October 2014 - Thread 3... More morning sickness and tired mummy's!

We're going through these fast! Thought seen as we were filling up the last thread fast I'd attempt a new thread, not sure how to copy our due date list over though... Could someone else do that?

Thanks guys, yes kirstiepops I am 10+4 now and started feeling better at 9 weeks really. My symptoms were never that bad just couple of horrendous weeks and mainly exhaustion really. Ohthegoats I am glad your feeling better, you have had a hard time of it so enjoy this while it lasts. I need to try and stay positive as statistically odds are in my favour but it is challenging, now off to enjoy the sunshine :-)

Enjoy this time Ohthegoats. It's normal for symptoms to fade a bit around 10 weeks although with me they've always come back again until about 15 weeks. Enjoy your lunch. I'm constantly starving but every time I go to eat something I want to puke. Preg is truely the only time you are throwing up and hungry at the same time :)

I just cried the whole way through PS I love you. Such a lovely story. Bloody hormones.
In other news I'm about 12 weeks and even my boobs are feeling almost normal, apparently the second trimester is when we'll feel human again

I'm 10+2 and feeling totally fine (although I'm more like 9+4). Boobs a bit sore when left to roam free as they feel so heavy. No waking in the night, haven't noticed needing a wee more. No sickness and less tired. 1 week, 4 days until scan day when I'll hopefully feel less worried. Can't wait to get on with getting excited and buying baby things.

It is Anita that do big underwired maternity and nursing bras, no need to go without underwire,(the thought makes me shudder) just need to ensure you are wearing the correct size!

Delighted! I have just unearthed my old maternity clothes & put them in the wash. 3 Isabella Oliver tops which are as good as new & mamalicious skinny jeans & Seraphine skinnies. Forgot I had some nice stuff. Yayy!
Just need to find my Anita bras & I am sorted!

I bought a bump band thing today. Non of my trousers do up anymore bit I'm not big enough yet for maternity jeans. Showing so much early than I did with DD!

Glad some people are starting to feel better. I'm getting there but still needs lots of sitting down time

V excited today. Told the church we go to we're expecting and one of our friends have given us an almost brand new Silvercross pram/buggy :-) Its so nice to see how excited people are. Think everyone had given in on us having kids having been married 8 years!

Already mums, when did you start your mat leave? How long before edd?

I was wondering this too Bingo , so I know how much annual leave to keep! My friend stopped a fortnight before her due date, using annual leave she'd saved up so that she'd have her full year's maternity to use afterwards.

Binky it's such a good feeling to be out in the open about it isn't it, I've had some lovely offers for knitting!

Also feeling loads better today, hopefully nothing else in my body will decide to fall apart this week! Doctor told me it was normal to start feeling better because the placenta's almost fully formed around now. HURRAY.

Desperately need to buy some new bras, bordering on public indecency at the minute. Sadly had to spend my entire wage on a stupid root canal so they'll have to hang on (or out) for another week.

ohthegoats tough one with your friend. Also agree that telling her face to face would be better, although harder. Hopefully she'll be supportive if it's happening to her best friend.

bump I've become a statistics monster...there was a thread on here last week about statistics of missed miscarriages in first trimester and they were so low . It's so so sad that we've had so many bad experiences on this thread but the chances are so so low. This from the person who still worries daily about EVERYTHING.

I'm so glad I told people, was a huge relief, even if it meant they no longer thought I'd just turned into a lazy beast!

I'm saving the rest of my annual leave to take before mat leave. As my work say if you're off sick before edd they will start mat leave automatically if that happens. If I'm on annual leave they'll never know if I'm sick or not.

Got a holiday already booked for may but think I have 15 days left after that. Hoping I'll be allowed to take 3 working weeks all in one go but not sure.

Saving started a few months back to cover the last few months of mat leave when I won't get paid anything. That way I'll sort of pay myself a salary and won't rely on DP for everything which I would find difficult.

I started my maternity leave 4 weeks before my due date. And used annual leave to make it back up to a full year when I returned (I had a lot of holidays left and only went back 2 days a week). I'm so so glad I took the extra time off, DP and I got to spend some quality time together before DD arrived and I also got to spend some quality time alone with cake and lots of tv box sets

I think I'll take my full years annual leave approx one month at 28 or 30 weeks the start may leave after that as my job is so physical and exhausting I won't be able cope on my feet for 12.5 hours without a break or get into all fours positions to catch babies born on floor/birthing stools.

I have also thought about mat leave and holidays (providing everything goes to plan). I have about 20 days left and if possible was thinking of saving that to take four weeks before due date, I know it's a long time to be sitting at home waiting but I think by august and having to commute on a stinking hot tube all summer whilst being heavily pregnant will do me in.

I stopped working on a week and half before my csection, for my breech baby, i planned to have lots of rest & relaxation but my dd had other ideas and i went into labour 3 days after i stopped working!!! ( i am nursery teacher, so i was absolutly exhausted)!!

So this time i think i will stop 3 weeks before due date, just incase the early bird catches the worm again(",)

Well, I'm due on 28th September. I guess that in theory I shouldn't go back after the summer holidays (we go back on 1st September). But I think I'll try to if I can. Maybe for 2 weeks - although I won't have been given a class for the year, that wouldn't make sense, so I'll just be an extra. Depends if they can afford me I suppose. I'm dreading telling work - will do it next week (13 weeks on the Monday) if scans etc go OK at the weekend.

I'm going back after the summer holidays, even though it'll just be for two weeks. I think it's better for the kids and other staff in terms of stability if they at least see me for a little while, and to do transition type things. I think otherwise it will be much harder on me going back afterwards as I plan on going back after Christmas, I think. Have been too busy worrying about placentas and nuchal scans to think that far ahead! Should probably start...

My mat leave works out nicely with my contract ending so I have a weeks hol booked for sisters wedding at the end of August will return for 3 days to hand over then my contract finishes last day of August so will be finishing up 5-6 weeks before edd. I dont have a job to go back to so it will just be a case of finding a few hours a week or doing freelance work when/if I decide to go back to work. I thought it would scare me but its actually quite nice not having the pressure of having to go back to work!

I'm not going to go back until after May half term. I've saved up to pay myself a salary for the 6 months where I pretty much get nothing, which means 9 months off. Summer term is nice, and after 8 weeks I'll get another break. I don't know about full time/part time stuff though yet, it sort of depends on finances, which we haven't worked out yet.

I think I will finish up around early September and take 9-12 months off. All that might change though, just my current thinking!

I have just had a very nice relaxing break at Pennyhill Park hotel in Surrey. It was like a pregnant ladies' convention! I would say 1 in 3 women were pregnant, no joke. Probably because the spa does mum to be packages and you don't have to fly anywhere.
I had beauty treatments and relaxed by the pool but avoided the jacuzzi, sauna, hot tub and massage. It was lovely but I did miss those things!
