Got the Harmony results this morning - low risk (1/10000) for Downs, Edwards and Patau. Wasn't expecting to hear from them so early as they only did the test 8 days ago! Hasn't quite sunk in yet but absolutely delighted.

eurochick · 04/03/2014 10:39

That's great news jess!

Secretlypregnant · 04/03/2014 10:41

Oh Jess, brilliant news! So so happy for you!

CountdownBegins · 04/03/2014 10:42

Morning all, thank you for the new thread Owly! Great news on the harmony test Jess :)

I have my midwife appointment today which I'm looking forward to- I have two questions- do I take my wee sample with me (they gave me a pot at the booking in) or do the sample when I'm there? Secondly I keep getting sharp pains in my lady bits (sorry didn't know what to call them) has anyone else been getting these? Anything to worry about or normal?

I'm hoping she listens to the heartbeat, I can fel the baby fluttering away as I type this which is lovely!

HungryHorace · 04/03/2014 10:43

Ah, Jess, that's fantastic news. :-)

You can tell people now. Lovely.

HungryHorace · 04/03/2014 10:44

Take it with you, Countdown. Less faff that way!

I don't think you need to worry really. But you can mention it. Pregnancy throws up all sorts of weird pains!

Secretlypregnant · 04/03/2014 10:45

I have always taken it with me, Countdown, but you can do it there - mine are happy either way.

And I think the pains you're describing are normal - I think I remember similar from last time. But ask your m/w about it today for reassurance!

CountdownBegins · 04/03/2014 10:46

Thanks Hungry- got to love weeing in a pot ha!

Yeah I will mention the pains- better to get it of my cheat I guess!

CountdownBegins · 04/03/2014 10:49

Thanks secretly- the books and apps say its normal but you never know I suppose- I had an appointment with the gynaecologist a few weeks ago for a follow up colposcopy after I had the lletz procedure and he recommended going back for it once the baby has arrived- I think I just wanted the reassurance of a colposcopy so now any pains down there worry me although he said he isn't concerned and said any issues would cause bleeding and not pain. Mind is in overdrive today I think...

HungryHorace · 04/03/2014 10:50

It's fine now...I mastered the art of seeing all over my hand once heavily pregnant. It's almost impossible to wee into something you can't see! :-)

HungryHorace · 04/03/2014 10:56

Weeing. Bloody hell, stupid iPad!

flusteredmumto2 · 04/03/2014 10:57

Countdown I had a colposcopy and lletz a month before I fell pregnant so I'm always worrying that something could go wrong but my drs aren't worried either.

Sitting in maternity bored as I'm having my 1st gtt today. All I really want is a cup of coffee and a bacon and mushroom sandwich. I'm starving!

CountdownBegins · 04/03/2014 11:02

Hard not to worry isn't it flustered!

Hope there isn't too much waiting for the Gtt and you get your bacon fix soon!

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 04/03/2014 11:09

Secretly - yes I would recommend it! It's lovely, cosy Sunday-evening stuff - I usually cry at least once each episode, usually at the happy ending!

flymo79 · 04/03/2014 11:34

that's great news jess!! you must be excited about telling people.
how far along are you Flustered? I haven't been offered gtt till 28 weeks.... eeek

lucyfluff · 04/03/2014 11:45

Oh Jess that's amazing news :) I bet you are so happy!!! Now to enjoy the pregnancy :)

Countdown - I had a colposcopy/biopsy done a few months before falling pg and keep getting some sharp stab by pains...maybe it is from that? Anyway your not alone and I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!!

Just the joys of pregnancy again !

Polkadot1 · 04/03/2014 11:57

Great news Jess - I would've been worried too, what a relief for you! It's my 40th birthday today! Just had a hot stone massage, going out for lunch then to the cinema with DH to see "Cuban Fury"- not been to the cinema since before DS was born 16 months ago!
I need to remember I'm pregnant sometimes- I went down a slide into a ball pool with DS yesterday- thinking the landing would be soft as have done it before- but landed with quite a jolt. So been a bit worried about baby, but good HB on Doppler and no blood or anything- I think they're quite protected but won't do that again. Good luck with all 20 week scans- got mine 2 weeks today- gonna find out the sex but keep it secret x

Hewhodares · 04/03/2014 12:30

secretlypregnant hello my mistake! 16 weeks! Just cannot wait for 20 week scan..... And then I'm planning in telling my girls...eeeeek!

Hewhodares · 04/03/2014 13:46

Anyone know if and when breast pain eases? I can't remember it going on this long in previous pregnancies.... Ouch (16 weeks)

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 04/03/2014 14:49

Ooh, shiny new 'fred, welcome to newbies Pinkandwhite and Hewhodares Smile

Hew; I'm 18+3 and haven't had tender boobs for quite a while now, but I do have new bras that fit better and I'm using an elasticky sports bra/top to sleep in, not sure if that's helped or if it just wore off. They've stopped growing for now!

2 weeks until my scan, can't wait! I've been watching OBEM and actually find it ok to watch, not quite sure how though.

Plentyoffish · 04/03/2014 14:52

great news Jess

Happy Birthday Polka, sounds like you have a lovely day planned.

Hewhodares · 04/03/2014 15:04

ItsSoFluffyImGoingToDie thank you for the welcome... Hmmmmm trip out to get new bras I think, I'm expanding rapidly! How exciting only two weeks to wait for scan. Are you going to find out the sex?

eurochick · 04/03/2014 15:14

Hew mine comes and goes. They seem to hurt most when they have a growth spurt!

I'm another one who had a colposcopy and biopsy shortly before getting pg. My follow up check should have been in December, but as I was in the middle of my IVF cycle then, we left it until we knew whether or not it had worked. We've now agreed that I'll have a follow up at around 32-34 weeks (it would be earlier but I am nervous as this pregnancy has taken 3 years to achieve and I have previously mc'd so the consultant has agreed to wait).

memedragon · 04/03/2014 15:32

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm due early August and currently 18+3. Looking forward to and simultaneously terrified about my 20 week scan which is 2 weeks on Thursday. This is my first pregnancy and I'm feeling pretty anxious about the whole thing - it's all a bit scary and there are so many things to worry about, I wish I could just chill out and be happy about it!

Secretlypregnant · 04/03/2014 15:37

Hi memedragon, welcome! How has your pregnancy been so far? Totally normal to be anxious - there is so much to get your head around, isn't there!
