The letter was for our house, just the prev occupants. We moved here in January so I've had 9 month to get used to my new address....God I'm losing it I think.

Dh just laughed at me while shaking his head

Bloody sleep deprivation isn't helping much either. Ds3 keeps waking up at about 6am(often before that too) and wants to get up, Dh is a train driver so works all sorts of hours and has been finishing way passed midnight this week.
So I have to get up at stupid o'clock with ds3....so I'm knackered all day but by the time I've got dinner on, fed and bathed them and then got the kids to bed I'm wide awake again.

Turned the light off at 11:50pm last night, so with the tiolet trips and uncomfortable matress I probably got 5 hours sleep.
Just like last night...and the night before..etc etc.

All good practice I suppose(

theUrbanDryad · 16/09/2006 16:32

yeah, i had dp's cat (who still lives with the in-law's in surrey) attempting to sleep on my head last night. for some reason she just really loves me! also had mad dreams about dp telling his friend that i was a psycho (his ex has the same name as me, which is really annoying) and referring to me as "evil, psycho" which is how he usually refers to her. really upset me for some reason. woke up at half four this morning to find cat's paws in my eyes. got up. had smoke . what a treat. can't wait till we get home.

ooh...there appears to be an echo here....

Dragonhart · 16/09/2006 19:10

Mrspeacock, I had a couple of pos urine test for glucose last time, went for a blood test and everything was fine. They said I had prob eaten too many sweet things the days before the test. Must admit that the day before the last one I had eaten 3 mars bars (one king size!!).

Also there was a lady in my antenatal class who had gestational diabetes and she also had a 7lbs baby so def dont worry. xxx

Hope everyone is ok, I am fine, no news except that I went to get my DS his first shoes today and they said that as he wasnt walking properly, he should have 'cruising shoes'. I am desperate to encourage him to start walking as he is a big boy (he is over 28lbs at 13 months!) and it is getting pretty difficult to carry him around the house to change him and up and down the stairs. They measured his feet and he was a 5 1/2 G. They didnt do the softer shoes in his size so we have to wait til he is walking properly. Inherited his big flappy feet from my side of the family as his uncle is 6ft 8 and a size 14!

LadyTophamHatt · 16/09/2006 19:19

Blimey DHart, your 13 month old weighs more than my 3 yr old!

His feet are only 1 size smaller too.

Do you know I'd love this baby to be a bit hefty chunk.
All 3 ds's have been really titchy (although reasonable birth weights)so I've never had a baby with chunky thighs...you knwo the thighs ones with big creases, that look like theres really tight elastic band around them.

My ds's have all had thin little chicken legs.

LadyTophamHatt · 16/09/2006 19:20

...not calling your Ds a big hefty chuck though.

Dragonhart · 16/09/2006 19:27

He does have hefty thighs and elbows but he is very tall rather than fat IYSWIM. He wasnt too big when he was born (8lbs 7, quite normal considering I am 6ft and my 5ft 2 friend had a 10 pounder!) butvery long and has never stopped growing prob as he never stops eating! Quite worried actually that people will think he is a bit backwards as he is so big for his age! Poor boy!!

LadyTophamHatt · 16/09/2006 19:33

awwww bless him.

My 3 yr old is really titchy.
Someone said to me the other day "Ohhh they're lovely at that age aren't they??...He's about 18-19 months isn't he??"

"Ummm no he's 3 next week"

She was gobsmacked.

Me and Dh are both short arses so it would be rather odd to have huge kids.
I just want those lovely chunky thighs on a my own baby...

Dragonhart · 16/09/2006 19:37

Likewise if we had a small boy! Have to say we both like our food too so not surprising!

theUrbanDryad · 16/09/2006 19:47

my brother is 6'8" and only wears size 12's. i've always wondered how he doesn't fall over. i mean, surely if you're that tall, you need a firm base? like a skyscraper....

the funniest thing is that his wife is 4'10".

Dragonhart · 16/09/2006 20:35

Gosh Urban! Have they had children?! Told my brother that I pity the woman that has his children as they will be MASSIVE!

lulu25 · 17/09/2006 08:49

Heh LTH I am with you on the hefty baby thing - I would like to see great HAMS on mine.

2Happy · 17/09/2006 10:43

Looshkin's dneice has thighs like those, I remember her saying she has sort of double knees with skin folds, lol! We saw a teeny tiny baby at the shops yesterday, developmentally he looked maybe a couple of months old, but the mother was really small so the baby's size made him look like he'd been born yesterday. I couldn't tear my eyes away from this newborn-looking baby, turned to dh to see he was exactly the same - we were both thinking....come January.... Made ds look like a right lump in comparison!
We bought ds cruisers, DH, but they were totally pointless. Besides, the cost of shoes for kids! Definitely save your money!
UD - go shoot some pheasants, you know you want to Oh and our cats always get over-familiar when I'm pg. There was a thread on MN a bit ago, it's quite common, don't know why. It eases the more big and active the baby gets IIRC - turns out the cats like getting booted as much as our bellies!
LTH - does pregnancy brain scramble get worse with successive pregnancies?!
Right, I will not spend all morning on MN, I've got some curtains to make!

magnolia1 · 17/09/2006 11:18

I have a cold

Went out for dinner etc... with mums from school last night and felt like shit but still stayed out till 1am. Got home but felt shit so layed on Sofa, Dh came down at 4am with the raving hump and basically said this morning he reckoned I got in at 4am but pretended I had been there since 1!!!!

Stupid TWAT!!!! Showed him a text I had sent friend at 1.35am saying I was home etc.... That shut him up!!!!

