hello all - just coming on to have a moan really! feel crappy today, tired and fat and horrible and keep thinking how am i going to survive another 17 weeks like this! When i was preg with my DD i felt great nearly the whole time but this time already feeling sorry for myself.

what is it with wedding and people dying - my FIL died 2 weeks before our wedding and we had to bury him on the Monday and get married on the Saturday so emotions were running very high. I heard an awful story the other day where one of the parents died in between the church and the reception which must have been just awful.

right moaning over!

elliepippamummy · 19/09/2006 11:17

Becks thats awful. Sorry to hear you are feeling cruddy have to say I have been like that this time think it may be because I am running around after DD etc where when I was pg with her I could relax and chill out a bit. When people are asking when is it due I dont even give the date just 15 weeks on friday as Im counting down already which is a shame since this will be the last time I am ever pregnant (I Hope!!!!)

On a positive note DH got all newborn and 0-3 month stuff out of loft so as its a nice day I have washed it all and its blowing on my line which puts a smile on my face to see all those little vests/sleepsuits I'd forgotten how small they were!

Ok so floam was not at all what i expected, I am thinking what a great xmas pressie it would be for little nieces.
Laughalot, what it is about men and their lousy timing? I couldn't think of a more bad mood moment then on the way back from Ikea with a car seat wedged in your bump.
Becks, I too am feeling like a heavy barrel today, and completely knackered. So much for 'glowing'.

JaneNZ · 19/09/2006 11:22

I want to add to becks' moan and say to all those people that don't stand up on the tube when you see my big fat pregnant belly - and to those that do then thank you very much. How rude some people are!

As for feeling huge - I made a pile of all the clothes I can't fit the other day and all the ones I can and I have got about 4 things left. Suppose it is an excuse to go shopping

Hope everyone is well

jessddibs · 19/09/2006 12:56

Lol! Sorry, didn't think to explain what floam was. Dd loves it and it's about £3-5 a pot depending where it's purchased from, but I would definatley reccomend it for xmas pressies. The floam spellings worked for a while, but I have now found that spelling them aloud whilst walking to school and sounding them out in silly voices etc is working...but doesn't help with the handwriting?!?! May venture back to the bribes..but make them bigger if she gets a 5 out of 5 score perhaps!?!

Glad most of you had a good weekend

Can someone let me know when the babybump spread is released in First magazine??? Don't live right near a newsagents so have to make a special trip and my subscrition dosn't start till 27th. Thankyou.

No more news i think..
catch you all later

Feeling crappy here too, but probably because ds was up from 1.30 to 5am last night I've had a nap this afternoon while ds napped, so I probably won't sleep tonight, lol!
I think I'm also getting back to the point where people just look shocked when I tell them how far I am - like how can you still have that long to go, you're huge! I hated it last time, and don't like it any better now. My parents got back from a fortnight away and dm said "you're looking big" and I just snapped and said "well I'll lose it when I give birth, what's your excuse?!" Should not have said that, but I just seem to be getting it every day right now and it's getting under my skin.
Oh sounds like ds is awake, better go get him... Maybe tomorrow I'll start to bloom...!

Hattie2 · 19/09/2006 22:17

I like that one 2happy - will try and remember that for the next "are you sure there's only on in there" comment I get!

I wish it would get colder, I'm fed up of wearing the same things over and over again and all my maternity clothes from last pregnancy are winter ones.

epmummy - I like the idea of seeing little vests on the washing line. Think I'll send dh up in the loft this weekend

becks5109 · 20/09/2006 10:38

Thanks for the support ladies - am feeling much much better today had fish and chips for tea last night was was in bed by 9.30 so feel much better. DD is having nightmares at the moment but is was DH's turn to go into her last night. Am also out to dinner with my NCT friends tonight so looking forward to that.

elliepippamummy · 20/09/2006 10:43

Hi is anyone else having problems with mumsnet today I can get into conversations but only by clicking active conversations at the top if i go to talk area and then select antenatel clubs or another subject I get this message

java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'and topicid != 2601 and topicid = 2290 order by lastpost desc' at line 1

Hattie2 · 20/09/2006 13:43

Sorry, no ideas. Seems to be working OK for me.

elliepippamummy · 20/09/2006 14:25

apparently it was a tech issue as emailed mumsnet all fixed now! We are bored as friends were meant to be here at 1 to play and they keep phoning to say they are running late dont know whether its worth them coming now as time getting on. Wouldnt mind if they'd said this morning so I could have gone to swings or something with DD but they didnt even ring till 1.15 and dd keeps asking where they are as she has been in all day!!!!

OP posts:
elliepippamummy · 21/09/2006 13:53

very quiet on here this week, is it just me or is anyone else still really knackered I often get to lunchtime and when dd has half an hour snooze I join her.

Nesting still going on here today I have washed all the cot bedding and sorted all the clothes I washed and ironed the other day into the right sizes and they are in the nursery chest of drawers and shock I have started sorting bits for my hospital bag (mainly because toiletries I use were on bogof so put the free one away ready and bought some newborn nappoes as they were on offer!!!!)

