posyparker · 14/09/2006 12:08

Well according to that mine will be a boy, although it was wrong about DD1 and right about DD2. I think mine definitely wants to remain a surprise!

theUrbanDryad · 14/09/2006 12:49

hmm....sometimes they're just stubborn little beans! (although mine's a badger now...)

lulu25 · 14/09/2006 13:20

It got mine wrong (said girl, having boy). I was thinking there might be some link with the time of year - it was around Easter so maybe chocolate gives you boys.

MrsPeacock · 14/09/2006 14:10

Hello Ladies,
Been lurking for a while with no post.
All these pink bumps! Congratulations to everybody who has found out! Like 2happy I didn't find out, but just did the chinese gender thing and its says girl! I think I'd like a boy though, although this is my first we have too many girls in my family a little boy would be a nice change.

I am trying not to worry...
...BUT, I had a check up with my MW on Tuesday, adn the routing urine test came back +++glucose. They took some more blood to test properly, but I am really scared of gestational diabetes. I was already frightened enough about the birth but now am worried this baby will be a monster! Does anyone know how reliable the urine tests are? I am trying to be calm and not think about it till the blood results are back, but pregnant woman not worrying, what kind of crazy talk is this??

  • Sorry my last post was a panic too!
theUrbanDryad · 14/09/2006 14:28

i think even if it IS gestational diabetes, it's fairly treatable isn't it? and aren't ALL kids monsters?

just been looking at the "what was the naughtiest thing you ever did al school" thread. very very funny indeed...

elliepippamummy · 14/09/2006 14:44

My friend had GD with bth preganancies her DD was 7lb and arrived on time and this time she is due in 2 weeks but baby is around 7lb so neither were huge se just has to control what she eats and take injections. It could just be that you had consumed alot of sugar before test and gave abnormal result think this is why they do blood test as well. Hope all goes okay.

I am so bored today DD driving me mad as wants every toy out but doesnt actually want to play with anything so I have given in and put CBeebies on as I cant listen to her winge and moan anymore today (also given her spoon of nurofen as back teeth are cutting and think they must be playing up, its days like today that make me wonder why I ever decided a small age gap would be good!!!)

elliepippamummy · 14/09/2006 14:50

Quite funny when we text friends to say all was ok and we knew but werent telling had 3 phone last night trying o trick me into telling them!

OP posts:
theUrbanDryad · 14/09/2006 15:24

yeah same here EPM....my parents don't want to know, so that's easy, but my best friends are still convinced it's a girl. because i'm so spotty apparently (aren't they nice?!)...but i know what i saw on that scan, and they were definite dangly bits...

MrsPeacock · 14/09/2006 16:31

Thank you elliepippa, its little facts like that that help, its why I posted here afterall; a bit of reassurance, 7lb doesn't sound so scary.

Do girls make you more spotty? I personally am still waiting for my glowing phase, with mythical great hair and skin and shed loads of energy. I am still feeling knackered - which according to my MIL this means its a boy.

2Happy · 14/09/2006 16:56

Mrs Peacock, if my ds scare-story tells you anything, it's that it's the way they come that causes the problems! Someone at work had her first baby this summer 18 days late! and she was over 10lb (without diabetes!), but delivered normally. So if EPM says you can have 7lbers with GD, and this lass delivered a 10+lber... it'll be a breeze (or something! )
EPM - it must be something in the air, ds has been a horror today. He was awake from 12.30 to after 3.30am last night, and is overtired and tetchy today - so I'm getting a good idea of what it's going to be like up with new baby, looking after toddler. Whimper!
UD - two weeks only! That's flown by (well, maybe not for you, lol!). I felt a bit wobbly at times but when I took the stress of the wedding away and reminded myself I was marrying the man I would anyway spend my life with even if I didn't marry, I stopped wobbling. Then mil opened her mouth again and....
Kaylasmum - nice to hear from you again, and congrats on the boy!

laughalot · 14/09/2006 17:04

Hi girls let me tell you about my nighmare day, well woke up with cystitis and its my day at work so felt right crappy, got to work have been drinking loads of cranberry juice and barley water so havent stopped weeing all day went to loo about lunch time and there was some blood , had to rush of to doctors baby is fine the blood is to do with the cystitis and now on antibiotics. I feel so drained with regards to the chinease gender thingy mine says boy but hospital scan says girl all I can say is if it is a boy he has teeny weeny bits and bobs as we dident see any on the scan .

2Happy · 14/09/2006 17:11

laughalot hope you feel better soon (oops! I just typed by mistake, an unintentionally accurate typo, lol!)

MrsPeacock · 14/09/2006 17:40

Thanks again ladies,
I am sorry you all seem to be having a hard time with todlers and various other medical mishaps - poor laughalot, makes me feel like a proper whinger!

