Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
topmammy · 26/01/2014 16:44

I have tried ginger biscuits but they make me gag! Lol

I'm still feeling nauseous but still managing to go out etc so obviously it's not quite as bad as you have it whiteblossom and waffles you poor things Brew

I'm starting to feel like I'm getting a bug though too, got a bit of a sore/scratchy throat. DH is full of cold so trying to stay away from him haha but feel like I'm getting it :( And this is the day after the midwife told me I need to get a flu jab asap. I went to tell my doctor I was pregnant at the end of December, I wish he had offered me the bloomin' jab then!!!

sittingpretty25 · 26/01/2014 16:46

Berry - iv been taking vitb past three days and wearing sickness bands and I feel so much better - not so light headed but still get a few waves of nausea but not as strong.

By the way for those that care - toilet all good and wonderful - just left me super bloated and we are out with friends for a meal tonight so have big dilemma what to wear.

Anyone else getting really worried it's not real? I only did two pg tests and I'm so scared I will get to my 12 week scan and nothing will be there - it's hard cos I'm also starting to feel super excited!! I wish do much I could get an early scan (especially as the scales tell me iv lost weight but have a very obvious rounded belly!!)

sebsmummy1 · 26/01/2014 17:17

It's funny because I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't have the early scan that was offered to me incase they can't see a heart beat and it just leads to more upset and stress.

You hear so many stories of people being told they can't see a heart beat and then going back in a few weeks and all is fine. Its also the case that you can have an early scan that is fine and then find out at 12 weeks that all is not well.

I'm just not sure if the early scan really does give any reassurance.

bugoven · 26/01/2014 17:22

sitting the scales are telling me the same but my boobs are bigger and my tummy is very rounded. I have always had low body confidence but I love my pregnant body =)

BexBoo12 · 26/01/2014 17:29

Im sorry some of you are having a rough time Hmm hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. Xx

Does anyone use the ovia pregnancy app? I'm 8 weeks today, and it says bubba has hands now!! It even shows a picture of the size of the hand Envy xx

sleepynut · 26/01/2014 17:54

Broodylicious I had an ectopic before this pregnancy. With my ectopic I had bleeding and all I can describe as an uncomfortableness in my left side. I also had really strange rectum pain that I have never experienced before. This time I was convinced that I was having another ectopic as I was getting pain in my left side again in a specific spot but thankfully didn't have the bleeding. Thankfully they have me an early scan and everything was in the right place. If you get the pain again just go to a&e and they will give you a scan to check. It's better to be safe than sorry and if it puts your mind at rest then that can be the best medicine. Hope your ok xx

KitKat1985 · 26/01/2014 19:16

Hey ladies.

Sorry to hear so many of you have got worries at the moment. This first trimester is emotionally very draining isn't it? All this worry about miscarriages etc. Will be so pleased once 12 week scan out of the way for us all and we can all start to relax a bit!

On the subject of which, I'm desperate for this second trimester 'blooming' phase now. I'm going to apologise in advance for the self-indulgent rant coming up. I'm only 6 + 2 but feel so rough. None of my clothes fit - my stomach has become enormous for someone so early on in pregnancy. The nausea is getting worse and the tiredness is horrendous. The only time I've ever felt this exhausted is when I've had or been getting over flu. That's what it feels like every day. To make matters worse due to a cock-up by my boss miscalculating my holiday allowance for the rest of the year, (she incorrectly told me I had more holiday left than I did, to which I then booked stuff and then told around and told me I only had half the holiday allowance she originally told me), the only way I can now do all the things I've booked in and still have the time off is by making the hours up in advance, which is what I've been doing all month. I've already worked a lot the past 5 days, and I've got another 44 hours to do in the next 4 days. I literally don't know how I'm going to get through it. However I'm determined to because then after January all my extra hours are done and I can just go back to working my basic hours. But I'm seriously dreading the next few days. Actually going to go to bed in a bit!

To make matters worse, DH is driving me mad. The only thing I asked him to do this weekend whilst I was at work was tidy up a bit and clean the bathroom etc a bit. Did he? No. I can't say he did nothing to be fair, he did do laundry, washing-up, etc but I don't think he realises how much the mess annoys me (my DH is probably the untidiest person on the planet). The he insisted at the crack of dawn this morning (I'd just got up for work) whilst I was groggy and nauseous telling me that he was going to Tesco's later and did I want anything. I eventually thought of one item I wanted. When I came back from work he had bought himself chocolate bars, muffins, and all sort of other items; and had he remembered my 1 item. No. I know it's partly that I'm hormonal, tired and grumpy; but is anyone else's DHs / DPs driving them mad?!?

