Spirael I feel your pain. Stretching is so damned ODD feeling. Stupid 6ft DH and his stupid Bean with stupid long stupid legs ~shifts uncomfortably~

And kally yes I will be there! Consultant led so I'll be in the labour ward not the MLU, however I've not ever been there and I'm told they don't do yours any more for expectant mothers, so god only knows what I'll be like when I get there. I'm going to hassle them at about 36wks to let me waddle round. THEY CAN'T SAY NO, I'M SPECIAL (in the head, maybe)

kally195 · 06/03/2014 16:58

MrsFoo I going to do a dry run so I know where the hospital/MLU is. Not that me or OH will be driving, but I will feel better just knowing how to get there

Apparently there is a sneaky entrance round the back... Not sure if it is just for MLU or for the labour ward as well. As long as my iron goes back up it will it will it will then I will be MLU.

And I feel both you and Spirael's pain on the stretching - I am 5"9 and OH is 6"4 and this one appears to be on the lanky side....

Oh dear ladies, we're a bit of a mess. Thank God we've got each other! I've been getting teary all day too, and then getting cross with myself that:

a) I shouldn't be stressing about stuff that's out of my control and that won't matter at all as soon as I'm on mat leave
b) I should be grateful I'm not in agony, itching or having to inject/stab myself and/or avoid nice food due to diabetes, and my dh is generally being very good.

I have the natal hypnotherapy cds too so might do the relaxation one tonight to try and sort me out. Yoga helped last night and I felt much better again until this morning.

Big hugs to all - I don't care how un-mumsnetty it is, I think we all need them!

Have a wonderful holiday bushprincess!

bushprincess · 06/03/2014 18:23

hobb so sorry to hear about the GD - seems to be hitting so many of us, will keep my fingers crossed for you that you can manage it through diet.

samba that sucks... I really hope you get the good anesthetist for the mobile epi if you decide thats what you need, good luck with the hyponobirthing cds - I was thinking of getting some too if anyone can suggest any maybe I could download them form itunes or amazon?

bornin sorry you're feeling so low Thanks

can't belive you're having to deal with rubbish at work as well as at home dobe can't understand why someone would be so awful when you're tyring your hardest to get them a job grrrrrr...

hugs to everyone who needs them

wish I could take you all with me! 'see' you when we get back!

Squiffie · 06/03/2014 18:27

Borderline GD results here - have to go to diabetic clinic next Wednesday Sad

Only got the call about half hour ago and just feel physically sick.

Bornin1984 · 06/03/2014 18:57

Because i work at the hospital where
I'm Going to deliver and the way I'm feeling at the moment, I feel I should transfer my maternity care to my local hospital and never go near my hospital againHmm

dobedobedo · 06/03/2014 19:32

Sorry to hear that squiffy! Gosh we're all dropping like diabetic flies the past couple of days! Thanks

Choppa · 06/03/2014 20:32

Oh lots of hugs to those struggling!!! Had a real wobble here between 27 and 30 weeks but have been better the last week or so. I have been sleeping on the more firm mattress in our spare room which has helped massively with the back and hip pain.

Been having really weird dreams though. Last night dreamed baby has arrived and was so happy it was all over! But when I looked at baby in pram he was a fox cub! WTF ??!! Not going to look up the meaning of that one. F'ing bonkers.

I've heard nothing from my 28 week bloods so can only assume they are ok. Feeling pretty neglected this pregnancy. Have only seen midwife once since 16 weeks (now 31 weeks). Going next week though to see if bump isn't too big for home birth. Fingers crossed.

Hugs all xxx

Wank Badger is my new favourite.,I've been dealing with plenty of fuckwit wank badgers today at work and so very very glad to get home.

I've got a poorly DS, non specific temperature, doing that thing where he's all poorly and whimpery, then the calpol kicks In and he perks right up - note to first timers, Calpol = God, stock up. Anyway, spent about three hours up and down to him in the night with my poor fanjo screaming. We're all very tired in this house.

Tired and tearful, my pubic bone is so very painful, constantly, it's really really debilitating and is getting me down now. I got prescribed some co dryadamol but that stuff abou babies needing to withdraw and potentially causing breathing problems is making me hesitant.

Still no physio referral either, just feeling a bit mis, and poor me, but reading the posts from today, maybe its just miserable Maybies week this week?

Except for our bush(less) princess! I'm about as jel as its possible for a girl to be. I'd kill,to be bobbing about in a nice warm sea right now, hope you have a truly fabulous time.

Sorry to all the poor diabetics, this must be a high percentage for one group? Hope you're all bearing up. Late pregnancy is not fun eh?

Wine I effing wish!

dobedobedo · 06/03/2014 20:51

I just felt a really strange sensation in my tummy so I pulled up my t shirt and there was an unmistakable FOOT sticking out!!! It took me my surprise, and I shrieked! It stayed sticking out for about five seconds and then disappeared again.

