I could have ranted and raved about my MIL until the cows came home before I was PG. She hated me, I hated her..... I could shock you all to the core with MIL stories.

She died just before I fell PG and that awful chapter of my life is over. She made my life a misery(when I let her in it) and I'm on a very different chapter now.

jessddibs · 18/08/2006 07:46

On the whole mil is quite good...she likes her wine and smokes, so when I am not pregnant we have a good relationship. We drink and smoke and set the world to rights over dinner on almost a weekly basis! But....when I am pregnant I find her a bit annoying. We are both stubbon people and in a similar way to all your weddings being interferred with my mil interferes with my home!!! (don't think we will get married...db has been there and done that before..) She has kindly booked a week off work in November to help decorate and move around bedrooms....but....she is telling ME what colors she is thinking of and which curtains and bedding she is going to get for dd's new room!!?!! Hello! It's my home!!!! It's funny because I really make my point and db stays quiet, so that is a sign that he agree's with me! if he sticks up for his mum it normally ends in me storming off to bed! But seriously, I know she is only trying to help, but I don't dictate or comment to her about thier home!! We are close though, she was there all through my own mum's long death of cancer and helped a great deal all round. So to be honest I think she feels a little like a mother role to me and she had two boys so it's a bit of a novelty to have a 'daughter' and grandaughter! Maybe thats why we get get away with having these debates about things without falling out or getting too stressed!! Will let you know what happens in November when we actually start to shop and decorate!!!LOL!

I am glad to say that the smoking thing hasn't been too difficult...I think I have had about three fags in the last 4months and that is due to stress, like someone else mentioned. Db doesn't know though, he would go mental! I try to think and focus on the baby, and the guilt I would feel if this baby came into the world having problems...guilt trips do tend to work for me, fortunatley.

Also, anyone got OK! magazine this week???? I can't believe how big Kerry Katona is and she is only 5weeks pregnant! Not due till 1st April! I look like her now and I am 4+ MONTHS pregnant!!! But 5 weeks!?!? She must be having twins!!?!

Gotta go get ready for work now..boo hoo...but I do get paid today...Yeah!...so clothes shopping in H&M mamma today for some new gear now that the weather is getting worse! I do love winter clothes!! And dd is kipping at her grandmas tonight so I don't need to rush home, Yeah me!

Also I was 22 when I had dd and will be 28 when I have this bubba number 2....

Catch up soon..
Jess 18 weeks tomorrow! It's flying by now!

firsttimemummy · 18/08/2006 09:23

LOL hello all, blimey dont you lot talk alot, GREAT!! lol anyways... i dont have any inlaws (they died when my bf was young)
and i am going to town today to get loadsa lolly pops GONNA STOP SMOKING!!
wish me luck all

Dragonhart · 18/08/2006 10:10

God Luck with the lolli pops - hope they work for you. A friend of mine who was a 20 a day smoker stopped because she felt SOOO sick she couldn't face it and when she started to feel ok, she said that the worst was over. Guess there are some uses for morning sickness!

I agree with the interfereing with the house Jess. My MIL and FIL live quite far away so when they come to stay it is for a week. I am not the tidiest of mothers and they spend the whole time 'helping' by rearranging things, digging up my garden and 'trimming' lots of things I have been trying to grow and throwing things away I am trying to keep. Last time they came FIL burnt a load of my receipts behind the shed to 'help' but burnt all the ones for clothes DS had as presents that dont fit. Grrr! Wouldn't mind but I am totally paranoid about shreding so even if I had been about to throw them away, they would have been sorted and shreded!! As you say, I wouldn't dare go to theor house and start throwing things away! Sorry that sounds rather pathetic doesn't it. Why do I remember all these silly little arguments?

Me and DH felt proper movements last night!!! Havent felt any before and was getting really paranoid as I am over 19weeks now. Had decided that I would try not to worry til 20 weeks or the scan next week so was really relieved last night. Cried too. So emotional though, also cried when DH left the light on downstairs and I had to get up to turn it off (WTF?).

Loubie37 · 18/08/2006 10:22

Hi everyone

Just a quickie. Sorry I've not been around for a while but I've not been very well....I've been off sick from work all week with dizzy spells, it's horrible!

Anyway, just wanted to say a quick hello as we're off on our hols today so I won't be online for 2 and a bit weeks I had a sneaky look at the weather in the South of France yesterday and it's lovely - 33 degrees and bright sunshine!! Just what the doctor ordered

I hope everyone is well and that your bumps are coming along nicely

Take care, seee you all on the 5th

Loubie xx

Mrsworry · 18/08/2006 11:17

Morning ladies

How are we all feeling?

Right now a quick question. Is anyone else finding it incredibly difficult to get comfortable in bed at night to sleep? I am 16 + 3 today and hardly showing at all (just a small swelling of the stomach) but am finding it soooo difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep in. My mum bought me a v-shape pillow thing for bf'ing and to sleep on which is helping but I didn't think I would get uncomfortable like this until I was bigger?

Any views/help welcome!

Dragonhart · 18/08/2006 11:39

Have a good holiday Loubie, hope it is relaxing. xxx

Mrsworry - I have started to get really uncomfortable in bed too, but in my experience it only gets worse!! Sorry not to be more reasuring.

