it does seem to be worse some days than others. I'm going to try to do my Prenatal Pilates dvd every day now, I feel so much better for it after doing an hour yesterday.

Non pregnancy moan alert!!

My shitting buggery crappy piece of shit car has died! Like dead, no return!!! I hate my life today. And buses, I hate buses!!!!!

I am off work because I feel crappy. Ten weeks tomorrow. Three weeks until my dating scan. Have a fit of the sullens. No chocolate in the house. Loads of work to do. Need a virtual slap.

Anyone care to oblige?

Hi mrs I dont think feeling crap and having no chocolate deserves a slap. Also feeling fed up of feeling rubbish. We have no food that I can face in the house and feel way too ill to make the shops :-( Nibbling on dry cornflakes and mini bananas. I'm 10 + 4 and hoping morning sickness is nearly at an end!

Oh bump poor you. Buses are just hideous things. My last bus ride consisted of a young girl in front of me messing in her pants which stunk for the full 45 minute commute and a guy shouting at a howling cat he'd got on with. Was sooo pleased to get a car to commute in. Hope you get yours fixed!

Tried to make Nigella's five minute choccy cake-in-a-mug. Not worth the calories.

Puppy was very sweet this morning and suggested we get an early scan but there are no appointments today and as I am a bit like Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I WANT ONE NOW!!

Feel a bit better that at least I am not on a bus with people pooing their trouserlings :)

mrs thankfully that bus ride was before I got pregnant. Could not have coped with that and my sensitive gag reflex now!

Choc cake in a mug sounds like it should be amazing, was it not?

Anyone else having some pregnancy symptoms but not really feeling pregnant?? (if that makes sense?!)
Im 10 + 2 and although I have waves of nausea throughout the day, am much more tired than usual, and have definitely put on weight (yes to the wobbly belly!), I don't feel like there is a growing baby inside of me!
This is DC2 and I can't remember what I felt like at this stage last time.
I guess not having had a scan yet (it's now on 2nd April) so not having seen anything doesn't make it very real... plus I'm worrying myself silly after reading of the sad stories on here.....
Anyone else feel like this?

I think my feeling crap hit a peak at around 10 weeks and then diminished very quickly. 9 weeks 5 days was the day of the snot bubble crying/emergency mental health day to Brighton, and within a couple of days of that I felt significantly better. Still exhausted, but much less 'rough'.

Maybe it was just that after 10 weeks of it I was at the end of my tether with feeling such a boring old bag... I couldn't do anything without falling asleep or sitting very still to avoid being sick, I just didn't feel like me. Maybe finally doing some bawling about it helped? Maybe the weather cheering up a bit helped?

I don't know, but it seems that lots of people start feeling better after 10 weeks or so. Chin up...

Anyone else feel like this?

Yes! Fewer symptoms are making me think that things have gone wrong between the scan I had last Saturday (at 10+5), and now. Irrespective of the Harmony results, which might come in this week, by next Saturday's scan I'll be back to the same state I was in before the first one. Convinced there will be no heart beat.

I'm actually getting scared about telling people, even next week, and even people like my parents, because if it goes wrong then I'll have to explain, and will get all that sorry for you stuff. I'm barely going to tell anyone, and there will definitely be no Facebook announcement. I was thinking last night that I'd like to get to the point of having a baby in my arms and saying 'Oh yeah, I was pregnant... '

Ive not felt pregnant at all yet although im not sure if its because im scared to attach incase something's wrong once I get my Harmony results im sure I will relax. Ive never had morning sickness and only have tiredness as a symptom.

The joys of early pregnancy I'm afraid Ohthegoats. I too have wobbly belly syndrome. Not helped by the amount of rubbish I have eaten to try and battle the nausea. I actually had a delicious Easter egg for breakfast one day last week. Caburys of course. :)

Haha.. 'bump' - it's just fat.. wobbly fat. Urgh.

Gun - I'm with you on the not really attaching. I haven't called it a 'baby' yet out loud. It's PC (which stands for potential child), or 'frog thing' after the scan pictures. I hear about people giving these cute names, and I've gone for 'potential child'. Heartless.
