All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

DH is a cow farmer... I get compared to pregnant cow all the time!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

So we had a bit of a drama yesterday - the baby had been sooooooo quiet all day (after me saying how wriggly it had been the day before!). I tried all the usual tricks to get it to move (sugary drinks, cold drinks, bath, lying down etc) but nothing worked and I was really starting to worry. After dinner we decided we'd ring the hospital and go and get checked out. They were absolutely lovely. They did a trace and immediately, baby started racing around my tummy and would hardly stay still enough for them to get the heartbeat. Thank god. They tried 3 times to get a 5 minute trace but it wouldn't stay still so they ended up doing an ultrasound. Everything was fine, it was wriggling like mad by this point. Think it was showing off for the camera...! They checked the placenta and fluid levels and checked me over and everything's fine, and also said it was good to come in and not to sit at home worrying. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose, and we did get another sneaky peek at the little one which was nice.....

BlanketSky · 14/02/2014 20:10

I've not posted for ages either, can't believe it's almost time for a new thread. Please can we have a thread title that's easier to find when you're knackered and have severe case of baby brain? Wink

Lovely to read that Gabriel is doing well- hope he continues to do so Alyss.

Sorry to hear your drama Hez, sounds familiar, I had a similar experience with DS but this one seems quite well behaved at the moment!

choppa I'm in love with my long pillow. I had a dreamgenii last time which I had been using again but it's frankly crap and floppy so have bought a theraline one- it's like a sandbag. DH prefers it too because it doesn't move around the bed as much.

Might try to catch up a bit more now...

Half term starts here...and I have 3 weeks- just 9 days- left at work!

Happy Valentines and happy weekend to all x

MrsFooCough · 14/02/2014 20:28

Hey Blanket - sorry the rubbish thread name is my fault Blush I'm a bit mentally broken at the moment, genuinely couldn't think of anything else to call it!!! BAGSY I not creat the next bloody thread, I'm rubbish at it! Never manage any clickable links, silly names...I should be locked away tbh I'm deadly at home with this rubbish memory!!!

Happy weekend everyone. I'm in a grump - had to get up at 04.30 for an early shift after a night awake listening to the wind howl round the house. About to get on a train to France. Bleurgh.

27 weeks today. Can't believe how quickly it's going.

SarahJinx · 15/02/2014 07:28

What a night! If the wind wasn't howling, my poor old fanjo was! I honestly don't know how I'm going to manage another three months in this much pain. Midwife on Monday, I reckon I'll end up on painkillers again, and I need something, it's agony. My sex is on fire, and not in a good way!

Hope all are ok x

dobedobedo · 15/02/2014 11:43

Not having a good day today. Last night I made the mistake of going to asda. I managed two aisles and boy am I paying for it now Sad

Ds had an eye test booked today but I knew I couldn't bring him as I can barely walk. I've spend the morning crying because I want to do things like that, but can't. I don't think I went longer than an hour sleeping in one go last night because of the pain.

Pretty much all the housework is falling to dh to do because this pgp thing has rendered me totally useless. And it sounds so ungrateful but he's not very good at it, there's dust everywhere, everywhere needs hoovered and the place is a mess. So I'm stuck in the house because I can't walk anywhere and the house isn't clean enough for me to be able to relax!

I really need to get crutches from the physio.

Sorry for the whinge

McBaby · 15/02/2014 11:48

Anyone suffering with PGP or SPD I would reccomend finding an osteopath who specialises in SPD. I could hardly walk before seeing her this morning but it has eased off a lot since then .

SarahJinx · 15/02/2014 12:18

Dobedo, I'm exactly the same. Being most poor me and getting teary about all the stuff i cant do with DS. Midwife on Monday, going to cry and flail about and hope for intervention.

Mcbaby, what did the osteo do?

rebeccax2 · 15/02/2014 12:35

Oh dobedobedo it must be so frustrating. I really feel for you! Thanks

Had my first Braxton Hicks yesterday - so weird!

So when can we expect stretch marks ladies? I'm 27 weeks, and I'm guessing any week now? :-/

Hezbean · 15/02/2014 12:37

So sorry to hear you guys are in such pain and discomfort. I don't have any remedies but wanted to send my sympathies, it sounds awful. Does being in water take the pressure off at all eg a bath or swimming pool? Sorry if that's a crap suggestion...

Hope everyone is staying safe and dry today and had no damage overnight with the storms.

