mrsc I think my friend had it when she was expecting twins-is it the itching caused by something to do with your liver and high hormone levels due to being pregnant? The itching drove my friend to near distraction as she had it from early second trimester onwards!

ickle and plate I've found I seem to be a different shape this time around so different mat clothes seem to be suiting me so keep selling items on eBay so I can justify getting new items :)

Plateofcrumbs · 06/04/2014 19:51

mrsC - I've not heard of PUPPPs but that sounds horrible, hope they can give you something to help.

I've spent the afternoon doing a wardrobe audit and putting all the things I can't wear into storage and replacing with maternity stuff. I think it is time to admit I have a problem Blush

I have:

8 x maternity jeans/leggings/trousers
7 x maternity t-shirts/tops
14 x maternity dresses (fourteen!!!)
5 x other dresses I've bought since getting pregnant that aren't maternity wear but are bump-friendly.

With the exception of two pairs of H&M jeans it's all ebay or sale purchases but I'll freely admit it is way way more than I need (how did I end up with fourteen dresses?!) Shock

Patchwork88 · 06/04/2014 21:11

Plate - I saw you confessing to this on another thread teeheeGrin and I must admit I'm in a fairly similar position, but none of my normal clothes fit and maternity clothes just seem so much more flattering especially at work where I'm more self conscious of the beach ball in my tummy. I make myself feel better by considering how few normal dresses I could have bought for the same amount. When you put it like that it feels like good value for money!
Also any purchase I've made for this baby has been less than my wedding dress, which I wore on one day only. By using my wedding dress as a benchmark nothing seems expensive or unjustifiable! Grin

BlueC2 · 06/04/2014 21:22

mrsc just looked up pupps and it's not what my friend had but looks awful....so sorry you're having to suffer with it! Hope there's some creams or something to help relieve the discomfort and itching!

plate it's very easy to go overboard with mat clothes shopping especially when looking on eBay and in the sales! And patch loving the wedding dress logic! My wedding dress was a bargain as I happened to find that in the sale (there were only 3 dresses in the sale in the whole shop and one turned out to be exactly what I wanted and was the only one in the shop in that style :) ) so that logic doesn't work quite so well for me! I am looking forward to actually doing some normal clothes shopping in the next year though as this will be our last DC...in between DCs there didn't seem much point spending too much on normal clothes as I hoped to get pregnant again!

Still trying to get my work finished off but think I will have to admit defeat at 10pm and ask for an extra day tomorrow....just so much more information to wade through than there appeared at first sight and not feeling well yesterday also hindered progress. Difficult to concentrate sat at the computer with a small party happening in my bump too :)

AuntieMaggie · 07/04/2014 00:07

ismarah the pharmacist I asked called a second one to double check about the magnesium. I take B complex and D at the moment which doctor and midwife fine with. Interestingly when I asked about throat sweets a while ago when I had a cold I was told to not have them...

plate DP did enjoy it (as much as you can...) though he got lost after so ended up doing an extra 10 miles on top of the 160 and we've had a lovely day watching the pro race today. Glad your DH is In one piece.

icklekid · 07/04/2014 06:09

patch the wedding dress logic is genius! If only we had the budget to match...

plate I'm very jealous- normally spend clothes for myself out of small part of wages set aside so dh and I can save as much as we can however his birthday last month I just decided to splash out on and now feel poor Sad keep seeing things in sales/ebay and saying next month. ..If I just spoke to dh he would tell me not to be ridiculous but never mind!

How was everyones weekend? Dh did lots more painting although nearly done which is great! I managed nearly an hour in town shopping before collapsing in a heap at home!

Got 2 physio appointments today- 1 is a check up and one is a group exercise session just not sure have the motivation to go to the hospital twice!

Plateofcrumbs · 07/04/2014 08:22

It is really nice to open my wardrobe now and only be confronted with clothes that fit. Now I just have to step away from eBay and Asos!

ZingSweetCoconut · 07/04/2014 08:34

Morning all!