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2006 13:58

core blimey ellie You are making me feel tired with your prep..am completely un prepared this time..lol Always tired and drained so cant be bothered. Doesnt help that am measuring 3 wks bigger and feel like a whale..DD in hospital again last night with breathing so just seem to jump from one event to the next. At least DS is happy and keeping out of trouble..lol

carrotcake · 21/09/2006 14:57

Yes, same here, haven't done a thing in terms of preparation, everything else is so hectic I would forget I was pregnant if I wasn't so tired. In fact, someone asked if I wanted the cot back that I'd given them, I said no thanks, almost adding why would I need a cot? Of course I will need a cot. I asked them to keep it for now!

Sorry to hear about your trip to hospital, nemo, hope your dd is feeling better today.

2Happy · 21/09/2006 15:03

Knackered here too, but it doesn't help that I seem to magic kids into not sleeping. Had a terrible night with ds on Monday, and was due on a course in Edinburgh on wed, so decided to stay tues night with dsis, and out of the blue, her dd refused to sleep! It's me! I must give out anti-sleep vibes or something!! Agh!
Sorry about your dd, nemo, I hope she's better today.
We're over 600 messages - surely time for a new thread! C'mon, let's nominate thread titles and cheer ourselves up! (or maybe that should be the new emoticon !!)

JaneNZ · 21/09/2006 15:43

Some suggestions for new thread titles:

  1. Backaches from hell
  2. Monster swollen ankles
  3. Outie belly-button time
  4. Sex - are you kidding me?
elliepippamummy · 21/09/2006 16:38

JaneNZ I like no 4 on your list definatley whats going (or not going on) in our house. Cant beleive we are going onto part 4 soon I might print all te threads one day and pit them in this babys memory book so in years to come she'll be able to read all about my pg.

Nemo sorry to hear about your DD hope shes feeling better soon, read your other thread about sizing hopefully it'll sort itself out.

Glad I am not the only one feeling kanckered think I bloomed for both my pg last time and this time its just miserable and counting down till the big day. Forgot to say we have booked a 4d scan for the 25th october !!

looshkin · 21/09/2006 17:15

Hello all, have been reading everyone elses replys but have not had the energy to actaully post so sorry for the lurking. Wow have the energy levels dropped in the last week and blimey the backache - seem to be waddling like old woman. But enough of the complaining well not quite - the jeans finally arrived from JMB but too small aaarrghhhhhh have sent back in a big huff also started to alter our study into a nursery this week but some over vigorous wallpaper removal on behalf of DH has brought one wall down - a very nice man is fixing it as we speak - house full of plaster dust bits of computer and paper/study stuff no where to put it all -bugger.

Sorry to hear about poorly sons and daughters and lack of sleep feel rather guilty for moaning when only have 2 cats and a DH to think about and Dh has been super apart from destroying nursery wall.

Most positive thing this week is the arrival of tumble dryer - no more socks on radiators/in cats beds and a sub tropical atmosphere to the house where has this been all my life!!!!!!

Anyhow next week should be better we hope - i would be happy with any of the new thread titles particualry 1 - have resorted to boucing on top of birthing ball as seems to help but this does nothing for no4 as just look like a whale bobbing up and down. Looshkin.

lulu25 · 21/09/2006 18:00

I have invested in an item called a "maternity belt" which seems to be helping with the backache. It is, however, worryingly unattractive, and will not do anything for No4 (or at least I would be very distressed if it did).

jessddibs · 21/09/2006 18:41

Well I have a moan to add to the thread. I had my consultant appointment today and my bp is already up a bit, so I have got to be seen at the hospital for obs and blood every two weeks. It is such a pain because the clinic runs on thurs only, the day that I work and no I can't change my day as all us girls job share and nobody can swap a day with me due to childcare arrangments. I still get paid, but feel guilty to boss and actually like being at work for the gossip! The hospital is not the easiest place for me to get to and they always run late etc, was there from 2.15 till 4.10pm today! Well, I just need to keep my fingers crossed that I don't run into any problems and get worse. Dh is self-employed and can't afford to be fulltime carer for dd if I get admitted to hospital again...nightmare. Gotta stay calm and relax! Yeah right! Hope all is going ok for everyone else, I needed that moan, sorry!

2Happy · 21/09/2006 19:08

Try this for size...!

theUrbanDryad · 21/09/2006 19:31

hi all - sorry not posted for a while, not had internet access for what seems like ages! also been very busy with wedding preparation and stuff...can't believe i'm getting married a week tomorrow!! seems like madness! i'm sure it's just pre-wedding nerves but i am getting MAJOR cold feet. not about DP (still love him to bits, bless him) but just generally about the wedding. he's been quite poorly lately, with ear infections (and also pre-wedding nerves) and i'm just really hoping we're ok for the actual day.

i've been having almost constant headache, in varying degrees of severity, from pounding migraine, to slight twinge...also been having weird fainting/dizzy spells. probably just the unseasonal heat, but i'm hoping i don't keel over on the wedding day!

anyway, hope you are all well. i'm very jealous of whoever it was having a 4D scan....can you post the pics? we wanted one but they're exceedingly expensive, and there isn't one near us. also loving this new emoticon.........

Finding the homebirth threads really useful as that's what I am aiming for, although impossible to say as I've now idea how much pain I can take (or rather can't take).