It was the strangest, freakiest thing.

LongTailedTit · 06/03/2014 21:22

Grin dobe

TinyTit is squirming about very dramatically this week, every now and then I say 'Oi!' to him. Last night he managed to somehow be kicking/pushing both sides at once, must've been both hands and feet I guess?
I feel like a washing machine, spin spin spin!

Bornin1984 · 06/03/2014 21:23

In my sorry state of affairs, and as a shit diabetic today I went to McDonald's and got apple pie and ice cream!

ClearlyMoo · 06/03/2014 22:40

Oh my. It's Maybies suffer week! Sympathy all round. My foot is mainly numb with this nerve thing and I am walking all wobbly. But I survived day at work and evening dinner with friends! Now a proud owner of Medela swing breast pump! Hurrah!

Called the antenatal unit for advice about my scar at about 12 noon today... just got back from the maternity ward, they were going to keep me in but I begged asked to see a doctor, lovely doctor came and said it's definitely surgical and he wants me to see a surgeon, but the gastro team will arrange that, for now he was happy for me to be discharged. They want to keep an eye on my iron levels though, they've dropped despite me taking iron tablets. Said if it doesn't improve I'll have to go in and have IV infusions of iron so time to start eating lots of steak.

It does make me worry about what the future holds - judging by current waiting times, if they do surgery to sort out my scar and the issues with my bowel, it'll be when baby is probably a toddler Shock but just got to take things one step at a time. And he's requested that next time I go with pains in my scar, they send me to the surgical ward rather than maternity, so that I can see a surgical doctor quicker :) so progress is being made.

And they're happy for me to take 30/500s of cocodamol for a while :)

Hezbean · 06/03/2014 23:15

Hi everyone - love and sympathies to those suffering, it does seem like a high number of people with GD in one group.

spirael - killing myself laughing at your pregnancy simulation idea!! I reckon that'd do the job.

moomin glad to hear you were able to come home and that the docs are looking after you. Doesn't sound much fun though.

dobe that's so freaky about the foot! Could you really see the shape of it? Bonkers!

sarahjinx haha, wankbadger! Love that.

We're just back from our first NCT class - everyone seemed really nice in the group, I think everyone is in their 30s and it's everyone's first baby. I wasn't quite convinced about the course leader to be honest, and I can't say I learned anything I didn't know in this session, but I think they get more detailed as we go along so we'll stick with it. DH was sniggering at the back when she described childbirth to the blokes like doing the biggest poo ever and how you should breathe through it when you do a big poo!!!! She apparently also said to the men (when they went off to do a group thing) that the first sensation a baby gets of the outside world is it's Mum's anus!!!! Er, thanks for that!

impatientlywaiting · 06/03/2014 23:31

Hez we had our first NCT class last night. I enjoyed it and everyone seemed nice, but I wasn't 100% convinced by the course leader either. I think its because I thought our hypno birthing teacher (who is also a practicing midwife) was so amazing that the NCT leader didn't really compare. Hopefully we'll learn more as we go on though, and I liked the exercises where I got a chance to speak to the other mums to be as well.

Hezbean · 06/03/2014 23:35

Ah glad you've got nice people in your group too impatiently.

I think I'd imagined someone running an NCT group to be all warm and cuddly and I just didn't feel like there was much detail either. But it was only the first session so we'll have to see how it goes. I can definitely see myself being friends with some of the others though which is good and DH has already earmarked the blokes he reckons would be good to have a pint with!

How did you find the hypnobirthing? We're doing a course next weekend.

Bornin1984 · 07/03/2014 00:11

Oh wants to go out for tea tomorrow night! Not sure I up to it

dobedobedo · 07/03/2014 06:14

It's always this time of the morning, when I've already been awake for 2 hours and I'm just about to start getting ready for work, that I think I cannot cope with another day of being pregnant, having spd and functioning normally at work. I'm quite amazed I've managed two weeks of work since my week off!

Four to go. Confused

dobedobedo · 07/03/2014 06:15

Also it's definitely time to evict dh from the bedroom. I want to smother his bed hogging, deep breathing stupid face with a pillow. Angry

Bornin1984 · 07/03/2014 06:37

Can't u be signed off with spd
Dobe!

dobedobedo · 07/03/2014 06:42

Quick question: swelling in my legs, ankles and feet hasn't went down since yesterday, despite resting with feet up since 6pm. Do you think I should go and see a nurse to get BP and wee checked? I had pre eclampsia in last pregnancy.

dobedobedo · 07/03/2014 06:42

Can't afford to be signed off bornin my company don't pay when you're sick.

Bornin1984 · 07/03/2014 07:08

Get seen. X

Squiffie · 07/03/2014 07:20

Yes Dobe - definitely get checked out! X