Ahh the joys of being pregnant.

Hattie2 · 18/08/2006 12:01

Hello everyone - just back from hols, so nice and relaxed at the moment (trying to make the most of it as I'm sure it won't last!).

Feeling lots of movement from bump, but only from about 11pm onwards, hope I'm not expecting a night owl! Think we were spoilt with dd1 as from 2 weeks old she was waking just once a night and slept through from 6 weeks. I can count on one hand the number of times she's got me up in the night since then as well. Everybody tells me we can't possibly be so lucky with the second one!

Just had a quick flick through the posts for the last couple of weeks - nice to read about second scans and people finding out the sex, very exciting!

Got on the scales after the hols and it was a mistake - I have put on a stone already . Some of it is no doubt down to the Cornish ice cream and clotted cream and other holiday treats but I didn't think I'd been that bad. Anyone else dared to get on the scales yet?

Hattie2 · 18/08/2006 12:04

MrsWorry - yes, I'm v uncomfortable in bed as well. Pain in hips as well as bump getting in the way. Have tried various types of pillow but most effective seems to be a normal pillow just under the bump or between legs. Unfortunately, as dragonhart said, it only gets worse

firsttimemummy · 18/08/2006 12:17

Mrs Worry~ i too am finding it very hard getting comfy at night im finding the best way is like Hattie2 said i put a normal pillow between my legs and a little square cushion under bump, try it for a night see if it helps
its not just the getting comfy at night im finding awkward though, its waking every hour or so aswell, either needing the loo or just waking! weird really cause im such a heavy sleeper normally lol oh well, must just be preparing me for waking nights with bubs i suppose
love to all Lisa x

firsttimemummy · 18/08/2006 12:20

theUrbanDryad · 18/08/2006 16:56

hey all....well i've calmed down some since yesterday...what a massive rant! i've been really good and didn't have any brie; really wanted pate and stilton and stuff as well, it's so hard staying off all my favourite foods! i'm finding pate a lot harder to give up than smokes wierd or what?

firsttimemummy, i'm due on 9th if you go by my 11 week scan, or 16th if you go by my LMP. i'm hoping it's going to be an early bird though...(confession time) i'm already getting a teensy bit bored of being pregnant!

here's a wierd pregnancy sympton for y'all...i've noticed i've become really really gobby lately. i nearly got in a fight with a fat horrible skanky trampy chav outside mcdonalds today cause i saw her just drop her cheeseburger wrapper! i hate people who drop litter, winds me up more than anything! then when i was walking home with my friend who has a small baby in a buggy and we nearly got run over by some stupid man on a bike (who was on the pavement!) and i yelled after him "there are roads y'know!" i mean, i think morally i was right in all these incidents, but before i would've just kept my mouth shut...now it's like i have verbal dirrohea, it just comes spilling out before i can help myself! i'm sure i'm going to get myself into some horrible trouble and get glassed by a horrible chav. i got called a dirty greebo as well, which made me laugh my ass off - haven't been called that since school!

oh, it feels good to let that steam off! my dad came out of hospital today - hooray! they still don't know what's wrong with him, but hopefully he'll start getting better now. the food in there is awful - he has lost another 4lbs in one week through being in hospital! this is a man who is 5'11", and weighed 8.5st BEFORE going into hospital! not good...

anyway, hope you're all well...it's sunny here so i'm happy

Nemo1977 · 18/08/2006 17:00

blimey ladies you can really chat..when I dont get a chance to catch up it takes ages to read and then I cant remember what I have read

Not a lot going on here nearly 19wks and I think I can feel baby moving again but like LTH said am really not believing it instead putting it down to trapped wind or something..lol

laughalot · 18/08/2006 17:24

My brains mush at the mo

LadyTophamHatt · 19/08/2006 08:11

Morning girls, I'm obviously getting over the excessive worrying stage because I had some really weird spotty yesterday. I'm assuming it was the polyp thingy again because the baby was moving around quite abit yesterday morning (DH even felt it) so he/she must have dislodged some more of the old mucky stuff.

It was really wierd stuff though.....TMI alert...TMI alert....my discharge is really heavy ATM, really really heavy and it was mostly more of that but the old blood had obviously mixed with it so the discharge was just a darkish beige colour. It had stopped by midmorning. I've got a slight case of thrush again too and thsi happened the last time I had it.

Now I'm not sure what to do. I didn't call the MW yesterday because A) we were going out for the day and B) there wouldn't be anything they could do/tell me that they didn't do/say last time.
The baby hasn't been really active since but then he/she isn't really active anyway. I don't feel it loads normally, the movement yesterday wer more unusual TBH so I'm not that overly concerned (well, abit concerned because my name is LTH and I worry about naturally grown plums)

It's stopped now(well, yesterday, as I said) so do you think I should call the MW today?

laughalot · 19/08/2006 10:44

Lth I woulnt worry to much if its all stopped like you say it happened last time I would just ring mw if you get any pains. I seem to have alot of discahrge this time which I never had with my ds so I was concerened a couple of weeks back but all you lovely ladies put my mind at rest.

laughalot · 19/08/2006 10:45

Ftm ha ha you are losing it welcome to the world of never getting your brains back