Honestly I am not normally this rubbish, I am looking forward to contributing positive things to this thread from now on.

elliepippamummy · 14/09/2006 19:40

Mrs Peacock this wouldnt be a due in jan thread without at least 3 of us worrying or moaning about something!!!

2Happy hows your son now DD went to bed at 6.45 had a bit of a moan but another spoon of nurofen and a cuddle and she is happily snoring, she goes to my MIL tomorrw as I work mondays and fridays so I get a day off her (yipee!!!)( booked to have a luxery pedicure in my lunch hour to cheer myself up!!

laughalot · 15/09/2006 21:20

Enjoy the wedding ell

theUrbanDryad · 15/09/2006 22:25

hiya all....laughalot, i think seeing blood when pregnant is always scary, but i'm glad you're ok. cystitis is no fun though...does it feel like you're pissing razor blades? i had cystitis just before i found out i was pregnant earlier in the year, took sodium something or other, then found out you're not supposed to take that when pregnant and panicked! not like me at all!!

well, we're at PIL's in surrey this weekend. all MIL wants to do is talk about cakes and flowers and stuff. BORING! i think she just showed DP a ring she wants him to give me, cause it was her mother's or something, but it's platinum and diamond, quite ostentatious, not really my style at all. still, i guess the thought's there.

DP is talking to his ex online. i'm not getting jealous, honest i'm not. well, maybe a bit. but i talk to my ex's, so i shouldn't start. plus, she's in manchester and we're in dorking, so i doubt it'll do any harm. bet he's telling her what a moody cow i am at the moment!!

LadyTophamHatt · 15/09/2006 22:58

I need to go to bed but I think this small person inside me is possibly breakdancing

As you know this is baby No4 and this morning i was woken up by the breakdancing going on in there.....I've never been woken up by movements before and although it was only 6am it was FAB

LadyTophamHatt · 15/09/2006 22:59

Are we in the 3rd trimester yet btw??

I've forgotton when it starts again....

theUrbanDryad · 15/09/2006 23:10

think the third trimester starts at week 28? i could be wrong....blimey LTH i would've thought that by number 4 you'd remember!!

well, i'm getting more and more pissed off at dp...trying to get him to look at a BRAND NEW ikea cot on eBay, all new mattress etc, in leicester so not far from us. it's only £29.99 and i don't think we would get it cheaper. oh no, he's too interested talking to his stupid ex in manchester to look at a potential cot for his child......

god i am sounding like a right troll aren't i? just hate being down here. it's so bloody rural. now he's on about staying down here longer tomorrow. think i may get train back.

theUrbanDryad · 15/09/2006 23:12

also, i have really crappy heartburn and the gaviscon is at home (despite the fact that i asked him to bring it) and they don't have any here, and we're miles away from the nearest chemist and i shouldn't think they've even heard of a bloody 24hr garage......grump grump grump.....

LadyTophamHatt · 16/09/2006 07:48

Urban....I have trouble remebering my own name at times, there is no way I;d remeber when the 3rd trimester starts

LOL...yesterday the postie put a letter through our door that wasn't our name, I said to Dh it for next door so he wnet to pop it through the door.
He asked me which side it was for and I said "Well anne is no46 so it must be the other side"

The bloody letter was for No44....which is our house. Dh hadn't really looked at the letter just took my word for it that it wasn't for us.

Is there any hope me??

If you're at the In-laws in Dorking you could go to ikea in croydon(we used to live near that one). Ok it would be Hell on earth today, and I would fear for my life and sanity going to any Ikea on a saturday but you might come away un-harmed and with a few bargains.

I only said might though!!

theUrbanDryad · 16/09/2006 10:52

hmm...i kinda just want to get out of surrey. the middle-class daily mail-reading attittudes are seeping into me. i can feel them....KEEP HUNTING!! argh!! what's happening to me???

(apologies to all you daily mail reading pro-hunters out there...)

well we went to choose the flowers, wasn't too bad except i was awake at half five. went for a walk around the garden (or "the grounds" as MIL puts it.....so pretentious!!) and saw a load of muntjack deer, which was cool.

anyway, will stop rambling now....LTH sounds like your brain's leaked out your ears love! so was the letter for you after all?

laughalot · 16/09/2006 12:49

Lol urban iv got to go to ikea tomorrow think I may kill someone if its busy . Yep blood is scary in pregnancy but all is fine antibiotics have worked and I now feel better. We have a wedding reception tonight cant wait for the buffet im always hungry at the moment. Well its nice of the mil to give your dp the ring for you but im in a naughty mood today why dont you sell it and buy he cot and then just say I sold it because you pissed me off a couple of weeks ago, actually dont listen to a bloody word im saying else I may be responsible for you not getting hitched .

Lth my son was the same when I was pg first time round but my dd is a lazy bum like her mummy. Lol at the letter what did your dh say ?