Wedding was lovely, but as DD wasn't well she sat on my lap the entire evening squashing my belly.
We left at 10.30 (lightweight).
I can't believe how tired I was yesterday!

ismarah

Pinterest has become an obsession.
I mean who can resist soaking up knowledge on how to make strawberry roses?!
So to Joey's most remarkable words "I'm not even sorry!"
Grin

Also in this next two weeks I have tons to do, sorting all the clothes (normal and school uniforms) is just one monumental task.
but I'm here.
And looking forward to 4D scan next week!Smile

Happy Monday!Smile Smile Smile

Howly · 07/04/2014 19:36

Thats on my to do list, I don't even go in my wardrobe as i'm so limited on clothes i'm wearing and washing the same stuff constantly! Baby was kicking off today and whilst sat in a staff briefing the teacher next to me saw my belly move! So strange but such a lovely feeling!

ismarah · 07/04/2014 21:15

Zing Oddly enough, I'm allergic to strawberries so I usually go for actual roses. Or Cadburys Roses. Depends on the occasion...

Think I've finally figured out what we are going to do / store / buy to fit bean and accoutrements into our house before extension (which has been hideously delayed and I am not happy with the architect!) without our lives / work becoming any more hellishly cramped than it already is and without it all needing to be reorganised again when walls start coming down. Now to borrow DH's bank card and go shopping! And storing and generally just being a whirling dervish of pregnant activity. As soon as we're back in the UK and over the jetlag. Which means probably in May? Let's not be too ambitious, eh?

Did I tell you my parents have (without asking re dates) invited themselves over in July? Normally they stay with us which I'm not keen on at this point but will cave nearer the date. I love having them but I also like having my things my way and for them to leave at the end of the day. Which isn't going to happen unless I make them stay in a hotel. That was actually the plan when I thought we'd be building already but now we'll at most be doing the groundwork so there's technically room for them and it would feel churlish to make them do that, somehow.

AuntieMaggie · 07/04/2014 21:42

ismarah DPs parents are renting somewhere nearby when they come in July because of the space issue but also to let us get used to our new routine having the baby around including night feeds and so on and I don't want to have to worry about them so I don't think you would be at all unreasonable to suggest your parents stay in a hotel or at least warn them what staying with you might mean.

We're home after a lovely but exhausting weekend - 5am starts and late nights are something I can't keep up with at the moment and my pelvis is suffering from lots of walking and sitting on a coach...

Patchwork88 · 07/04/2014 21:42

Just went a little bit nuts and ordered pretty much everything left on our list for baby... started to feel guilty but then I realised it was still less than my wedding dress. Yes! The benchmark stills stands!Smile

AuntieMaggie · 07/04/2014 21:49

zing I thought you meant strawberry roses as in.the chocolates until I searched on pinterest Blush

fifi669 · 07/04/2014 21:54

Looking around the house thinking EVERYTHING needs doing. Painting needs to be redone. New blinds. New furniture. Garden needs sorting. Just when I'm too useless to do anything!

icklekid · 08/04/2014 08:39

ismarah I really feel for you I love strawberries Sad Hope you get your parents arrangements sorted!

patch I would really love just to order everything! Although DH and I did order a changing bag last night one that we can both use. Been a nightmare because I want something pretty and DH just wants plain- which to me means boring. Anyway we eventually found something we both liked and bought it quickly!

fifi my garden is the same! Can't even bend over to do up my shoes without hurting let alone weeding... Envy

Its a beautiful sunny morning here so going out for a quick walk before cracking on with 5 weeks of maths planning which is what I need to get done today... boo!

AuntieMaggie · 08/04/2014 09:59

fifi I'm in the same boat with the house and now my pelvis/pubic bone hurts :(

Ipsumlorem · 08/04/2014 11:00

fifi I'm in the same boat too. Have waited 3 weekends for DH to powerwash the patio and sew some grass seed and I'm STILL waiting. Hall also needs redecorating, middle spare room needs bed removed for baby furniture etc to go in there and outside of house needs painted desperately so will have to try and find money for someone else to do that too as there's no chance! To be fair DH got promoted not long after bfp and has been pretty flat out and exhausted since then meaning both of us have been pretty useless! Sad We are off at Easter for a week so hoping to get a few more bits ticked off the list then. I did take the head staggers at the weekend and order new blinds and a vax carpet washer as ours had broke though Grin How do people find the energy to 'nest' properly?! Also my pelvis and back are a bit stiff if I sit or lie for long which isn't too bad but my pubic bone is really really sore atm! Blush

