Dobe phone your midwife before/on way to work today if you can. That doesn't sound good. Better to be safe and waste their time. Hope you have a good day.

More tears in the night here. I'm a total pain wimp. Have lots of work to do before antenatal class at 9am (which clashes with emergency physio appt) we are also going to a BF workshop this pm.

DH coming to both with me. Will leave him there for first hour of Antenatal Q&A while I get physioed (only a short distance away) hope there's at least one or two other guys there. He's used to our NCT where all the OHs go and if wives are ill they come alone... Think daytime NHS antenatal might be all preggo ladies! I daren't warn him of this as so need him to sit there and gather info while I'm being physioed!!!

Yes dobe phone midwife asap

i have phoned in sick and back off to bed now have a migrain and tummy cramps think they might be BH

MasterFlea · 07/03/2014 07:55

I just found last night that my hands are swollen and haven't gone down today. Feet are feeling quite blocky too. I haven't had preeclampsia before so might wait until my appointment on Tuesday. DH has the car today and the clinic is closed on the weekend.

clearly I hope the physio reduces the pain for you somewhat. Sounds so horrible. It is alright to cry.

wm3010 · 07/03/2014 08:14

Hi ladies, sorry to hear so many are struggling still. The second trimester really is the best one isn't it?! Look after yourselves x

Irisheyessmiling · 07/03/2014 08:16

Swollen here too and weird spots before eyes that come and go. Midwifery this morning so we'll see. Probably just horribly enormously pregnant!

dobe your dh comment made me laugh. Mine is complaining about the bruises on his back from my nocturnal thumpings. Perhaps he should STOP BREATHING SO LOUD SO CLOSE TO MY SIDE OF THE BED. And snoring. And nicking the duvet. And sticking his bum out into my back. He claims I'm snoring like a steam train, I think this is filthy lies. I can't possibly be as annoying as him.

Spirael · 07/03/2014 09:13

LOL, I remember similar problems with sharing a bed with my DH last time. The combination of bump and pillow meant I barely got any covers, and the sound/smell of my poor lovely DH breathing was hugely frustrating. Fortunately, all was forgiven after baby was out and there was more space again. :)

This time around I'm lucky enough to have a superking bed (primarily so there's room for a small person - eventually two - to crawl between us), so I can only just about reach DH at arms length, there are plenty of covers and his breathing is far enough away so not to be a bother. Much better. Wink Probably a bit of a drastic solution though for those struggling ATM!

Sorry to hear there's more people with GD. :( I hope that you're able to get it sorted with a diet that isn't too restrictive. Try to think positive, it's only for a few more weeks and usually don't they induce people with GD a bit early? So you'll get to meet your gorgeous LO's sooner and cease with the GD at the same time. Think how good that post birth Biscuit / Cake will taste!

dobedobedo · 07/03/2014 09:31

I've called the midwife and she'll check my BP for me at lunch time. Baby is moving loads and no real headache/migraine symptoms so not worrying too much. My feet are like a memory foam mattresses! Am trying to massage them and drink loads of water to get swelling down. Also I realise I've not been very good with remembering to take asprin every day lately so I hope it's not my own stupid fault!

spriael I really need to get one of those giant superking beds! We would have got one if only our fucking fuel bill hadn't caught us by surprise and been so high!

impatientlywaiting · 07/03/2014 09:34

Dobe definitely let midwife know.

Hez I found hypnobirthing to be brilliant. Our teacher was so thorough and practical that it all made so much sense. I'm confident it will work on the day, but even if it doesn't I think it will have been worth the money as I have no fear or anxiety about the birth now I'm just excited, so to remove the worry will have been value for money. I doubt I'll be anywhere near as calm as the people you see on youtube, but I feel like I've totally accepted it, have tools to make me cope it better and have lost fear so would recommend it to anyone.

moobaloo · 07/03/2014 09:58

Hello Beautiful Maybies!

Been reading but not posting much as there's always so much to say!

Huge hugs and cake to those of you feeling unwell/swelling/PGP/SPD/GD/BH and so on. Hope you're all returned to your blooming selves very soon and your DPs are on their best behaviour!

I am excited as I'm getting my cot today! And can start on my nursery (which is almost clear of my junk!). Hospital bags are done and so is all baby clothes washing - just need a baby now!

29+4

MasterFlea · 07/03/2014 11:16

Impatiently, I agree totally. Just taking the fear away is worth it.

