i really really want to do it....i love my pregnant body (although when i went swimming earlier my 9 year old godson pointed out that my tits were like flotation devices!)

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 17:16

hmmm....I thinking I gave a little to much info there.....

magnolia1 · 31/08/2006 18:05

Pregnancy is the only time I have tits!!!

theUrbanDryad · 31/08/2006 18:35

well i did it! they just phoned me back...the lady i spoke to was really really lovely!

the only thing is, she would like a 40-something to take part as well, and asked me if i would put a call out. they seem very very nice, my DP works with the press a lot and knows this particular magazine, says they're very reputable, so go on! if you're 40 and pregnant just do it! it'll be a real laugh!

magnolia what day is your shoot on? i'll try and get the same day...it'd be cool to meet you. if you want to meet me. wow, i sound like a crazy stalker type now don't i?

soooooo excited!!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 18:43

me too magnolia...I am loving the fact that I'm heaving out of this 34DD bra ATM.
I'm usually 34a!!

elliepippamummy · 31/08/2006 18:57

poppynic · 31/08/2006 19:33

Thanks guys for all your responses.

theUrbandryad - I really admire you and anyone who has a baby at home. I would love to do it but am just too scared. Although I'm deemed low risk I'm 40 and had shoulder dystocia last time (where the shoulders get stuck - which in my case was very straight forward and would have been even better if they'd let me stay on my hands and knees where I (unusually) felt I wanted to be - the b*) - but can be nasty). If I was a lot younger I might be brave enough (but then again maybe not.)
Being an ancient 40 I'd be interested in the photo shoot - if they give you a tart-up first - do they?) I'm certainly no glamourpuss (for some reason Magnolia sounds very glamourous to me) and am definitely showing signs of 4 years of light and broken sleep. (I think I'd book a wax for the garden myself). I heard on some tv programme about tips for being naked - some model-type woman's big tip was "always get a professional wax if you're going to be "seen"."
How do you get to "myspace"?.

Sredni - how do I see your other post?

I'm having my scan tomorrow. They say in the letter you can't take a young child with you or, if you do you have to take another adult. I'm planning to bowl up with just ds (4) and a big lollipop to keep him occupied... What are they going to do - kick me out?? Has anyone else done this?

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 20:21

Hang on urban I'll find it for you....

Nemo1977 · 31/08/2006 20:23

you must all be well glamorous if you want pics taking..lol I would gladly crawl under a rock until baby is born.

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 20:26

hmmmm...I've fpound it but I can't getthe picture back up.

I changed it to a random picture in my photos and I can't get it back....

magnolia1 · 31/08/2006 20:35

Urban I am doing Friday the 8th
Would love to meet you..... it will be like a mumsnet meet in the nuddy

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 20:37

here you go Urban....

I couldn't get the old one to work so in true attention seeking fashion I started at whole new one

firsttimemummy · 31/08/2006 20:48

thanks TUD lol i dont have any inlaws they died years ago

firsttimemummy · 31/08/2006 20:52

just wanted to tell you the names we have picked... for a girl its gonna be Erin cause my dad died of cancer in january and its an anogram or his name Ernie.. and a boy weve decided on Bradley cause thats the only name we can both agree on.

Nemo1977 · 31/08/2006 21:19

ooo Erin...really like that name..might mention it to dh. We so cant agree on names and with the baby being modest means we will spend the rest of pregnancy arguing over names..lol

LadyTophamHatt · 31/08/2006 22:05

If this one had been a gilr she would have been called Eliza....I love that name.

theUrbanDryad · 01/09/2006 09:41

poppynic - yes, they do give you a tart over first, they'll also airbrush out any imperfections (not that we gorgeous girls are anything but perfect, of course!)...DP is telling me to go for it cause he reckons it'll stop me whinging about how i never look like the girl in the magazine! yeah, right, like it will! if you want to look on myspace, my url is myspace.com/the_strange_place having said that, i can never get those links to work, so you might be better off cutting and pasting the link into your browser! oh, and choosing to have the baby (or 'badger' as it's now known, since he seems to have a stripe down his nose!) at home has nothing to do with being brave! quite the opposite in fact! i'm just more scared of having it in hospital! also, there's not even the slightest chance i would be doing at home if i couldn't have a prescription for pethidine beforehand!

i absolutely love erin as a name, it was one we thought about for a girl's middle name, except we liked elise better (that, and it always seemed to dance when i played beethoven's "fur elise"!)...at the moment we like zachary arthur....mainly cause with the initials it'll spell out ZAPS! which i think rocks!

el123456 · 01/09/2006 11:50

lth love your hair!by way am about 21wks and quite big already.never showed much with other 3.what u lot like??

theUrbanDryad · 01/09/2006 13:18

i've suddenly turned into a bit of a heifer! i was 9.5 stone (which was underweight, apparently!) and am now 11.5 ish. DP says he can't see any extra fat on me, but then he's contractually obliged to say things like that. plus, he's about a stone and a half overweight himself so he can't talk!

well, anyway, i read an article that said if you were underweight before getting pregnant then you might need to put on as much as 4 stone! so i'm not going to stop eating cake!