Carly6971 · 26/01/2014 19:24

kitkat sorry your having a hard time at work :( role on February! Just wanted to say I can totally empathise with the hubby driving you mad thing! I have found myself on numerous occasions thinking 'what am I doing having a baby with him? Now I am stuck with him forever!' I have spent a lot of time not standing the site of my DH recently...poor man, he hasn't even done anything! One minute I am laughing with him the next I am ripping his head off! Apparently quite a few of my friends (with children) felt this way, so I just keep apologising when I have been mean and trying to think when I am getting mad that it's just hormones and to not take it out on him...think it's coz they are closest to us that they get the angry rants lol x

KitKat1985 · 26/01/2014 19:28

Thank you Carley6971 you've made me feel a bit more normal! I have to say that I know my DH is really trying his best, and I feel mean for snapping at him all the time, but he's just been driving me mad! Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm hoping I'll be a nicer person in February! xx

LH1981 · 26/01/2014 19:31

Yeah, I agree - it's the hormones. We still refer to 'sandwich-gate' which happened a few weeks back. I'd been helping out my friend's parents as her younger sister had passed away, so been on my feet all day helping with food, driving people around etc etc and not had much to eat (didn't want to tell anyone about being pregnant) and got home about 9pm. DH had just got back from one of my mum-friends who had picked the kids up from school, and cooked them all dinner (dh included) and all I wanted was a ham, cheese and pickle roll. What did dh come out of the kitchen eating?? The last roll, with the last of the ham. I was a woman possessed!

On the subject of food, I just cooked a chicken curry and forgot to put the chicken in.
So, I'm starting the - you know you're pregnant when...?
Feel free to join in Grin

KitKat1985 · 26/01/2014 19:38

To be fair Lh1981 I think I might have killed my DH if he had eaten the last roll, so I think you managed rather well! Grin

Right, I'll be the first one on this then:
You know you're pregnant when...

  1. At least 50% of your diet is now made up of plain biscuits and toast.
  2. You sleep for 12 hours and still wake up tired.
  3. Doing housework in your spare time seems as insurmountable as climbing Everest, as you refuse to leave the sofa.
LH1981 · 26/01/2014 19:49

Haha kitkat, yep, those score highly on the pregnant list!

And dh is lucky to still be breathing, it was a close call! x

whiteblossom · 26/01/2014 20:01

just wanted to say I see an October board! Grin

I have to say my dh has been a star, today he has cleaned hovered mopped tidyed up, cleaned kitchen and cooked his and ds dinner. He's been taking the dog for a walk at 6am most days and always happy to pop to shop for me and he's done the odd school run. So I cant complain!!

Though after feeling ill for so long Im getting a tad grumpy but thankfully he understands.

sebsmummy1 · 26/01/2014 20:10

I feel sick tonight. Wonder if it's MS? Hope so Grin

BexBoo12 · 26/01/2014 20:53

You know you're pregnant when...the back of your eyelids is your favourite sight. Zzzzz

isitme1 · 26/01/2014 21:16

Yupp Katherine milk was pretty shit. I had to top him up with formula too.
My labour was 9hours second time round.

Someone also said it was because (pph) I was in labourtoo long again.
1st labour (fron waters breaking to having him) 4days! X

isitme1 · 26/01/2014 21:17

You know your pregnant when
your always on the emotional roller coaster!

topmammy · 26/01/2014 21:53

You know you're pregnant when looking at a piece of steak, or if anyone so much as mentions the word steak, he'll even writing the word steak makes you want to puke Envy Urrgh!

topmammy · 26/01/2014 21:57

hell*

What is are these new 'tb' emoticons about?! Hmm tiny biscuit? teeny butt? Too bad? Totally berserk? Haha I knew my English degree would come in handy one day!

bugoven · 26/01/2014 22:10

Well spotted white, wow! Realised I have known about Baby Elvis for a month today Smile On Boxing Day when I got my BFP I looked at the August thread and thought, you lucky things, you're past that really scary first few weeks that go soooooo sloooooowly. But we've made it and my reward is my booking in appointment in 3 days! I'm wondering if she'll get her doppler out?!?!
I am a little ashamed to share this but I am actually paying for a private scan on payday. I did loads of overtime a few months ago, it nearly killed me and of all the things I would like to treat myself to, another little look at our tiny little miracle seems perfect.

Oh and:
You know you're pregnant when you turn down a massive bowl of your favourite ice cream! It has never lasted more than a few days and it's been there for a month now!

lucidlady · 26/01/2014 22:10

I think it's something to do with Burns' day topmammy but not sure!

bugoven · 26/01/2014 22:13

TB is about Burns Night I think but it's Robert Burns so not sure why it says tb. The emoticons do look suspiciously gaelic Grin

topmammy · 26/01/2014 22:30

Oh I see! Well rather embarrassingly I had convinced myself they must be to do with Chinese New year (which is next week) as they look a bit like the traditional hats in China... sort of. Lol!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 26/01/2014 23:15

Hi ladies Brew Hugs to all xx
Just need some reassurance really, haven't been sleeping on a night cos I'm worrying myself sick about my scan on Tuesday. I've got a really bad gut feeling and I can tell my OH is just as worried too. I hate feeling like this, I feel physically sick and just can't put my mind at ease until Tuesday has been and gone Sad xx

lucidlady · 27/01/2014 06:25

It's Burns related but no idea what the t has to do with anything! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/1977875-What-No-bunnets-Tis-Burns-night-you-know

miss hugs to you. Try not to stress, easier said than done I know! Can you do something nice for yourself to take your mind off things?