My last labour was great. The breathing worked so well and the few mantras I had in my mind really helped me along. My midwife on the day, very kindly said that I was a "midwife's dream". But I know that any manner of things can go wrong on the day that are beyond anyones control. I am hoping that things go as well as last time though.

I can't help laughing at the bed scenarios. I'm the same. I put DH's pillow right over to his edge everynight so that I can hog more room. He is a light sleeper and I talk in my sleep. Now he says I groan too. I believe that as it is fucking agony to turn over when my hips feel like they are coming apart.

MrsFooCough · 07/03/2014 11:40

Iss my birthday today so EVERYBODY HAVE SOME CAKE

Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake Cake

That's one slice for every year of my life thus far Grin

I'm sorry for all that are suffering badly. My GTT is Tuesday, I'm guessing it'll be a mild positive so that's probably a lovely late birthday present of daily finger stabbing and boring food Sad but I'm more concerned about what the physio can do for me on Monday morning. Fingers crossed there's something they can give me/do to me to help?? I reckon it's PGP and sciatica, but I'm not sure...

Bornin1984 · 07/03/2014 11:41

Happy birthday xxxThanks

impatientlywaiting · 07/03/2014 12:34

Happy Birthday MrsFC.

Hope you have a great day.

Happy Birthday MrsFC Grin

Oooh snapsies on the PGP and sciatica (welcome to the crawling, yowling club of pain). Really hotp you're in less pain than me and are being thoroughly spoiled by OH and your parents xx

Physio has tried to "release" sciatic nerve a fair bit and has extended my range of movement. I can't stand but can walk (waddle) and sit comfortably most places.

We went to NHS Q&A today. Only three preggo people there (and two DHs) cos it clashed with physio I missed most of it! But DH absorbed info and said it was mainly same as NCT class. Made two more yummy mummy contacts tho so that was good!!

BF class this pm! Eeeeksy!

Happy birthday mrsfoo!!! Cake right back at you!

You guys are doing so much. I haven't packed a hospital bag yet, been to any antenatal classes, bf classes, hypnotherapy course....nothing. And I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH A BABY AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!

MasterFlea · 07/03/2014 13:23

Happy birthday Mrs Foo. We had fairy cakes today so have celebrated for you on this side of the water!

My GTT is on Tuesday morning as well. Ick!

When they say fast for 12 hours, do they mean water as well? I can't imagine they do but thought I should ask in case I blow it all to hell.

MrsFooCough · 07/03/2014 13:25

Hey masterflea water is allowed - just tap water my leaflet says, though, so maybe my favourite tipple of bottled sparkling mineral water isn't allowed Sad

LongTailedTit · 07/03/2014 13:52

Yep, water is the only thing allowed during the 12hr fast, but not during the actual test period - at least it wasn't at my Hosp.

mrsmummytobe · 07/03/2014 14:19

Happy birthday mrsfoo.

Sorry I'm not up to date with the thread but just wanted a quick moan-
I'm stuck at work totally exhausted with horrible heartburn & agonising piles!!!! Oh the joys of pregnancy!!! I wish I was at home in my bed :(

AppleCrumble1 · 07/03/2014 14:30

Happy Birthday Mrs Foo Cake
I am suffering from SPD badly & have had 1 physio session so far. I am in agony at night & turning over kills! I feel like I'm walking like John Wayne at times!!

Other than that, all good Wink

We haven't bought much for baby yet as we are due to move though at least the pram is ordered. Eeek! Lovely friends have offered us various things which is also great. NCT doesn't start till the end of March over a couple of weekends so maybe we'll feel less clueless then?! Work is so stressful & the long hours aren't helping...5 weeks to go!!

Hugs to all those in pain x

AppleCrumble1 · 07/03/2014 14:32

Oh yes I've been in the piles club for some time & also the leg cramps at night club too...

ClearlyMoo · 07/03/2014 15:08

[GrinGrin The sun IS shining and I'm being driven to BF class by DH!]

Argh hugs to all suffering. Are we ALL suffering? Maybe we should all try to post one positive thing at the start of each post?Shock

I came on here to describe massive hormonal melt down at colleague who messaged me over internal comms to be surprised I am working today thinking I was off sick all week. I was horrid and grumpy and mean and poor girl didn't deserve it for "suggesting" I saw a physio (I have already) then we both confessed we were crying (all online comms). I have grovelling to do later.

I still want to work. I have 4 weeks left. They will fly. I have SO much to do/finish. Wish everyone will just let me get on with it and stop ring sympathetic. I'm a rubbish patient!