Xavielli · 15/02/2014 13:05

sambababy I have just seen your thread in childbirth and wanted to let you know that even given a choice in labour my preferred position is on the bed on my back or side. It just feels the most natural to me, I've never tore or had any problems with delivery so it doesn't automatically = complications xx

sambababy · 15/02/2014 13:30

Thank you xavielli that's good to hear Smile I guess every woman is different right?

McBaby · 15/02/2014 13:32

sarah she did some be gentle massage on pelvis and some localised acupuncture needles. She has also taped me up with the stuff footballers use to lift the bump slightly off my pelvic bone which gives such relief for such a small
adjustment - she also sent me home with a roll of tape and instructions for DP so he can reapply through the week.

I just want to keep as mobile as possible so I can entertain DD as when is was pregnant with her I was pretty much house bound for last 14 weeks and had to use crutches in the house as frequently got stuck on the kitchen as it has one step to get out. Only 10 weeks to go so feel I am doing better than last time.

SarahJinx · 15/02/2014 16:30

Thanks, I'm going to ask to be referred when I see the midwife I think. I was nowhere near as bad as this last time, although it was bad enough that I know what it is and that it will only get worse.

I really wanted to avoid drugs but no sleep for the next 12 weeks is unthinkable. And it's a pain like no other, like toothache in your pubic bone! Nice.

Bornin1984 · 15/02/2014 16:43

Is it normal to feel constantly hungry??

BlanketSky · 15/02/2014 16:52

it wasn't a criticism MrsFoo- more that my tired and useless brain can't cope finding something without May at the front of it! Hmm I hadn't posted for so long it disappeared off my threads list so I couldn't find it... my fault really! Hope things get a bit better for you :)

Rebecca you might get lucky and not get any/very many at all. Unfortunately I had loads the first time, I think from about 20 weeks. Not noticed any new ones (yet).

hope everyone is OK in the storms

McBaby · 15/02/2014 17:16

sarah you have prob already tried all these things but I find ice pack on the front joint, heat on the back, sleeping in a duvet with a pillow between legs all help and mean I can avoid painkillers as much as possible.

impatientlywaiting · 15/02/2014 17:37

Dobe and Sarah I'm thinking of you! What you are going through sounds absolutely awful!

SarahJinx · 15/02/2014 18:16

Thanks Impatient, McB i have a wheat pack down my pants as we speak. Haven't tried ice but got one in the freezer from an old back injury, will try anything.

nights are the worst, I'm using a pillow between my knees and ankles but any movement is horribly painful. I've been wearing a support band since about 18 weeks which helps when walking about, but i perhaps need something with a little more scaffholding now I'm getting bigger.

I hate being a moaner, I love being preg but its miserable isn't it. Last time i was given a small dose of codeine phosphate i think, i don't recall it helping that much either.

to the freezer!

SarahJinx · 15/02/2014 18:19

And re stretch marks, i got none until week 40 last time where I accrued loads in the fourteen days until I had him. This time, loads already but carrying so differently, higher up so i guess its different, lively unstretched skin. Or it was.

Bornin1984 · 15/02/2014 18:27

Homemade lasagne for
Tea! Would it be wrong
To want a cider
Too?

dobedobedo · 15/02/2014 19:39

I dunno bornin but I've been hankering for a glass of white wine for days now!

Thanks guys. I've been putting frozen peas on my lower back, hips and pubic bone, which does help. Until I move at least. Nights are getting unbearable though. The physio recommended going from top of bed to bottom of bed, instead of turning from left to right. That way you don't need to move your hips as much. I need to kick dh out though because I don't want his feet in my face!

I'm going to phone the physio first thing on Monday to get crutches. I can't be housebound. I have a job, shit to do! I'm only 30 and pregnant, not 90 and terminally ill!

I keep thinking as well, dh can only do so much. He does everything in the house now, cooking, cleaning, everything. And he works full time too. I don't want him to start resenting me. I just hate feeling so useless and restricted. Sad

dobedobedo · 15/02/2014 19:40

Ah meant to say, no new stretch marks this time, but three little ones on my ribs?! Wtf. Hmm

impatientlywaiting · 15/02/2014 19:54

I had a sneaky gin and tonic last night. It was delicious.

I'm not making a habit of it, last drink was at a friend's 30th first week of Jan, but I thought one drink every month or so would be okay.