AuntieMaggie · 08/04/2014 11:36

Mine too ipsum - I think I walked too much on the weekend. I can put a hot water bottle on my back but pubic bone is too awkward and close to babys head :(

I've been waiting for DP to get last weekends ride out of the way before making a start on the stuff that needs doing in the house and now I fear I may not be much help if I can't stand for long (which I did warn him may happen) and he's making noises about going out on his bike on Sat Hmm I may have to bargain with him...

icklekid · 08/04/2014 12:49

Ipsum I told my Mum I was looking forward to this 'nesting' urge to clean the whole house and she just laughed... I fear it may not appear!
Just hoping that when I finish work (36 weeks) will be able to rest enough to face doing some of it!

Auntie I have a wrap around heat pad that when back pain is really bad is my life saver! Literally couldn't be without. Am often in need at moment and don't expect it to get any better. Good luck persuading DH to help then maybe he can go for a shorter ride on Sun?

BlueC2 · 08/04/2014 13:15

Just a little note for all those with DIY related nesting urges- admittedly we'd got our flat the best we could before DS was born but when he was 5Mo we moved house-i had far more time and energy to pack up and move house with a 5Mo than I would ever have had whilst working and pregnant. Plus our house needed (still needs :) ) a lot of work doing and I then had the time to project manage a complete new bathroom being fitted plus remoddling of one of the bedrooms into two rooms and then personally doing all the decorating up there-all whilst on mat leave with DS with me full time! When you're used to working it's amazing what you can achieve at home when you're not-even with a little one to look after. DS had great fun having his first trolley ride around B+Q whilst I bought paint and bounced away happily in his door bouncer whilst I packed up the flat! So if you don't get it all done pre July don't fret as there's still mat leave :)

ismarah · 08/04/2014 13:52

I invested in one of those supportive elastic bands for bump and although I doubt I'll wear it in public vanity thy name is preggo Ismarah I find it very helpful for in house activities..

I noticed my pubic bone hurting the other day but as the timing was just after DTD I just linked it to that. Few days later and I'm realising it still hurts. I don't think I have SPD though, like I worried about. I just have a rubbish right leg which with increased weight / center of gravity shifting makes it a bit painful to do some things. I have a list of twinges and pains I will discuss with MW next time though.

As long as you get baby's space ready and have those bits sorted, I don't think you need to worry about painting the rest of the house... Just be realistic as to what you can do, particularly those of us with workaholic or sportoholic (or both!) DHs...

Now. Wish me luck - 27w2days, 9hr transatlantic flight, over night, in cattle. Woop.

AuntieMaggie · 08/04/2014 14:30

ismarah it may be pelvic ligaments causing your pain - I thought my leg issue was seperate until I saw the physio who examined me and explained to me the web of ligaments in the pelvic area. She gave me a support but my pubic bone still hurts. Def raise with your mw and try to get a physio referal.

Good luck with your flight - try to move regularly... several hours on a coach knackered me yesterday.

ZingSweetCoconut · 08/04/2014 14:36

26 weeks today.

I feel sad today. I don't like the thought that in 14 (+2?) weeks it's all over and I'll never be pg again.
I feel like I should do lots of fun pg photos and stuff while I can.
Am I completely insane?Confused

BlueC2 · 08/04/2014 15:04

zing no you're not insane....this will be our second and last DC as we're both settled on just having two...and I don't especially enjoy being pregnant but it is still a very strange thought to think I won't be doing this, feeling this etc again. I started sorting bits out for my hospital bag last night (I know...early, but DH likes to be organised and prepared) and nearly cried at sight of the mini newborn suits and nappies in comparison to DSs which now look fit for a monster (and he's not quite 2 yet!). It's such a unique time of life and experience to go through and the fact this will be DC7 for you means you must really have enjoyed the pregnancy experience and new baby experience :) worth treasuring the memories but enjoying every moment of all your DC- they grow up far too quickly!