To top it off I feel even more shitty today and he thinks its coz I went out so no sympathy

Wait till the f%*ker is ill

Sorry rant over

jessddibs · 17/09/2006 16:19

Well, sorry to here that your sunday is so crap magnolia. I hate it when 'men' give out no sympathy what so ever, especially when you wasn't even getting really p**d up, so couldn't even have a hangover if you wanted one! Are you not meant to go out?! To be honest though, I am being really lazy and probably ignorant because I am not even bothering to make the effort to go out in the first place! I am at my happiest in my trackie bottoms in front of some good tv with some munchies! I think my 'non pregnant friends may be getting a little annoyed now though! I did actually have two glasses of wine last night and felt quite merry..... but then woke up in the night feeling sick....felling a bit guilty today....

Decided now that I am going to be 'healthy' this week, try hard to eat my 5 fruit/veg everyday and include all the other things we are meant to eat...and not the things we are not! Started today with 'brown' toast, then had seabass + veg, apple crumble + custard....not to bad a start

Trying to get dd to practice spellings at the mo and my patience is wearing very thin......any advice on the best way to go about it!!!?? dd is just sulking, sighing, huffing, moaning...the list goes on....bribes don't work either...tried that one already..lol

LadyTophamHatt · 17/09/2006 17:04

2happy, my problem is that I've never let my brain recover before falling PG again, ds1 was 16 months when I fell for ds2, ds2 was 17 months when I fell for ds3, although ds3 was 2.5yrs I really feel there really is no hope for me this time
The letter incident confirms it I think

Lulu

carrotcake · 17/09/2006 19:26

Jdibs, my ds used to really struggle with spellings and we ended up doing them in clay/plasticine each week. He found that more fun and seemed to remember them more easily....

I have been horrible to everyone today, mean to kids, completely scathing over dp's attempts to cook dinner, and then burst into tears over the roast pork. They all just stared at me as I blubbed that I didn't deserve any dinner, completely out of character. Sigh. Watching tv with something and custard this evening I think.

jessddibs · 17/09/2006 19:34

Thanks for the tip carrotcake, dd is into floam at the mo, so we could use that. Will let you know how we get on!

MrsPeacock · 18/09/2006 13:03

Hi,
Thanks Dragonhart, after the scary urine test I have found out that apparently pregancy causes you to have glucose in your wee now and again, something to do with these pesky hormones, still waiting on the results of the blood, although they won't get in touch if there is not a problem - nothing like putting your mind at rest, now I am panicing the letter might get lost in the post!
Urban, I hope you have survived the weekend without too many cat/MIL attacks. DH and I did the Ikea thing TWICE last week, it is a whole lot of pain for the bargains though. We wanted a chest of drawers that the top flips down as a changing table, but it turns out the ones that were left were on the shelf above in the warehouse and they won't bring a fork lift in during open hours so we had to go back another day (so close but so far away!). DH was beginning to loose it completely it took two icecreams and all the pencils he could squirrel in my handbag to calm him down. Its not for the faint hearted, if you live close enough (and prepare yourself with a cheeky power nap in the afternoon) try going in the evenings they are open now till midnight!!! But it is generally alot quieter in the weekday evenings which takes some of the pain away.
Jessddibs, what on earth is floam? It sounds discusting!
Everyone else take care, good luck with another week!

carrotcake · 18/09/2006 18:58

Yes, what is floam, sme kind of mouldable foam?

laughalot · 18/09/2006 19:02

Mrs p floam is the thing to have, well so someone told me at work the other day yet we just got into a deep conversation about it then a customer walked in how rude I mean fancy coming into a travel agents to get a holiday cant you tell im ready for leaving and I only work 2 days . So the moral of the story is I dont know what it is but its the new craze......

Ell hope the wedding went well the one we went to was a bit sad as the brides gran died on the orning of the wedding so it was a bit sad all round but spirits were kept high, I was no a happy bunny though drinking coke all night.

Let me tell you all as well about my nightmare trip to ikea on sunday we wanted a big picture for our kitchen as we have just had a new one, well got up bright and early got there bright and early and it was rammed with people bought the picture and its one of time square in america it is massive got to the car and guess what it wouldnt fit in dh put the seats down in the back chucked ds car seat out good job we dident have him with us, eventually we squeezed it in but had to have car seat on my lap I was fuming and mega pi**ed of by this stage and then my dh drops a bombshell !!!!!!!! on the 10th october he is going on a free cruise holiday with work the percs of being a manager in a travel agents......... I was so angry that he told me sunday and he had known on the friday apparently he wanted to catch me in a good mood I think coming back form ikea with the car seat on my knee probably wasnt the best time. I cant moan when I was full time I had some fab freebies through work including the cruise that he is going on which makes me mad because I know how nice it is I bet the poor fella just wants peace for a week

Right I SHALL BE QUIET NOW hope you are all well

claire xx

laughalot · 18/09/2006 19:04

saltcod · 18/09/2006 20:43

This is Floam

elliepippamummy · 18/09/2006 20:44

Laughalot poor you not the best timing in the world!¬ Moan away thats what we are here for.

Wedding went well DD actually walked up the aisle was extra well behaved in churc and took a real shine to the photographe who has taken over 80 shots with her in including some really nice ones of the 3 of us very natural photos of kids running around etc and hes sending me the cd rom with all her pictures free. DD made a new friend as one of the wedding guests had a little boy who was 3 and had downs but they went everywhere together until she flaked in her pushchair at 7.45! They were so cute.

Hope everyone is okay and how did the floam spellings go Jess?
