looshkin · 30/08/2006 17:52

Hello to all on the Jan 07 club, I am new to all of this kind of thing soplease be gentle - by the way i am the friend of happy2 who has been lurking on the message boards. Sorry to hear that ds has been causing trouble hmm boys.
I am 22 weeks and finally starting to feel OK had hyperemesis for first 18 weeks - was prescribed stemetil which did help but have not needed for sometime so hopefully have turned a corner now much to dh relief as was becoming vv boring just lying in bed. Ooh dinner ready better go. Hope to be able to contribute to the board but first timer so may be a little hopeless.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 18:05

Well what a lovely welcome thank you. I am 29 first pregnancy and finding all these changes both physicaly and mentally a little alarming. Got a book yesterday on how to look after a baby as have no clue and rather disturbed by the feeding every 2-3 hrs if BF which I ma hoping to. I lukily have a lovely MIL, she is Peruvian so often cannot understand a word which I think helps, this wil be her second grandchild and she has been a little over excited with the first - I have a saint of a sister inlaw who did not bat an eyelid when MIL said it was not her baby but the family's!!! It is the way it is done over there. We live over an hour away so should be less intense. Was sorry to read about the various awful MILs so feel quite lucky really.

2Happy · 30/08/2006 18:42

HEY HEY!! Looshkin - like the name BTW! Well done (and well done your dh for making you post) and welcome to the thread! Keep posting now, no sliding back to lurkerville
Podmog - good luck tomorrow
UD - OMG we do have the same mil. Mine went spare over the ruddy cake. dh and I never even wanted one, then when we capitulated and said we'd have one she made the most almighty fuss because we wanted a nice little plain cake, and she wanted as many bows and frills as you can fit on a cake. But we definitely didn't do favours! And wow, thanks for all the info on sage. How do you know all this, it's fantastic! Do we have to steer clear of sage and onion stuffing at christmas time then?
LTH - congrats on the scan and another little boy! Are the other boys happy to be getting a brother?
KR - glad the scan went well
mrsfirsttimemummy - congrats to you and Mrfirsttimemummy! Glad it went well, and I hope you enjoy your honeymoon, even if you can't have the champers, sigh!
Well my birthday present finally arrived today (6 weeks after my birthday) and it is fab - a glider chair and stool. Supposedly for reading ds bedtime stories and bfing the next little one in, but frankly it's so comfy this is mummy's chair, to be found dozing in it for years to come, lol!

theUrbanDryad · 30/08/2006 18:52

i know all this cause i looked it up on google! but i also know a lot about herbs and folklore remedies cause i'm studying it at the moment, also my DP is a pagan (which i think is f*ckin hilarious!!!) and so he knows a lot about traditional remedies etc. i quite like the idea of having a brood of children about my feet, all in handmade clothes, with the kitchen full of yummy smells and a pot of soup on the stove. i made my first batch of bread today! maybe i will be a yummy mummy after all!

btw, sage & onion stuffing is fine, just don't start drinking too much sage tea...!

loosh - wish i couldn't understand my MIL....perhaps i could have a sudden attack of deafness? y'know, like the ones kids have when you tell them to tidy their rooms?

2Happy, your DH isn't called alistair is he? just checking we don't actually have the same MIL!!! xxx

magnolia1 · 30/08/2006 19:01

magnolia1 · 30/08/2006 19:03

Lth, posted on your other thread hun xxxx
Congratulations and I really think we should hook our kids up together, me with 4 girls and you with 4 boys would be mahem

2Happy · 30/08/2006 20:09

UD no dh is called Iain, but how can the world be big enough for two such similarly awful women?! Honestly, she has improved since the wedding became a distant memory (though it did take about a year for her to stop p*ing me off just by opening her mouth!). And dh definitely isn't a pagan, but maybe that'd be nice - stop him saying he needs antibiotics for every little sniffle, lol!

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 20:16

lth congrates on your blue bump..are you glad you found out???

hope everyone is ok am realy nervous as have scan at 10.30am tommorow..dont know why I am nervous though..lol

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 20:27

I'm really glad I found out, nemo. The sense of relief at knowing is huge.
I actually felt sick this morning with the nerves....I was scared of what my reaction would be. I knew I;d be upset but thought I'd be able to hold it together.

Needless to say I cried almost as soon as she told me. I asked her to look but not say anything until dh had left the room with the kids....I wanted to keep it a secret if I was having a girl, just me knowing. But my reaction gave it away instantly.

I'm ok now, I knew it wouldn't last long but am so so so glad I found out. I would have felt awful to feel like that with my new baby boy in my arms.

Now the hard parts starts....What in gods name do we call him??

Magnolia, I could teach you all you need to know about boys

magnolia1 · 30/08/2006 20:32

We are having Ben, but thought about:

Christopher
Matthew
Charlie
Fin
I also like Daniel but its too similar to one of the twins and Kieran but again to similar to the girls.

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 20:37

lol LTH what are your other boys called??
I am finding it hard to get names that go with our two plus that I like
at the min we have
Luke Alexander
or
Stephanie[not100% sure on this but dh loves it] Alexandra

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 20:37

meant to add we have a Adam and Hannah

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 20:37

DH has ruled out Charlie, and Ds3 has Finley as a middle name.

But TBH I want something a little more unusual this time.

We have a harry, a lewis and a james ATM(sod the annonimity of ds blah blah blah) so I want something totally different.

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 20:39

mmm how different???]
I like
Jonah
Zachary
Flynn
Jesse
connor
cameron
Alfie
Harrison

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 20:39

of course dh ruled all the below out..pmsl

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 20:51

ATM my favourites are Fraser and Logan.

Dh screws his nose up a both.

He suggested Tom or Tommy but all I hear is little tommy tucker...the dirty little F*cker when I think of that name so that sgot a definate NO from me.

skerriesmum · 30/08/2006 20:53

Ah, boys names... think we will go for Martin, after dh's favourite uncle. I love Shane, but dh hates it! (Our surname is Irish so we're a bit limited...)

magnolia1 · 30/08/2006 20:53

I will never be able to keep a straight face now if I meet someone called tommy!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 20:55

see....you're singing it now too, aren't you??

LadyTophamHatt · 30/08/2006 20:55

see....you're singing it now too, aren't you??

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 21:06

LTH dh would love you forever if you said Logan to him...lol He begged for ds to be logan and if dd had been a boy I conceded to Jacob Logan..lol
